May 19, 2008I am trying to change the Page size of the layout dynamically. Does anyone know if this is possible? If so can you point me in the right direction to find resources for this.

Jan 3, 2008If you generate a report in HTML and it then opens a seperate page, if you then press refresh does it refresh the data from the database or does it just refresh the page?

I have uploaded a html-page to the Report Manager, the html-page has a img-tag with a src="Picture1.png" in it. The image is then uploaded to the same folder as the html-page. When I browse the html-page the image is not found, red cross, does anyone know why this happens?

Missing Images In Rendered HTML View

i have a report with an image on the footer. When i view the report in the designer/report manager or export to any format, everythings fine. Now i have a ASP.NET site which makes a webservice call to get HTML output from my report. in this case no image show up. The Url of the image is like that: h**p://servername/ReportServer?%2fDocuments%2fGerman%2fOrder%2fOrderResponse&rs%3aFormat=HTML4.0&rs%3aImageID=ac8c4a8c-8a63-4ff9-ba74-6d6a7076a0ef
When i check the HTML version of the Report Manager the url of the image is like: h**p://servername/Reports/Reserved.ReportViewerWebControl.axd?ReportSession=iuwsgfikvz4ezfmd0tqmyj45&ControlID=cee4d933-5ab6-413f-8c28-4c3a2b3ff230&Culture=1031&UICulture=7&ReportStack=1&OpType=ReportImage&StreamID=84e7491d-eab4-4502-adac-2bec4254da90
I take the byte stream of the report from the RS Service an put it to the HttpResponse of the ASP.NET page.
What could be the problem?
Problem With Page Borders When Rendering Report In Html

I created a report with borders in the page header, the page body, and the page footer. When I preview the report in report viewer it is exactly how I want it and it also prints and exports to pdf perfectly. There's only a problem viewing it in report manager. The borders in the page header and footer show up right but the body of the report's borders don't show up at all. The body of the report also is no longer aligned with the page header and footer because it's borders seem to be unrecognized in the report manager view. Has anyone experienced this problem and/or figured out what to do to fix this? Please let me know.

100% Width And Height Within A Master Page

We have a ReportViewer control sitting inside a master page's content placeholder. All works fine except when I set the width and height to 100% rather than a fixed size in pixels. This is what we require, as we'd like the control to resize automatically along with the page.
I'm aware of a fix whereby you remove the doctype statement from the page's script, but this seems to have no effect on a page which is based on a master page.
Is there any other way we can get our ReportViewer to work in a 100% width/height mode?

Hidden Graph And Table Show Up As Empty Page When Rendered To Pdf
Feb 23, 2007I have a report that has 3 graphs and two tables that render to 5 pages in pdf. Some users should only get a subset of the 5 elements and some need all 5. When I set the Hidden property (in the designer or via a parameter) for any of the elements they become invisible but in pdf but the report still prints out a page for the hidden element. It works fine in the designer and rendered to html and excel but I get an extra page in pdf. it is like the hidden element still takes up the same amount of space but is just hidden.
Any help would be great.

Toggle Page Footer Visibility Based On Subreport Being Rendered
Nov 19, 2007I want to toggle the visibility of a report item in my page footer based on whether or not a particular subreport has been rendered.
The report has 3 subreports. The subreport above the subreport in question can span several pages, so the subreport I want information on can render on page 1 (for a short report) or page 12 (for example) on a longer report.
Is there a way to determine within the main report when a particular subreport has been rendered and is currently visible?

Interactive Height Is Not Forcing Page Breaks
Feb 13, 2008I have set the Interactive Height in my SQL report to 11 inches. I have also set a page break to occur after each table group in my report. When I run the report in SQL Reporting Services (or in Visual Studio 2005) the only page breaks that occur are the ones after each group. The Interactive Height setting is not causing page breaks. The first group in my report prints out as 4 pages but is showing up on the html screen as 1 long page. The first page break finally occurs at the end of the first group.
How can I get the Interactive Height to force page breaks within each of my groups? I am using SQL Reporting Services 2005.

We have 10 charts in One RDL file, out of these 10 charts 3 Pie charts are displayed dynamically,
Using 'Visibility' property expression in the 'Hidden' sub property as below.

Which returns 'true' or 'false' for 'Hidden' property.
Each chart has to be displayed on separate page, hence we have set 'PageBreakAtEnd' Property to true for each chart.
Problem:
But, when this RDL file is deployed on report server, these charts are all displayed on single page without any page breaks.
however, when the RDL file is exported in PDF format, the report is rendered with charts on separate pages as expected.
Is there any way to ensure the charts are rendered properly, in report viewer of report server ?

I have deployed my report to the report server and send a link to the users to view the report on the browser. But when the report is viewed, it shows up as "restore down" instead of "full screen". For example, the report shows up in the browser with all the information below.

Report And Other Controls Not Rendered

After resolving all the installation and configuration related issues, I was able to deploy a couple of projects on my report server. I can see alll folders and reports listed inside the folders from http://<servername>/reports . All works fine except when I run a report, the http://<servername>/Reports/Pages/Report.aspx page does not render report.
This page displays View, Properties, History Subscriptions etc, menu items on the top section of the page. It also displays Home, My Subscriptions, Site Settings, Help etc. links on top right corner of the page. I can also see the bar that has "New subscription" button. But the problem starts from the section below that. It does NOT display the Report navigation bottons (like First page button, Next Page button, previous page button, Last page button, print button etc.) Appears that the icons images for these bottons are missing. And above all, the page does not render report.
IE browser status indicate the following error:
error:'HoevrImagectl161_ctl01_ctl01_ctl06_ctl01' is null or not an object.
The report renders fine via http://<servername>/ReportServer/Pages/ReportViewer.aspx
I may not have explained the problem well here however, if you are interested, I can email you the screenshot of Report.aspx to help you understand the problem.

Render PDF With Custom Page Layout

I'm using an URL to render a pdf.
- URL: //reportserver/...&Filename&...&Format=PDF (with this URL, it renders the pdf just fine)
However, if I want to pass some parameters to define the page layout, it seems this has no effect on the pdf.
--> URL: //reportserver/...&Filename&...&Format=PDF&rs: Command=Render&rc: StartPage=0&rc: PageWidth=16,54in&rc: PageHeight=11,7in
(I've added some spacing between ": P", ": C" and ": S"; otherwise it displays an emoticon)
Is there anyone who can see what the problem seems to be?

Page Header And Page Footer Not Loading Report Items In The Main Report When Subreport Called?

I am having a main report having two subreports, say M1,S1 and S2 respectively.
The issue is S2 normally tend to go beyond one page, for all pages except first page of the of the subreport I am getting the page header and footer blank,
Actually this is not loading the ReportItems that are used in main report but it shows text boxes containing strings for eg . "My Name" and date functions eg Today()
Any Solution?

Report Rendered In Email Subscription Has Formatting Problems

Last week a number of reports that were working fine began rendering incorrectly when sent out in report subscription emails - they work fine when directly rendered using report manager. The weird issues include broken alignment (left instead of right), missing borders, and changed fonts.
I checked the report deployment dates and these reports have not changed since well before the issues arose. I am digging thru the event logs to see what might have changed, but has anyone seen this issue before?

Does RS Allow Any Kind Of Hover Over Feature In A Rendered Report And/or Param Prompt?
Dec 6, 2007does RS allow a report to be built such that after user runs it, hovering over a particular piece of info could display some variable piece of info similar to tooltips, intellisense etc?
How about a tip to the user if he/she hovers over a parameter prompt?
Report Viewer In ASP.NET - Subreport Page 2 Goes Back To Main Report Page 2 On Paging
Nov 22, 2007What we've found is that when you have two reports where one navigates to the other, if you click on the second page of the second report, it takes you to the second page of the original report. If you navigate over to the subreport again and click for the second page, it works appropriately. This is definitely a no-go for production code and this may delay our ship date because I would think this is definitely undesirable.
Conditions:

Report that links to another report
Both reports return more than one page
Reporting Services installed
Steps to Reproduce:
Download the source code here.
Follow the directions (near the bottom of the post) to get the project set up.
Run it and click on a link in the first report to go to the second report.
Click the arrow for page 2 of the second report.
Notice how it takes you back to page 2 of the first report (this doesn't happen when you are in preview mode in the Reporting Services project and I don't believe it does this in a smart client application).

I am using Sqlserver Reporting services 2005 with ASP.NET 2.0. I am using Report viewer control in ASP.NET to display the report which is generated by using Sqlserver Reporting services 2005.
Actually, when i am giving the below statement, the the report is displaying good.

But, When i am trying to give the height to the report viewer control, it displays nothing in the browser.

Report Viewer Height Problem!! In IFRAME
Feb 12, 2007Any body has problems using report viewer in IFrame? Here is the observation i have....when you assign the report.Height = 400px. It is assigning the report body height to be 400px. when i say report body I mean report body only!!
The report parameters section is not included in 400px. The export, print, page navigation button sections is not in 400px either!! Given such properties, when you want to show report viewer in a pre-determined IFRAME (non-scrollable) height of 500px, part of the report and horizontal report scroll bar could disappear , if the paratemeters section is more than 100px (says >2 rows or more than 4 parameters)!!
can someone tell me how to lock the height of report viewer size that will include parameters + export,print + report body? or any workaround?
How To Set The Height Of The Report Body/table Dynamically

I have a report of 8.5"(W) by 11"(H).The header and footer size are fixed.
The header size is 4.75 in and footer size is 2.375in.
In the report body I have a table where the data is dynamic.
The problem is when the data is small i mean like 2 or 3 columns it doesnt touch the footer .
If we have more than 10 columns or so it goes to the next page and even then it doesnt touch the footer beacuse the data stops there.
If we have like 4 columns or so in the table then it touches the footer.
I tried to replace the table with the list but I got the same problem there also.
I tried to place the table in a rectangle and it has the same problem.
I want the table to touch the footer no matter how much the data is .
Is there any work around for this problem?

No HTML Page Breaks And Slow Expanding Rows
Jun 18, 2007I have a report with a single table, single grouping level, single data set and no sub-reports. It has 3 rows for a grouping header and 3 rows per dataset row of detail. The detail rows are initially hidden and can be expanded by clicking on the header +. Its a fairly standard master-detail report.
Regardless of data size, I get NO page breaks in HTML. I have the Interactive size set to 8.5x11, KeepTogether is set to False, and PageBreakAtEnd is set to False. I would like it to break based on the visible grouping rows.
As it is now, everytime you expand any section, it takes forever to reload for a larger recordset.
I know that "HTML renderer and Preview (which are soft page break renderers) will ignore page breaks of conditionally hidden items and their children.", but how do I get this report to page break?? I've seen a lot of posts on this, but none that seem to have an answer.
