Reporting Services :: Dataset Doesn't Refresh Data In SSRS
Nov 2, 2009
the Dataset in my report doesn't update the fields' values from the database. I refresh the dataset manualy in the SQL Server Business Intelligence Development Studio to see the new values in the report.
I 've done a store procedure(SP), one for 7 report's. The problem that i have is that the dataset doesn't refresh cols from the SP, how can i do ..i need all the columnsi n order to put them in the report.
I'll go to a dataset, open up the query designer, add a new parameter, then refresh the fields, but the parameter won't be added as a report parameter. If I go to the dataset properties under the list of parameters, the value in the dropdown will be blank. However, sometimes this will automatically add.
Is this a bug in Visual Studio? How do I get around this?
I have a report with multiple datasets, the first of which pulls in data based on user entered parameters (sales date range and property use codes). Dataset1 pulls property id's and other sales data from a table (2014_COST) based on the user's parameters.
I have set up another table (AUDITS) that I would like to use in dataset6. This table has 3 columns (Property ID's, Sales Price and Sales Date). I would like for dataset6 to pull the Property ID's that are NOT contained in the results from dataset1. In other words, I'd like the results of dataset6 to show me the property id's that are contained in the AUDITS table but which are not being pulled into dataset1. Both tables are in the same database.
I have used SSRS to develop several dashboards for use with Microsoft CRM.
This works very well: the main dashboard page contains a table with subreports in the table cells.
Some of those subreports show reports containing other subreports, and so on.
Drilldowns into detailed lists and into the CRM entities are popup windows.
The problem I’m having now is with a report that is supposed to show the viewers their planned and completed activities on a week-by-week basis. They see a week at a time, and by pressing Next and Back arrows they can see their next and previous weeks’ information.
I need this subreport to refresh in place on the main dashboard page when they change weeks. I’ve tried putting jump-to-report actions and jump-to-url actions on my Next and Back arrow objects, but everything I try opens a new window.
I want the main dashboard to stay accessible, but I don’t want to have to redisplay the whole dashboard page, because that would rerun all of the reports’ queries and take unnecessary time. The only query that needs to be rerun is for the one subreport I’m refreshing.
Any way to refresh a subreport within the parent report?
I have created multiple data sources and datasets in my SSrS project. I created the datasets so I could use them as the basis for reports. However, when I open the wizard to create a new report, I am always asked for a data source, and then have to renter the SQL code that I have stored in one of my datasets. How can I have a report use an existing dataset as it source of data? Otherwise, the datasets I created seem useless . . .
When I click on the DataSet Query Desginer there is an Error Source:.NetSqlClient Data Provider. why this error comes and I have executed the SQL query in SSMS succesfully and the result comes. However this is causing the report from the report manager to fail.
I have a parameter that chooses its available items from a query (with a label and a value column). I set the default for the parameter to the a particular value.
It works in Preview from design mode, but when I deploy it and run the report, it does not set the default.
For the past couple of days I've been having an issue with Reporting Services. From what I can understand reporting services doesn't work well when exporting to word.
The scenario is quite simple, I am developing a report for a client with a 'master page', which works as the cover, and executes 2 sub-reports with one table each, nothing fancy. We don't export this report to pdf, because the internal client has to attach another report that is impossible to automate, so they generate that report via excel and integrate it on our word document before sending the document to their business partners.
Our main problem is that we can't export the header/footers to word.
I am creating a simple SSRS table report through Report Builder. My dataset is looking for the stored procedure . When I execute the Stored procedure through SSMS I get resutset for certain parameters. I execute the dataset (Store procedure) through query designer in dataset properties and I get results back. But when I try to run the report and see the preview, I do not get any results displayed. I been looking on the same issue form last 3-4 days and have not found any clue.
Following is the stored procedure I am using. Also I am passing multivalued parameter through report as well, and I am using spilt function to seperate the libraryid I am reading from parameter values. This works fine. I have similar kind of four other reports and with different stored procedure which exactly follow the same method , like multivalue parameters and other criteria are also very similar. All other reports works just fine.. This perticular report has issue for displying results, following is the stored procedure I am using
I am facing sever Refresh issue in PPS Reports. I have Two Dashboard
Dashboard_One and Dashboard_Two
I have few Filters on both the Dashboard .
In Dashboard_One I have 2 Filters
1)Year filter where Year 2012 is my Default value 2)City Filter where "CityOne" is Default Filter Value
If I select Year"2010" in Period Filter and "CityTwo" In City Filter.I see Related reports . Now I navigate to Dashboard_Two to See Other Reports where I have few Other Filter Like "Country" where I select "CountryThree" . When I navigate Back to Dashboard_one I do not see Dashboard with Default value given to them
I still see Filter value Year=2010 and CountryFilter="CountryTwo" in Dashboard Dashboard_One .. where as I should have seen it based on the Default value given to the Filter.. How should I resolve this refresh issue which I am facing in PPS Dashboard. I do not see Default value in the Filter ,It always give the filter value which was selected later when Navigated back.
I found out the data I need for my SQL Report is already defined in a dynamic dataset on another web service. Is there a way to use web services to call another web service to get the dataset I need to generate a report? Examples would help if you have any, thanks for looking
I want to run SSRS report directly by connecting Excel as a data source. The report runs properly from SSDT, but when it is run from Report manager, some users cannot access the Excel connection and the report execution fails. I am using SSRS 2012 and Excel 2010.I have created the ODBC data connection in SSRS and when I use 'Windows Integrated Security' option for credentials, the connection gets successful. But the problem is that all users does not have permissions to access the Excel inline, but they should get the report working. How can I store the credentials to access the Excel in SSRS with a specific username and password?
I have written a sql query which gives me data in report in below format..Need to display data in following format
Client data row has nothing to do with address data row Client are just a distinct list of Client and do not line up with any address . In other words, the order and vertical alignment have nothing to do with the address on the right.
In SSRS report genertion using store proc based on years, retrieving the data of previous and current year details. In the middle of data, I have to add sub tax total and sub total amount from previous and current year.
I have added sub total tax and sub total in database for previous and current year totals.
Below are the current results Expected results:
Currently I'm working on a few SSRS reports which will be exported to CSV.
In some of the fields e.g. "Description" the data can contain carriage return and line feed characters (CR LF). SO when that happens the csv export breaks the line and rest of the data from that fields goes into the net line. This creates a few undesirable line breaks.
I can always replace these characters from that fields.
Is there a way I keep those characters in the field and still my csv export come up fine.
I am looking for a good tutorial on how to set up Data Driven subscriptions through the SharePoint 2012 version of SSRS. I am needing to set up a Data Driven subscription that uses one report, but sends out the specific portion of the report to the appropriate recipients. I have used the information located at URL.... but it doesn't seem to provide all the steps needed to schedule the reports needed. It focuses around setting up the reports to go to shared folder locations. I need something around setting it up to go to email recipients.
Is it possible to set the parameter option to "Select all" after the options in the parameter have been filtered by another parameter? For example:
Parameter Area contains Europe, North America, South America. Parameter Country contains the country's that are in Europe, North America and South America.
When the Area Parameter is set to Europe, the country parameter only contains the country's that are in Europe. When you want to see the complete dataset in the report again, you change the Area Parameter to Europe, North America and South America again, and press view report.
Then the Country Parameter only has the country's that are in Europe selected, so the dataset is still filtered to the European country's. Is it possible to automatically set the country parameter to select all after the Area parameter has been se back to all Area's again?
Parameter 1 = Date Period ex. 20081102 Parameter 2 = Start Date ex. 11/02/2008 Parameter 3 = End Date ex. 12/02/2008 Parameter 4 = Description ex. Period 20081102
For Parameter 2 and 3 it will have available values in a Date Range ex. for Period 20081102 it will have a date range for Parameter 2 = from 10/02/2008 - 12/02/2008 for Parameter 3 it will have from 11/02/2008 - 12/02/2008
The process flow goes like this:
1. I'll select value from parameter 1 2. Automatically parameter 2,3 and 4 should display corresponding values. 3. It works well on first try 4. if i'll try selecting another value for Parameter 1, 5. As expected it should display again the corresponding values for the 3 parameters but Parameter 2 is retaining the value for the previous Parameter.
Why is it happening? Does it have something to do with the date range? How does the sequencing for RS happens? This scenario happens when date ranges for each Date Period have common values.
I have a SSRS report that uses a custom library. The custom library returns a string values, and I have tested this with a windows application. In the SSRS report. I have set the expression value for a text box as =CodeReportingLibrary.CodeReportingFunctions.GetImage(1232)
However, when i preview the report the text box value shows as #ERROR. I checked the error list and I get a warning message : Warning 1 [rsRuntime ErrorIn Expression] The Value expression for the textrun ‘Textbox5.Paragraphs[0].TextRuns[0]’ contains an error: Attempt by security transparent method 'CodeReportingLibrary.CodeReportingFunctions.GetReferenceImage(Int32)' to access security critical method 'Microsoft. In order to access security critical code, this assembly must be fully trusted.
I have updated the rssrvpolicy.config in ReportServer folder, to include my custom dll.
