Reporting Services :: Cannot Enable Schedule For Power View Report
May 18, 2015
I have a couple of Power View reports that I cannot enable the data refresh schedule for. I cannot pinpoint what caused the schedule to stop working but the scheduled data refresh for these reports used to work and now they don't. Every time I try to enable a schedule the page submits and it seems like everything worked (no errors). However, when I go back to the schedule page for the report the Enable checkbox is unchecked. There are other Power View reports that are scheduled and running just fine. The only error I can track down in the SharePoint logs is this:
Failed to remove workbook tracking handle from collection for workbook
I've tried making a copy of the file and re-uploading with a different name but nothing changes. The user would really rather not recreate the report from scratch.
I have a power view report with some filters. I want some of the Filters to be just Single Value Select Filters like dropdowns instead of Multi-Select ,as multiple selected values can show garbage data. Also it is very inconvenient for the end user to keep unchecking/clearing the previously selected value and then select the appropriate value. Is there a workaround or is it a limitation that has yet to be addressed???
I have a SQL 2012 SP1 environment integrated with SharePoint 2013. I have deployed a Multi-Dimensional Cube, due to the need for role playing dimensions and numerous parent-child hierarchies that can't be 'flattened' out easily, it's for this reason that we have gone multi-dimensional, rather than tabular.
The issue I now face is trying to plot the data on a map in Power View. It has to via Longitude and Latitude or easting and northing if possible. I know if I use PowerPivot, I can query the MD Cube, get my dataset and make sure the model views the lat/long as coordinates and this method works just fine - however, it involves an extra step, the end user must pre-build their query in PowerPivot before they can use the Power View maps and adhoc analysis, this can create a lot of back and forth when refining your query or performing additional 'what if' analysis.
When I create the Report Data Source in SharePoint to connect directly to the MD Cube, rather than going through Power Pivot, it's able to connect, but does not recognise the lat and long fields as Latitude and longitude, nor will it let me manually drag it into the lat and long fields on the field list. If I drag them into the 'location' section, it does not plot correctly.
How to get Power View to plot Latitude and Longitude from a Multi-Dimensional Source without having to go through PowerPivot?
I have several reports in a Power View Gallery. In Gallery view, most of the reports show the "Open New Excel Workbook", the "Create Power View Report", and the "Manage Data Refresh" buttons on the right side of the report list. Why would some reports not have these buttons available? In the attached image you can see one report with the buttons and one without the buttons.
In Report Builder 1.0 you could drag a column to a filter and see the data before select the values for the filter.I can't find a way to do that in report builder 3.0. is it possible to see the data of a column in Report builder or SSRS?
When I am working on an Integrations Services project and I open a Reporting Services file, it displays it in the Code view. Is there a way to display it in the Design view? Or do I have to close the project and open up a Reporting Services project?
I am trying to show images in a product listing in power view.I work with an excel 2013 desktop version based on an office 365 pro account.I did the following steps:
import of an excel file with an article list via power query and loading the data to the data model import jpg images from a folder via power query, setting content as binary type and loading the data to the data modellinking both tables in power pivot--> manage via the image namesetting the table behavior for the images table under power pivot --> manage --> Advanced (e.g. Default Image: Content)opening power view and building article cards with article number and imageProblem: only a camera icon shows up in power view
Is there a solution with a desktop version? Can I use my Office 365 Pro account to make it work? How?Why is there no solution showing images in a pivot table?Link to Dropbox with power pivot files
I added the row group to show up as the tree view in the left side of the report. But I need it to display the records in the report detail for just that group value for the records when I clicked the group value from the tree view list.
Currently, it‘s not doing that. It takes me to that page where the group value is listed but it lists all other records too (which I don't want).
Has anyone encounted a problem with Reporting Services (2005) with the following scenario: A report with a dropdown parameter allowing a Select All choice -
If the selection list is fairly long and Select All is selected - if the user clicks the View Report button the selection list is completely reset (i.e. all items are unselected). This seems to happen if the user quickly clicks the View Report button immediately after clicking the Select All box on the parameter dropdown.
This happens inconsistently - some users experience it frequently while others do not see it at all (using the same parameter values, etc.)
I have an SSRS 2005 report that I want to enable for multi value. However, I always run into the issue with the way it passes multiple values. How exactly do I get a multi-value parameter setup and working on both the report AND SQL side?I used the MS example of checking the multi checkbox for the parameter and then using a WHERE Column IN (@MultiParam), but this doesn't work. When you select one item, or is it multiple I can't remember, it fails.
I need add an report of type "Power View" in Web Part of Site of Sharepoint. What is category chose in Web Parts to add an report of type Power View ?My objective is create an tree menu with links to specific sites (created for me) that have web parts with "Power View".
Getting Cannot PIN SSRS Chart...Server Error: The item "Dashboard deleted 9e0c7443-406d-4435-aaf3-8c7d5a47b7db" cannot be found. (rsItemNot Found).Yet, the list in the drop down populates the list of dashboards from Power BI (loading).Dashboard in Power BI works fine.
I'm a relative newcomer to Power View. I've been playing with charts and have been struggling to combine both line and bar on the same chart. It would appear this functionality is not available. Considering this is basic functionality when it comes to charting, how to achieve this....
At the Moment we use SQL Server 2008 R2 Std. with Reporting Services. I want to change the individual schedules (non-shared) for 170 subscriptions without using the web Interface.
I tried to change table entries for dbo.Schedule and dbo.Subscriptions but the reports did not run. I also know that here are Jobs in the SQL Server Agent for the schedules. Now I need to understand how the mechanism works that updates the job entries from database tables. Is there a stored procedure which can be used?
Is there a way to restrict the subscriptions to use Shared Schedule only? We want to make sure that we manage the schedules and they'll only run the subscriptions during the off peak hours.
I just created a report builder. I have a main report and i wanted to create a sub report. why i cant or i cant view the path or the folder of my .rdl file to be use as my sub report.
Our DBA has installed reporting services on a server and now in order to access the report manager, one has to be an Admin on that Server. I am guessing that there is a mistake in the configuration of Reporting Services. Usually it should allow anybody who was added to the roles in the properties section of the Report Manager, right? I have also added the users to the DB..
Also I am using Windows Authentication to access Report Catalog items (Reporting Services is installed on Server2) from a web Application(deployed on Server1) and displaying the report using report viewer. For some reason, server1 has to be in an Admin role on Server2 to access the report catalog/report. This is kinda strange for me as I don't want everybody to be an Admin on Server2. Can anybody please point in the right direction?
I have uploaded excel report with data model , but when i click on ,anage data refresh link it is showing shedular disable. I have check logs then I am getting analytics server connection time out error.
Right now architecture of system having different analytics server and sharepoint server is also different. Any better solution due to which i can able to schedule my reports.
I work almost 1 month to try to fix this issue, but still failed.(In my test server, it's working). seem like I have 2 problem.
1. My SQL server analysis service(PowerPivot) service mode is "Multidimensional", in my test server, this is SharePoint mode.
2. After upload PowerPivot worksheet, I check the analysis service, No this sheet DB save in. in "Analysis Server Properties", I add "sp_admin" name that I use this name to install PowerPivot add-in.
I have done the following and a domain user would not access report created a login to the SQL server to the user (this SQL Server is where data source DB is)went to site setting in Report Manager and made this use a system userright clicked on report folder and made this user in the browser roleeven checked that in the report in question, the user is already in the browser role Still the user would not access the report! "User .......... does not have required permission" is the error message I am getting.
