Reporting Services :: Calculating Average Amount Of Working Days In A Month - SSRS 2005 Matrix
Jun 22, 2015I have got this matrix and I am trying to calculate the average amount of working days in a month. At the moment, I have divided the total number of jobs by 21 for every month which is a hard coded value. However, I am not sure how to retrieve this value dynamically. Is there any formula that can find out the working days?

My date column have null fields . Though I have tried putting dummy values it still does not work so its not the problem of NULL.
I am getting Below results:
If I keep Interval one it starts form 11th and ends at 01 dec but it shows all dates.

The expression above gives me the previous month, but I need to have it as "Jan", not "January".

Nov 22, 2015I have a report with an expression to give a calculated field value (VoidDays) as follows:=DateDiff("d",Fields!Void_Start.Value, IIf(Fields!Void_End.Value is nothing, today, Fields!Void_End.Value))I have a number of different codes in the output such as VLOSS, VMAINT, VHOUS etc.When I run my report my days total for VLOSS is always correct but all other values are one day short. In the example shown in image below VMAINT should be 6 days and VHOUS should be 20 days which would then both add up to the VLOSS of 26 days
I cant currently fix these days at source for a number of reasons hence I need to fix these on the report output.How can I add one day onto each of my Void Days Total for every code except VLOSS which is always correct.

Sep 18, 2015I need to create a calculated field that will give me 'yes' or 'no' if a date field is within +/- 28 days of another date field.
So for example if a.date = 1/1/15 and b.date is 30/3/15 the calculated field will say 'no'; if the b.date was 10/1/15 it would say yes.
Similarly, if the b.date was 1/11/14 it would say 'no'; if it was 10/12/14 it would say 'yes'.

Jun 5, 2015I am facing a strange issue with regards to generation of a report from my application in in Live. One of our client is using a report “Auditors Report”. When I try to generate the report for period of 1 month i.e. from 01 May 2015 – 31 May 2015, the report fails when the data is bound to report control. However if I try to generate the report for period of 1 day or 15 days for within the same month, report gets generated.
Now the same application and same database when attached to our local machine, the report gets generated properly for 1 month. I am not sure why the issue is coming on the server.

In the report, I am using Format(field,"dd-MMM-yyyy"), but somehow the result comes out recognizing my month as day and my day as month. How do I fix this?
ie. my report date is 11/06/2015, the result shows 11-Jun-2015 instead of 06-Nov-2015.

In the bar chart graph, I have put the City as X-Categories, Amount Sales as Data
And I want to filter only the lastest year month in the database.
Can we do this without going to database and set the filter there ?

Jun 19, 2015We've got a requirement to build the real time report. user can browse report at any point of time and need to see the latest data(stock market) in the report.
I've few options down...
1. Directly point to OLTP database as source and write stored procedure to show result set.
2. Replicate the database and write the SP's to reports. To avoid pointing directly to OLTP db.
3. To build the datawarehouse with dim & facts to show it in reports. I prefer this as a standard method, but this would have some latency depending on trasaction load which will differ from the requirement.
Reporting Services :: SSRS 2008 R2 - HTTP Error 503 - The Services Is Unavailable
Jul 23, 2010We built our prod server [vm] with SQL Server 2008 R2 on Server 2008 R2. It works nicely. Then we made a copy of the VM and renamed it (so our test environment would be IDENTICAL to production). After that, SSRS was broken: I get "HTTP Error 503. The service is unavailable." I can't connect via http, or SSMS.
We have tried:
* Running SSRS config tool (several times)
* Running with/without the IIS Server Role
* Dropping & recreating the SSRS keys
* Recreating the ReportServer database, etc
* Checking all of the accounts, permissions, etc
* Running SQL Repair
* Going through the registry to fix any references to the machine's old name
* Uninstalling, reinstalling SSRS
* Completely uninstalling ALL of the parts of SQL Server 2008 R2, deleting all directories, removing references to SQL Server from the registry, rebooting, reinstalling everything.
None of this has worked. SSRS [R2] is still 503 on our test box.
the SSRS [NT] service seems to run, without error. The Event Viewer doesn't seem to be recording any errors. The SSRS logs say that the default URL is wrong, but we get the same error in Prod, and Prod works fine. The other SQL Logs say something about not being able to contact the service. However, as I said, the [NT] service seems to be working fine.

Aug 6, 2015I'm using Server 2012 R 2 with SQL Server 2012 Reporting Configuration Manager 11.0.5343.0 . The default time values (pTimeframe) for generating the report of my DPM Summary are the default values Day - Week - Month.
How can I define the value "Last 24 hours" for example?! Because the DPM Server does it backups the whole night starting at 08:00pm the day before and the result of the finished Backups of yesterday won't be shown when I use the defaut value "Day".
I want to send a subscription every morning for the backups only of the night before (not the whole week).

A running total depending on the ID, Year and Month. Although I showed this for two steps I need to get it from one query.
Question is - To get a running total based on ID, Year, Month. If I do the normal group by and sum query I could get it for all the months for each id. But need to then add January value to February and updated February value.

I would like to display two rows of data for each StaffId one representing the current period and the other all periods to date so the table would look something like below.
StaffId | Non Chargeable Time | Chargeable Time
CJJ | 0:20 | 4:20

JN | 0:05 | 5:30
| 1:30 | 25:30
The above shows two separate StaffId figures the first line for each shows non chargeable and chargeable for the current period and the second line a total of all periods in that year.
I have managed to get the first row to display only figures from the current period by using a filter however it also applies the same filter to the second row in the group. I have also tried to group the rows but am drawing a blank.
Reporting Services :: Date Control Does Not Allow Double Click To Move By Month Or Year
Aug 21, 2015I have a SSRS report developed in Visual Studio 2013 and using SQL server 2012. It has a date control based on parameters which works correctly in the development environment. I can select by day AND I can move from date to date by clicking on the month name to be able to move by month or double clicking to be able to move by year.
When the report is deployed to Internet Explorer 11 or Firefox I can only, click back and forward by one day at a time and I can not double click the date control to move by month or double click to move by year. I can type the dates into the parameter box and get the correct result. I have set the compatibility view settings in IE for my server.

On the front sheet I've created system wide figures with a two columns per month and a matrix which is also broken down by category (e.g. child fiction, child non fiction, adult fiction, adult non fiction) which has row and column totals.
I want to have a page like this for each branch in the system.

i want to take the first date of the getadate() and then ad a month then subtract 1 day and ill have the number of days in a month how would i code that?

Sep 29, 2006Hey everyone...I'm completely new to SQL Server and I'm trying to learn the Reporting Services tool. I just installed SQL Server 2005 and selected to install all the options, atleast I'm 99.99% sure I did.
When I go to launch Report Services Configuration, I get "No report servers were found on the specified machine. Details: Invalid namespace". Do I need IIS for this to work?
Also, I do not think the AdventureWorks database was installed, I cannot seem to find it anywhere. I have tried to go back through and reinstall it, but it says that it is already installed.
Also, is there a certain order that you are supposed to install things? i.e. SQL Server before Visual Studios?

*Edit* BTW, I'm using Windows XP, SQL Server Enterprise Edition, and VS.NET 2005.
