I have a report with a field as follows:
=Fields!Intervention_Type.Value
This field has 25 different Interventions type. i.e
Referral to Physician = 2
Referral to homecare=20
How do I format that so that the results include not only Intervention type with a value but Interventions with a value of 0 as well...
I have created the following report
Name Value
A 150
B 250
C 50
Total 450
The expression for the total is =Sum(Fields!Name.Value)Is there anyway that I can include the Name C in the report but exclude it from the Total value so that it will equate to 400.
I am having trouble finding information on placing a % on a table value for a column of information in SSRS. I can do a "round" but cannot find how to include a % to the percentage. I just see SQL solution which I already know.

I created the report, which has 4 pages. Each page contains bunch of tables and charts, which display data in scope of dataset, created for each page and reflecting certain subject. Each page also has Header and Footer.
My users requested, the report has possibility to include or not include data on Page #4.
Other words, report should display 3 or 4 pages based on the entered parameter.
1. I created parameter named “Include #### metrics”, which contains options: Y, N
2. For each object on the page 4 I added dependency on the selected parameter in the visibility option.
Now if user select parameter Not include Page #4, report displays 3 pages as expected and page #4 is empty, but with Header and Footer.
The problem: Their preference is to not to show page 4 at all if someone chooses to not to include #### metrics.
My question is how to force the report to display just 3 selected pages.
In my report i have CNAME parameter , which allows null value. I checked Allow null value check box in report parameter properties.
when i preview the report , it displays checked NULL check box beside CNAME parameter . I want to give some meaningful name(i.e.ALLCustomers) to this checkbox instead of NULL.
Is it possible through SSRS designer?
I am passing a field value from main report to a parameter in a drill through sub report. But some field values contain 'special characters'. Those field values that contain special characters are not working for drill through. Javascript code to include special characters to pass to sub report parameter?

I have added some parameters in my report to filter out products that are not available in warehouse (LOCATION1) and this works great.

Now the issue starts when I add a parameter to my report for user to choose which outlets (LOCATIONs) he wants in the equation. I know how to make a column disappear based on parameter value but how to take it out of equation? At the moment when user selects only LOCATION2 and not LOCATION3 then data is not filtered correctly:

Ideally I would like a user to select random outlets (warehouse would be static on the report) and compare one or multiple and only show records that are 0 in the outlets.
Im trying to display all twelve results from a dataset in reporting services. On the layout tab I can get the first and last record in my dataset to display by using the commands:
=First(Fields!MonthYear.Value)
=Last(Fields!MonthYear.Value)
But I cant get the ones in between?
I have created a query that is suppose to display the results of opportunities won during a time period the user selects.

I have some data from SQL server which contains NULL values for certain fields. I have to create a chart with sum of a field. There is no category and series groups, we are just showing the total sum of a field in chart. Since I have NULL in my source data, nothing is displayed in the chart. I cannot exclude this record from dataset as I have to use this record for other charts. I have to do some filtering in the chart area itself. I have given IsNothing() in the filter of chart properties. It does not work for me. Even I tried to give IsNothing() in the exp of Sum() .
View 6 Replies View RelatedHi:I have an application in which I am producing a lists of media outlets based on a number of 6 possible parameters including location, medium, format, scope, language and coverage. I have an interface in which users can select some or all of the possible parameters. Where they don't choose a parameter - e.g. location, I would like the SELECT query to include all locations. I am at the point now of writing 6 X 6 = 36 possible queries to handle the different combinations of possible parameters. This seems a bit excessive and clumsy. I am just learning about stored procedures and was wondering if it is possible to create a procedure that would accept the 6 parameters including ones with null or 0 values and generate a query that would ignore those that were null or zero. View 5 Replies View RelatedI have created a query in which I have used first_value, lead, lag windows functions. I tried using the query in SSRS query text, but for some reason it could not load. Then I created a stored procedure and implemented that query in stored proc.
The problem is that I am able to execute the stoured proc from sql server studio, but SSRS is not able to load data.
I am trying to create an SSRS report to display a single row of Household information (from CRM Dynamics) Household being the Parent Entity, with 1:N relationship with Contact Entity.

I have a report with datetime parameter which is required to be optional (there should be an option not to select this parameter which would cause in not narrowing result of this report by this parameter).
I used datetime parameter
@daTo (to have the calendar control for selecting date) and check on "Allow Null" value. Here is default Value.
I've also tried to set DefaultValue expression was "=Nothing".
IN my query of data set, here is the part I use the parameter @daTo
... Where (@daTo IS NULL OR TRUNC(@daTo) >= TRUNC(pe.start_time) ....
But when I run the report, I got below error:
ORA-00932: inconsistent datatypes: expected DATE got NUMBER
I think it @daTo value actually not null so it try to TRunc the value
I don't know how to set null value default in my report.

I have a report. I need to make a drop-down parameter optional. I've setup the parameter to use a dataset as its source, and I need to allow the value to be null. I've selected allow nulls check box, and I've even tried setting the default value to System.DBNull.Value. But, when the entry is not selected (blank), no data ever comes back. If the data is blank or null, my procedure works (I've tested it). How do I send a null value to the database through reporting services report? I was hoping to avoid creating a special query just for that purpose.

The issue is that some of the individual sales reps are also on sales "Teams" of 2-4 people, and I am not sure how to account for that when I am building pivot tables without relying on slicers and CTRL clicking.
I also don't want to resort to programmatically duplicating rows via SQL.

The values of the field Order_Taken_By is all text characters, no integer values.
Running the inital Query by itself yields results. When I add the parameter, I can make a selection, but now I get no results, even though there should be values for the choice I've chosen.

I have a stored procedure that on two fields it allows null. On the report, I have two DropDownList boxes that are populated with data, however, I would like the user to be able to have the option of not selecting an item from these list, thus passing null to the stored procedure.
When I goto "Report | Report Parameters" I have set these fields to "allow null" and "allow blank" and at the bottom I also gave it the default value of null.
When I run the report in preview mode, those two dropdownlist have a <Select a Value> and my assumption is since I want them to pass null, I will just leave them that way. However, when the report is ran, I receive an error saying "Please select a value for the parameter: (my parameter)". So it forces me to select an option at which I don't want to do.
How can I set this to pass a null?

I am trying to get a null value to pass to a multi-select parameter in SSRS 2005. The multi-select box is getting its possible values from the following query:
SELECT NULL CMP_ID, '<all companies>' COMPANY UNION SELECT DISTINCT T1.CMP_ID, T1.COMPANY FROM VIEWCOMPANYLIST T1 WHERE T1.DIV_ID = 2 ORDER BY 1
This query is pre-pending a row with NULL as the first ID. The resulting data set is exactly what you would expect - Row 1 has a null in column CMP_ID, and <all companies> in column COMPANY. All the rest of the rows have proper data. My multi-select parameter box is of type Multi-value Int, with possible values populated by this query and a default of NULL. However, when I preview the report, the <all companies> row disappears.
It's not even in the list, and it's not getting selected by the default selector. So, of course, when I try to View Report without selecting anything, I get prompted to select a company. Why the prepended row in my dataset is getting dropped from the multi-select box at display time? And yes, I have to be able to pass a null value because the stored procedure on which the report is based expects this parameter to be optional.
I have a report with multiple datasets, the first of which pulls in data based on user entered parameters (sales date range and property use codes). Dataset1 pulls property id's and other sales data from a table (2014_COST) based on the user's parameters.
I have set up another table (AUDITS) that I would like to use in dataset6. This table has 3 columns (Property ID's, Sales Price and Sales Date). I would like for dataset6 to pull the Property ID's that are NOT contained in the results from dataset1. In other words, I'd like the results of dataset6 to show me the property id's that are contained in the AUDITS table but which are not being pulled into dataset1. Both tables are in the same database.

In the flat file SampleID and Product are populated in the first row only, rest of the rows only have values for Rep_Number, Protein, Fat, Solids.
SampleID and Product are blank for the rest of the rows. So my task is to fill those blank rows with the first row that has the sampleID and Product and load into the table.
