Filtering With SQL Reporting Services 2005 (SSRS)

hi,
I have a trouble in filtering with SQL reporting services 2005 (SSRS). Please help me in clearing this issue.
I have a textbox and an dropdownbox with all the column names of a table in it. I will be entering some text in the textbox and will select a column name in the dropdownbox. I should get a result by checking the value of the textbox in the selected colum from the dropdownbox.
I give the query in where condition as: "(@dropdownvalue LIKE @Textboxname) ", which is not working.

I have written a custom rendering extension for my reporting services. In one of my function inside custom rendering assembly, I want to access the underlying dataset and manipulate with it. I gain some knowledge on dataextension but not able to use it successfully. Can someone please help me get to underlying dataset?

Multi Value For Single Parameter (reporting Services SSRS 2005)

I'm using SSRS 2005 which connects to SQL Server 2005. I need to pass Multi valus for single parameter...
E.g. Command type : Text
SELECT * FROM COUNTRY where CountryId IN ( @CountryID)
If i tried to preview using single parameter, it shows the record without any problem. However when i tried to put multi values, it gives error message?? I read somewhere which says, need to set to multivalue. But, i could not find the place to set the multi value option...
How to solve it?? Your suggestion/recommendations greatly appreciated.

Reporting Services Login Box Appears When Trying To Deploy In SSRS 2005

I installed SQL Server 2005 SP2 recently. After that when I try to
deploy a solution in SSRS 2005, I get a dialog box with title:
"Reporting Services Login". It has my server listed as the first row:
"http://localhost/reportserver" and then it has two text boxes asking
for Username and Password.
I checked my IIS settings and only Integrated Security is checked for
the Reports Server folder (and for the entire website). I tried to
change that to Allow Anonymous Access = Checked, but still the same
problem.
Any ideas?

Jun 15, 2009We're migrating from SSRS 2005 to SSRS 2008. We use itextsharp (a pdf processing library) to merge different PDF outputs into one large PDF file. This was working brilliantly in SSRS 2005, but in SSRS 2008, itextsharp *can* open and parse the PDF, but itext sees the "content" section of the PDF pages as blank. So, the resulting composite PDF ends up being a series of blank pages. Acrobat 9 and a couple other PDF tools (tested linux Evince and win GIMP) seem to be able to open the SSRS 2008-generated PDF fine, but the java-version of itext, and the .net version of itext (itextsharp) see nothing but blanks.So, I realize this points to a problem with itext, but I'm curious if merging PDFS outputed from SSRS 2008, and what PDF tools/libraries they are using.

Reporting Services :: SSRS 2005 Custom Report Rendering Format Not Working?
Jun 3, 2015I'm trying to add a custom report format to ssrs 2005 as per this [URL] I've added the code snippets in the example to three different ssrs 2005 server RSReportServer.config files but it does not work i.e do not show up in the export drop down when rendering report.
I've tried starting and stopping reporting services and it still does not works.
I've also modified the existing csv extension with different options to see if it works but to no avail.However it works with SSRS2008 R2 . In fact it works right after I saved the config file, no restart needed.For SSRS2005 the file is in C:Program FilesMicrosoft SQL ServerMSSQL.3Reporting ServicesReportServer. I checked the registry setting just to make sure I'm looking at the correct installation 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE', 'SOFTWAREMicrosoftMicrosoft SQL Server90ToolsClientSetup', 'SQLPath' The three ssrs2005 instances are in three different physical servers and the problem is with all of them so it is not an isolated incident. I've dbowner rights to all three servers. The server versions are 9.0.4060, 9.0.4035 and 9.0.4053
Reporting Services :: How To Change Email Address - Sent From
Sep 21, 2015I just moved our SSRS server from one machine to another. It was sending our report emails from a service account. So when my end users get the emailed report it was from a service account (reports@blah.com) .
Now that I moved the DB to another server - the reports get emailed successfully - but they are being sent from my email address!
I have checked the rsreportserver config file. I also checked in the report server smtp setup and they both show the service account. I even checked the subscription owners and accounts.
SSRS is using my account, but I can't find where it's getting it from. Where else can I look?
How To Make IM Address A Hyperlink In Reporting Services?
Apr 2, 2008In my report, I have a field for AIM screen names. I need to make this field a hyperlink so user can click on it and send an instant message to the clicked screen name using AIM.
I added this to the "Jump to URL:" box in the Navigation tab but it didn't work:

If I type this in the URL box on IE then the AIM window opens so I don't know what's wrong.

At the moment, I have divided the total number of jobs by 21 for every month which is a hard coded value. However, I am not sure how to retrieve this value dynamically. I scheduled my subscription and tested it. I didn't receive any mail from the setting email address, but got an error message in ReportServerService log file as following.
Error sending mail, CDO error -2147220978, will not resend
Error sending email. System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x8004020E): The server rejected the sender address. The server response was: 530 authentication required - for help go to http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/mail/pop/pop-11.html
I did a little search, but couldn't find any solution for it. Is anybody successfully to get the Reporting Services subscription by email function working through MS SQL Server Management Studio or if you have a solution for this issue, would you mind to share the experience with me. I will be very appreciated.

I've few options down...
1. Directly point to OLTP database as source and write stored procedure to show result set.
2. Replicate the database and write the SP's to reports. To avoid pointing directly to OLTP db.
3. To build the datawarehouse with dim & facts to show it in reports. I prefer this as a standard method, but this would have some latency depending on trasaction load which will differ from the requirement.
Reporting Services :: SSRS 2008 R2 - HTTP Error 503 - The Services Is Unavailable
Jul 23, 2010We built our prod server [vm] with SQL Server 2008 R2 on Server 2008 R2. It works nicely. Then we made a copy of the VM and renamed it (so our test environment would be IDENTICAL to production). After that, SSRS was broken: I get "HTTP Error 503. The service is unavailable." I can't connect via http, or SSMS.
We have tried:
* Running SSRS config tool (several times)
* Running with/without the IIS Server Role
* Dropping & recreating the SSRS keys
* Recreating the ReportServer database, etc
* Checking all of the accounts, permissions, etc
* Running SQL Repair
* Going through the registry to fix any references to the machine's old name
* Uninstalling, reinstalling SSRS
* Completely uninstalling ALL of the parts of SQL Server 2008 R2, deleting all directories, removing references to SQL Server from the registry, rebooting, reinstalling everything.
None of this has worked. SSRS [R2] is still 503 on our test box.
the SSRS [NT] service seems to run, without error. The Event Viewer doesn't seem to be recording any errors. The SSRS logs say that the default URL is wrong, but we get the same error in Prod, and Prod works fine. The other SQL Logs say something about not being able to contact the service. However, as I said, the [NT] service seems to be working fine.
Migrate From 32bit 2000 Reporting Services To 2005 64bit Reporting Services

I am trying to migrate my reports from SQL server 2000 reporting services 32bit to 2005 64bit. I am following the migration steps that MS specified.
Restored my Reportserver and ReportserverTempDB databases
Then I was using the configure Report services to upgrade these databases but I always end up getting the follwoing exception when I run the upgrade on the "Database Setup" configuration for 'ReportServerTempDB' database

Sep 29, 2006Hey everyone...I'm completely new to SQL Server and I'm trying to learn the Reporting Services tool. I just installed SQL Server 2005 and selected to install all the options, atleast I'm 99.99% sure I did.
When I go to launch Report Services Configuration, I get "No report servers were found on the specified machine. Details: Invalid namespace". Do I need IIS for this to work?
Also, I do not think the AdventureWorks database was installed, I cannot seem to find it anywhere. I have tried to go back through and reinstall it, but it says that it is already installed.
Also, is there a certain order that you are supposed to install things? i.e. SQL Server before Visual Studios?

Anyway, I added a report file to the project, added an ObjectDataSource and connected this to SQLServer 2008, and display the dataset on the report. The report is using ScriptManager, ReportViewer1, and Report1.rdlc file. I preview the dataset and I have multiple row returned. The problem is I only have one row displayed on the report. Maybe I did a quick and dirty report? What setting of properties did I missed?

Reporting Services :: Mdx Multi Value In SSRS?
May 30, 2015I was trying to have multivalue options in a ssrs report, and I used this query
SELECT {[Measures].[Sales Amount],[Measures].[Tax Amount]} on columns,non empty([Product].[Color].[Color],[Product].[Product Name].[Product Name]) on rows

from [Analysis Services Tutorial])
But the report only showed the default value as an option(in this format [Product].[Color].&[Multi] whic is not presentable),and what I also noticed in the parameter option is that, the available values option is set to none , also when I try to use get from query , it does not give me the vales for the parameters,and when I right click the designer pane it does not have the show hidden dataset option.I have created the parameter with multivalue option. what can I do to get the multivalue option to work.

I amended the configuration file of rsreportserver.config with the below:

If I run the report and then click export by selecting the csv format, it looks ok with the encoding of UTF-8.
However, the same report , when I created a subscription and saved it in the hard driver. Its encoding became USC-2 Little Endian.

Jan 7, 2010When the SSRS report exported to CSV file, all the column headers are added in the first row. The issue here is, I have hidden( thru Visibility property) some of the columns in the report but those columns are also displayed in the header row(first row)CSV file and the blank values for their corresponding data.for example, I have displayed only below 3 columns out of 6 columns in the report.col1, col2, col3but the CSV generated as below:
format..col1,col2,col3,col4,col5,col6a1,a2,a3,,,b1,b2,b3,,,c1,c2,c3,,,
I don't want the highlighted items.The TableColumn Visibility property has been setup as below..

When the report is exported to other formats(like Excel,XML..) this works fine.. i.e., no hidden columns are displayed.

Jun 18, 2015I have below query which is working fine in SQL but if i use same query in SSRS dataset then it is not working at all.If i put only one condition in where clause then it works but if i put multiple conditions then it does not works in SSRS and through error "data is not available".

As you can see in code i have tried with both where conditions but it is not working. It seems that SSRS does not supports multiple conditions for same field.
