I need to fill the cell background color in the Matrix Table SSRS report based on below requirement -
When
For A resource 'Capacity' equals to 'WorkExcludingCapacityAndAvailbility' and Project Status equals to OPEN then GREEN
When
For A resource 'Capacity' equals to 'WorkExcludingCapacityAndAvailbility' and Project Status equals to PENDING then RED
Here is the below mock-up data -
Looking for solution based on above mockup data how I can compare different rows value by resource considering Project Status Column value in Matrix Table report to set the background color.

I need to determine if a value for a group of rows is the same or different and I am not sure where to begin. I am fairly new to writing T-Sql code. I am working with SQL Server 2005. This is a work assignment; I am not a student.
I have two tables: One for Course and another for CourseDays. As the Course table implies, it lists courses for a school. The CourseDays tables has a row for each day a course is held. For instance, one course maybe held on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, so there would be three rows, one row for each day. A given course could be held in a different room for each day. I am trying to write a query that returns one row for each course, and if the room number is the same for each day the class is held, return that room number in the row, else return 'Various'.
Course table:
CourseID, Desc
1 English
2 History
3 Science
CourseDays table:
CourseID, Day, RoomID
1 M 320
1 W 445
1 F 680
2 T 123
2 Th 123

Expected results:

I simplified the example, as there are about 30 columns in the table and about half a million rows.

So basically it checks the previous months value and uses that to determine which indicator to use ?

Here's what I need to do..
1. I have a dataset with userID's
2. I want to only show the records where a userID is a member of a specific AD group,
I'm not allowed to use a linked server. I was able to make a datasource in SSDT that connects to AD, but I don't know where to begin with the dataset expression in the SSRS report.

I'm trying to change the background color in a field based on its number value being greater than another number value in an adjacent field. The issue I am having is the format, it's like a software version string or IP address (in this case, it is A/V Signature Versions) where the length of the numbers between the decimal places can be different, and that seems to throw off the comparison.
For example (these are actual values I am comparing);
1.201.1054.0 should evaluate as greater than 1.201.2.0 but when compared, evaluates as FALSE.

My Requirement IS : 1<sup>st</sup>run: if the record does not exist in the table insert the record (file_name, last_modified_file_date) and create a copy in the archive folder with file_name_currentdate.csv
Daily run: retrieve the last_modified_file_date from the input file and check if the retrieved date is greater than the last_modified_file_date in the table:
If true: create a copy of the input file in the archive folder and update the last_modified_file_date in the table with the retrieved date
If false don’t do nothing because the file has been archived in one of the previous runs.I have already retrieving the modified date and File Nae iserting into Filename Table: (That table has 2 columns which are FileName and FileDate) so In script task everytime the variable getting Modified date(retrieve the last_modified_file_date from the input file). How I can Compre the existing table record and variable. I have already imported the all Filenames and Modified into table like below.

I am creating a report in SSRS which has the following criteria:
- Row 1 (parent) is 'Product'
- Row 2 (child) is 'Feed'
- Columns are date. I have 5 dates showing at any one time across the top. The date field is set up as a parameter so depending on the date the user selects, the report will show that date on the end column and then the 4 days prior to that in the other columns.
- Data is the number of records.
I have a sub total on the Product and the report is collapsed on Product as default.
What i'm stuck on is trying to insert a column at the very end that will show the variance between the last two dates. So the difference between the date the user selected (@date parameter) and the day before that.

In ssrs how can i have a report showing closing value = Opening+Addition-Sale in current row (it is simple for 1st row ). this closing be the opening value in next row and same formula to be continued...

I have dataset ready having sales rep ID and other column like customer ID, company name, Email adress and transaction month as shown above how can i make a row group by sales rep id and each tab (when we export report to excel) I mean one tab for A sales repID , another tab for B...I did row group parent group and group by sales repID but not working as expected.

I have created a query that is suppose to display the results of opportunities won during a time period the user selects.
When I run the report, I get 5 rows of the exact same result.
How come I am getting this?

I have the following variables VehicleID, TransactDate, TransactTime, OdometerReading, TransactCity, TransactState.
VehicleID is the unique vehicle ID, OdometerReading is the Odometer Reading, and the others are information related to the transaction time and location of the fuel card (similar to a credit card).
The records will be first grouped and sorted by VehicleID, TransactDate, TransactTime and OdometerReading. Then all records where the Vehicle ID and TransactDate is same for consecutive rows, AND TransactCity or TransactState are different for consecutive rows should be printed.
I also would like to add two derived variables.
1. Miles will be a derived variable that is the difference between consecutive odometer readings for the same Vehicle ID.
2. TimeDiff will be the second derived variable that will categorize the time difference for a particular vehicle on the same day.
My report should look like:
VehID TrDt TrTime TimeDiff Odometer Miles TrCity TrState
1296 1/30/2008 08:22:42 0:00:00 18301 000 Omaha NE
1296 1/30/2008 15:22:46 7:00:04 18560 259 KEARNEY NE

I have a report I'm designing where, as a simple SQL report viewed only on a screen, it was irrelevant how wide it was. However, now I've been asked to duplicate this report in SSRS and to include the option to print it out.
Well, the problem is, as it stands - with 8pt font, even - it will require a sheet of paper about 24" wide to get all of a single row to print.
So, I'm trying to create a Tablix that will split the data into two sets of header/detail rows in the same Tablix. Any workable solution that doesn't involve writing an app in basic or C.

I need the tablix that is not displaying data not to be as big as the one's that are in lighter terms.

How do I decrease the size of the tablix if no data is displaying so it co inside's with the rest of the tablix as in this image.
I have
1. Right-click the tablix and select Properties.
2. Click Visibility.
3. Select Show or hide based on an expression.
But I return, A hidden expression in textbox returned a datatype that is not valid.
I don't want to hide or show based on the result I just require that the tablix that doesn't return data stay's in proportion with the rest.

I have an SSRS report I'm working on. I have Row Groups plus details.
A) How can I get the row group headers to repeat on every line?
B) I would still like to use the drill down, click the plus sign, and have that work when I export to excel.
Here is the report header: URL....My first thought was is there a way simply to cause the header to repeat. I cannot find that anywhere to do that.My second though was to split the cells and copy the fields to all the rows.Here is the same header with split cells:URL....two problems.
A) I cannot split one cell; See the "X" in the second capture.
B) How do I still hid the rows until I drill down.

I am fairly new to reporting services and recently created a simple tabular report. There is one table which queries the database and I would like to change the table so there are more than 25 rows of data per page. How do I do this? Also it would be advantageous to know how to set the report to only create a new page for every different item in a column. E.g., if I have various data for each date, I would like to only create a new page when the date changes so that all data for a specific date is on one page etc etc.

Our division has approximately 300 employees. We have an annual shift bid where seniority is calculated using Date of Hire. If 2 or more employees share the same Date of Hire then we fall back to Date of Application. Currently the SSRS report does a very simple query and shows all the employees in order of their Date of Hire. If they match then it sorts the matching Date of Hire entries alphabetically by the employee name. It then becomes the task of the scheduler to locatethe entries with the same Date of Hire and manually look up the employees' dates of applications then sort them accordingly and re-write the report.
Goal:
Convert the manual process into an automatic process by modifying the current SSRS report.
Data:
The dataset is "DivDir" which contains the following fields: "EmpName", "DofHire", & "AppDate".
EmpName DofHire AppDate
Adam ...... 12/2/1996 11/15/1996
Bob ..... .... 1/16/1997 12/27/1996
Charlie ....... 1/16/1997 12/12/1996
Dan ...... ... 4/11/2001 3/22/2001
In the above example I want the SSRS report to list the employees in this order: Adam, Charlie, Bob, Dan.How do I do this programmatically using SSRS?

I have a dataset in my report that pulls 10 fields. One of the tablixes on report should display only 8 of the 10 fields and this is causing the duplicate records to show up on the tablix.I tried hide duplicates option for the entire details row and have set the scope to "Details". It did not work. I am getting the data from a stored procedure and cannot do much on that.

how to create indented child rows under the parent, in SSRS report. I am quite new to SSRS, the group by function works in a different (and obvious) way then what I want.I have a sample dataset as below.

I have one SSRS report which uses drill down "+" approach. The records will be opening only when you click on the "+" sign. There are 3 levels of "+" sign in the report. All records are included when exporting to excel. Is it possible to exclude all the records? Can we show only the opened records.?

We have SharePoint list which has, say, two columns. Column A and Column B.
Column A can have three values - red, blue & green.
Column B can have four values - pen, marker, pencil & highlighter.
A typical view of list can be:
