Reporting Services :: Results Are Giving 5 Rows Instead Of 1 Row?

I have created a query that is suppose to display the results of opportunities won during a time period the user selects.
When I run the report, I get 5 rows of the exact same result.
How come I am getting this?

I using TOP N filter in my report to fetch top 20 Projects as per expense done.
Expression- Project_name
Operator- TOP N
value- 20
However it is not fetching the correct values. It is giving me 20 records but those are not the TOP 20.
It is missing few values from between.

I am in a project where we are using a vanillla Reporting Services 2005 with the builtin report portal. No sharepoint integration yet.
We have successful deployments where we limit access to different folders based on AD-accounts and groups. In this particular case I have a folder for which I would like to allow access to all AD-users within the entire company.
So basically I know how to limit access but I don't know how to enable access for everyone. Is there a simple way to do it? I have googled and search mshelp but I couldn't find anything. I will admit to the search being quite quick but as usual time is short.

I have a report with multiple tables. I need to show each tables in different pages. When there is no data for tables/tables , it is coming with the next table which has data. I have given "Add a page break after" option in the tablix but still the tables are coming together when no data available. How can I show it in different page?

I have a view over 5 tables that has started giving unreliable results. There are three records that should be different, but in a production Access database, the view is giving three identical records where there should be three unique records. I have tested the view within SQL Server Management Studio and it gives the correct records there. But, I have attached this same view into the same Access database with two separate names. One instance of the view within Access database gives the correct records, and the other gives the incorrect (duplicated) records. I have attached screen shots that show these two separately named incarnations of the same SQL View, with the duplicated data, or the unique data highlighted.
I have also included the SQL query specs for this view.
what I can do to this view in order for it to always give us the unique records that we need, rather than sometimes the correct records, and sometimes the incorrect records.

Im trying to display all twelve results from a dataset in reporting services. On the layout tab I can get the first and last record in my dataset to display by using the commands:
=First(Fields!MonthYear.Value)
=Last(Fields!MonthYear.Value)
But I cant get the ones in between?

I have the following SELECT statement attached to a dropdown box:
SELECT [Workshop] FROM [Workshops] WHERE Workshop <> (SELECT Workshop FROM Workshop_Registration WHERE FullName = @FullName AND Completed = @Completed) ORDER BY [Workshop]
I am trying to get all workshops (50 or more) from the WORKSHOPS table that the logged in user is not already registered for. This works perfectly as long as the student is registered for at least 1 class. It populates the dropdown with all of the other classes. If they aren't registered for a class then it doesn't list any classes. The problem is definitely the subquery, but how do I make it to where if the subquery doesn't return any results (student not registered for anything), I get all of the workshops in the dropdown? Any help is appreciated!

I have 2 tables. Product, ProductCategory.
Product table consists of (productid, productname, producttypeid, createdate, portid)
productcategory consists of (productid, categoryid, productcategoryid, categoryid, prodroletypeid, createdate)
I want to write sql query to get the unique products. So the count should only give one value/resuls. But when I run the following query, I am getting more than one rows
select count(distinct categoryid) as uniquecat
from productcategory as pc, product as p

I have created a query in which I have used first_value, lead, lag windows functions. I tried using the query in SSRS query text, but for some reason it could not load. Then I created a stored procedure and implemented that query in stored proc.
The problem is that I am able to execute the stoured proc from sql server studio, but SSRS is not able to load data.

So, this is my Query for dataset "SalesOrder":

I would like to have a parameter on my report to Select by Order_Taken_By. My attempt at that is here:
Dataset called OrderTaken:
select distinct SO_Header.Order_Taken_By
from SO_Header
Under the report Parameter Properties named @Order, under Available Values
Selected "Get Values from a query"
I have DataSet: OrderTaken
Value Field: Order_Taken_By
Label Field: Order_Taken_By
The values of the field Order_Taken_By is all text characters, no integer values.
Running the inital Query by itself yields results. When I add the parameter, I can make a selection, but now I get no results, even though there should be values for the choice I've chosen.

I have dataset ready having sales rep ID and other column like customer ID, company name, Email adress and transaction month as shown above how can i make a row group by sales rep id and each tab (when we export report to excel) I mean one tab for A sales repID , another tab for B...I did row group parent group and group by sales repID but not working as expected.

When I use ExecuteNonQuery() with the stored procedure below it returns -1. However, when i tried to get rid of the if/else statements and just leave one insert statement for testing purposes, ExecuteNonQuery() returns the correct affected rows which is 1. So it seems like ExecuteNonQuery() doesn't work when the INSERT statement is inside the IF..ELSE. Can anybody help me with this problem? I haven't tried using @@RowCount because I really want to use ExecuteNonQuery() to do this because I don't want to rewrite my DAL. I have a report I'm designing where, as a simple SQL report viewed only on a screen, it was irrelevant how wide it was. However, now I've been asked to duplicate this report in SSRS and to include the option to print it out.
Well, the problem is, as it stands - with 8pt font, even - it will require a sheet of paper about 24" wide to get all of a single row to print.
So, I'm trying to create a Tablix that will split the data into two sets of header/detail rows in the same Tablix. Any workable solution that doesn't involve writing an app in basic or C.

I need the tablix that is not displaying data not to be as big as the one's that are in lighter terms.

How do I decrease the size of the tablix if no data is displaying so it co inside's with the rest of the tablix as in this image.
I have
1. Right-click the tablix and select Properties.
2. Click Visibility.
3. Select Show or hide based on an expression.
But I return, A hidden expression in textbox returned a datatype that is not valid.
I don't want to hide or show based on the result I just require that the tablix that doesn't return data stay's in proportion with the rest.

I have an SSRS report I'm working on. I have Row Groups plus details.
A) How can I get the row group headers to repeat on every line?
B) I would still like to use the drill down, click the plus sign, and have that work when I export to excel.
Here is the report header: URL....My first thought was is there a way simply to cause the header to repeat. I cannot find that anywhere to do that.My second though was to split the cells and copy the fields to all the rows.Here is the same header with split cells:URL....two problems.
A) I cannot split one cell; See the "X" in the second capture.
B) How do I still hid the rows until I drill down.

I am fairly new to reporting services and recently created a simple tabular report. There is one table which queries the database and I would like to change the table so there are more than 25 rows of data per page. How do I do this? Also it would be advantageous to know how to set the report to only create a new page for every different item in a column. E.g., if I have various data for each date, I would like to only create a new page when the date changes so that all data for a specific date is on one page etc etc.

Our division has approximately 300 employees. We have an annual shift bid where seniority is calculated using Date of Hire. If 2 or more employees share the same Date of Hire then we fall back to Date of Application. Currently the SSRS report does a very simple query and shows all the employees in order of their Date of Hire. If they match then it sorts the matching Date of Hire entries alphabetically by the employee name. It then becomes the task of the scheduler to locatethe entries with the same Date of Hire and manually look up the employees' dates of applications then sort them accordingly and re-write the report.
Goal:
Convert the manual process into an automatic process by modifying the current SSRS report.
Data:
The dataset is "DivDir" which contains the following fields: "EmpName", "DofHire", & "AppDate".
EmpName DofHire AppDate
Adam ...... 12/2/1996 11/15/1996
Bob ..... .... 1/16/1997 12/27/1996
Charlie ....... 1/16/1997 12/12/1996
Dan ...... ... 4/11/2001 3/22/2001
In the above example I want the SSRS report to list the employees in this order: Adam, Charlie, Bob, Dan.How do I do this programmatically using SSRS?

I have a dataset in my report that pulls 10 fields. One of the tablixes on report should display only 8 of the 10 fields and this is causing the duplicate records to show up on the tablix.I tried hide duplicates option for the entire details row and have set the scope to "Details". It did not work. I am getting the data from a stored procedure and cannot do much on that.

how to create indented child rows under the parent, in SSRS report. I am quite new to SSRS, the group by function works in a different (and obvious) way then what I want.I have a sample dataset as below.

I have one SSRS report which uses drill down "+" approach. The records will be opening only when you click on the "+" sign. There are 3 levels of "+" sign in the report. All records are included when exporting to excel. Is it possible to exclude all the records? Can we show only the opened records.?
