Mar 30, 2013I am developing a J2ee application in which the the Java servlet communicate with the MS reporting services through URL Access. I am using Apache tomcat as application server to run Java servlets. Servlet gets report name, its parameters and forms an URL and send a request to SSRS. The problem is that the RS is not returning any cookie . And I get [HTTP/1.1 400 Bad Request].
Both my Reporting server and the Tomcat server are running in Same machine. Reporting Services and MS SQL Server 2008 R2 are configured for Windows Integrated authentication.To login to the Reporting server i am using my local system Administrator.

Reporting Services :: Exporting SSRS Reports To PDF
Jun 2, 2015I have generated an invoice report is SSRS. It works correctly via Report Builder and the viewer. However if I then export the report to PDF, it throws the formatting of the report off.
As I have mentioned, it is an invoice report. If I print 1 invoice, and export it, everything exports correctly and all formatting is retained. However if i print off and export multiple invoices (range of Invoice 1 to 4), the 1st invoice is exported correctly, but all subsequent ones are not. In so far that where 1 invoice should be printed on 2 pages of A4 paper, it is spread over 7 pages.
The header is one page, then 1 row is on the second page, then a blank page, then another set of data on another page etc. Is it a problem with the page/report sizing/margins?

Sep 1, 2015I have a Daily Invoice Report that has subscriptions for all customers and is run every night. The report has parameters of @date & @Customer. We had issues with invoices not being sent due to the Owner on the reports was disabled in Active Directory. We do not know how many reports did not get sent out so I am tasked with creating a script to rerun the reports for each day in August. I have queried the subscriptions, but need to figure out how to rerun the reports using the existing parameters set in the subscription, increment the report parameter date, and execute the emailing of the report.
Here is my query that gives me all the subscription information, but how do I rerun the job for all subscriptions for each date in August?

Aug 13, 2015How to manage the progression of SSRS reports from DEV > TEST > USER > PROD...I can see that you COULD manage this all from within VS however then all the control is in the developers hands and even though you can control access with permissions and stuff, its not very user friendly to provide a tester or business area manager or project manager with VS just so they can publish reports as they are approved.Are their any such tools to manage migration between ssrs servers or something that you could have a user test a report and then do something like "approve/promote" it to the next environment, or is this something we would need to create ourselves?
I can see that there are a few things that allow PROJECTS to be migrated (powershell scripts and something about octopus deploy) but these all seem to be too "big" for our organisation - we generally develop reports as a "logical group" (project) but migrate them individually or in VERY small groups (5 is probably the maximum), however keeping tabs on what report is at what version in what environment is causing our DBA massive migranes...Maybe there is something we can do from TFS or perhaps we need to build a utility app?

May 28, 2015I have 6 SSRS reports for account receivable module. All of these 6 reports are for one specific business requirement. The difference between these reports are layout, number of columns and styles. I want user to choose one from these 6 reports based on their requirement.
When user clicks the menu in their application to initiate the report, Is there any way that the SSRS show list of these reports in a window so that user can choose one of them?
As I am working on a 3rd party ERP application, I cannot provide a form or window in that ERP to choose one report out of these 6 reports. I believe that there is a way to do this in Crystal report, but do not know how to do this in SSRS.
Reporting Services :: SSRS 2008 R2 BIS Deploy Does Not Always Clear Cached Reports
Jul 19, 2011Is there a known problem with BIS Deploy not clearing cache. I repeatly (but not always) have an issue where I will do a BIS Deploy of an RDL but when I run it, the old report runs. I can't clear this out until I explicitly log into the Report Manager and explicitly delete the RDL and re-deploy from the BIS.
Is there a workaround, fix, process change, configuration change I can do to keep this from happening?

Jul 8, 2015We have a Report Server integrated with SharePoint. A month ago we deployed a report (rdl file) in SharePoint, but the person who deployed it was no longer connected with us. So we decided to deactivate it in our Active Directory. Yesterday, our users returned issues regarding they are unable to access their report. I believe the issue was "object reference not set to an instance of an object".
So I tried to download the rdl file and redeployed it but i am getting error upon deploying to SharePoint. My workaround is to delete the rdl file in SharePoint, redeploy the shared datasource and shared datasets and the rdl file. It went and was now able to run the report in SharePoint.
Is there something relation/happened when deactivating the account in AD that users unable to access the report in SharePoint?

Sep 21, 2015I have created a custom library(CodeLibrary) which internally references the dlls Microsoft.TeamFoundation.Client and Microsoft.TeamFoundation.WorkItemTracking.Client.
I added this custom Dll codelibrary.dll to my SSRS report. and the expression of one of the field as
=codelibrary.codefunction.GetValue(1000)
codefunction is the class and GetValue is the method.
When I preview the report, I get the error "Error while loading code module:
'CodeLibrary,Version=1.0.0.0,Culture=neutral,PublicKeyToken=null'. Could not load file or assembly 'CodeLibrary,Version1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral,PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified."
I am using VS2013, I have placed the custom library DLL in the path
C:Program FilesMicrosoft Visual Studio 12.0Common7IDEPrivateAssemblies
I have tested the custom library with a WPF application and it works fine.
I am not able to figure out what is causing this error.

Sep 22, 2015I have a dashboard page that I would like to load fast. But I would also like the user to be able to run the report On-Demand. The report has start date and end date parameters which default to the first and last day of last month. If I use a Cache plan that loads at 6AM the report runs with the default parameters set in the report, the user has to wait until it completes before they can change the parameters.
If I uncheck "use default" parameters in the report I lose the ability to set a cache refresh plan with the default parameters because the option is greyed out. So is there anyway outside of creating a second copy of the report to allow a user to open a report, change the parameters and run it, but also have a way to schedule some sort of Cached report for the default parameters so I can put that on a WebPart page that would load instantly?

Nov 18, 2015I just setup a developer as a site admin in SSRS, he has administration rights to the site and also rights on folders that contain reports. He can access the reports folders no problem, however when he tries to access the "Home" folder he get's the error shown below.
UAC is switched off an other people are able to access this ok.

May 8, 2015I tried creating one simple bar chart report in SSRS, with background fill with pattern "UpwardDiagonal", the stripes on the column when viewed insider report viewer control is quite prominently visible, whereas when exporting the same report to PDF the lines are very thin and dense and hence makes it very difficult to differentiate between one column with pattern inside and one without. I have even tried various other pattern like "LightUpwardDiagonal" and "WideUpwardDiagonal" but all have same result when exported to PDF.why?

Reporting Services :: Access Denied Error When Testing Data Source Connection In SSRS 2008
Aug 16, 2011We are running Reporting Services 2008 R2 on a Windows Server 2008 Standard 64-Bit server. I have a user that has full access to Reporting Services at all folder levels but IS NOT a local administrator on the 2008 server.
This user can create data source connections but when he tries to test the connection by clicking on the 'Test Connection' button, he gets the following error "The permissions granted to user <username> are insufficient for performing this operation.A user that has administrator priveleges on the server can test the connection fine.
I don't want to make this user an administrator on the server.

Access Reports To SSRS

I have a project that is already in MS Access that has many reports and I must develop the same project in .NET with SSRS for the reports. By seeing the same scenario in these forums I imported by right clicking on the project name, all the reports from Access have been imported..
My question is, that will the imported reports from MS ACCESS will be the same as that of the reports we will generate in SSRS? and can I use them as final reports. And call these reports in my .Net code..Is there any article regarding this please provide so that I can read and learn how to use that.. And for each .rdl files the data set si coming as dataset1...can we change the dataset name?..Please repond..ASAP.
