My stored procedure give me top 3 activities. My SSRS report design, I am able to display first activity when I select the Activity field from the Stored procedure, how to display 3 activities for each category.. Also I need a solution to sort the categories based on the requirement below.

I am trying to export report to .CSV , but I am unable to export grouped data, instead to grouped data , it exporting detail data,for example my grouped data in matrix is as below , I need to export below data to .csvÂ

I got the following code to add a column in a matrix with a variance:

This code works fine, except that the first row of the matrix shows an #error
This happens with each matrix where I use this expression. A warning emerges:
rsruntimeerrorinexpression the value expression for the textrun Textbox43.Paragraphs[0].TextRuns[0]' contains an error.
Attempted to divide by zero.
The strange thing is that the part
Fields!year.Value=First(Fields!year.Value,"Category")
should prevent an error and I expect it to show 'nothing'
An screenshot of the table. (each color is a different category. Each row stands for 2013, 2014, 2015)
As you can see, all other 2013 rows show a blank cell, except the first row.

I have to map this column in teh report and should dipslay like above.I think if 0.00 is available then it should display as 0..If 1.0 is available then it should display 1.Any value that has postive number after the decimal should display all the values  example : 2.25,3.75,5.06, So in general the solution to display values like 1.75,1,0 we should not dispaly 0 as 0.00 and 1 as 1.00 and 2 as 2.00 and so on...Any Solutions in terms of SQL query  or SSRS expression.

I have a report I'm designing where, as a simple SQL report viewed only on a screen, it was irrelevant how wide it was. However, now I've been asked to duplicate this report in SSRS and to include the option to print it out.
Well, the problem is, as it stands - with 8pt font, even - it will require a sheet of paper about 24" wide to get all of a single row to print.
So, I'm trying to create a Tablix that will split the data into two sets of header/detail rows in the same Tablix. Any workable solution that doesn't involve writing an app in basic or C.

Our division has approximately 300 employees. We have an annual shift bid where seniority is calculated using Date of Hire. If 2 or more employees share the same Date of Hire then we fall back to Date of Application. Currently the SSRS report does a very simple query and shows all the employees in order of their Date of Hire. If they match then it sorts the matching Date of Hire entries alphabetically by the employee name. It then becomes the task of the scheduler to locatethe entries with the same Date of Hire and manually look up the employees' dates of applications then sort them accordingly and re-write the report.Â
Goal:
Convert the manual process into an automatic process by modifying the current SSRS report.
Data:
The dataset is "DivDir" which contains the following fields:Â "EmpName", "DofHire", &Â "AppDate".Â
EmpName   DofHire        AppDate
Adam ......  12/2/1996     11/15/1996
Bob ..... .... 1/16/1997Â Â Â Â Â Â 12/27/1996

I have a matrix within a list and would like to display a field value in the page footer on each page. In the page footer, if I reference a textbox from the matrix the value is always blank? I realize this is most likely a scoping issue but how can I accomplish this?

Man I do come up with strange scenarios, but that is the joy of working in software field right ? ;-)
First off, thanks to anyone taking their time to read this, and Ihope this post paints a clearer picture better than my previous posts.
I have an old stored procedure (which I didn't create) that produces a dataset of the following:-
((All names and values had been changed to protect confidentiality))
region agent_type mailpackage1 mailpackage2 mailpackage3
New York Agenttype1 2000 2300 0
New York Agenttype2 0 0 5
New York Agenttype3 150 2 4000
Central Agenttype2 1234 5678 9
Central Agenttype4 435 1 0
MidWest Agenttype1 555 0 0
West Agenttype1 1 45 0
West Agenttype2 0 2 3
A little bit of explanation:-
Each region can have any type of agents, specified by the number to distinguish different agent types. these agent types mail specific packages to their customers depending on the situation and what the customers asked for. the numbers in each mail package indicate the total that had been sent out by a particular type of an agent. So in this case we are not dealing wtih how many agents are there, just how many packages had been sent out by a specific type of an agent in a region.
Previously the report was produced like you would see in the above dataset. However the client would want it the other way around. Though I didn't show it here, there are plenty of other packages but I am picking three for clarity sake.
So the "new" Report would have to look something like this.
Region: New York
AgentType1 AgentType2 AgentType3 AgentType4
Package1 2000 0 150 0
Package2 2300 0 2 0
Package3 0 5 4000 0
--------------- break page ---------------------------
Region: Central
AgentType1 AgentType2 AgentType3 AgentType4
Package1 0 1234 0 435

I had created a table in the RS that looked like the above with expressions written into the each cell that holds a value. The expression is
=IIF(Fields!agent_type = "AgentType1", mailpackage1.Value, Cint(0)) in the first row, first column of the table.
=IIF(Fields!agent_type = "AgentType1", mailpackage2.Value, Cint(0)) in the second row, first column of the table.
=IIF(Fields!agent_type = "AgentType1", mailpackage3.Value, Cint(0)) in the third row, First column of the table.
And so on....... alternating between agent_type and mailpackage for each cell.
Grouping1: Group by Region, insert page after each group.
What happened was the following:- ((I am putting the first region, because it is also happening for the other regions too)
Region: New York
AgentType1 AgentType2 AgentType3 AgentType4
Package1 2000 0 0 0
Package2 2300 0 0 0
Package3 0 0 0 0

(on a side note, this region didn't print out AgentType4 because there were no data associated with it)
The question is, is there anything else I could have done to prevent this ? as you can see, the data is correct and placed in their right cells but somehow, they won't join together. I got a feelin that it has something to do with the expression that I had put in each cell.
Can someone help or point me in the right direction ? This is really bothering me and I couldn't figure out why it was doing this. Couldnt find any links or maybe i am putting in the wrong keywords in the search. Thanks muchly !

I am having difficulties with what seems to be a common issue. I want to produce a trial balance. The first row of the tablix would include fields: AccountNo, Description and startingbalance from a dataset called tb. Below that, I would like to draw from a dataset called Entries with multiple rows having fields: AccountNo, Desc1, Desc2, Debit, Credit and Balance.    Balance in the Entries table is already computed from the starting balance and the entries above. There are many AccountNo's with corresponding entries. Â
How do I do this?

I am using VS 2010 and the SSRS that came with it. I am sure its SSRS 2008. Anyway, I added a report file to the project, added an ObjectDataSource and connected this to SQLServer 2008, and display the dataset on the report. The report is using ScriptManager, ReportViewer1, and Report1.rdlc file. I preview the dataset and I have multiple row returned. The problem is I only have one row displayed on the report. Maybe I did a quick and dirty report? What setting of properties did I missed?

I have a file directory of tiff images that I need to display dynamically with reporting services. I receive the following error message: "The value of the MIMEType property for the image €˜image1€™ is €œimage/tiff€?, which is not a valid MIMEType." After looking it up sure enough tiff is not a valide type. Does anyone know of a way to display tiff images in reporting services.

I have Successfully deployed the report in Report Server.
And i also successfully called it from Web application using VS 2005.
But the problem is,I am able to view only half of the report in Web Browser.It was Shrinked to Left side of the browser.
I am getting total report when i browse from Report Server URL directly.
Any body pls help me to solve this.

Is it possible to repeat the row labels for matrix reports where there are multiple groups. So if the matrix report rows are department,division,employee then have all three labels show up on each row not just at the breaks. Cannot seem to find a way to do this. thanks

Seems simple. Â People working in departments with different types of hours (regular, overtime, vacation... thus the grid which pivots hours in rows to the appropriate columns). I have a matrix report and as per the requirement, I must format the row colors. First row must be no color and second row must be light blue. This color formatting would repeat for remaining rows in the matrix. I tried to select the entire row in the matrix, selected "Background Color" option and in "Expression" window, I entered "=IIf(RowNumber(nothing) MOD 2, "White","LightBlue")".This resulted in the color formatting of columns in the matrix report.

I am creating a matrix in which row color changes alternately(1st row white second row blue and so on .) now i am calling this matrix as a sub report in other report and i had applied grouping on that row in which this MATRIX is called the problem i am facing is in first sub report 1st row is coming in white color while in second sub report 1st row is coming as blue color background  And so on...
Why so is happening as i want 1st row as white and second row as blue i all sub reports .
