I am creating a Matrix report using SSRS/Visual Studio 2008 as below:

A & B are customers. The values represent sales for each month.I have got most parts in place except the Month are displayed in random order (1,10,2,3,4,5,6 and so on).I have tried the option to create a calculated column with month numbers and change group properties but that did not work.how to get it to sort display as 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10.
I have a matrix report with 2 column SaleAmount and ProfitAmounts by Month like

how can i do following 3 things
1)Add Total column for Sale and Average column for Profit 2)Sort report by lastMonth of Sale (here 7/1/2007) High to low 3)if last month of sale(here 7/1/2007) is less than second last month here (6/1/2007) whole row should be red
I got the following code to add a column in a matrix with a variance:

This code works fine, except that the first row of the matrix shows an #error
This happens with each matrix where I use this expression. A warning emerges:
rsruntimeerrorinexpression the value expression for the textrun Textbox43.Paragraphs[0].TextRuns[0]' contains an error.
Attempted to divide by zero.
The strange thing is that the part
Fields!year.Value=First(Fields!year.Value,"Category") should prevent an error and I expect it to show 'nothing'
An screenshot of the table. (each color is a different category. Each row stands for 2013, 2014, 2015)
As you can see, all other 2013 rows show a blank cell, except the first row.
Now I would like to sort these by using the Interactive sort functions - but I have seen elsewhere that this is not possible..(I'm also getting an error when trying..)Is there not a way that I can bypass this (using Code function or similar) ? The datasource for the data is a OLAP cube
I've been reading a lot of posts on this subject. I understand that the issue is due to the fact that the subreport is only rendered once. So after the main report is sorted on another column, the cell with the subreport produces an error.
What I want to know is whether or not this is considered a defect. And if it is a defect, is it fixed in another version?

I am using Report Builder 3.0 and i have report which has a drill down group. The report opens in a collapsed form.This report has interactive sorting on a column. But,when we drill down and sort the column, the group collapses and the details disappear.
In some posts, i have seen that instead of interactive sorting, people recommended a parameter. But i have to do interactive sorting only.
Seems simple. People working in departments with different types of hours (regular, overtime, vacation... thus the grid which pivots hours in rows to the appropriate columns). I want to subtotal by department, but whenever I try to add totals after to that group, I just get a grand total. No subtotals. Why?
I have a matrix report and as per the requirement, I must format the row colors. First row must be no color and second row must be light blue. This color formatting would repeat for remaining rows in the matrix. I tried to select the entire row in the matrix, selected "Background Color" option and in "Expression" window, I entered "=IIf(RowNumber(nothing) MOD 2, "White","LightBlue")".This resulted in the color formatting of columns in the matrix report.
I have one Matrix Report developed in BIDS(2008R2). If I export this report into Excel sheet exact structure what i developed in BIDS its coming. But If I exported into CSV I am loosing Structure and Columns showing as Rows.

SSRS 2012 - VS2010...The report compares two years with a sort order on a value that has been engineered based on text switched to int. When sorting A-Z this is the result in the horizontal axis is: 5th, K, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th..When sorting Z-A the result in the horizontal axis is:5th, 4th, 3rd, 2nd, 1st, PreK..Z-A is correct but A-Z sorting shows 5th as the start and end. The magnitude of the PreK location is correct but the label is wrong on the A-Z sort order. The sorting is implemented using the Category Group sorting option.

I have created a matrix report having "Probability" in Row and "Impact" in Column and "Risk ID" in Data Part .
Now the problem which I am facing is I need to fill matrix with different color value based on combination of Probability and Impact.
I am able to write the expression in "Fill" area of "Risk_ID" text box but the problem is only those text box gets colored which are having Risk-Id value in it like shown below.I want all text box to be colored even if no Risk_Id is there in any text box.

I have a dataset with weekly salary of multiple employees of same grade from different dpt. We are not going to show the report based on employ. The report will be showing data based on Employee grade and their department.
I have created a Matrix report with 5 row groups (Company and ProductName, ProductEndDate), one column group (Status) and two data columns(Amount & Count).
The report works fine except that it does not sort properly. I want to sort the data by Company, ProductEndDate, ProductName.
I took the following steps -- I highlighted the matrix and in the properties dialog box, selected the groups tab. In groups I selected each row group, hit the edit button, clicked the sorting tab and Company, ProductEndDate, ProductName.
We mark cells in a report using color names like red, pink, and transparent in the fill expression. In the browser it works correctly. When exported to Excel the colors go to the wrong cells. This worked correctly in SSRS 2008.

I have a matrix with the rows consisting of customers and the columns consisting of different revenue streams. The revenue streams are totalled using the matrix subtotal feature. I would like to sort, either interactively or statically (if that is the only option) by the subtotal column. I've read through everything I can find online and even the solutions that appear to be appropriate do not work. Can anyone give me a suggestion?

how would i make the columns appear in the above order when displaying as it is default alphetically sorted...I have tried putting numbers at the front which work till I get to the number 10 which alphetically sorted is next to 1 not 9? is there a better way off sorting matrix column which have no specific criteria to sort from?
I have a requirement where i have to display some data in the form of multi column but the main report should be in a standard one.I have tried by using sub report as multi column and used that in my main report but when i preview the report it is considering it as a normal report.Do we have any feature in SSRS to have both multi & standard report layouts in one report.
I am creating a report in SSRS which has the following criteria:
- Row 1 (parent) is 'Product'
- Row 2 (child) is 'Feed'
- Columns are date. I have 5 dates showing at any one time across the top. The date field is set up as a parameter so depending on the date the user selects, the report will show that date on the end column and then the 4 days prior to that in the other columns.
- Data is the number of records.
I have a sub total on the Product and the report is collapsed on Product as default.
What i'm stuck on is trying to insert a column at the very end that will show the variance between the last two dates. So the difference between the date the user selected (@date parameter) and the day before that.
i just clicked on Advanced mode in Column Group, and then in Row Group Side i set Fixed Data=true for first top static. I'm using local report not server report and i'm displaying that local report in Reportviewer. Now also its not working....
Will the width property of a column be able to be set at run-time (i.e. ability to set the width of a column to an expression) in SQL Reporting Services 2008? One problem I have seen is the inability to set the width of columns in a report when you you have several columns whose order is determined based on parameters.
Lets say I have 2 columns in a report and two fields from the database which will populate those columns: 1 field that is varchar(5) and one which is varchar(50). If I do not know which column each field will go to until runtime how am I supposed to adjust the column width? Letting the column width be set by an expression would solve everything as I could pass the width in to the report. As it stands now, I would have to set each column's width to accomodate a field of type varchar(50) in order to avoid wrapping of data.
You could say just create 2 reports, one for each case, but what if I had 15 fields? 20?how to dynamically set the width of a column? Will the width of a column be able to be set at run-time in SQL Server Reporting Services 2008 via expression or some other means?
I've created an SSRS report in Report builder and I'm displaying it in SharePoint 2010. What I would need to do is to sort according to my totals -column. My report structure is as follows:
The first and column second columns are the ID and the name of a customer. There are over 35.000 consolidated customers in the database.
The third column is the column which I would like my report to be sorted upon. It gives the sum (Amount_EUR) of all different productlines sold to the customer.
The fourth column in this report design model is the product groups sold to that customer. There over twenty of product groups visible when Running the report.
This is what my report looks like when finished (you'd have to scroll a lot to the right if I took the whole of the report so I cut only a part of it to be visible):
I tried to add a sorting option from the reports Tablix properties and adding this code as the sorting function:
=SUM(Fields!Amount_EUR.Value)
But I'm getting an error: "A sort expression for the tablix 'Tablix1' includes an aggregate function. Aggregate functions cannot be used in data row sort expressions."
Ok, so no aggregate functions aren't allowed to the sort.
If I just put:
=Fields!Amount_EUR.Value and sort by that from Z to A(biggest to largest) it doesn't have any effect. The report is still sorted alphabetically by the ParentID.
I've also tried some other code bits, but they all seem to be saying that I couldn't put an aggregate function into the sort expression....but my Total -column is already calculated with a Sum -function....
Is it possible sort my report based on that Total -column? If yes, how? I'm using SSRS 2008

Note I need to keep all the tables on the same page and when exported in excel they should come on same page sheet.
In Report Builder 1.0 you could drag a column to a filter and see the data before select the values for the filter.I can't find a way to do that in report builder 3.0. is it possible to see the data of a column in Report builder or SSRS?
