View 5 RepliesHi all,
I am using the asp.net web application and microsoft visual studio reportviewer control and rdlc for creating a report ( not using sql server reporting). I used the Product table to view the result. It has five fields and I display all the itemsin the report. One field is Description and it store the html code as the value(eg:<div><ul><li>a</li><li>b</li></ul><b>aaaa</b></div>). I want to disply the output of this html code in my report's description field. But in my report, it shows the html value that I stored in my table (:<div><ul><li>a</li><li>b</li></ul><b>aaaa</b></div>). How can I render the html in my report. Please give me a solution.
I am creating an RDLC report. but it is rendering very slow. I have very small amount of data and still it takes a long time in rendering. I thought it might be due to amount of SQL data so i cut data to 5 rows and 5 columns only. still it renders very slowly.I am using Visual Studio 2012 and SQL server 2012 for deployments. Also i have a good hard ware configuration and still it takes upto 5 minutes in loading a report.
View 2 Replies View RelatedHi all,
i got through the installation of the Sql Server 2000 Reporting services evaluation and managed to deploy a couple reports and a shared data source to my reporting server on my DEV box.
Now im trying to view the reports i made online and they never render, all i get is the animated gif that always says "Report is being generated". This goes on and on with apparently no end in sight.
I CAN preview the reports in VS 2003 and they render almost instantly. there are no differences that may affect the connection to the database between my development computer (with VS 2003) and the server that the reporting server is on.
Anyone have any ideas as to why this may be happening ?
thanks,
mcm
I know that SSRS default rendering formats is HTML. is there anyway we can change this behaviour to render in XM format for specific reports.

I have created a .rdlc file in MVC application. I have used Matrix in report and also i have bar charts. Issue is when I view the report in my application--all the months data and all the years data is getting summed up..

Hi
We are having an issue with reporting services when it is viewed in IE.
We can design the report in visual studio and it looks fine, however when we upload the report to reporting services it displays the report incorrectly (shown below)http://static.flickr.com/103/298669551_7395fc946d.jpg
When it is print previewed it looks like this (which is the correct layout)http://static.flickr.com/104/298669558_cfd56ffd0e.jpg
Any advice would be most appreciated! Thanks Ross
I developed a rdlc report. I have a graph chart. Sometimes the value of a label can =0. If the value =0 I want to hide the labelname. However, I also have dummy values =0. This is so that I can have spaces between the bars. The dummy values labels isn't shown in the graph. This works great. I need to add to the expression that if the name of the label isn't dummy but the value =0 to hide the labelname.
The data from sql:

Expression in graph under chart data->category groups->category group properties->label:
=Microsoft.VisualBasic.Interaction.SWITCH(Fields!LabelName.Value = "aTotalForRetire", "Retirement", Fields!LabelName.Value = "cTotalForRelatives", "Relatives", Fields!LabelName.Value = "eTotalForDisability",
"Disability")
The result is below. I want to hide the label relatives as in this example the value=0. It will not always be the case. How can I do that?
I want to use mapbox static map api to build report in SSRS. But i have i problem, that SSRS does not understand image.
View 5 Replies View RelatedWe have a winforms application with local rdlc reports. Â On Surface Windows 8 Pro devices only, reports render such that they are scaled down and don't fill the page. Â If resolution is lowered on the device, the report scales up to fill the page.
This affects the appearance in print layout and well as the actual printed size.
If we export to pdf, it renders to fill the page (as expected). Â If you print to pdf or to printer, the scale is shrunken.
If we change the resolution settings so that "Make  text and other items larger or smaller" is set to small, the issue is resolved except the tablet is not very usable on this setting. Is this a bug?
I have a report with an overlay image & textboxes. This is a government form. The report render well in html. But, when exporting it to PDF the first 17 pages rendered well and the subsequent pages (the report is a 155 pages long) didn't. From page 18+, a blank page appears until the end.

re: Reporting Options with SQL Server
I wanted to propose an offshoot to the pryor thread:
Would anyone take a stab at comparing Access Reports, Crystal Reports,
Cognos or other options to all the Reporting Services and its components offered as part ofSQL Server, especially as to extracting data from SQL Server into a report format?
I guess this is a far as capabilites, ease of use, limitations, and especially formatting
or presentation of the end report product?
Thank you to all, and I hope this is a beneficial discussion to others.

Hi,
I will be using RDLC files to display reports in various pages.

This is somewhat like using a CSS file for aspx pages.

For some reason a stored procedure which I have created is incorrectlysaving the date to the table. It seems the day and month are beingswapped around e.g. a date which should be the 12th April (12/04/2005)is saving as the 4th December (04/12/2005).The parameter used in the stored procedure comes from a VB6 app, Iamended this so the format was "yyyymmdd hh:mm:ss". The full line in VBbeing,Parameters.Append .CreateParameter("date_of_call", adChar, , 17,Format(firstCallDateTime, "yyyymmdd hh:mm:ss"))When I run my VB app it works fine, the syntax in the stored procedureis,CREATE PROCEDURE dbo.spUpdValues@data_id int,@date_of_call datetimeasupdate dataSET date_of_call = CONVERT(char, @date_of_call, 101)where data_id=@data_idIs it because the convert format is using an american date format ? Ican't see why as I can't reproduce this error using my own PC as thedate saves correctly, I can also confirm it's not happening to everybodywho uses the app. If it is happening for specifc users then what couldbe the cause. I've checked Regional Settings and all seems fine there.Any ideas on what could be doing this as I'm struggling to investigateany further. To debug I ran the stored procedure direct, manually inputting thevariable - again no problem. Also, the following SQL statment shows noproblem...declare @date_of_call datetimeset @date_of_call = '20041101 08:30:00'select CONVERT(char, @date_of_call, 101)select CONVERT(char, @date_of_call, 106)------------------------------11/01/2004(1 row(s) affected)------------------------------01 Nov 2004(1 row(s) affected)Any help would be much appreciated.*** Sent via Developersdex http://www.developersdex.com ***
View 10 Replies View RelatedWe are using SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services and looking to render our reports to Microsoft Word format. We€™ve searched around and haven€™t really found any useful information on how to do this.
Is Microsoft planning on releasing a Word rendering extension? If so, when?
Has anyone written a custom rendering extension for Word? Or, does anyone know how to write a custom rendering extension for Word?
We need either a Microsoft solution that€™s already built-in to Reporting Services or a solid, free solution. We are not in the market of buying a third-party product like OfficeWriter.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
I have installed and am using Reporting Services.
I can create RDL files using Visual Studio.NET, but like to offload this task to a minion who does not have VS.NET.
Is there a stripped down something-or-other to make reports that and end user or business analyst could use and then upload the reports?
Thanks.
Can anyone tell me if MS Reporting Services can import/read a Crystal Reports file as it can an Access report file?
I've seen a few posts out on other boards that there are some companies charging fees for converting Crystal Reports over to MS Reporting Services.
Is there any easier way? Are there any tools out there that can do it?
Perhaps Microsoft should produce such a tool for converting...
Thanks in advance for any help!!

Is it possible to render multiple reports into a single report ?
Can anyone help me in this regard ?

We are using SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services and looking to render multiple reports into one output file. So, for example, say we have four reports and when the user asks for the reports to be generated, we would like to have all four reports come out in one PDF (or Excel or HTML) file instead of four separate files. I hope this makes sense.
Is there any way to render multiple reports to one output file?
Thanks!
Hi all,
Currently I have a project that require me to use reporting services (Reports) together with ASP.net web application.
However, I have the following problem.
I have an asp.net web application. From there, I have a textbox whereby user can type a specific date. The specific date should then be incorporate with the sql reporting services. The report that is being generated will contain data that is on the specific date.
How can I do that?
I try to search through the internet but to no result. Can anyone help out?
Thank you so much.
