Reporting Services :: SSRS 2012 - Groups In Report Manager Not Present When Exported To Excel
Mar 2, 2015
I have a report in SSRS2012. It was copied from SSRS2005 quite recently, as we have upgraded. The SQL developer said that it didn't need any code changes, as he had some kind of tool to test code problems between the two versions. The report has a table, with 5 row groups, and one detail row. The table is setup as follows:
Name Sales Costs Profit
Group1
Group2
Group3
Group4
Group5
DetailsRow
When I run this report using the Report Manager website from SSRS2005, and then export to Excel 2013, I get the 6 row groups in Excel, no problem whatsoever. I can drill into each group in Excel, using the group drilldown column on the left hand side. This works the same as the Report Manager website.
If I run the exact same report from the Report Manager website in SSRS2012, the Report Manager result is the same as SSRS2005 - all the row groups are present, and the drilldown works fine. However, the export to Excel has issues with the groups. There are only 3 row groups showing in Excel, along with a column group added for no apparent reason.
Drilling into each group shows inconsistent details, and there is no apparent logic as to what is shown within each group. I should also mention, that this issue with groups is seen on all my reports which have groups, not just this report.
We are showing hovering data in the report. When we hover the pointer of the mouse over cell, it shows the data. But when we export the report in excel, hover functionality is not working in exported report. Finding the solution to ensure hovering should work in the exported excel report.
I have one SSRS report which contains indents but it is not included when exporting to excel sheet. Is it possible to include indents when exporting to excel?I have included indent in the textbox property of a field-->Alignment-->Padding Options-->Left-->Exp-->
=CStr(2+(Level()*20))&"pt"
This is working fine in the SSRS report but its not applied when exporting to excel.
I am facing some issue in rendering my SSRS report(2012 version) to excel sheet with color codes. i am using conditional formatting to display the colors. So what is happening is ,take the below expression as an example, for the id = 0, we are not getting white back ground, we are getting some other colors. But the same thing is working fine in SSRS 2008R2.
I have a report with three subreport, i want to hide data of subreport while exporting reporting in to excel. I have used this function (=IFF Globals! Render foramt.IsInteractive,False,True) but didnt work.
We mark cells in a report using color names like red, pink, and transparent in the fill expression. In the browser it works correctly. When exported to Excel the colors go to the wrong cells. This worked correctly in SSRS 2008.
For developing a report I'm using SQL Server 2000 with SP4 & MS Visual Studio .Net 2003. After expoting a report in excel format file, the size of the excel file is so much big that while openning the report file it seemed to be hanged the PC.
Is there any way to reduce the size of the excel in reporting services?
I have an issue as to where only some reports are visible within Report Viewer url. But if I navigate to the path of the rdl's there are many more present that should be visible through Report Viewer. The client was recently upgraded, and I seem to have all out of box roles and permission levels yet can only see some of those reports, as if some were manually copied to this folder location at a later point and perhaps some user job needs to be run to reflect import those additional rdl's?
I am exporting SSRS report to Excel I am aware that excel doesn't show footer , It shows in print preview but my footer has text box which have text disclaimer more than 255 characters, the data getting truncated.
As the page only has 21cm and the report grows horizontally, I need to repeat the WHOLE report with all of its sections after every 4 customers. So if I have 5 customers, there would be three pages(let's say every subreport takes 1 page) for the first four customers, and then another three pages(with every section once again) just for one customer.
Is it possible? It doesn't seem somehing out of the ordinary, but I can't figure how to make it work. Everytime there is more than 4 customers, the report breaks its layout trying to accommodate the records in a new table below the tables of each subreport.
The expected result would be to bring all of exceeding data to new pages.
I have done the following and a domain user would not access report created a login to the SQL server to the user (this SQL Server is where data source DB is)went to site setting in Report Manager and made this use a system userright clicked on report folder and made this user in the browser roleeven checked that in the report in question, the user is already in the browser role Still the user would not access the report! "User .......... does not have required permission" is the error message I am getting.
I have written a report visual studio. The report has 10 multi-value parameters that pull data from their individual data sets within the reports. When running the report from within Visual Studio it renders fine. There are no errors reported, only a warning related to a pathname I have use to retrieve image data and display on the report.Deployment of the report is error free. When I view the report I briefly get the "Loading" splash window, but then nothing. None of the headers or static text is displayed. The results window is blank.
The report defaults all the parameter values. In trying to debug the issue I have found by reducing the number of parameter values the report will render. Once I have all the values added, the report does nothing.Below is the query being used for the report. The where clause in the query shows the parameters being used and the syntax. We are running on Windows Server 2008 R2 and SQL Server 2008 R2.
Ralph SELECT RTRIM(a.ITEMNMBR) AS Style, RTRIM(a.ITEMDESC) AS Description, a.ITMSHNAM AS UPC, c.LOCNCODE AS Store, d.LISTPRCE AS ListPrice, a.CURRCOST AS Cost, a.USCATVLS_1 AS [Main Category], a.USCATVLS_2 AS Market, a.USCATVLS_3 AS [Alternate Retail], a.USCATVLS_4 AS Country, b.ITEMXTRAS_1_Type AS Type, b.ITEMXTRAS_2_Finish AS Finish, b.ITEMXTRAS_3_SubCategory AS SubCategory, b.ITEMXTRAS_4_Department AS Department,
I have a ssrs report having 2 tables in with 4 columns in each. When I go to export option in preview I can see all data coming in one excel sheet, But I am trying to get 2 tables in 2 different pages in Excel when I export.First page of excel comes with first table data with 4 columns and second page of excel comes with second table data with 4 columns .
I am trying to get my ssrs report in an excel. I want the report to be displayed in a single excel sheet, however, I am getting multiple sheets. I have even tried the page break functionality and used the
expression(=IIF(Globals!RenderFormat.Name="EXCEL",TRUE,FALSE) in the tablix properties--> pagebreak--->disabled option.
I am exporting the ssrs report with Execl sheet but iam getting this error in excel sheet"The number in this cell is formatted as text or preceded by an apostrophe ".
I am having difficulty in exporting a report to Excel that has drill-down grouping created in SSRS 2008 R2. I can export with the report expanded or with just the summary and both look fine, but when it gets to Excel it looses the toggle ability which I need for it to retain.
I have a SSRS 2012 report which have few columns with long text. They appear good when viewed in browser. However, when I export it to excel data is shrinking. How can I avoid the data shrinking in excel.
I have a report in that report having some Text boxes and below tables. But the problem is when i export the report into excel textboxes are merged, not getting properly.
I have one SSRS report which uses drill down "+" approach. The records will be opening only when you click on the "+" sign. There are 3 levels of "+" sign in the report. All records are included when exporting to excel. Is it possible to exclude all the records? Can we show only the opened records.?
I need to create an report from SSRS and then exported it in excel for the user. It has dynamic header/footer and dynamic excel sheet name. The developer told that it is not possible to have both the things dynamic.
I am getting extra column while exporting SSRS report into excel but those columns not in my report. How to avoid these columns please find the attached screen shot with red circle.
I have report which has 5 columns. User want to export report file in Excel format. when exported report then by default 2 columns will be hidden in excel and user can unhide columns after export in excel.I did column hide on report level and show in result set in excel sheet by using Global render format.
We are using SSRS 2012. We have a report that conditionally formats a background color for some cells. The report renders properly in a browser and in Excel 2003 format. In Excel format all cells after the first one that meets the condition are highlighted, even if only one cell should.
The sample expression that triggers this condition looks like this: =IIF(Fields!VIOL_NOTE.Value="Internal","Green","No Color")
All cells after the first one that meets the condition Fields!VIOL_NOTE.Value="Internal" have a green background.
I have 3 SSRS 2014 (Dev, UAT and Prod). I would like to change background colors of each environment and customize the title 'SQL Server Reporting Services' to ' SSRS Development'.
I prefer to implement both, a background color change and a title change. The reason for this is to clarify to end users which environment they are working with.
Where can I make those minimal changes in SSRS 2014.
I created a SSRS Reports in SQL Server 2012 and deployed in server, I want this report to be accessed by one particular User created in that hosted server and any time if user hits the Report URL it asked for login Prompt.Suppose if I create a Windows User "ReportUser" in report server , I want when user hits the URL he should be able to access the report by providing the 'ReportUser" credentials.
1) SSRS in native mode 2) 2012 3) I have "Browser, Content Manager, My Reports, Publisher, Report Builder" permissions on the folder that has the report
I can't see the drop down list associated with the report that's hosted inside the folder. Here's what I mean by drop down list -- the one that lists things like: properties, subscribe, etc. In other words If i click on that dropdown arrow, I don't see the list.
I have a drill down report which need to be exported to excel. But, when exporting to excel it shows many unwanted blank rows for a particular record due to the drill down option.
Is it possible to remove it?
I need to exclude the rows in yellow color when exporting to excel.
We developed some of the chart reports. It is working fine when we preview the reports in the solution itself. After deployment to reportserver, when we access the same report, It is showing empty rectangle box (border of chart body). We have already checked data source/ Dataset mapping for the report.
issue where SSRS reports being executed from a report library in SharePoint intermittently are reloaded after hitting the apply button to run. We are using SSRS 2010 and SharePoint 2013 in integrated mode. So a user clicks on the report, fills in the parameters and hits apply. Maybe 70% of the time the report runs fine. The other 30% the report just reloads and wipes out any parameter selections. We do have a load balancer in front of the web servers.
I've ran fiddler to capture some of the error logging.
Things we have tried. Multiple versions of IE 8,9,10,11, Firefox, Chrome. All browsers seem to exhibit the behavior.
We ran so more traffic monitoring and it doesn't appear on these refreshes that report actually connects to the data context so it seems to be failing prior to that. (Possibly at the SharePoint server. Logging from the server apparently didn't show much in terms of when this occurred) It doesn't seem to matter if the report has 1 or 10 parameters.
We did notice that when we took the load balancer out of the equation and just hit the web server directly, the refreshes "appeared" to decrease in regularity but still occur. Also, the reports do not exhibit the refresh issue when running locally within Visual Studio 2013.
I build a tablix A in SSRS, which contains a tablix B and a textbox C. When the report is exported to word, I found that there is white space between the tablix B and textbox C if the row of tablix B is spilled over to next page.
If I export the report to PDF, the white space issue is gone.
Was reported to me that reports were running but data was not being displayed. After checknig the Config manager I found that if I went to the reportserver url then clicked on a report it would diplay he correct data. But when trying it on the normal website it would not display anything.
