Report Parameters Being Searched For After They Have Been Removed From All Visible Interfaces

I've been building and testing my reports and have found that if I decide that a report parameter should be removed, removing the parameter causes the report to fail.
If I remove a report parameter via the 'Report Parameters' menu, and I also remove the associated data dimension, filter expression and parameter check boxes, when I preview the report I get an error message. It appears the report is searching for the old parameter name even after it has been deleted.
This leaves me with the option of either restoring the parameter as it was, or rebuilding the report from scratch. I've done some investigation and the parameters seem to exist within the XML code that underlies the report despite the parameters being deleted.
I have a report that I want users to navigate to and I want them to see the parameters of the report, but I don't want them to be able to change them. Is this possible?
I am new to reporting services and really need some help.. Im trying to simply my requirement using this scenario: Lets say
I want to display Sales for the current year (i.e from the start of the year january to the month we are currently at). The next requirement is to group these sales, by Area , Region , Zone...
Top leve l = Zone , then Region then Area.
I need the user to be able to control this using a parameter (i.e User can select "View Area Level" or "View Region Level" or "View Zone level")
How can this best be achieved ?
My idea was using row groupings and controling visibility using the parameter.. The problem is.. If i want to view ONLY the area level and not see anything above, can I turn visibility off of the Zone and Region and still see the inner group (area)

Any time you try to run a report now it crashes trying to create or find a temp file in a wierd path... exception is below... this happens for any request to the report server at all! all we changed was we removed a drive that was no longer used on the server! This path doesnt even exist! any idea where this path is stored or how to fix it? thanks!

I am creating a report where there are 3 tables in one report which have visibility set as an expression so that when a certain criteria is selected in the "Report" parameter, a different table is shown below. Â This works as expected.
When table 3 is shown, I want a new parameter to be visible to the user called "Ward" where the user will select the ward they are interested in and the table will display data below just for the ward selected.  However, I don't want the ward parameter visible when either of the other 2 options are selected. Is this possible and how to do this?Â
i am developing a Performance Management System for my organisation and reports are quite complex. so i thought to create a CLR stored procedure and then use this in Crystal Report.
The problem I am facing is that the CLR stored procedures I create using Visual Studio 2005 are not visible from Crystal Reports XI come with Visual Studio 2005. I can create stored procedures using standard transact sql and these are visible, but the CLR stored procedures are not.
I Simply create a CLR store procedure in Visual Basic and debug it. This CLR procedure then appeares under stored procedure node in SQL Server 2005.
I've noticed when I browse the stored procedures in my SQL Management Studio that the image of the stored procedure has a padlock shown in the icon, as if they are locked?
Do I have to explicitly enable a security attribute on CLR stored procedures to make them visible?
When I preview a report that has a link to a details report page in VS a "Back to Parent Report" button is displayed. However, when I publish the report to the Report Server, the .aspx page doesnt display the "Back to Parent Report" button. Is there a setting I need to make to have the button displayed?
I have several reports that use parameters that I have defined as multi-value. When I am designing the reports I see the "(Select All)" option listed first in each parm control that has the multi-value property set true. However, when the same reports are deployed to our server and viewed through Report Manager, the "(Select All)" option is missing. I need the "(Select All)" to be present.
I've seen some discussion of a service pack. Could this be the problem? What do we need to do to get our "(Select All)" back?
I am able to preview my report in Microsoft Visual Studio with a chart embedded at the top of the report. However after uploading the report to Report Manager, the chart is blank. How can I get the chart to be visible in Report Manager? I am using SQL Server 2012 on a Windows Server 2012 R2 machine. I can see the chart if I edit the report in Report Building in the print layout mode. I can also see the chart in my Microsoft Visual Studio Project.
I have an issue as to where only some reports are visible within Report Viewer url. But if I navigate to the path of the rdl's there are many more present that should be visible through Report Viewer. The client was recently upgraded, and I seem to have all out of box roles and permission levels yet can only see some of those reports, as if some were manually copied to this folder location at a later point and perhaps some user job needs to be run to reflect import those additional rdl's?
I have a SSRS report with four parameters,and I want to be able to enter information for two of the parameters and run the report opposed to all four of them. However, when I select allow blanks and only select the parameters that I want to run the report by, the report come back blank..Essentially, I want to be able to the run report by different parameters without having to enter information for all parameters at the same time.

With visual studio, i publish my report on reportserver. whenever i access to my report on this url :

We have an Office SharePoint 2007 site, we developed a couple of web parts and added them to our site. We used SQL Server Reporting services 2005 as our reporting solution. The reports are hosted on the report center and when we need a report, we open it by sending a URL requesting the report, passing the report parameters in the URL query string. So the report is filtered based on the parameters passed from the web parts.
But since best practices say that you should host reports directly under SharePoint, by configuring the reporting services to run in the SharePoint integrated mode. We followed the steps and installed SharePointRS and we finally succeeded to publish the reports to a SharePoint folder, but we had a limitation: we are unable to pass the report parameters internally to the report hosted in SharePoint. If we passed them in the query string as the report center case, SharePoint neglects them totally. So the question is: how can I pass parameters internally between a SharePoint web part and a SQL server 2005 reporting services report hosted in SharePoint?
I am trying to develop a report from cube,and it has one drill through report.when i click on sales amount field on main report,then it open the drill through report with details.Here i passed the **(category,subcat,product)parameters(Cascaded)** to drill through report in action part of main report.In my main report i have two columns .

when i click on 100, parameters are passed & it open the detail report correctly, but when i click on 50,the values for subcat parameter is not getting values in detail report and same as the product also.

I have a really cool Budget report which has two matrices on it. One is used/visible if the user selects four levels of grouping, and one is used if the user selects only three levels of grouping. The four choices for grouping are four fields, Par, FERC, Point, and Resource.
Since grouping is optional, I need a way to pass the parameter for a field that is not grouped on from the main report to the drillthrough report. For example if the user chooses to group on all fields but Point, I need to pass the report parameter that was used by the main report for Point to the drillthrough report as a report parameter.
So, I tried testing the three grouping levels values and if none were equal to "Point" then pass in the parameter by putting the following expression in the Parameter Value box for the Point parameter on the Navigation tab of the datacell of the main report that is the drillthrough link:

But this is not working; the drillthrough report shows a blank dropdown for the Point parameter and I have to manually set it. Does anyone see an error in the syntax of the iif statement?

Is it possible to poplulate some control like Dropdownlist (for example, with Product names Or Product Ids) from database table in SSRS project type and then filter report by choosing various choice pre-populated in dropdownlist control.
Project Type is : SQL Server Reportings 2005.
Desired Action: Report will run in browser, User will choose specific product and Run the report(filter) to show that product relate results.
Case: Exporting Report to PDF/Printing/TIFF Report: Contains 1 table with 19 Columns. 1 column is static, the other 18 are visible at the users descretion. Report when printed/exported to pdf spans 2 pages naturally, 16 on the first page, 3 on the second, and the column widths have been adjusted to provide a perfect page span .
User A elects to hide two of the columns, and show the rest. The report complies and the viewable version is perfect, the excel export is perfect.. the PDF export on the first page causes every fith column, starting with the last column that was hidden to be expanded to take up additional width. On the spanned page, it renders the first column on that page correctly, then there is a white space gap equal to the width of the hidden columns and then the rest of the cells show with the last column expanded to take up the same width that the original 2 columns were going to take up, plus its width.
We have tried several different settings to see if it helps this issue or makes it worse. So far cangrow/canshrink/keep together have made no impact. It is not possible to increase the page size due to limited page size selection availablility for the client. There are far too many combinations of what the user can elect to show or hide to put together different tables to show and hide on the same report to remove this effect.
Any help or suggestion on this issue would be appreciated
Is it possible to add custom controls in for parameters in report manager??
I have a parameter that requires the user to click a button and select a bunch of things in another form. How can i do this in reporting services??
I also would like to change the layout of the parameters toolbar, ie. make text boxes smaller widths, show/hide parameters based on other parameter values.
I know i could write my own web page that does this and hide the parameters toolbar when they run the report, but this would mean that we lose other functionality that report manager has, eg. scheduling.
Does anyone know if customising the report manager will become available in a later version??
Report A has two parameters defined as "Prompted", meaning the report input area is available for the user.
Report A parameters ---> StartDate, EndDate
When Report B invokes Report A using the Jump To Report Functionality and passing Report B's StartDate and EndDate parameters, Report A seems to think the parameters are implied and not needed and fails to drop down the parameter input area.
This is not desired because the user should be able to change report A's parameters.

I'm baffled by a problem I noticed yesterday, I have a 3 NODE SQL 2005 x64 ENT cluster which was setup with SSIS and Notification services upon setup. I have gone through patching SQL 2005 with SP1 (initial setup) SP2 and Hotfix 3052 through the last two months and it in the NT applicaiton log that SSIS was patched and started up to 6/15. Yesterday I received an email stating SSIS was not installed by one of our developers, upon logging in a confirmed it's no longer there! I re-installed through ADD/RM Programs SQL 2005 and ran through the SP2 and HF 3052 setup.. but upon scanning the Application logs I can't find any record of SSIS or Notification services being uninstalled. The MSinstaller shows the initial install of both packages, and then the re-install today but there's no log of uninstalling it. Does anyone know where else I can look or has can explain this odd occurance?
I am in the process of porting over an application from Access To SQL implementing SQL Server 2005 Express. My intention is to implement this database on a full time server and upgrade to a full blown version of SQL later. Am I correct in assuming that there is not limit on the number of concurrent connections to SQL Server Express since it was stated that the "Workload Governor" has been removed? Or does something else control the number of users that can be simultaneously connected to the server.
My reason for asking is I have 7 machines that need to access the server. I also have 2 databases that need to be accessed from each machine. If there is no limit, I will keep my databases seperate. However, if there is a limit, I will most likely merge the tables into 1 db.
I created a web Appplication using Visual Web Developer but when a placed the application in the ftp and I tried to register appeared this message: An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections(provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified). I have made some changes in the web.conf file but I still got the same message, Please can you help with this. Thanks in advance...!
My hosting company 1and1 doesn't allow remote connection, is there a string that I can put into my web.config file to get around that? I have tried changing ports 1433 to 1434 etc but nothing seems to work. Please help.....
Developed a website using VS.net 05 which connects to a SQL 2005 server for its data. When I ran the site in VS for testing it works correctly. After I used the copy utility and placed the site files on our web server (seperate from our SQL server) and navigated to the site recieved the error.
Checked and verified that a data connection can be made from the web server to the SQL server Verified that the HTML connection string was correct in the asp files. Verified that SQL Server Browser was running (had to start it) Verified that IIS had NP and TCP/IP enabled.
It would appear that the problem still resides in the application as a data connection could be made from the web server to the SQL server but as this is my first web app launch am wondering if I am missing something else.
I have deployed my ASP .NET 2.0 app (with a SQL Server Express 2005 database located in the App_Data folder) to my production (shared hosting) server. After requesting the above resolution, my hosting company said: --------------------- The raw data for the database (.mdf file) will not generate the desired results. This database will need to be restored on the SQL server to get the desired and correct results. You will have to upload the backup of the database in order to restore the database on the SQL server. ---------------------
I have never deployed an application with sql server express before, but I was under the impression that I would not have to restore a copy of the database on the server. I have read the post on SQL Server Express and Hosting (http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=2893587&SiteID=1) and see that it is not recommended in a shared hosting environment, but does this mean it won€™t work? This is a really small site where a full-blown sql server db would be overkill.
My question is: is what my hosting company stated true, or are they able to resolve the issue by following the steps found in €œHow to fix SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26€? article?
I have 3 report parameters: startdate, enddate, callstatus
My problem is that once I added callstatus to the parameter list my dates were ignored?
What do I need to do to correct it?
