Reporting Services :: Home Page Of 2014 Doesn't Work
Nov 24, 2015
I installed Reporting Services 2014 on Windows 7. When i am trying to start home page i can see only HTML page and the text: "localhost/reports - /",then double lines (<hr><hr>) and text "Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services Version 12.0.4100.1"Maybe the windows user (SERVER_NAMEADMINISTRATOR) has not sufficient permissions ?
I want to give the permission to a user to view only one folder among 10 folders on Home page of report server. I don't want that user to view other folder than his/Her Own folder on report server home page.
I did the following steps: 1. Created a report using SQL Reporting Services. (OK) 2. Deployed the project (ABC) into the ServerX. (OK) 3. Opened the SQL Reporting Services using the Report Manager on localhost of the ServerX. (OK) 4. Opened the ABC folder. Files deployed. (OK) 5. Created two subscriptions. One (Service1) for printing to the Printer. One (Service2) for saving into a file. (OK) 6. Opened the Service1. In the View Tab, after entering the Report Parameters, clicked on "View Report". (OK) 7. I expected view to show what I viewed in the Project (ABC). (NOK - It printed a wrong format. Alignment was completely different) 8. Tried to export to a TIFF file expecting to see the same view as I saw in the Project (ABC). (NOK - It printed a wrong format. Alignment was completely different) 9. Tried to export to a PDF file expecting to see the same view as I saw in the Project (ABC). (NOK - It printed a wrong format. Alignment was completely different) 10. In the subscriptions, I ran the Service1 to print the report from the SQL Reporting Services directly onto the Printer. (NOK - It printed a wrong format. Alignment was completely different)
Is this an expected issue with SQL Reporting Services which incase doesnt make any sense to use it. Or it is an issue with my code. All I assumed that I should expect from SQL Reporting Services is: if I create a Report and I preview the Report, I should get a WYSIWYG formats.
Half the way through our project, we are completely stuck up. SOS!!!

I have a problem. I do a basic report with just one simple table: _id _name _comment _file
I'm able to get all informations into a table. But for the file, I created a URL Link for this file. But when the reporting is generating in html, if I click on the file's link, nothing happens. But I can dowload the file with a right click. And if I see proprieties of the link, the link is rights, and it's works good if I copy and paste it on the IE url bar.
So for summary, my problem is : nothing happens if I click on the file, but a want a window's opening with the choose "Open with" or "Save on the disk".
i would like to show all Labels available in a Chart and rotate the Labels 90°. How can i do that ? I changed the Propertie "Interval" to 1, "LabelsAngle" to 90, "LabelsAutoFitDisabled" to true in my Chart Axis.
I have a parameter that chooses its available items from a query (with a label and a value column). I set the default for the parameter to the a particular value.
It works in Preview from design mode, but when I deploy it and run the report, it does not set the default.
I have this script in my database, but it always gives 2054 rows back and if I actually DO change something it doesn't even notice...
UPDATE a SET a.[omschrijving]=SP.[omschrijving] ,a.[verkoopprijs]=SP.[verkoopprijs] ,a.[gewijzigd]=getDate() FROM [artikelen] a LEFT OUTER JOIN [Hofstede].[dbo].[sparepartsupdate] SP ON a.PartNrFabrikant = sp.PartNrFabrikant WHERE ((A.omschrijving != SP.[omschrijving]) OR (A.[verkoopprijs] != SP.[verkoopprijs]))
When I am trying http://localhost/Reports/Pages/Folder.aspx
I am not seeing the all too familier "Contents" and "Properties" tabs along with deployed reports. Once in a while, I see that, but most of the time it is missing. Reporting Services got installed correctly though.
I have installed MDS while installing SQL Server 2014 on my local machine ( windows 10). However when I try accessing the home page of Master Data Manager, it is giving access denied error. I am unable to access the Master Data Manager itself. MDS Database and Web Application are using same user account which is Administrator on the system.
I have created one reports but all the records are displaying on one page.find a solution to display the records page by page. I created the same report without group so the records are displaying in page by page.
Can we change the name of the "Home" folder to something else? We have 15-20 instances of SSRS, and it would be real useful if I could display an instance name vs. "Home".
Has ANYONE actually gotten Reporting Services to install under Windows Vista Home Premium?!?!
I have gone through every possible fix, KB Article and anecdote and I STILL can't get it to install. Every IIS option is there that should be there.
In all honesty, what was Microsoft thinking? I'll make RS compatible with every OS we offer EXCEPT this one...
What truly bites is now that Visat is out, it is almost impossible to buy a new laptop/PC without it. Looks like it's nuke my new laptop and install XP...great...
I am having problems exporting data into a flat file using specific code page. My application has a variable "User::CodePage" that stores code page value (936, 950, 1252, etc) based on the data source. This variable is assigned to the CodePage property of desitnation file connection using Property expression.
But, when I execute the package, the CodePage property of the Destination file connection defaults to the initial value that was set for "User:CodePage" variable in design mode. I checked the value within the variable during runtime and it changes correctly for each data source. But, the property of the destinatin file connection doesn't change and results in an error.
[Flat File Destination [473]] Error: Data conversion failed. The data conversion for column "Column01" returned status value 4 and status text "Text was truncated or one or more characters had no match in the target code page.".
[DTS.Pipeline] Error: The ProcessInput method on component "Flat File Destination" (473) failed with error code 0xC02020A0. The identified component returned an error from the ProcessInput method. The error is specific to the component, but the error is fatal and will cause the Data Flow task to stop running.
If I manually update the variable with correct code page and re-run the ETL, everything works fine. Just that it doesn't work during run-time mode.
I have a report with multiple tables. I need to show each tables in different pages. When there is no data for tables/tables , it is coming with the next table which has data. I have given "Add a page break after" option in the tablix but still the tables are coming together when no data available. How can I show it in different page?
I just setup a developer as a site admin in SSRS, he has administration rights to the site and also rights on folders that contain reports. He can access the reports folders no problem, however when he tries to access the "Home" folder he get's the error shown below.
UAC is switched off an other people are able to access this ok.
I'm trying to get the application logging to work, but nothing is happening. I'm using SQLServer2014.
I've followed the instructions on [URL] .... , even copying and pasting the snippet into web.config, but nothing happens, no log is created in the default directory.
Is there something version specific? Does 2014 behave differently?
the Dataset in my report doesn't update the fields' values from the database. I refresh the dataset manualy in the SQL Server Business Intelligence Development Studio to see the new values in the report.
Just upgraded to Windows 10. My SSRS reports, SharePoint 2013 integrated, still work but have no scroll bars. I can use the touchscreen to scroll left and right. Mouse wheel or any other attempts to scroll the report view don't work.
I'm building a web app in c# that will consume sql rdl reports. These reports are hosted at MaxmimumASP and the physical location requires us to login with our one and only network account or to at least impersonate the authorized account in code. (Note that this all stored under SSL on a server different than our web app).
This is easy enough using the provided ReportService. However, we desire the functionality in ReportViewer that gives the toolbar and multiple export options.
So some serious work-arounds are in order.
Using ReportService, I can easily impersonate our MaximumASP account with:
ReportingService service = new ReportingService(); service.Credentials = new System.Net.NetworkCredential(user, pword, domain);
Using the ReportService leaves us with a stream of binary information. Under this set of conditions, direct rendering to PDF doesn't seem to work (or at least I can't get it to.).
Another problem is that embedded images either do not show up, require another challenge/response even though we did this in our cs page, or require us to stream them to the app's directory (see: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/rsprog/htm/rsp_ref_soapapi_service_lz_49f6.asp?frame=true)
The big question. Does anybody have a way to get ReportServices stream to display in ReportViewer without using temporary files?
I want to page break after after 6 grno recored.I used ceiling(rowNumber(Nothing/6)) but it worked differ(this fun used on top most group )below I attached screeshot. I need to page break after 6 grno record but above syntax measure 6 datafiled row and then page break.how I can page break after 6 grno record
hi, in sql server reporting services,i need to display page header in first page only but it is repeating in every page.can any one tell me how to suppress or hide page header in otherpages.
SELECT SOURCE, TRANSDATE, LOCATION, DESCRIPTION, MOACTIVETIMESTAMP, MOINACTIVETIMESTAMP FROM CTS_Missing_Data_Report_VW WHERE LOCATION = @Location AND SOURCE = @Source AND (TRANSDATE BETWEEN @StartDate AND @EndDate) ORDER BY Transdate desc, Location
So the user can enter a value for Location and Source and select the date range.BUT I also want the user to be able to put in nothing for the Location and Source so the query would return everything for that date range.
So if they did this the query would be
SELECT SOURCE, TRANSDATE, LOCATION, DESCRIPTION, MOACTIVETIMESTAMP, MOINACTIVETIMESTAMP FROM CTS_Missing_Data_Report_VW WHERE (TRANSDATE BETWEEN @StartDate AND @EndDate) ORDER BY Transdate desc, Location
I have set the parameters @Location and @Source to "Allow blank value" in the datasets for the location and source I have :
SELECT NULL AS Source UNION SELECT DISTINCT RTRIM(LTRIM(SOURCE))AS Source FROM CTS_OPS_SOURCE_LOCATION_TBL_VW ORDER BY SOURCE
So a blank will show on the drop down and when I run the query for the Query Designer in the Dataset Properties the results does show a blank record for the first record.BUT when I Run the report there are no blanks in the drop downs for the location or source. And there is no '<blank>' selection in the drop down either. And the drop down insist the user selects a value from both of the drop downs.
I have a SQL server box running 2014 reporting services. I have another server running IIS v8.
I would like to be able to connect to the IIS site and be given the SSRS report browser.
So externally if I browse to [URL], I am presented with the report server interface, the same as if I browse to http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/reports internally.
For the past couple of days I've been having an issue with Reporting Services. From what I can understand reporting services doesn't work well when exporting to word.
The scenario is quite simple, I am developing a report for a client with a 'master page', which works as the cover, and executes 2 sub-reports with one table each, nothing fancy. We don't export this report to pdf, because the internal client has to attach another report that is impossible to automate, so they generate that report via excel and integrate it on our word document before sending the document to their business partners.
Our main problem is that we can't export the header/footers to word.
I've received a couple of complains about a website I've been working on the past year or so: http://www.ipcamerademos.com/
I can open and browse the website fine, in both MS Internet Explorer and Firefox. But some people are getting some error opening up the website (home page):
Using System Role Assignment I grant a domain user account "System Administrator" & "System User" within Reporting Services.
Then I connect via IE7 to Report Server with the domain account that has been granted the above rights. The page comes up but the "Contents" and "Properties" tabs are missing. This user can use "Site Settings" and perform admin though.
If I assign the users domain account to the local Administrator group on the Win 2003 Server, then when they reconnect to Reporting Services the missing tabs appear.
We are a development shop, need some of our qa testers and developers to have admin rights within Reporting Services but don't want to grant them local Administrator rights on the server. This could also be an issue upon deployment at customer sites.
So how to get round this. I have been trying ACL's on the Reporting Services directorys, ASP.Net security etc but with no success.
