View 5 RepliesHi
We are having an issue with reporting services when it is viewed in IE.
We can design the report in visual studio and it looks fine, however when we upload the report to reporting services it displays the report incorrectly (shown below)http://static.flickr.com/103/298669551_7395fc946d.jpg
When it is print previewed it looks like this (which is the correct layout)http://static.flickr.com/104/298669558_cfd56ffd0e.jpg
Any advice would be most appreciated! Thanks Ross
Hi all,
i got through the installation of the Sql Server 2000 Reporting services evaluation and managed to deploy a couple reports and a shared data source to my reporting server on my DEV box.
Now im trying to view the reports i made online and they never render, all i get is the animated gif that always says "Report is being generated". This goes on and on with apparently no end in sight.
I CAN preview the reports in VS 2003 and they render almost instantly. there are no differences that may affect the connection to the database between my development computer (with VS 2003) and the server that the reporting server is on.
Anyone have any ideas as to why this may be happening ?
thanks,
mcm
We have this problem?

I need to create a report in SSRS 2015 but I need to bind that report to an external dataset .
I need it to work with parameters and stored procedure.
Another issue is that the report is standalone -rdlc.
Can I call the report from a webservice .asmx not wcf and render it automatically in pdf format?
I have a SSRS 2012 report which references a custom c# assembly. This report exists in multiple environments (alpha, beta and production ) which are each associated with different data sources.
Is there a way for the assembly to determine the datasource used by the calling report so it can also connect to it?
Hello,
Does anyone know where the image for "Report is being generated" is stored at?
Thanks!
how can I pull up an image from the file system eansted of a table field? From the table i only get the name and the path where the image is stored and wiht that info I want to fill up the picture box of the report.

I did the following steps:
1. Created a report using SQL Reporting Services. (OK)
2. Deployed the project (ABC) into the ServerX. (OK)
3. Opened the SQL Reporting Services using the Report Manager on localhost of the ServerX. (OK)
4. Opened the ABC folder. Files deployed. (OK)
5. Created two subscriptions. One (Service1) for printing to the Printer. One (Service2) for saving into a file. (OK)
6. Opened the Service1. In the View Tab, after entering the Report Parameters, clicked on "View Report". (OK)
7. I expected view to show what I viewed in the Project (ABC). (NOK - It printed a wrong format. Alignment was completely different)
8. Tried to export to a TIFF file expecting to see the same view as I saw in the Project (ABC). (NOK - It printed a wrong format. Alignment was completely different)
9. Tried to export to a PDF file expecting to see the same view as I saw in the Project (ABC). (NOK - It printed a wrong format. Alignment was completely different)
10. In the subscriptions, I ran the Service1 to print the report from the SQL Reporting Services directly onto the Printer. (NOK - It printed a wrong format. Alignment was completely different)
Is this an expected issue with SQL Reporting Services which incase doesnt make any sense to use it. Or it is an issue with my code. All I assumed that I should expect from SQL Reporting Services is: if I create a Report and I preview the Report, I should get a WYSIWYG formats.
Half the way through our project, we are completely stuck up. SOS!!!

Can anyone help me with a problem I have with SSRS 2005? How do I configure SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services to deliver subscription e-mails to addresses external to my windows domain?
I've been having trouble configuring the Report Server e-mail delivery component to send subscription e-mails to addresses outside the domain on which the report server is hosted.
For e.g. since my local windows domain is named "smartsystems.com", I have found that the Report Manager does not have any problems sending subscription mails to "eawagu@smartsystems.com" but throws up an error whenever I include "eawagu@yahoo.com" in the recipients' list.
Any insights?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a requirement where i have to display some data which is coming from a sub report when i click on an image. I have two problems here,
1) if i provide toggle on image text box it is displaying + symbol which i don't want
2) If i provide image properties -> action -> go to report -> it is displaying the values in a different page but my requirement is to display in the same page
Conclusion is : when i click on the image(without + symbolo) i have to display sub report values in the same page.
I have a server that has SSRS 2012. It was running ok.
And just now I installed IIS to try something and I am noticing that SSRS isn't coming up when I put in the usual URL in the browser.
Hi.
I have a problem.
I do a basic report with just one simple table:
_id
_name
_comment
_file
I'm able to get all informations into a table. But for the file, I created a URL Link for this file.
But when the reporting is generating in html, if I click on the file's link, nothing happens. But I can dowload the file with a right click. And if I see proprieties of the link, the link is rights, and it's works good if I copy and paste it on the IE url bar.
So for summary, my problem is : nothing happens if I click on the file, but a want a window's opening with the choose "Open with" or "Save on the disk".
Somebody can help me?
Thanks
I have a image in SSRS which is of PNG in format. when I preview the image it is coming as expected but if I export that to PDF the image is having the black color back ground. One more point to be noted here is my actual image file is having a small shading in it which is not visible properly, but the same back ground is coming with full black color line in the PDF form.
Another issue is : I have 3 sub reports in my SSRS report. In the preview I can see the data is coming in order of sub reports but if I export it to PDF the second sub-report data is coming at the end of the report and first and 3rd sub reports are fine. But If I have only one record for 2nd sub-report the order is same in both the Preview page as well as in the PDF format.
When I place an image WITHIN a chart, it appears in the correct location in DESIGN mode, however, when I preview it, my chart renders...and then the image renders NEXT TO the chart. I can't get the image to display WITHIN the chart area.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have created a new report.what i do in application is i compress the image and save it in database.now i need to retrieve the compressed image and display in the report. I have used the following code to decompress the binary data save in the image.
I dont know after that what should i do. How to show the picture in SSRS Report. I need to show picture in many reports.one of my doubt is how to call this function in SSRS Report. The function accepts input as byte but in database the column in varbinary.
Should I convert the input type of function to varbinary instead of byte array?
Public Function Decompress(ByVal arr As Byte()) As Byte()
Dim notCompressed As Boolean
notCompressed = False
Dim MS As MemoryStream
MS = New MemoryStream()
[Code] ....
the Dataset in my report doesn't update the fields' values from the database. I refresh the dataset manualy in the SQL Server Business Intelligence Development Studio to see the new values in the report.

Hi,
I wouls like to have a custom button called "Set" in the report toolbar in addition to the "View Report" button. I am aware of the fact that the look and feel of the existing controls on the toolbar can be customised or can be hidden using HtmlViewer.css. Is there any code which I can tweak to add buttons or images on the report toolbar?
Thanks

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm developing an SSRS report using VS2013 Premium with SSDT - BI v12.0.2430.0. SSRS is hosted on a SQL 2014 instance. The underlying database table has a varchar(max) field which stores text and embedded image data from a third-party application. I can extract this text, save it as an html file and open that in a browser. It renders complete with any embedded image.Meanwhile, the report textbox has its Placeholder Properties, Markup type set to HTML. Yet when I run the report, the text is displayed but any embedded image is not.Is there any approach I can take, perhaps transforming the varchar(max) data to another format in the query for my dataset, that can show the text and any embedded image in my report? Or is it that the TextBox control is limited, not unreasonably, to text only? If so, is there another control I could use, perhaps custom or third-party?
