Reporting Services :: Subtotal By Group That Is Not Distinct In Data

Table here shows partial data extract in order I want to see the report. I need to report:
part-a full, 8 layer, 7 layer, 6 layer....
Part-b full, 8 layer, 7 layer, 6 layer....
part-a full, 8 layer, 7 layer, 6 layer....

if I group by part number, I get a total. I need a 'sub-total' by part as each group is produced.
Report should be:
Part FULL 8layer 7layer 6layer 5layer
4layer.....

I have several row groups in a tablix. I want to keep header visible through scrolling.and i also want the first row group to visible, only the first.
So I set the first row group's properties fixedData to TRUE and keep other row groups to FALSE then when running the report i got error "FixedData is not allowed in row TablixMember,unless it is also set on the first row TablixMember"
Now I think this is not possible. or is there anyway to make it works?

I have an SSRS 2012 table report with groups; each group is broken ie. one group for one page, and there are multiple groups in multiple pages.
'GroupName' column has multiple values - X,Y,Z,......
I need to group 'GroupName' with X,Y,Z,..... ie value X in page 1,value Y in page 2, value Z in page 3...
Now, I need to display another column (ABC) in this table report (outside the group column 'GroupName'); this outside column itself is another column header (not a group header) in the table (report) and it derives its name partly from the 'GroupName' values:
Example:
Value X for GroupName in page 1 will mean, in page 1, column Name of ABC column must be ABC-X Value Y for GroupName in page 2 will mean, in page 2, column Name of ABC column must be ABC-Y Value Z for GroupName in page 3 will mean, in page 3, column Name of
ABC column must be ABC-Z
ie the column name of ABC (Clm ABC) must be dynamic as per the GroupName values (X,Y,Z....)

I have been able to use First(ReportItems!GroupName.Value) in the Page Header to get GroupNames displayed in each page; I get X in page 1, Y in page 2, Z in page 3.....
However, when I use ReportItems (that refers to a group name) in the Report Body outside the group,
I get the following error:
Report item expressions can only refer to other report items within the same grouping scope or a containing grouping scope
I need to get the X, Y, Z ... in each page for the column ABC.
I have been able to use this - First(Fields!GroupName.Value); however, I get ABC-X, ABC-X, ABC-X in each of the pages for the ABC column, instead of ABC-X in page 1, ABC-Y in page 2, ABC-Z in page 3, ...

I have a table in which records are inserted daily and with them i am storing the dates also. Now in SSRS i need to show the data for one week . The format should be like :

I've got an SSRS 2008 report with 4 nested groups on rows. Report requirements are that each new group at each level have a subtotal. I've gotten this to work just fine. After the users saw the report, they had a new request - if the SubTotal has only 1 row to Subtotal, do not display the Subtotal. If there are 2 or more rows, display the Subtotal line.I know I can go to the Grouping Properties, and on the Visibility properties select the "Show or hide based on the expression" - I am struggling with the experssion. How can I check to see if there are more than one row at this group level? The query is SQL with 2 sub selects, and 7 tables in various join clauses.

I have an SSRS report with groups that when exported to excel contains drill-in's (plus marks on left side). The issue I have is that for all the groups in the drill-in, those cells become merged. I want to keep the group drill-in but have the cells UNMERGED. I have heard this can be done with the RDL XML but I don't know what to modify to accomplish this.

I want to select distinct views to a registrantid record ( the first ones) in one year. if a registrant was viewed 10 tmes a year then it will show only first time it was viewed. If it was viewed 10 times by an employeed in 2 years then it will show first time it was viewed. if it was viewed by 2 employees of same company 10 times in one year then it first time viewed record will be shown. if it was seen 10 times by 2 employees of two different companies in one year then first record of two companies will be shown. do i need to use group by or what ?

Is there a way in Reporting Services to filter based on a parameter, but get it to use distinct values?
Currently I have a dataset that is grouped on a Branch value and a Team value.
The end-user wants to be able to filter out data based on the branch values, however when I set it up to that field it comes back with:
Branch 1
Branch 1
Branch 1
Branch 2
Branch 2
Branch 3
Branch 3
and the same goes with Team, which is a sub-group of branch. Is there any way I could set this up so that the parameter drop-down will only display distinct values? Also, is it possible to do the same with another parameter based upon the branch parameter.
Ex.
Branch 1 contains Team 01, Team 02, and Team 03
Branch 2 contains Team 04, Team 05
User selects to filter by Branch 1, the Team dropdown should only contain options for further filtering on Team 01, Team 02, and Team 03 not all of them.
Any help is much appreciated.

I am using SSRS 2005 to develop this OLAP report. I have the "Distinct Count" as a measure and some dimensions in the OLAP cube. I assigned one of the dimension to the "row" grouping and use the wizard to add the "subtotal" to that row level dimension. However it adds up individually the "Distinct Count" values from that row level dimension instead of the "True Distinct Count" of all attributes of that dimension combined. In my report there are "column" groupings so that by creating another dataset just to calculate the distinct count seperately in the report will not work unless there is a way to link this dataset to the column grouping of the first dataset. Also I don't want to create this dataset as I need to pull in the individual "id" field in the dimension in order to do the "Distinct Count" in the report and it is slowing down the performance. By using this query, I am getting a dataset which includes all the columns of sharepoint list. Among these columns, I wanted to display only 2 columns (i.e Region and Sales type) using chart. I have created a Region parameter but when I click preview, the drop down box is giving me all the repeatative values of region like
RG1,RG1,RG1,RG2,RG2,RG2,RG2,RG3..........
I wanted to display only distinct values of Region parameter so that whenever end user select region from the parameter drop down, it will display the respective value of Sales type column.Also when I select only RG1 parameter, it is giving me a chart including the sales type of all the Regions. (it should display me only the sales type of RG1) How can I link these 2 columns so that they will display the values respectively.

Here is my sql code. I'm using a "union all" to merge Incidents and Service Requests into one table. This works fine when I don't use the "group by". When using "group by" to get the total number of tickets per "Area" it is giving me duplicates. So it is returning a distinct list of "Area" from both select statements.

I have an SSRS report with 2 Row Groups and 2 Column Groups. A total row appears before the detail when I run the report. I'm not sure why it appears or how to remove it.Generally, I'll click on a group, add a total row before or after, and then a line is inserted with "Total" labeled. That's not what is happening here, I see now total row, it just appears when previewed.

I have row group created here on Due Month & Sales Region & added total after Due Month. When a user clicks on particular amount I would like to send the Sales Region value to the new report as Parameter. So Instead of Total text , I would like to have all the sales regions concatenated and sent to the new report. writing an expression to get the report parameter? I want a sum of the rows I have but only the unique items, for example

I want the sum of this to be Client 1 + Client 2 + Client 3 + Client 4 which is $100. But if I just do a sum it adds up each row. I also have them grouped together, so when it's shown, I only seen one of each item, but a sum still grabs all the duplicates.How can I go about getting the unique sum

Using SQL 2000 Report Designer & Visual Studio 2003 and a report for MS CRM 3.0
I need to group by Year + Month, like now would be "2008 02". Am using the FilteredOpportunity.estimatedclosedate.
I have tried using YEAR(FilteredOpportunity.estimatedclosedate)+MONTH( FilteredOpportunity.estimatedclosedate), but does not work. Also YEAR( FilteredOpportunity.estimatedclosedate.Value). I don't store "2008 02" type data in the CRM.
Any ideas?

How could one do this? I understand you could use the COUNT() function, but I'm not sure which object's visibility would best support this. All that I've tried (subtotal area, group visibility) do not seem to work.
If you change the visible property on the subtotal textbox that RS adds, it will only 'blank out' the area where the subtotal row would have been - this doesn't achieve the desired effect of saving space.

Hello Friends,
I have created a report using SSRS and in that report I am using group rows in one of the matrix. When I tried to display the subtotal of that group row by using the SSRS in-built feature the subtotal column is coming at the last of the matrix columns but the subtotal its showing is wrong . Its just giving the value of the first columns value.
Can anyone help me on this issue.

but i always the same error as :

But my sum is the table group footer.
I have no ideas how do that sum.

I am trying to build a report using SSRS.I need to retrieve a distinct value from my initial query and place this in the header or group row.The detail lines are hidden but may be expanded(shown).I then have another group row in which I require the sum of all distinct values from my previous group row.To explain pictorially I have the following:
-Scroll right to see the pink squares.Note that the total in the pink square is the sum of the individual var3 values distinct so 10 even when var3 =4 in euro currency.
-I have tried using sum(var5) but this will give the incorrect value as it sums all detail lines not just the distinct values.
-I have tried using another dataset but when referenced the grouping behaviour expected is non existent so where I expect 40 I get 80 i.e. sum disregarding values of var1 and var2 although these are the grouping variables.
-I need it to be dynamic so I am unable to use IIF(...).
If I could get var4 or var6 to be the totals I require I could work with that.I have also tried the following custom code:

Below are screenshots from my report
When a user clicks on a amount it should pass the sales regions , so that the a new detailed report opens up. Sales regions are passed when the report is in expanded view like on the right. But when its collapsed it just passes only the top most value and not all the sales region to the detailed report.
I've set this value as parameter to the detailed report
=Fields!SalesRegion.Value
How do I change this so that all the sales regions from the selected row group are passed when collapsed? I've uploaded the image in case the page does not show up.

I have a table with a row group "Sales Area" that lists customers per sales area. There is one column with the sales per customer and another column with the planned sales per customer.A third column "Under Plan" is a simple calculation that compares the two Report Items of the sales to the plan and puts a 1 there if plan is higher. My issue is how to get the total of the group "Sales Area", to display the group total of all customers that are under plan. SSRS doesn't let me use aggregate functions on group totals;Unfortunately I cannot pre-calculate the "Under Plan" figure in the query, since this example is a simplified overview (the customers is a distinct count for example...)
