Looks like I need some additional adjustment on the authentication. But I do not know where and how.
I try to change the webservice identity but after changing the user identity of the application pool in iis ( I think this is the only way to change webservice identity) I got the error message service unavailable in IIS. With this I also couldn't start the webfront end any more. Switching back to NT-AuthorityNetwork Serive the web front end worked again.
I tryed to add
Code Snippet<identity impersonate="true" />
to the web config and I get the same Error on the webserver account...
It would be great if someone could help me to adjust the settings...
hI all, I have sql server 2000 installed on one machine running windows server 2003 and using VS 2003 to code and run IIS 5.0 on another machine running windows XP. I'm getting the error: sql exception: SQL Server does not exist or access denied. But i tried using osql to connect to the sql server from the XP machine and it works fine! Can someone pls help me and tell me why i get this error for my webapp but i can connect to the sql server with osql? Thanks in Advance
Hi,I have a SqlConnection object with connection string, "Data Source=server1;Initial Catalog=CDCollection;User Id=joe;Password=11111."For User ID, I created a new user "joe" in the Management Studio.I tried to use this user, but sqlconnection threw an exception stating access was denied.I noticed that SQL Server 2005 has user accounts that you can create for the server and for the database, but I am confused by this. How can a create a non-sa user account that I can give to the SQLConnection object that will work? Do I need to create a user for the server and the same user for the database CDCollection? I am not all familiar with SQL Server administration.Any help or leads would be appreciated.
My SQL Server and MSDE, running under Windows XP, has been operating fault free since a year. Suddenly I cannot connect with the error "SQL Server Does Not Exist or Access Denied". I cannot find anything abnormal in the Client nor the SQL server. The only changes in my PC are done when installing the updates and the problem started after I installed Service Pack 2. Is this just a coincident or could there be some relation with the new Security centre in Service pack 2. I have compared with the same set up in another PC without Service Pack 2 and there everything works fine. Any suggestions please?
I removed MDS web UI which is working before and recreated. I enabled Window Authentication and Disabled Anonymous Authentication in IIS Authentication. I am getting Access denied when I view MDS web Site.
I created a method in the webservice which will take productid as input parameter and return the product number, productname, and vendor account number and vendor name. I was able to run the web service successfully. And also created the assemblies and sp using these assembly.
At the final execution i am getting some security exception

Hi, I have a generally well working silent installer of SQL Server sp1, that installs a named of SQL Express then runs some create database scripts on it.
I have a customer for whom this fails. It appears that the SQL server service does not start. When I tell the client (non-computer literate!) to start it manually through Admin Tools>Service, a message appears saying "Access to the path denied", and seemingly doesn't specify the path of the denial.
Has anyone encountered this, or is anyone able to hazard a guess as to the cause of this issue.
Hi! I understand that this topic is one of the most discussed topics ever. However i could not find the relevant information after going through (almost) all the posts so far. Hence this post. I am getting the 'SQL Server does not exist or access denied' error when I am trying to access SQL Server from a WINDOWS SERVICE. SQL Server and the Windows service are running on two different machines. (When they are on the same machine, it works). All the solutions I found so far are related to web apps. What should I do in the case of a windows service? My connection string uses SQL server authentication. (I tried with windows authentication. Its not working either.). Under what login does windows services run and how can I add it to valid SQL server logins?
I have installed sqlserver 2005 using the standard msdn universal installation discs on my laptop running vista business.
The mssqlserver service will not start automatically as the setup configures it and I cannot start the service manually because I get the 'Access Denied' error message
I am logged on the the computer with adminstration privileges
We are running Reporting Services 2008 R2 on a Windows Server 2008 Standard 64-Bit server. I have a user that has full access to Reporting Services at all folder levels but IS NOT a local administrator on the 2008 server.
This user can create data source connections but when he tries to test the connection by clicking on the 'Test Connection' button, he gets the following error "The permissions granted to user <username> are insufficient for performing this operation.A user that has administrator priveleges on the server can test the connection fine.Â
I don't want to make this user an administrator on the server.Â
This is an extract from the log file:
ibrary!ReportServer_0-24!3478!08/16/2011-13:45:37:: Call to TestConnectForDataSourceDefinitionAction(). library!ReportServer_0-24!3478!08/16/2011-13:45:37:: e ERROR: Throwing Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.AccessDeniedException: , Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.AccessDeniedException: The permissions granted to user <username> are insufficient for performing this operation.;
Please someone tell me, is it possbile to run Reporting service in MS-Access environment? I mean to say i have to use MS-Access as user interface to design and generate report (instead of Visual studio IDE) and the Sql server 2005 should be Report Server. If it is possible then how can i implement it.
I have report that in access 97. When i run that report every morning, it's update technician time, mileage and money. I want that report to be update every min like real time report in sql reporting service.
The main thing i want to know is how to import report from access 97 to sql reporting service. I am not really familiar with reporting services in sql, can you be little more specific where to set up time? The report only update when i run query every morning. Queries and Tables are in access 97. When i tried to migrate tables with ssma, i wan not able to convert all of the query.
I am receiving the following error when attempting to access reporting services... to sum things up real nice and tidy-
I get three login prompts - then the access denied response. It is almost as if it is unable to authenticate the user... anyway... here's the actual error response, I'd really appreciate any input/insight/resolution.

ASP.NET is not authorized to access the requested resource. Consider granting access rights to the resource to the ASP.NET request identity. ASP.NET has a base process identity (typically {MACHINE}ASPNET on IIS 5 or Network Service on IIS 6) that is used if the application is not impersonating. If the application is impersonating via <identity impersonate="true"/>, the identity will be the anonymous user (typically IUSR_MACHINENAME) or the authenticated request user.
To grant ASP.NET access to a file, right-click the file in Explorer, choose "Properties" and select the Security tab. Click "Add" to add the appropriate user or group. Highlight the ASP.NET account, and check the boxes for the desired access.

i have a list report some values of this are blank or null i want to avoid that spacing if it is null like name:jjj lastname kkk firstname address uuuu
i want it should be name jjj lastname kkk address uuuu
I am trying to query a list in sharepoint using its lists.asmx webservice and in turn its GetListItems call. I currently have the call working using the following code in the Querystring for the report
This seems to work fine except that the list has some empty fields in the first record and for some unbelivable reason they (the empty fields) do not get returned as part of the dataset unless i put a value into them. I then came across a parameter for GetListItems called viewFields which is supposed to . Tehn sample Soap request is shown as follows
As i have a parameter for viewfields setup.... What value do i pass to it ??? My XML is in its infancy but i though something along the lines of the following would do as an input.
Also, maybe i am going the wrong way about this.Is there an easier way of defining the Parameters as part of the Querystring or do Parameters always have to be setup in the parameters tab (My Parameter values are static and will never change).
When our production site was deployed on the client's WinServer2003, my webservice is throwing a "server does not exist or access denied" exception. I'm using the same connection string (typed once) as i'm using in my web forms on the user visible sections of the site. the service also works fine on my XP testing machine. unfortunately, I'm not a 2003 admin. If anyone can help, i would greatly appreciate it, trying to find what is misconfigured on the client's server is driving me bonkers.
I am new to both Reporting Services and Webservices implementation so I am just trying to use a simple example. I found a Webservice on the internet that returns movie information:
I have recently upgraded to SQL2014 on Win2012. The Access front end program works fine.
But, previously created Excel reports with built in MS Queries now fail with the above error for users with MS 2013. The queries still work for users still using MS 2007.Â
I also cannot create any new queries and get the same error message. If I log on as myself on the domain to another PC with 2007 installed it works fine, so I don't think it is anything to do with AD groups or permissions.
The SQL Server is installed on SERVER-A. SERVER-A and SERVER-B are Windows 2003 servers on the same Windows 2003 domain. The SQL Server and SQL Server Agent services are running under the domain account SQLSERVICE. SQLSERVICE is a member of the Domain Admins group. The Domain Admins group is part of the local Administrators group on SERVER-B. The SQLSERVICE account has also explicitly been given Full Control to the folder referenced by \SERVER-BSHARE xp_cmdshell use has been enabled on the SQL Server.
If I run the following command in SQL:
exec master.dbo.xp_cmdshell 'whoami'the following is returned: DOMAINSQLSERVICE If I change the command to access the c: drive instead of a network drive, it executes successfully.
Can anyone shed some light on why I still cannot access any of the files in this folder using xp_cmdshell?
I am quite new using SSIS and I have a problem with catching an (SOAP) exception from a Web service task. Some times my web service task can fail and when the web service is failing, it is throwing an exception. When the task succeeds the result is being put into a variable, That part is not a problem.
But catching an exception is. I have tried to use a script task and tried to get exception from the dts object model. I have not yet succeeded on that. But it might be a possible way to go. A different approach might be creating an OnError event on my web service task which I can create a task when triggered. But I have not found any solution yet and I hope some people out there have done this before or have a solution on this.

I'm trying to figure out, how I can solve following problem. I need to generate an overview of a department (parameter) of their employees which have visited a course (2nd parameter) and which haven't. For this I'm working with following tables:
- Employee Data (incl. Unit Code) - Participant Table (one employee can have none, one or more entries - for every participation she/he gets one entry) - Course Table (with details of the course - out of here I need to choose the course)
The participant table is merged to the course table over a course # (primary key in course table). The employee data is merged to the participant table over an employee #.
Which data I can generate until now:
- Participants of the course of the chosen department - Employees which have never visited a course of the chosen department and - Employees which haven't visited the specific course but have visited an other one
---> my problem now, is to get those employees which haven't participated at the specific course but participated in an other one together with the ones which have participated. When I set a filter for the course number "NOT = 224847362" then I receive all those, which have participated in an other course - that's ok - but as mentioned before, an employee can participate in more than just one course. Thus when I make an UNION I get double entries - one for the participation and one for the "participation in an other course".
Everytime this script executes I get the following errors:
at Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Runtime.Variables.get_Item(Object index) at ScriptTask_feac87c947ce4431a4fee0ba0e13631d.ScriptMain.Main() in dts://Scripts/ScriptTask_feac87c947ce4431a4fee0ba0e13631d/ScriptMain:line 25
I have searched this error message but the only thing I found was to set the ReadWrite variable property but I don't know where to set that.
In SAP BI we have capacity for Exception Reporting under BEx Query Designer.
ie · Determining threshold values or intervals that are given a priority (bad, critical, good). The priority given to an exception corresponds to pre-assigned colors that become more €˜intense€™ the greater the deviation. Up to 9 different shades of the traffic light colors red, yellow, and green are used. These traffic light colors are also used in the alert monitor to display the results of exception reporting.
Do we in SSRS have the aforesaid capacity?
I have seen IIF function but it act as a flag not actually color that particular cell or am i missing something.
ie
Code Snippet Color Code =iif(RowNumber(nothing) Mod 2, "Silver","White")
We are using the whole BI-package from Microsoft - from SQL, DTS-package,Raporting Service and Analyze Service.
It should be very helpful to be able to create a metadata databases where you could find all releations between different objects (tables,views,reports,cubes,DTS-package,Databases.
Just to get answer for: 'where is view xxx used', 'what are Report xxx depending upon'.
While everything exists in different SQL databases it should possible to do.
