I also created these parameters like Server, Database, LoginID, Password in report paramenters
but when I try to run this I am getting either of these errors
error no 1.The current action cannot be completed because the user data source credentials that are required to execute this report are not stored in the report server database. (rsInvalidDataSourceCredentialSetting)
error no 2.An error has occurred during report processing. Cannot create a connection to data source 'SRVDataSource'. For more information about this error navigate to the report server on the local server machine, or enable remote errors
I have created reports using in SSRS 2005 and deployed in Reportserver.
when I run the reports I am getting the following error.
" The current action cannot be completed because the user data source credentials that are required to execute this report are not stored in the report server database. (rsInvalidDataSourceCredentialSetting)
I have few reports under different folders in Report Manager. Is there a way to set the data source for the whole folder rather than each report individually? There is also a folder where reports generate dynamically. Since the report project doesn't exist anymore, I can't set the data source through code. How can I set the data source for the whole folder?
I've been working on an application that uploads an RDL to Reporting Services (through the SOAP webservice method CreateReport) programmatically. I'm having difficulty setting up the data source properties for my uploaded report. In particular the Data Source Credentials property.
The datasource for my report doesn't require credentials. By default after I upload the report to Reporting Services, the Data Source Credentials property is set to "Credentials supplied by the user running the report". How do I go about setting the Data Source Credentials property to "Credentials are not required" programmatically through the webservice?
I am attempting to pass report parameters to my query. My report's data source is a WCF web service. I can run normal queries fine, but I have found that without the know-how to pass parameters to my query I am limited with my capabilities.
Assume a string parameter named "Name" with a specified default value of "Jmachol90", how would I pass that into the following query at the designated place:
I have a SSRS 2012 report which references a custom c# assembly. This report exists in multiple environments (alpha, beta and production ) which are each associated with different data sources.
Is there a way for the assembly to determine the datasource used by the calling report so it can also connect to it?
we have problems with our SQL Reporting Service 2012 (SSRS) server . We have setup Kerberos delegation between SSRS and the database server (SQL Server Always-on cluster) so users are authenticated down to the database. The issue occurs from time to time that SSRS loses the ability to delegate the user credentials to the database. At this point in time the Report Server logs contain rejected database connections because of ANONYMOUS logon. After restarting SSRS the problem is gone.
I'm working on a project that requires integration of SQL Server Reporting Services with ASP.NET 3.0 Web Applications. I'm working on Visual Studio 2005, with SQL Server 2005 on an XP development workstation. SQL Server, Reporting Services, and IIS are all running on my local machine.
I'm trying to prototype two approaches, one using the Report Viewer control, and the second using the Reporting Services Web Service. I have the two examples setup in projects in Visual Studio. The sample reports and data sources work fine in Visual Studio. I can access the report using the Reporting Services URL like this: http://localhost/Reports/Pages/Report.aspx?ItemPath=%2fBTT_BDS_DEV%2fCustomers; Report works fine.
My problem is, that when I try and access the report using the Report Viewer inside an ASP.NET page or from the Web Serivce hooked up inside an ASP.NET Page I get a security errors. I have chosen Windows Security for the Datasource, and ASP.NET pages. In the case of the Web Service, I'm passing in my local domain user name as the credentials.
I'm prototyping this on my local workstation, but I need to design this to be used on our corporate Intranet using Windows Security.
My questions are:
1. How do I need to setup users on my local development workstation to get this to work. 2. How should I plan for user security for enterprise deployment, i.e. using Reporting Services inside a large ASP.NET Web Application? 3. Can anybody give me some links to some good developer type working examples of doing this. I've looked but have not found the answers to the "how do I setup users" part of the question specifcally related to ASP.NET apps?
Below is the code example of the Web Services example app I'm working with which came out of a book I have on Reporting Services. This example compiles and seems like it would work but doesn't. Also following are a few of the error messages I get when experimenting with the example apps:

I have an order , (order id) and multiple boxes (ex: 7 boxes)
I must create a report, that contains among others a bar code => composed like this : "orderId+01" for the first box, "orderId+02" for the second box, .... , "orderId+07" for the 7-th box
I need this report to repeat itself for each box , only the bar code is changed.
Once I call it , it must generate 7 labels in this example.
Now i am able to generate only one report. Iam using report builder 3.0
I have done the following and a domain user would not access report created a login to the SQL server to the user (this SQL Server is where data source DB is)went to site setting in Report Manager and made this use a system userright clicked on report folder and made this user in the browser roleeven checked that in the report in question, the user is already in the browser role Still the user would not access the report! "User .......... does not have required permission" is the error message I am getting.
On my report, I have two parameters that are used to filter my report. I would like for the report to initially run without filters and without having the user required to input parameters. I know that this can be accomplished by using the multi value parameter and having it "Select All" by default, but for my parameters, I would like for each parameter to only allow the user to select one value. Is it possible to have this requirement without having to enable select multi values?
After adding cascading parameters my report which was running earlier is failing. I'm using Report builder 3.0, windows 2008r2, am running the report from the server
Error message "An error has occurred during report processing.(rsProcessingAborted)
Query execution failed for dataset 'LastName' (rsErrorExecutinGcOMMAND) Incorrect Syntax near ','."
Is there a way where i can look up the code in xml using report builder or some other way so that i can delete the extra '','.
How can I identify the computer of the person running an SRS report? If I query HOST_NAME() it gives me the host of the reporting server, not the person browsing. So, for example, Melissa opens a browser from computer named AAA to the SRS and pulls up her report. How do I get that report to show that the user is browsing from AAA?
My requirement for the parameter is multivalue parameter with a text box. for example when user enters aa15 it need to include product aa15. when the user enters aa15, aa16, zz15 than it needs to include all the three products. the last case is when the user enters AA** than i need to inclued all the products start with AA. when i use default multivalue parameter with data source analytical services than i am getting a drop down box. I dont want that. I need a text box where user can enter the value. 1. In sql we have a like key word to query . for example select * from product where product like "AA%". what is equavalent mdx query to get such results ? 2.How to impliment the multivalue parameters without using dropdown box?
Is there any way to get SSRS 2014 report viewer to run in standards mode? We currently host SSRS report viewer in a standards mode IFrame. Seems to work fine for all browsers but IE8. In IE8, the report detail is missing.
I'm guessing that SSRS Viewer on IE 8 requires Quirks mode.
I noticed this article which states that SSRS 2014 Viewer only works in quirks mode.
Rendering issues with SQL Server Reporting Services reports in Internet Explorer
How do you get the SSRS viewer to run on IE8 in standards mode?
I have created several reports in SQL Server 2005 reporting services and I am viewing those reports in my C# application using a report viewer control. I want to pass the credentials for each report through my applications. I do not want to use any web service.
I created a report using report builder and uploaded into the report manager. I gave the following roles to the user (Browseer, My Reports and Report Builder). The user can access the URL and the folder , but when he clicks on the report, he is getting the following error "There are no items in the folder, click here for more information"...But the report exists in that folder.
Hi guys. I've got an Xml DataSource in my report server, used to talk to a web service to retrieve it's data. Now, since this is an Xml DataSource that talks to a Web service, i shouldn't have to give it credentials to run with, or - since the web service runs on the machine right next to my report server - I could use Windows Integrated Auth. However ... when I try to use Windows Integrated auth. I get back the error:"This data source is configured to use Windows integrated security. Windows integrated security is either disabled for this report server or your report server is using Trusted Account mode. "And when I tried to use no credentials, before I can even see the report, I get the error:"the user data source credentials that are required to execute this report are not stored in the report server database." - where I just told it that it doesn't need credentials to run this datasource !!!
I made one report in SSRS 2008 in which getting data from one SharePoint List.
three parameters in report :
Country StartDate EndDate
I am using query which I created with CAML.
query is running well and data is coming correctly if I run this on Query designer.and date format must be YYYY-MM-DD.but when I try to run through on run time then the date control is showing format dd/mm/yyyy.
I change the regional settings of windows and SharePoint site to English(United States). and when I select date control it is also putting date in format like "YYYY-MM-DD'. and in that format report is working well in Query designer view. But on run time still it is not working.
I am building a series of reports using SQLExpress reporting services through the Visual Studio design environment. I can gain access for creating the reports, but when I try to deploy them, I am asked for a user name and password. I can find no values that will work. I have tried to set all the configuration fields in SQL and reporting services to use the Windows credentials. I have only been able to view reports which already exist by adding LocalHost/SQLExpress to the trusted intranet zones in my browser. How do I avoid needing security credentials to work on my own machine?
I have created a report in RS and it works fine (am invoking from VB.Net - windows forms).
However, I have copied the report into a new one as I need a very similar looking report to be called from the same application, but if I attempt to invoke it in the same way as the first I get the following error:
"An attempt was made to set credentials for a data source '<name>' associated with thre report. Report data source settings are specified in a way that prevens credentials from being submitted to the report server."
I am passing the credentials like so:
Dim cc As New DataSourceCredentials Dim cred() As DataSourceCredentials = {cc}
I need to know is there any way to end user customization with SSRS, we are using ASP.Net page, we need to create SSRS report with end user customization like mail merge, but we don't want end user to use Report Builder or Report Designer.
I'm trying to use stored credentials to enable caching. I've created a special windows user account with minimum permissions for just this task, and once set up, it works great (almost).
I can update the shared data source using SQL Mgt Studio or directly via the Report Manager to use a set of -windows- stored credentials. But I don't seem to be able to do the same via VS.NET 2005. I can only store -SQL- credentials, which I have no need to enable and no desire to add to my surface area.
The problem lies that every time I deploy any report that using that data source (which is nearly all of them), the data source is re-published, which wipes out the stored credentials and caching immediately stops.
I've tried messing with the XML directly, with no luck, and changing assorted advanced settings, but nothing seems to stick.
Obviously I can manually update the credentials each time I deploy something, but surely it seems that there must be a better way. Is there a way to either set the DS to use stored windows credentials, or just plain prevent the deployment of the DS every time a dependent report is published?
I have 4 Tablix and 2 of the Tablix get data from Server 1 and other 2 get the data from Server 2.I have set NoRowsMessage "=Data Not Available for the Selected Values" for all the 4 Tablix. Now if data is not available from Server 1 then I must show "Data Not Available for the Selected Values" only once in the outputbut now its appearing twice in the output because of the 2 tablix that had no rows.Similarly if data not available from Server 2 then it should show "Data Not Available for the Selected Values" only once in my output. If Data not avilable from all the Tablix then also i t should show only once as "Data Not Available for the Selected Values" in the report output.
We have a new installation of sql server 2005 reporting services. we can deploy reports without a problem users can connect to report server but when they try to run reports they get this error msg.
An error has occurred during report processing. Cannot create a connection to data source 'xxxxx'. For more information about this error navigate to the report server on the local server machine, or enable remote errors
in reporting services the datasource credentials are saved on the server
I want to run SSRS report directly by connecting Excel as a data source. The report runs properly from SSDT, but when it is run from Report manager, some users cannot access the Excel connection and the report execution fails. I am using SSRS 2012 and Excel 2010.I have created the ODBC data connection in SSRS and when I use 'Windows Integrated Security' option for credentials, the connection gets successful. But the problem is that all users does not have permissions to access the Excel inline, but they should get the report working. How can I store the credentials to access the Excel in SSRS with a specific username and password?
I have set up a report on reporting services and deployed it on a server. (server A) The data comes from 2 databases - one on Server A and one on server B
I can view the reports when logged into Server A, but if I try to view them from a networked PC I get the following message:
An error has occurred during report processing.
Cannot create a connection to data source 'byvshs01'.
For more information about this error navigate to the report server on the local server machine, or enable remote errors
Byvshs01 is Server B.
However, if I remove the data from server B from the report, I can view it ok. So it seems you can view data from a DB located on the server that hosts the reports, but not if the DB is located elsewhere.
