Reporting Services :: Unable To Pass Parameters Dynamically In SSRS 2012

I am creating simple report in ssrs and pass one parameter only. It will work perfectly (here user enter the parameter value). but i need that i should select the value in drop down box. i had tried many time and did different ways but I am unable to do it.
First i gave the parameter in my sql query in Data set (like WHERE COUNTRY = @COUNTRY) and i checked the Parameters tab in the data set. Here by default comes the Parameter Name: COUNTRY and Parameter value: [@COUNTRY].
Next i select COUNTRY Parameter in the Report Data Pane. and go to properties Here in General Tab: Name COUNTRY Prompt: COUNTRY, Select Get values from query in available values Tab (and also i tried with Select Get values from query in Default Value Tab) and Select Data set: Data Set1, Value field: COUNTRY and Label Field COUNTRY. And Click Ok
And tried to preview the report, it throwing below error
"An error Occured during local report processing. The definition of the report is invalid. The Report Parameter 'COUNTRY' has a DefaultValue or a ValidValue that depends on the report parameter "COUNTRY". Forward dependencies are not valid.
How can I achieve dropdown list.What i missed? Even i unable to do it Multi valued parameters and Cascading parameters.
Actually i am working on SQL Express 2012 version.

I have SSRS report that has around 80+ columns. I have requirement where in dynamically hideshow columns in report based on user selection. I could able to do it by setting expression for "Visiblity" property and having report parameter thro' which columns to display can be choosen.
My problem is 2 points
1. fox example if columns 2 and 4 to be hidden, then there is an empty column between 1 and 3 and 5 columns. How to avoid this
2. When i export to PDF / Excel these spaces prevail.

I have developed some Reports using Reporting Services and I want to deploy them for access over the Internet.
These Reports allow the Users to specify parameters, such as Start and End Dates.
I am told that a User Interface has to be developed manually to provide this facility for some kind of security reason.
This seems very bizarre and the reason doesn€™t make much sense.
Is this really true ?

We have an SSrS report that has a tablix cell with a textbox that is a hyperlink to another SSrS report. We pass parameters to the report using the textbox properties>Action set to "Go to report" and setting the parameters to the value of a field and a parameter as shown below. We want to set action to "Go to URL" and to pass these variable parameter values in the URL. How is that done? Hello,
I have a stored procedure that on two fields it allows null. On the report, I have two DropDownList boxes that are populated with data, however, I would like the user to be able to have the option of not selecting an item from these list, thus passing null to the stored procedure.
When I goto "Report | Report Parameters" I have set these fields to "allow null" and "allow blank" and at the bottom I also gave it the default value of null.
When I run the report in preview mode, those two dropdownlist have a <Select a Value> and my assumption is since I want them to pass null, I will just leave them that way. However, when the report is ran, I receive an error saying "Please select a value for the parameter: (my parameter)". So it forces me to select an option at which I don't want to do.
How can I set this to pass a null?

I have a requirement to display the count of project data by their status (On Hold, In Progress, Pre-concept and Closed) for the current FY and Last FY based on column 'Financial Year' and 'Project Status'.Â
Financial Year column has a value in the following format (FY2011-12, FY2012-13, FY2013-14,FY2014-15, FY2015-16,FY2019-20 ,FY2020-21,FY2021-22)

Is it possible to use a parameter in a ldap query using the ADsDSOObject provider? I keep getting an error "The ICommandWithParameters interface is not supported by the "ADSDSOObject" provider". Command parameters are unsupported with the current provider.
I don't have a linked server on my DB server to Active Directory so I'm just querying in the SSRS report design. Here is my query for my dataset. If I hard code an example it works. Just doesn't work when I pass a parameter. I've tried making it an expression (= sign), Tried several syntax's, Tried everything I can think of. Is this possible? or do I just need to push for a linked server?

My request is to calculate total capacity of all available Virtual CPUs, Memory and Storage from 4 separate clouds: Â 'cloud1','cloud2','cloud3','cloud4'
Whenever I select =Sum(Fields!VCPU.Value) expression in Report Properties and assign it to a variable and assign that variable to a Text Box field I get the value as VCPU * (Number of VMs) which is not correct.
I am looking to get the value of VCPU from all 4 clouds above.

when I try to open the SSRS in BIDS ( VS 2008), it is displaying the code portion alone. If i click 'View Designer', it prompts me like "....already opened. Do you want to close?" Only XML content of report is displaying. if I click 'Viee Code' then it displays error like "There is no editor available for 'c: eport Sample. rdl'.Make sure the application for the file type (.rdl) is installed."how to correct this issue by installing or by upgrading?

I am using SSRS 2008 with a SQL Server 2008 R2. It's been many years since i have used SSRS but i have used this and some other reporting tools in the past.I have created a cascading parameters where upon selecting 'ALL' or one of the other values in parameter A , the other values gets displayed in paramter B which is working in the Report builder. i am handling this in the dataset  query where i handle that through a case statement ( something like WHERE 1 = (CASE WHEN @Prm_A = 'ALL' THEN 1 END) OR  column_X= ( CASE WHEN  @Prm_A <>'ALL' THEN   @Prm_A END ).Also tried WHERE @Prm_A = 'ALL' OR column_X=  @Prm_A
This seems to work in the report builder on my machine or when i run it by editing the report on the web, but when i publish it on the report server, i don't see that behavior, meaning it does not cascade. I also tried to simplify it by making the query simple(WHERE column_X= Â @Prm_A ), Â but it still would not cascade on the web.Â

I am trying to open a pop up window in SSRS without any parameters (just need it to go to this report) and when I click on the link from the main report nothing happens. I have done countless numbers of these with passing parameters, just never without. Am I missing something painfully obvious?Â

I've had a SSL wildcard certificate successfully in use, unless it had to be replaced because of its age. Now I've imported a new certificate, but unfortunately I'm unable to set it up in the SSRS Configuration Manager Console (Web Service URL / Report Manager URL), because "We were unable to create the certificate binding".Â

i have problem generating the SSRS Reports.Â
i have Report URL Â with 2 parameters-- @StartDate and @EndDate
when i hard coded the values and copy the URL in IE, Report gets generated
sample URL's:

but when i use Parameters--Report is not getting generated.

Below is the error;

I have what seems to be a common problem where I have names like "Last, First" that I need to be able to select using a multi-value parameter, which of course, SSRS passes as comma-delimited and gets messed up. I need to find a way to use a different delimiter or pass CHAR(44) instead of the comma, or something. Even worse, some people have suffixes and multiple commas in one name!  Â

I created a view that i want to use in ssrs.In the view there is a column for running balance.In the table contain transaction of inventory with their quantity.

If i run the query on sql or use the view on ssr. The end qty is  not showing accurately.I ran it on another database it works perfectly. Then i noticed that the dex_row_ID of the second database is sequential as the date. But for the initial database it was not sequential as with the date.

Software Details:
Datawarehouse Database - SQL Server 2008 R2
Reporting Services Version - SSRS 2008 R2
Development Environment - Visual Studio 2008
Problem Details:
I have been writing reports based of a Relational Datamart with dimensions and facts. The report in question uses dimensions for parameters and facts for content. Multi valued parameters are enabled in the report query by using the 'IN(@Paramenter)' statement within the report query. It has a total of 6 multi-value parameters. I assign the same available values from dimension datasets for each parameter to it's default parameter. Theoretically all the values in the option lists should be selected after first render. This is not always the case.
Example:
SELECT *
FROM dbo.MyTable
WHERE
TableColumn0 IN (@Parameter0)
AND
TableColumn1 IN(@Parameter1)
AND ....N (continue syntax to 6 multi valued parameters)

Some of the multi-value drop down lists are defaulting to have every value selected, and some are not. The problem is I need to know why some parameters are not selecting all by default when specified.

I have a third party app that passes parameters (main dataset query) from the app to SSRS. Â Unfortunately, when the parameters are passed from the app they will contain equal signs ("=") in front of each parameter. Â For example, the parameters that may be passed to the main dataset query should be:
"HYDRO, OKO, ONEPL, TECHNI"
However, the parameters that are passed from the app, get to SSRS as:
"=HYDRO, =OKO, =ONEPL, =TECHNI"
Again, this is for the main dataset query and there may be one parameter or there may be any number of them.
Basically, I need to strip the "=" signs from the parameters. whether there is one parameter or ten.
I believe that I will need a custom function to strip the equal signs?

I am building a webapp that calls an SSRS instance to display a report based on another servers web service.I can make a call from the ssrs server using this in the RDL:

This works no problem. but.. I want to have the user parameter "Craig" be a parameter passed in from the web app. If it were a regular SQL data source you would put @user in the query. How do you do it with XML text queries?

I have a detailed report in ssrs in which data can come from start date and end date parameters.but the problem is. for example i gave startdate as 01/01/2015 and end date as 09/31/2015 then the data must be in displayed in such a way that jan month in one tab and feb month data in one tab and so on to sep month data in new tab when i export to Excel.
