2.How to change the report rdl name with the same name like EmpUpdatedreportJune 29 2015.rdl ,it is possible to create and change the rdl file name with the current dateandmonth.
I am trying to use one dataset rather than two and was hoping to then filter the data via a table or matrix.

I would like to display two rows of data for each StaffId one representing the current period and the other all periods to date so the table would look something like below.
StaffId | Non Chargeable Time | Chargeable Time
CJJ | 0:20 | 4:20
| 4:50 | 19:20
JN | 0:05 | 5:30
| 1:30 | 25:30
The above shows two separate StaffId figures the first line for each shows non chargeable and chargeable for the current period and the second line a total of all periods in that year.
I have managed to get the first row to display only figures from the current period by using a filter however it also applies the same filter to the second row in the group. I have also tried to group the rows but am drawing a blank.
In SSRS report I have 2 parameters start date and end date, so when somebody is selecting end date more than a month(if today date is 22 then they are selecting aug 23) then it should give error message to user like "Date out of range".

I have a SSRS report developed in Visual Studio 2013 and using SQL server 2012. It has a date control based on parameters which works correctly in the development environment. I can select by day AND I can move from date to date by clicking on the month name to be able to move by month or double clicking to be able to move by year.
When the report is deployed to Internet Explorer 11 or Firefox I can only, click back and forward by one day at a time and I can not double click the date control to move by month or double click to move by year. I can type the dates into the parameter box and get the correct result. I have set the compatibility view settings in IE for my server.
How to display the logo in middle of report header , The logo is embedded in the Image folder . The column of the report are static. we are using SSRS 2008

I have a set of SSRS reports published on the server. It can be accessed through a web application or through SharePoint. Most of the reports work fine through both - web app and SharePoint. However, one of the report, which returns large amount of data has some problem:
1. It generates fine from web app
2. It generates fine from SharePoint; only if one or two values selected from Filter dropdown
3. However, if all items (about 20 items) selected from Filter dropdown... and click on View Report, it processes for a while and then shows nothing. The page remains blank.
Did some research and felt the problem is with Distributed Cache Service.
Tried restarting it; tried changing SPDistributedCacheClientSetting settings - requestTimeout, channelOpenTimeout... but didn't work.
I checked Event Viewer logs, SharePoint logs and SSRS logs but couldn't find any relevant error messages.
We are showing hovering data in the report. When we hover the pointer of the mouse over cell, it shows the data. But when we export the report in excel, hover functionality is not working in exported report. Finding the solution to ensure hovering should work in the exported excel report.

Now i am creating SSRS Report in Report builder . In there i have taken one image control to show the images. In the Image properties in report builder i have chosen database under the select the image source field. then inside use this field i have chosen image url and in use this MIME Type i have selected image/jpeg. Now i have saved this report in report server folder.
Now while calling in .net web from through report viewer control. It is opening the report but wont showing the image.

I have the following script that calculates Sales by month and current year.
We run a Fiscal year from April 1st thru March 31st.
So April 2012 sales are considered Fiscal Year 2013.
Is there a way I can alter this script to get Fiscal Year Totals?

I have three types of specific reports that i have to create with the input parameters (range) either
1: By date (rdl 1)
2.By Month (rdl 2)
3.By Year (rdl 3)
Is it possible ( or how do I ) to create just one report template ( one rdl) with the three sets of parameters ( hiding/invisible which ever two sets base on user selection) and the output of the report will display the desired type( either by year, month or date).
I ask this because its possible to create a drill down report from year down to date etc in report designer (vs 2005). Not sure if I can create one instead of three rdls and with the 'logic' built within that template.

I am making a book-like report, I am using a report that has a header and calling a sub-report that has it's own header. However the sub-report header is not showing on the parent report. Parent report header is prevailing over the sub-report. Is it possible to have both headers displaying?

How to select max of year-month in the Reporting Services. For example I have 3 fields :
1. Year-Month (format : yyyy-mm)
2. City
3. Amount Sales
In the bar chart graph, I have put the City as X-Categories, Amount Sales as Data
And I want to filter only the lastest year month in the database.
Can we do this without going to database and set the filter there ?

A running total depending on the ID, Year and Month. Although I showed this for two steps I need to get it from one query.
Question is - To get a running total based on ID, Year, Month. If I do the normal group by and sum query I could get it for all the months for each id. But need to then add January value to February and updated February value.
I made one report in SSRS 2008 in which getting data from one SharePoint List.

I am using query which I created with CAML.
query is running well and data is coming correctly if I run this on Query designer.and date format must be YYYY-MM-DD.but when I try to run through on run time then the date control is showing format dd/mm/yyyy.
I change the regional settings of windows and SharePoint site to English(United States). and when I select date control it is also putting date in format like "YYYY-MM-DD'. and in that format report is working well in Query designer view.But on run time still it is not working.
I have a column bar chart that displays counts based on category (month-Year). I have used an expression to sort the category data also.

I have to color format the bars in set of 4 colors. I have used SWITCH statements for other charts and it worked. But here in this case since it is a date field, I am getting error.
I have an SSRS report I'm working on. I have Row Groups plus details.
A) How can I get the row group headers to repeat on every line?
B) I would still like to use the drill down, click the plus sign, and have that work when I export to excel.
Here is the report header: URL....My first thought was is there a way simply to cause the header to repeat. I cannot find that anywhere to do that.My second though was to split the cells and copy the fields to all the rows.Here is the same header with split cells:URL....two problems.
A) I cannot split one cell; See the "X" in the second capture.
B) How do I still hid the rows until I drill down.
I am writing a usage query, I need to determine what the current month and year is. If the current month is 1, then I need Year-1. I keep getting this error Line 5: Incorrect syntax near '='.
If I comment out the case statement just evaluate the (YEAR(User_Date) = YEAR(DATEADD(yy, - 1, GETDATE())))or (YEAR(User_Date) = YEAR(GETDATE())) by itself, the query works. What I am missing? I am using SSRS 2012 RC0 in Visual Studio 2010 sp1 to build this tabular report. I had inadvertently removed the initial header row from my tablix before adding numerous nested groupings to move the column headers to the header section so they would show up on each page.
I would like to reverse that decision, but I seem to be unable to now re-add that header row back to my tablix. In older versions of SSRS, I was able to right click on the table and then click on insert row-->Header row but that does not seem to be possible in ssrs 2012.. I tried adding a outer row to my top most grouping, but that option was grayed out.
How I can add my header row back to my table.
I need a report that shows calcul of a field for current year as well as previous year respecting this rule expression(Last-Last Previous)/Last Previous*100 (I work with MDX Query and i work with SSRS 2008).
Also the report runs on a Year Parameter. Below is an example for the result for example i selected the years 2010 2011 2012 i can select another years because i have the report runs on a Year Parameter

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have three web form controls, a ddl that contains the day, another ddl that contains the month and a textbox that contains the current year. To send the date chosen by the user to the database, I join the three web form control values so that the resultant string is ‘day/month/year’ thus:
CmdInsert.Parameters("@Date").Value = day.SelectedItem.Value + "/" + month.SelectedItem.Value + "/" + year.Text()
And the resultant string is: dd/mm/yyyy, for example 30/08/2004.
But the problem is if the user does not select any day or any day and month, then the resultant string is for example; 00/08/2004 or 00/00/2004, but the problem is the database does not accept this format as datetime. How can I do it?
I want the user has the possibility to chose as well only the month and year, and as well only the year. Is it possible to send to the database the datetime format with only the month and year, or only the year?

I has developed one report in SSRS in SSRS 2008 R2 and when I preview the report in report viewer in all pages Report Header is repeating, whereas when I export the same report to PDF strange for some pages header is missing.
When I searched in google for SSRS 2008 Microsoft agreed that it is a bug and they provided the hotfix. And this hotfix is not working for SSRS 2008 R2 as it is a higher edition but still I facing the same issue.
Does anyone know of a way to use a funtion for returning records based on fiscal reporting periods like Quickbooks uses for example "This Month", "Last Month", "This Quarter", "Last Quarter", "This Year", "Last Year". While I realize that I can create a very long date time parsing routine for this but it is not very elegant or useful.
