how can I pull up an image from the file system eansted of a table field? From the table i only get the name and the path where the image is stored and wiht that info I want to fill up the picture box of the report.

Broken Image When Using SQL 2000 Reporting Services

I have a report that works fine when i deploy it in the development environment, but when i deploy the same report on the production server pointing to the same data source as the development environment; the images doesn't show up. I do see broken image X on all the images.
I searched the internet but couldn't find a solution to solve this problem. Any help on this will be appreciated.

I cant view my image in my reports after deploying them where as I can view my image in the preview tab. And also I can view the image if I take printout from the deplyed reports. What could be the reason?
Can anyone help me here..??I did embedded the image(.jpg file) to my rdl file.

May 28, 2015I have a requirement where i have to display some data which is coming from a sub report when i click on an image. I have two problems here,
1) if i provide toggle on image text box it is displaying + symbol which i don't want
2) If i provide image properties -> action -> go to report -> it is displaying the values in a different page but my requirement is to display in the same page
Conclusion is : when i click on the image(without + symbolo) i have to display sub report values in the same page.
Reporting Services :: Image In SSRS In PNG Format - PDF Rendering
Nov 4, 2015I have a image in SSRS which is of PNG in format. when I preview the image it is coming as expected but if I export that to PDF the image is having the black color back ground. One more point to be noted here is my actual image file is having a small shading in it which is not visible properly, but the same back ground is coming with full black color line in the PDF form.
Another issue is : I have 3 sub reports in my SSRS report. In the preview I can see the data is coming in order of sub reports but if I export it to PDF the second sub-report data is coming at the end of the report and first and 3rd sub reports are fine. But If I have only one record for 2nd sub-report the order is same in both the Preview page as well as in the PDF format.

Display Image Datatype From A Table In Reporting Services Report..!
Jul 23, 2005I have a table that has an image datatype column and I also have acontant type column in that same table to define which type of data isstored in that table.In this case a screen shot or may be a word document may be stored inthat table....!I am trying to use that image datatype field in my report and when theyclick some button I needed the reporting service report to open awindow based on the content type and display that image.Has anyone done this? I am aware of the fact that the look and feel of the existing controls on the toolbar can be customised or can be hidden using HtmlViewer.css. Is there any code which I can tweak to add buttons or images on the report toolbar?

SSRS is hosted on a SQL 2014 instance.The underlying database table has a varchar(max) field which stores text and embedded image data from a third-party application. I can extract this text, save it as an html file and open that in a browser. It renders complete with any embedded image.Meanwhile, the report textbox has its Placeholder Properties, Markup type set to HTML. Yet when I run the report, the text is displayed but any embedded image is not.Is there any approach I can take, perhaps transforming the varchar(max) data to another format in the query for my dataset, that can show the text and any embedded image in my report? Or is it that the TextBox control is limited, not unreasonably, to text only? If so, is there another control I could use, perhaps custom or third-party?

I have a server report which made by ssrs 2005, I am using vs 2005 to build an aspx page and call this report which already uses dynamic query. I use parameters and send these to reportviewer with setparameter method. I dont use DataBind and Refresh method. SetParameter is enough to generate Report. When report generates everything is fine. But when i export this report to excel the pictures in this report get smaller to fit in cell height. I used rendering extensions but its same.

And i used copy contents of reportviewer and paste it to excel file. There is interesting case here. If this is the first time that i run the report and copy and paste. No image is seen in excel workseet but other report elements is fine. But if i click on refresh button on reportviewer toolbar and report regenerates, i try to copy and paste and it works fine, and if i dont close ie window copy and paste progress works good and i dont need to click on refresh button on each report to copy and paste?
This is so interesting subject, i tried lots of things for example i tried to use databind and ServerReport.Refresh methods maybe it acts like clicking on refresh button but this wasnt the same only difference is it took more time to generate the report.
Any help?

Sep 18, 2015In an asp.net app I'm creating email attachments from ssrs reports and am rendering them In Word and Excel using the WORDOPENXML and EXCELOPENXML format extensions. When I render the report in excel, the image is sized correctly, however, when I render the same report in word, its very small. I will attach a screenshot of each, and in the word screenshot, I will select the image so you can see the image control's outline (the control's actual size). Notice the image inside of the border is very small. How can I resolve this?

I am trying to migrate my reports from SQL server 2000 reporting services 32bit to 2005 64bit. I am following the migration steps that MS specified.
Restored my Reportserver and ReportserverTempDB databases
Then I was using the configure Report services to upgrade these databases but I always end up getting the follwoing exception when I run the upgrade on the "Database Setup" configuration for 'ReportServerTempDB' database

Compatibility Of SQL Express Reporting Services With SQL 2000 Reporting Services
Dec 6, 2006I'm attempting to obtain a cost effective solution for my existing customers to develop reports on their SQL 2000 Server installations using their Reporting Services 2000. With products like Visual Basic.NET 2003 becoming almost impossible to obtain, I have at least one customer who is running into a dead end.
One option possibly is the SQL Express with Advanced Services download, which has Reporting Services. My questions are as follows:
Can the report designer component of SQL Express Reporting Services be configured to connect to an external database (which would happen to be a SQL 2000 database) to establish its datasets?
Does the resultant designed report end up in an RDL file? If the customer published this report via the Reporting Services 2000 Report Manager, would the report be able to run?
Sorry for asking a question like this that I could probably answer on my own, but my customer needed this answer yesterday. I have scoured the web and microsoft sites - and posted a question on the official SQL Reporting Services cateogy ... in an attempt to answer the basic question of how to design reports for Reporting Services 2000 in the absence of Visual Basic.NET 2003 (or other .NET 2003 tools) with no success.

Currently: We use currently devexpress reports and we have 2 languages(Arabic and English). the data in tables saved in two ways (Arabic and English). when the end user change the language of the web site the report data language changed when run it.
Example:
we have table with (ID, NAME_AR, NAME_EN, JobTitle_AR, JobTitle_EN). designed report will display(ID, NAME_EN, JobTitle_EN) . but the end user change the language of the system the report will

I use Business Objects in My Report
and one of My object's property's type is "Image" or "BitMap"
when i Drop that property in my report and set value in "Fields!MyPicture.Value" and Run that then i see "#Error"
when i drop an "Image" from Toolbar and set that in "Database" and set value in "Fields!MyPicture.Value" and Run that then i see a red "X"
how can i show my image property from business object in my Report (.rdlc)

To Access Reporting Sevices (Report Manager, Reporting Web Services), Does One Has To Be An Admin On The Machine

Our DBA has installed reporting services on a server and now in order to access the report manager, one has to be an Admin on that Server. I am guessing that there is a mistake in the configuration of Reporting Services. Usually it should allow anybody who was added to the roles in the properties section of the Report Manager, right? I have also added the users to the DB..
Also I am using Windows Authentication to access Report Catalog items (Reporting Services is installed on Server2) from a web Application(deployed on Server1) and displaying the report using report viewer. For some reason, server1 has to be in an Admin role on Server2 to access the report catalog/report. This is kinda strange for me as I don't want everybody to be an Admin on Server2. Can anybody please point in the right direction?

I've few options down...
1. Directly point to OLTP database as source and write stored procedure to show result set.
2. Replicate the database and write the SP's to reports. To avoid pointing directly to OLTP db.
3. To build the datawarehouse with dim & facts to show it in reports. I prefer this as a standard method, but this would have some latency depending on trasaction load which will differ from the requirement.
Reporting Services ReportServer DB Reporting - 3rd Party Tool ?

Which reports were requested, by whom , how long did they run for, what parameters were passed etc etc.
I see that the system tables do provide some of this information, is there a 3rd party tool or something we can use to gather all this type of information for us?

I have just install SQL 2005 SP2 and trying to get Window SharePoint Services V3 integrated with SQL 2005 SP2 reporting services.
In SharePoint Central Administration, I select the Reporting Services Integration page and have setup the Report Server Web Service URL and Authentication Mode. I then goto Grant database access, specify the SQL server name, get promted for a username and password that has access SQL Reportserver and get the following error "The group name could not be found"
Does anyone have any ideas?

Reporting Services :: SSRS 2008 R2 - HTTP Error 503 - The Services Is Unavailable
Jul 23, 2010We built our prod server [vm] with SQL Server 2008 R2 on Server 2008 R2. It works nicely. Then we made a copy of the VM and renamed it (so our test environment would be IDENTICAL to production). After that, SSRS was broken: I get "HTTP Error 503. The service is unavailable." I can't connect via http, or SSMS.
We have tried:
* Running SSRS config tool (several times)
* Running with/without the IIS Server Role
* Dropping & recreating the SSRS keys
* Recreating the ReportServer database, etc
* Checking all of the accounts, permissions, etc
* Running SQL Repair
* Going through the registry to fix any references to the machine's old name
* Uninstalling, reinstalling SSRS
* Completely uninstalling ALL of the parts of SQL Server 2008 R2, deleting all directories, removing references to SQL Server from the registry, rebooting, reinstalling everything.
None of this has worked. SSRS [R2] is still 503 on our test box.
the SSRS [NT] service seems to run, without error. The Event Viewer doesn't seem to be recording any errors. The SSRS logs say that the default URL is wrong, but we get the same error in Prod, and Prod works fine. The other SQL Logs say something about not being able to contact the service. However, as I said, the [NT] service seems to be working fine.
