Has anyone ever worked with the Reporting Services Device Information Settings (Render or HTML method) If so, were do I begin. I have read all of the articles and have xml examples but I don't know where to start?
Do I make the change in SSRS?
Do I make the change on the field that I want to alter?
Do I make the change on the report header properties?
What is the first step?
I want to change the excel device info parameter settings simplepageheaders = true. How would I go about doing this?
I developed a report in development environment, which will later be deployed to QA, Staging and then Production. This report has more than 10 datasets and if the report is moved through each of the databases, datasource has to be changed for all the datasets. is there anyway that I can do it globally, what i mean is can i set up any configuration files which I can use in QA, Staging and Production.
We are having trouble finding a lot of documentation around configuring the Funnel chart. Specifcally, we would like to know if there's an option to be able to place the lengend title on the actual Funnel layer. Also, we would like to be able to control the order of the funnel layers to match a business process order from top to bottom. It would appear that the Funnel defaults to aphabetical ordering of the layers. Any good reference for the options available?
I have three SSRS reports that I modified. The original reports had several subscriptions associated with them. When I deployed the new reports, I placed the old reports into a folder called Archive and renamed them. Now I have these new reports with the original names of the first versions of the reports.
My question is is it possible to somehow replicate the schedules of the original reports to the new reports? There are about 30 subscriptions with between 5-10 recipients, and it would be a real pain to have to manually recreate those subscriptions.
Installed SQL Server 2008 with Reporting Services to a Windows Server 2008 box. Tried to open the Report Manager and had no tabs and no Site Settings link - just a blank home page. I am logged onto the server with local administrator rights, so it shouldn't be a permissions issue.
Thinking the installation was bad (IIS was not installed before installing SSRS), I uninstalled and re-installed SSRS after setting up IIS 7 on the server. Still the same issue - just a blank home page in report manager with no ability to add users or assign roles or see anything except the links for "Home", "My Subscriptions", and "Help".
What is the difference between CleanExpiredCache and FlushReportFromCache Do we need to run both the SPs to clear all the SSRS reporting cache? Is it possible to clean all the Cache information and retain the logs? If yes how we can do so. Is it by deleting the REportServerTempDB.dbo.ExecutionCache table work in achieving this?
I have a query where I am trying to display the most recent information about travelling method of customers using "t.collection_date". I am struggling to get MAX function working in the query.
SELECT P.id, P.forename, P.surname, P.dob, c.postcode, l.code_des, MAX(t.collection_date) FROM People p, MOT_HIST t, lk_mode_of_travel l, corresp_address c
WHERE p.ID = t.id (+) AND t.mode_of_travel = l.int_code (+) AND p.id = c.entity_id (+)
In SQL 2000, working with Maintenance plan wizard, what would be best settings and values should i choose in "Update Data Optimization information" window,
I am trying to migrate my reports from SQL server 2000 reporting services 32bit to 2005 64bit. I am following the migration steps that MS specified. Restored my Reportserver and ReportserverTempDB databases Then I was using the configure Report services to upgrade these databases but I always end up getting the follwoing exception when I run the upgrade on the "Database Setup" configuration for 'ReportServerTempDB' database System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Could not locate entry in sysdatabases for database 'ReportServerTempDBTempDB'. No entry found with that name. Make sure that the name is entered correctly. at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlConnection.OnError(SqlException exception, Boolean breakConnection) at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlInternalConnection.OnError(SqlException exception, Boolean breakConnection) at System.Data.SqlClient.TdsParser.ThrowExceptionAndWarning(TdsParserStateObject stateObj) at System.Data.SqlClient.TdsParser.Run(RunBehavior runBehavior, SqlCommand cmdHandler, SqlDataReader dataStream, BulkCopySimpleResultSet bulkCopyHandler, TdsParserStateObject stateObj) at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand.RunExecuteNonQueryTds(String methodName, Boolean async) at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand.InternalExecuteNonQuery(DbAsyncResult result, String methodName, Boolean sendToPipe) at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand.ExecuteNonQuery() at Microsoft.ReportingServices.Common.DBUtils.ApplyScript(String connectionString, String script) at ReportServicesConfigUI.SqlClientTools.SqlTools.ApplyScript(String connectionString, String script)
It's driving me crazy, why is it looking for 'ReportServerTempDBTempDB' in the catalog instead of 'ReportServerTempDB'? Is it possible to migrate from 32bit to 64bit?
I was in the phase of switching over to Sql Server Reporting from the normal reports. I plan to go with the SQL server 2005 standard version. Do i need visual studio 2005 to design and deploy report. If I am using only SQL server standard alone for my reporting and publishing, is it possible to assign the user rights to reports, user can just login and can view all the reports that belongs to that user. Since I wont be using the visual Studio 2005, so I want to implement this using the SQL server 2005. So pls help me with your kind information how to proceed ahead.
I'm attempting to obtain a cost effective solution for my existing customers to develop reports on their SQL 2000 Server installations using their Reporting Services 2000. With products like Visual Basic.NET 2003 becoming almost impossible to obtain, I have at least one customer who is running into a dead end.
One option possibly is the SQL Express with Advanced Services download, which has Reporting Services. My questions are as follows:
Can the report designer component of SQL Express Reporting Services be configured to connect to an external database (which would happen to be a SQL 2000 database) to establish its datasets? Does the resultant designed report end up in an RDL file? If the customer published this report via the Reporting Services 2000 Report Manager, would the report be able to run?
Sorry for asking a question like this that I could probably answer on my own, but my customer needed this answer yesterday. I have scoured the web and microsoft sites - and posted a question on the official SQL Reporting Services cateogy ... in an attempt to answer the basic question of how to design reports for Reporting Services 2000 in the absence of Visual Basic.NET 2003 (or other .NET 2003 tools) with no success.
I have a database in development in SQL Server 6.5 that needs to be occasionally deleted and rebuilt from a script when table structures are changed. I found that when very complex queries were performed, the 2 MB default size of tempdb filled up and returned errors, so I went to the Enterprise Manager to expand tempdb, learned that I had to first expand a device to expand tempdb into, and foolishly chose to expand tempdb into the same device space used by my application, instead of into one of the system databases. Now when I try to delete the device in preparation for its rebuild, the Enterprise Manager responds with an error message saying the device can't be deleted because it contains system tables. Is there any way to get the expanded portion of tempdb out of my application device so that the device can be deleted, without reinstalling SQL Server?
We run std 2008 r2. I'm looking at the files this transform is complaining about. They seem to be named appropriately. The customerid folders don't exist when this runs. I'm going to put one in place to see if that is the problem.
The errors i'm getting are...
[Export Column [22]] Error: The file name "c:usersmyuserid heprojectnamecustomeridafilename.doc" is not valid. The file name is a device or contains invalid characters. [Export Column [22]] Error: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_INDUCEDTRANSFORMFAILUREONERROR. The "component "Export Column" (22)" failed because error code 0xC020207F occurred,

How do you install Internet Information Services 6.0 on a individual workstation. I posted this before and someone replied, but I can't find the thread. When I logged it, I was told it was deleted. Anyway, I am trying to download a software that will allow the PDA to sync to Legrand CRM. One of the system requirements is to download IIS 6.0. How and where do I do this. It is on one computer workstation. Thanks!
When i use single object variable to pass it to two sequence container having 2 different Foreach ADO Enumerator; seems like the scope of the variable is completed once sequence container 1 is done and second fails with below error
Foreach ADO Enumerator Error: COM error object information is available. Source: "ADODB.Recordset" error code: 0x800A0BCD Description: "Either BOF or EOF is True, or the current record has been deleted. Requested operation requires a current record.".
Does we have to set any property so that object variable scope persist until both loops are completed.
It works fine if i push the data to 2 different object variables.
I can preview the SQL command in the OLE DB Source Editor and bring back all columns and results just fine but when I click on the Columns I get
TITLE: Microsoft Visual Studio ------------------------------ The component reported the following warnings: Error at Data Flow Task [OLE DB Source [1]]: No column information was returned by the SQL command.
The columns are there in the preview - why can't SSIS get the column information?
I work in a big project and we will begin in using reporting services as the base technique for reports and I will be responsible for this part. but I have a problem I will discuss in the following:
Currently: We use currently devexpress reports and we have 2 languages(Arabic and English). the data in tables saved in two ways (Arabic and English). when the end user change the language of the web site the report data language changed when run it.
Example:
we have table with (ID, NAME_AR, NAME_EN, JobTitle_AR, JobTitle_EN). designed report will display(ID, NAME_EN, JobTitle_EN) . but the end user change the language of the system the report will
Basically I've been using Visual Studio 2005 for a few weeks now moving a Pocket PC project from 2003 to 2005. When I hit the Start Debugging Button every time until today the project would rebuild and deploy to my pocket PC allowing me to debug etc but now I get
The remote connection to the device has been lost.
Please verify the device conection and restart debugging.
I used to get this problem in VS2003 sometimes and just like the numerous posts on different sites that I've looked at the problem eventually goes away and I'm none the wiser. One guy said that he found that if he went to bed the problem was resolved when he came back!
My PDA running Windows 2003 2nd Edition is directly connected to my PC via a USB port. I've rebooted my PC and done a soft reset on the PDA but it didn't help. I'm using ActiveSync 4.1.

I've developed a package that is working well at development machine from VS 2013 for a sample flat file. Also, over development machine, I've deployed it to SSISDB catalogue and even from there also it is running well for the same file. When the same package is deployed to production server's SSISDB catalogue database, it throws following error while processing the same sample flat file, “Unable to retrieve column information from the flat file connection manager”
Our DBA has installed reporting services on a server and now in order to access the report manager, one has to be an Admin on that Server. I am guessing that there is a mistake in the configuration of Reporting Services. Usually it should allow anybody who was added to the roles in the properties section of the Report Manager, right? I have also added the users to the DB..
Also I am using Windows Authentication to access Report Catalog items (Reporting Services is installed on Server2) from a web Application(deployed on Server1) and displaying the report using report viewer. For some reason, server1 has to be in an Admin role on Server2 to access the report catalog/report. This is kinda strange for me as I don't want everybody to be an Admin on Server2. Can anybody please point in the right direction?
We have installed SQL Server 2005 with reporting services. When tried to open getting errors as below: how to avoid such errors See the end of this message for details on invoking just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

I have some problem about reporting service add-in.
After I install reporting service add-in for SharePoint, reporting service menu does not appear in Application Management Tab in SharePoint Central Administration.
I try to uninstall and re-install again, it remain not work.
We've got a requirement to build the real time report. user can browse report at any point of time and need to see the latest data(stock market) in the report.
I've few options down...
1. Directly point to OLTP database as source and write stored procedure to show result set.
2. Replicate the database and write the SP's to reports. To avoid pointing directly to OLTP db.
3. To build the datawarehouse with dim & facts to show it in reports. I prefer this as a standard method, but this would have some latency depending on trasaction load which will differ from the requirement.
We are required to gather certain information regarding reporting services.
Which reports were requested, by whom , how long did they run for, what parameters were passed etc etc.
I see that the system tables do provide some of this information, is there a 3rd party tool or something we can use to gather all this type of information for us?
Hi, I have just install SQL 2005 SP2 and trying to get Window SharePoint Services V3 integrated with SQL 2005 SP2 reporting services. In SharePoint Central Administration, I select the Reporting Services Integration page and have setup the Report Server Web Service URL and Authentication Mode. I then goto Grant database access, specify the SQL server name, get promted for a username and password that has access SQL Reportserver and get the following error "The group name could not be found" Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks
We built our prod server [vm] with SQL Server 2008 R2 on Server 2008 R2. It works nicely. Then we made a copy of the VM and renamed it (so our test environment would be IDENTICAL to production). After that, SSRS was broken: I get "HTTP Error 503. The service is unavailable." I can't connect via http, or SSMS.
We have tried:
* Running SSRS config tool (several times)
* Running with/without the IIS Server Role
* Dropping & recreating the SSRS keys
* Recreating the ReportServer database, etc
* Checking all of the accounts, permissions, etc
* Running SQL Repair
* Going through the registry to fix any references to the machine's old name
* Uninstalling, reinstalling SSRS
* Completely uninstalling ALL of the parts of SQL Server 2008 R2, deleting all directories, removing references to SQL Server from the registry, rebooting, reinstalling everything.
None of this has worked. SSRS [R2] is still 503 on our test box.
the SSRS [NT] service seems to run, without error. The Event Viewer doesn't seem to be recording any errors. The SSRS logs say that the default URL is wrong, but we get the same error in Prod, and Prod works fine. The other SQL Logs say something about not being able to contact the service. However, as I said, the [NT] service seems to be working fine.
