How To Disable Autmatic Round Of Of A Decimal Number In Sql Server Using Asp.net?

Jan 12, 2008

Hi all,
I am sorry if i am posting this error in an inappropriate froum.
Well in my asp.net intranet web application i want to enter a number to the database(sql sever 2005) that has a column(schoolkm) whose type is decimal(9, 2). Now if i want to enter the value 1.5 in the text box and enter that value to the database through interface then that value automatically rounds to 2. But when i get into the table and enter that value by hand then that value enters perfectly i.e. without rounding of. I want to know the reason and how can i cure this problem.
Regards & thanks in advance

T-SQL ROUND(decimal, Int) Vs C# Round(Decimal, Int32)

Jan 30, 2006

Anybody noticed that SQL Server rounds up if the value is half waybetween two rounded values, but C#'s Decimal.Round(Decimal,Int32)rounds to nearest even number?>From MSDN: "When d is exactly halfway between two rounded values, theresult is the rounded value that has an even digit in the far rightdecimal position. For example, when rounded to two decimals, the value2.345 becomes 2.34 and the value 2.355 becomes 2.36. This process isknown as rounding toward even, or rounding to nearest."I perform the same calculation sometimes on the web server in C# andsometimes at the database in T-SQL, but want to get the same resultfrom both calculations. Could anybody offer any strategies for dealingwith this? Thanks ~ Matt

Apr 28, 2008

Hello,

My Round function used in the design screen of a report (of SQL Server Reporting Services) produces this result, as for example: Round(1.50) gives 1 instead of 2.
Does anybody know how to set up the round function in order to get the superior value ? round(1,5) should give 2 !

Thanks.

SSRS 2008 R2. I am writing a report that uses a DB4 database. Because of this many SQL commands that I normally use are not available and I don't know what commands I can use. Because of this I am doing much of my calculations inside of SSRS.

For example:
8:12 becomes 8:15
2:30 becomes 2:30
1:57 becomes 2:00
4:07 becomes 4:00

Reporting Services :: Can Remove Trailing 0s From Decimal Numbers?

Nov 2, 2015

I'm building an invoice report in visual studio for use with MS Dynamics CRM Online. The "quantity" field I reference from the database contains a decimal number with a precision of 2 (i.e - 0.25, 0.50, 0.75, 1.00) due to how I charge my clients as they can purchase 0.25 hours of support for example.

The problem is that I also sell other items that don't require a decimal place in the quantity field and "1 x website design" would look a lot better than "1.00 x website design".

format the quantity field on my report so that it will remove the 0's and the decimal place ONLY when all the numbers after the decimal place are 0. So, to clarify:

1.00 should become 10.25 should stay as 0.250.50 should stay as 0.50 instead of it changing to 0.5 (I can live with 0.5 if 0.50 is a deal breaker.)

Reporting Services :: Compare Numbers (like Software Versions With Different Length And More Than 1 Decimal)?

Jul 7, 2015

I'm trying to change the background color in a field based on its number value being greater than another number value in an adjacent field. The issue I am having is the format, it's like a software version string or IP address (in this case, it is A/V Signature Versions) where the length of the numbers between the decimal places can be different, and that seems to throw off the comparison.

For example (these are actual values I am comparing);

1.201.1054.0 should evaluate as greater than 1.201.2.0 but when compared, evaluates as FALSE.

I tried putting ##-##-## in the Format cell in the properties of the textbox (which I thought worked before) but it's not doing the trick. What am I doing wrong here?

Dynamic Document Map will not work, as it cant get the page number.

I understand that there is no buildin feature which support this, but there should be some work around in SSRS or when export to PDF.

Reporting Services :: Report - Change Number Of Rows Per Page

May 29, 2008

I am fairly new to reporting services and recently created a simple tabular report. There is one table which queries the database and I would like to change the table so there are more than 25 rows of data per page. How do I do this? Also it would be advantageous to know how to set the report to only create a new page for every different item in a column. E.g., if I have various data for each date, I would like to only create a new page when the date changes so that all data for a specific date is on one page etc etc.
