Reporting Services :: Expand Page Height And Width
Nov 11, 2015
I need to expand my page width and height. The report designer and report viewer allows me to do that. The expanded page does not export to the PDF Format. I am stuck width 6 1/4 x 8/12 for the PDF format. I am using the windows report viewer.
I have designed a matrix report to display activities for which I added a table with in one of the cell When I run the report, I see activities but the row alignment is not proper and also when there are no records it displays blank.
We have a ReportViewer control sitting inside a master page's content placeholder. All works fine except when I set the width and height to 100% rather than a fixed size in pixels. This is what we require, as we'd like the control to resize automatically along with the page.
I'm aware of a fix whereby you remove the doctype statement from the page's script, but this seems to have no effect on a page which is based on a master page.
Is there any other way we can get our ReportViewer to work in a 100% width/height mode?
When I set the Width and Height properties of my reportviewer on my aspx page to 100% (I do not want to explicitly set these properties) it does not show properly.
However, it show properly if I remove the doctype and set the asyncrendering property to false. Is there another option than removing the doctype and setting asyncrendering = false?
I have a table where I added several header rows above the details row and increased the row heights to 0.4in. The row height looks fine in preview, but when I export to Excel, it is as if I had not increased the row height. I have found through trial and error that if I place a textbox below my table and position it so that it is under the rightmost column of my table, then I get my desired row heights in Excel. If I remove the textbox or if it is not under the rightmost column then the row heights revert back to their original size. The textbox can be empty and still has the desired effect. i am using SQL Server 2008 RTM and VS 2008 SP1.
I am trying to print only the grand total raw. The grand total is based on the information in the groups and therefore I cannot hide the groups.
Instead I am trying to minimize the size of the group raw by sizing font, shrink, etc but with no success. I still get a lot of unwanted space. How can resolve this?
In my report i have more than 10 sub reports each should be displayed when we click on some label but my requirement is to expand all the sub reports at a time or collapse the sub reports.URL.....problem here is it is a genius solution working beautifully in my local machine but in the client server if i click on the Expand/Collapse radio button it is asking for the parameters again.
I have created an SSRS report containing a bar chart. The Y-axis contains some application names which are displayed based on a certain criteria. Hence sometimes there are only 2 values in y-axis while sometimes it may range upto 20 items. I have tried a lot but have been unsuccessful in getting a dynamic y-axis which changes with the number of items present.
I have created one reports but all the records are displaying on one page.find a solution to display the records page by page. I created the same report without group so the records are displaying in page by page.
Hello, If I have a report that includes a page header, the report viewer will render the report at the full width, but if I hide the page header and show only the body it will use the absolute width of the report.
I have a 7" wide report, with .75" borders set on each side.
Interactive & Print size are set to 8.5x11 Changing these sizes has no effect on the behavior of the viewer, which appears to ignore them.
When I view this report in the local viewer the contents fill the window if there is no page header. If I enable the page header then the report is drawn at 8.5" wide, leaving a _big_ white border on the right side. Any comments or workarounds that anyone knows? I know the local viewer is not a standard configuration (at least it seems) but it is what we need to use.Thanks,//Andrew
I've a report projects where each report has a number of columns and the spec is to have all the columns print-out on the same page. Is there a setting that will auto-scale these columns to fit to the page or will I have to edit the font size and widths manually on each report to fit to the page?
Will the width property of a column be able to be set at run-time (i.e. ability to set the width of a column to an expression) in SQL Reporting Services 2008? One problem I have seen is the inability to set the width of columns in a report when you you have several columns whose order is determined based on parameters.  Lets say I have 2 columns in a report and two fields from the database which will populate those columns: 1 field that is varchar(5) and one which is varchar(50). If I do not know which column each field will go to until runtime how am I supposed to adjust the column width? Letting the column width be set by an expression would solve everything as I could pass the width in to the report. As it stands now, I would have to set each column's width to accomodate a field of type varchar(50) in order to avoid wrapping of data.  You could say just create 2 reports, one for each case, but what if I had 15 fields? 20?how to dynamically set the width of a column? Will the width of a column be able to be set at run-time in SQL Server Reporting Services 2008 via expression or some other means?
I have a report with multiple tables. I need to show each tables in different pages. When there is no data for tables/tables , it is coming with the next table which has data. I have given "Add a page break after" option in the tablix but still the tables are coming together when no data available. How can I show it in different page?
I have set the Interactive Height in my SQL report to 11 inches. I have also set a page break to occur after each table group in my report. When I run the report in SQL Reporting Services (or in Visual Studio 2005) the only page breaks that occur are the ones after each group. The Interactive Height setting is not causing page breaks. The first group in my report prints out as 4 pages but is showing up on the html screen as 1 long page. The first page break finally occurs at the end of the first group.
How can I get the Interactive Height to force page breaks within each of my groups? I am using SQL Reporting Services 2005.
I have a text box that contains a memo field. It's located in the middle of the report page. If the data is too big to fit on the bottom half of the report, then it goes to the next page. This leaves a blank bottom half on the first / initial page. How can I get the textbox to split across pages and not go to a new page automatically?
I want to page break after after 6 grno  recored.I used ceiling(rowNumber(Nothing/6))  but it worked differ(this fun used on top most group )below I attached screeshot. I need to page break after 6 grno record but above syntax measure 6 datafiled row and then page break.how I can page break after 6 grno record
hi, in sql server reporting services,i need to display page header in first page only but it is repeating in every page.can any one tell me how to suppress or hide page header in otherpages.
I have created a table and want to display a datset. One of the fields in the dataset is 'month' which I need displayed across the top of the report. The other information should make up the rows.
How do I get it to list the Month across the page rather than down?
I have searched high and low for how to calculate page numbering in the header where the global values do not apply.
I have a report that generates 300+ invoices and I need the page numbers to reflect page x of xx for that invoice only. My report page breaks for each customer invoice. I have found code to get the page number in the header and I have found code to get the total pages in the body. These two solutions cannot be combined.
Has anyone found a workaround in code behind or some other method?I would appreciate any guidance.
Side note: thank you all for all your postings and solutions. They have been highly valuable as I am new to SSRS.
I can not access the url of reporting services.Reports_REPORTER, gives me a blank page.I tried to change service accountand plugged network services, but the same is not working.
I have an existing report that has a table that contains two groups. The 1st group has the option to "page break at start". The 2nd group isn't set to page break. The report works correctly if the 2nd group's data fits on to a single page per data group. However, if the 2nd group's data for one of the iterations crosses page boundaries, it causes issues with the beginning of the report. The report breaks the 1st groups rows into separate pages, and combines the previous row with the next row on the next page, until the 2nd group is encountered, and then another page break.
Example (Assuming 3 rows in the 1st group)
1st group - 1st Row
<page break>
1st group - 1st Row
1st group - 2nd Row
<page break>
1st group - 1st Row
1st group - 2nd Row
1st group - 3rd Row
<page break>
1st group - 1st Row
1st group - 2nd Row
1st group - 3rd Row
2nd group - 1st row
<page break>
1st group - 1st Row
1st group - 2nd Row
1st group - 3rd Row
2nd group all remaining rows now appear.
This report works fine on SQL 2000 SP2, and SQL 2005 SP1. In my test environment, I was able to verify that the report worked on the previous SSRS versions, and then broke immediately following the installation of SQL 2005 SP2. I have tried many things from changing the paging, grouping, table structure, and starting from scratch. Maybe I have missed something. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions, I would appreciate the help.
I achieved to get Fixed number of records per page ....but headers are not repeating in every page.... Is it possible to repeat headers on each page and fixed number of records per page please give me navigation.
I am facing this issue  In Fire Fox browser .When I click the Page Navigation Button , The Page Refreshes , but it not  Navigating to the next or previous page .How ever It is working fine all other browsers .   <rsweb:ReportViewer ID="ReportViewer1" runat="server" ProcessingMode="Remote" Width="100%" Heigh="100%"  SizeToReportContent="true"  AsyncRendering="false" >         <ServerReport ReportServerUrl="" />       </rsweb:ReportViewer>
I am creating a report in SSRS and the data is obtained through a stored procedure. One of the parameters is Begin_Date. This is simply a date field. I need to have it on the Page Header section. However, when I placed it there and ran the report, I received the following error -
Error2[rsFieldInPageSectionExpression] The Value expression for the textbox ‘begindate’ refers to a field. Fields cannot be used in page headers or footers.
Is there a way around? I have never faced such a problem when I created reports in Crystal or ActiveReports. Please let me know whether I am missing anything.
