How do you Write an expression to Return the date value based on the most recent date only?
Eg. Date 10-7-2015, action - done, notes - all items fixed.
Date 4-5-2016, action - not yet done, notes - buying parts
All these dates are returned based on a search parameter based on a project number. I only want the most current date and associated fields displayed.
I have a QA Deployment Date field that is being returned in a custom report I created. I also found a sample date range parameter:
What I want to accomplish:
I want to select a From and To Date and filter the report to only display the rows that have the QA Deployment Date within the selected range.
For example.. I want to select From Date (8/1/2105) and To Date (8/31/2015) and I only want to return only the results that have a QA Deployment date between that selected range.
I have @for_dte parameter(date data type) in a ssrs report
using below expression
=Format(Parameters!for_dte.Value, "dd/MMM/yyyy") -i got Output:10/Oct/2015
but i need Output:10/OCT/2015(ie OCT in capitals).
How can i achieve that using expression.
Have a table that list item#, date the standard cost went into effect and the standard cost. How do I find the difference in StdCost on the last EffectiveDate and second to last EffectiveDate. 5.59 (01/05/2015) minus 5.81 (09/29/.014) = -.22.

I have a decimal data type column with a record in the following format 20150219 --> yyyyMMdd. And I am trying to convert the return value from SSRS date/time parameter to a decimal value.
The TMDTOP column is the decimal data type with date records in yyyyMMdd format.
My return parameter is the following:
=IIf(IsNothing(Parameters!SystemDate.Value),Fields!TMDTSY.Value,CDec(Format(Parameters!SystemDate.Value,"yyyyMMdd")))
When I try to run the report I get the following error:
Failed to evaluate the FilterValue of the DataSet ‘DataSet1’. (rsFilterEvaluationError)
I simply need to list the most recent value for each employee here... the value at each person's maximum date

I have a detailed report in ssrs in which data can come from start date and end date parameters.but the problem is. for example i gave startdate as 01/01/2015 and end date as 09/31/2015 then the data must be in displayed in such a way that jan month in one tab and feb month data in one tab and so on to sep month data in new tab when i export to Excel.

A user selects arrivalDateStart as 8/1/2015 and arrivalDateEnd as 12/31/2015 and the results are returned.
The issue is that there is an event that began 7/31/2015 and ends 8/2/2015. This does not appear on the report. The user does not want to have to pick an earlier arrival date as the parameter of his report to pick up anything that was already in progress prior to the beginning of the month.
I am trying to figure out how to add an expression that will also return events that are in progress over the arrival date chosen for the report.
A date field in a report returns the date value as:
2015-07-01 13:30:27.000
Is there any way I can script this to appear as:
01 July 2015 (or 01-07-2015 or 01/07/2015) - basically to cut out the hours, minutes and seconds?
The best I have managed is: CONVERT (varchar(17),DATE,113) AS Date1 but this still leaves me with:
01 July 2015 13:30
I would like to be able to search by a single date, @StartDate, or by a date range , between @StartDate and @EndDate. I am having a hard time with the logic on this for a report in SSRS.

I am very new to SSIS. I need a package to iterate through files in folders and subfolders, evaluate the date of the file and delete them if they are over 90 days. I am using the following as a guide. The reason I am not using a maintenance plan for this is that I did not see a way to use a built in maintenance plan task to copy files. I have soma ado.net code that inserts 7 parameters in a database ( a date, 6 integers).
I also use a self incrementing ID but the date is set as primary key because for each series of 6 numbers of a certain date there may only be 1 entry. Moreover only 1 entry of 6 integers is possible for 2 days of the week, (tue and fr).
I manage to insert a row of data in the database, where the date is set as smalldatetime and displays as follows: 1/05/2007 0:00:00 in the table.
I want to retrieve the series of numbers for a certain date that has been entered (without taking in account the hours and seconds).
A where clause seems to be needed but I don’t know the syntax or don’t find the right function
I use the following code to insert the row :

Which is the correct syntax? Is there a better way to insert and select based on the date?
I don’t get any error messages and the code executes fine but I only get an empty datatable in my dataset (the table isn’t looped for rows I noticed while debugging).
Today’s date is in the database but isn’t found by my tsql code I think.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have a query to run a report where the results has a column named “Due Date” which holds a date value based on the project submission date.Now, I need to add 4 columns named, “45 Days Expectant”, “30 Days Overdue”, “60 Days Overdue” and “90 Days Overdue”.I need to do a calculation based on the “Due Date” and “System (I mean default computer date) Date” that if “System Date” is 45 days+ to “Due Date” than put “Yes” in “45 Days Expectant” row.
Also, if “Due Date” is less than or equal to system date by 30 days, put “Yes” in “30 Days Overdue” and same for the 60 and 90 days.how to write this Case Statement? I have some answers how to do it in SSRS (Report Designer) but I want to get the results using T-SQl.

Basically I need to populate a form based with records based on the criteria that the next mot date and todays are +/- 10 days.
i.e if todays date is 13/05/07 and the next mot date is 3/05/07 or later OR 23/05/07 or less then various fields will be shown in the form.

I need to insert into a column (lets say column x) a date based on the date on another column (lets say column y).
What I need is:
Take the day and month from column x (all records are formated yyyy-mm-dd)
Place it in column y
The yyyy in column y should be - currenct year +1 and no the year in column x.

We have a previous report that uses the code:
AND T1."Decision_Date" BETWEEN '2005-07-01 00:00:00.000' AND '2006-06-30 00:00:00.000' AND T1."Decision_Type_Description"
With this the report was run with the "static" dates, the new report (in MS reporting services) requires that the user be able to enter in the start date range and the end date range.
I have come up with something like:
(T1."Decision_Date" = @Start_Year) AND (T1."Decision_Date" = @End_Year)
But not working. Can anyone assist?

What needs to change so that it return 3/31/2015 12:00:00 AM
Sorry if I am posting in the wrong place here. I am not a programmer by profession but just muddle through building some reports for my job. The report I am working on at the moment is the most complicated one I have worked on so far. I am working with MS Query (SQL) and trying to limit the rows returned with the most recent date. I have searched online for the answer to this but just cannot seem to get it to work.
There can be more than one Production Name per Manuscript Number. Each Production Name has a Production Task Assignment Start Date. I want to display one row per record with the latest (most recent) Production Task Assignment Start Date. I have been trying to use the MAX functionality (which I have seen listed online) but just cannot get it work. Can anyone help? It would be much appreciated!

I need this query to pull just the last scan date, i.e. if a scan ran on 3/7/2012 I need just the records (there may be few or many) that pertain to that date and no other dates. When I run this query I am still getting all of the results (i.e. scan dates of 3/7/2012, 3/5/2012, 3/1/2012, etc)
I just need the most recent date, even if there are many records for that date (i.e. 10 IP addresses that were all scanned on 3/5/2012)

1) Item table (No_, Description)
2) Sales Price HAG table (Item No_, Sales Price HAG, Starting Date)
I want to have a report within from every item the most recent sales price. But, it is possible that a unique item has more than 1 sales price in the 'Sales Price table' (if it has more than one Starting Date). I want to report the sales price with the most recent date.
I've made this statement:

I've got a table like so

and I want to get the most recent date in the past which I must go back where the sum of the numbers of the number column if greater than a certain number.
EG. From the above data, the date which I must go back to get a sum of 195 is 2007-01-05
as 44+83+52+11+23 is the least amount that is greater than 195.
Can anyone help, is this even possible? I'm flummoxed!
I have an ssrs report which is something like

[taskname value]|{now i have merged all cell till the end of months row.}
I have another value (start date value). I want date to be displayed below that particular month as i have merged that all cells so its is causing me some problems.
I have the attached picture in my SQL Report Builder 3.0 report. How do I combine the months that show more than once into a single column?
