Reporting Services :: Can Remove Trailing 0s From Decimal Numbers?
Nov 2, 2015
I'm building an invoice report in visual studio for use with MS Dynamics CRM Online. The "quantity" field I reference from the database contains a decimal number with a precision of 2 (i.e - 0.25, 0.50, 0.75, 1.00) due to how I charge my clients as they can purchase 0.25 hours of support for example.
The problem is that I also sell other items that don't require a decimal place in the quantity field and "1 x website design" would look a lot better than "1.00 x website design".
format the quantity field on my report so that it will remove the 0's and the decimal place ONLY when all the numbers after the decimal place are 0. So, to clarify:
1.00 should become 10.25 should stay as 0.250.50 should stay as 0.50 instead of it changing to 0.5 (I can live with 0.5 if 0.50 is a deal breaker.)
Version 2.2.32.7 1.0.0.0 2.0.0.0 1.2.0.0 2.1.8.8 1.4.11.0
I want to sort this field interactively.I have already sorted other fields, but as this field is text but has decimal data, its not sorting properly. How do I do this correctly? Once sorted ascending, report should show
Version 1.0.0.0 1.2.0.0 1.4.11.0 2.0.0.0 2.1.8.8 2.2.32.7
I'm trying to change the background color in a field based on its number value being greater than another number value in an adjacent field. The issue I am having is the format, it's like a software version string or IP address (in this case, it is A/V Signature Versions) where the length of the numbers between the decimal places can be different, and that seems to throw off the comparison.
For example (these are actual values I am comparing);
1.201.1054.0 should evaluate as greater than 1.201.2.0 but when compared, evaluates as FALSE.
I wanted to convert a dataset from vb.net (2.0) to an .XLS file, by MS Jet. My national standard is using decimal commas, not decimal points for numbers signing the beginning of decimal places. But the MS Jet Engine uses decimal point,in default. Therefore, in the Excel file only string formatted cells can welcome this data, not number formatted. How can I solve or get around this problem? (with jet if it possible) iviczl
Would someone mind helping me with formatting a string please?? I have a column DECIMAL(4,2). In a stored proc I am selecting this field and converting it to varchar so I can append certain characters to it (this is really irrelevant to my question). However, before appending the characters, I need to remove zeros after the decimal point. Examples: 3.00 should be 3 3.20 should be 3.2 3.05 should be 3.05 etc
HiI use SqlServer 2000I am doing a select and sending the results, which is a cast() intodecimal (9,3), in an email to various other users of our system.Problem is that a number like 95.2 is display as 95.200. Is there anyway I can trim it so that it will display 95.2 ?David
I have a column of type Decimal(14, 4) in my SQL server 2005 database. When producing the result set on this column, i need to convert the values to varchar datatype and also i do not want the trailing zeroes to be displayed. For eg: If the value stored is 98.7500, my select query should provide an output of 98.75. Similarly if the value stored is 98.0000, my select query should output 98.
I tried converting the value to "float" and then assigning to varchar data, however doing so i am incurring precision loss in some scenarios See below:
Declare @ele as varchar(25)
Select @ele = Convert(float, 99999.9990)
select @ele
Output I received: 100000 Output I wanted: 99999.999 Are there any in-built functions in SQL to achieve what I need?
Filtrate the value in the column by using filter function..I get error message due to decimal and double. How should I convert to value 55 into double or decimal? Today, I'm using SSRS 2012.
I have a decimal data type column with a record in the following format 20150219 --> yyyyMMdd. And I am trying to convert the return value from SSRS date/time parameter to a decimal value.
The TMDTOP column is the decimal data type with date records in yyyyMMdd format.
I'm putting Interval 50 and Maximum 100 in Vertical Axis Property but by default 0 is coming. I unchecked mark of Always include Zero Box and Minimum is Auto. But still I'm getting 0 in Vertical Axis Chart in SSRS.
I have a stacked bar chart which i notice a vertical line char. how can i removed this vertical line? I already modified the properties under smart labels under calloutlineanchor, calloutlinestyle, calloutstyle to None but still getting this vertical lines. another things is the data label as you can see in the the first column the 1.8% should be place under the gray color but its already shown before the orange color.
I have SSRS report that has around 80+ columns. I have requirement where in dynamically hideshow columns in report based on user selection. I could able to do it by setting expression for "Visiblity" property and having report parameter thro' which columns to display can be choosen.
My problem is 2 points
1. fox example if columns 2 and 4 to be hidden, then there is an empty column between 1 and 3 and 5 columns. How to avoid this
2. When i export to PDF / Excel these spaces prevail.
I have a dataset in my report that pulls 10 fields. One of the tablixes on report should display only 8 of the 10 fields and this is causing the duplicate records to show up on the tablix.I tried hide duplicates option for the entire details row and have set the scope to "Details". It did not work. I am getting the data from a stored procedure and cannot do much on that.
I have some duplicate values for my query results, about 200 duplicates out of 30000 rows. Of these 200 duplicates I want to keep the ones that have a higher value for... 'UpdatedBatchID'.
SELECT IR.Id as 'ID' , CAST(IR.Priority as varchar) as 'Priority' , IRSupportGroupDN.DisplayName as 'Support Group' , DATEADD(MI,DATEDIFF(mi,GETUTCDATE(),GETDATE()),IR.CreatedDate) as 'Created Date' , DATEADD(MI,DATEDIFF(mi,GETUTCDATE(),GETDATE()),IR.ResolvedDate) as 'Resolved Date' , SLOConfig.DisplayName as 'SLO' , DATEADD(MI,DATEDIFF(mi,GETUTCDATE(),GETDATE()),SLOFact.TargetEndDate) as 'SLO Target' , SLOStatusDN.DisplayName as 'SLO Status' , SLOMetric.DisplayName as 'SLO Metric' , SLOFact.UpdatedBatchId as 'UpdatedBatchID'
I created a subreport1 with tablix.I created second subreport2 that has a tablix and one column chart and both are placed in a rectangle. No page break is applied to this rectangle. When I run the sub report, both tablix and Column chart are displayed on one page .
I created a main report and added Subreport 1 and Subreport 2 in 2 different rectangles. I set page break property of Rectangle(Subreport1) to End and no page break is applied to Rectangle of Subreport2.
When I run the main report, subreport1 is displayed in one page, subreport2 is displayed in 2 different pages.
I wanted to remove duplicate records from SSRS report. I set the "Hide Duplicates" to True. It is now working, But i am getting the space between the two records, which i want to get rid of. How to get rid of extra spaces between two records ( Please find the details below).
Is it possible to remove the tick marks that I have circled in red?The chart has data Week by week over a year, and the T1, T2 etc are equivalent to Quarter1, Quarter 2 etcI've got a 3 level grouping, with the top level being Year, then Quarter, then Week. The label for the "Week" grouping is set to blank, and that's why you don't see it here.Removing the Tick marks would make the chart legend more readable in my opinion.
Hi, I have a decimal field in SQL Server 2000 which has a precision value of 3 and scale 1. I will be storing values ranging from 0.5 to 10.0 in there. However, in my asp.net web form, if I select the value 2.5 from the DropDownList, SQL Server stores it as 3. Can anyone tell me why this is happening and give me some pointers on what I can do to fix it? Your help is much appreciated.
