I need to insert a sparkline based on values in columns. I cannot insert a image - seems my account must be verified (whatever that means).Basically what I need is a sparkline that is created based on columns for each row. View 12 RepliesI have a table in which I have to use SSRS Sparklines. But the requirement is that, I have to lookup the Y axis values and Category groups from another dataset, using a unique identifier in both the datasets. Lets say DS1 is the parent dataset and DS2 has got the Y values and Category (12 months) for the Sparkline.I cannot use DS2 as Default dataset for the table, because it will result in writing lookup expressions for around 20-25 cells other than Sparkline cell.So I used the below expressions for Sparkline.
Value axis :
=lookupset(Fields!RowID.Value,Fields!RowID.Value,Fields!Trend.Value,"DS2")
Category axis :
=lookupset(Fields!RowID.Value,Fields!RowID.Value,Fields!MonthName.Value,"DS2")
I used lookup set, because I believe we have to map a set of values to the Sparkline chart. But it throws me the below error. Is it possible to configure a Sparkline without Category axis? I asked because I can manage my chart if SParkline can plot the trend values alone, without a category axis also.
Is there any option to have interlaced strip lines in SSRS Sparklines as shown in the image? The image shown in created in SSRS 2005 using Dundas Charts. I would like to create this microchart in SSRS 2012.

I have a parameter "time frame" which contains two value- 6 months ,12 months an 18 months which shows data of 6 months , 12 months and 18 months.
In my ssrs report i have 18 columns :
jan|feb|mar|apr|may|jun|july|aug|sep|oct|nov|dec|jan|feb|mar|apr|my|jun
The first six months will be displayed in each case.
But when i choose 6 months i just want to display first six months only.when i choose 12 months i want to be displayed first 12 months columns only and for 18 months all the columns,.
Running SQL Server 2005, trying to develop an SSRS report to basically pivot a table of data with multiple columns.
Here's the basic source table:
Day Cases Referrals Vends
1 291 0 0
2 293 1 0
3 293 1 1
And I want to display it as:
Day 1 2 3
Cases 291 293 293
Referrals 0 1 1
Vends 0 0 1
I thought I could use a matrix for this but I can't seem to get it worked out. Is this even possible?
The Day number is meant to represent the day of the month and the user would input a start and ending date parameter.

I like to use Rreporting Services,But is possible to call from visual basic 6.0 the designeds reports ?

I have an MDX query - that works fine in SQL Enterprise Manager, and has my dimension members on columns, and my measures on the rows. When I try the same query in Reporting Services, I get the error:
"The query cannot be prepared: The query must have at least one axis. The first axis of the query should not have multiple hierarchies, nor should it reference any dimension other than the Measures dimension..
Parameter name: mdx (MDXQueryGenerator)"
Although it works when you pivot the view, I really need my data presented with the members on the columns and the measures on the rows. Another forum post mentioned using the SQL 9.0 driver, but I can't see this listed anywhere (the only one I see is the .NET framework Data Provider for Microsoft Analysis Services).
Here's what my query looks like -

I am in the process of creating a Report, and in this, i need ONLY the row groups (Parents and Child).I have a Parent group field called "Dept", and its corresponding field is MacID.I cannot create a child group or Column group (because that's not what i want).I am then inserting rows below MacID, and then i toggle the other rows to MacID and MacID to Dept.

I have a report like the above, I want to, for example to find the total of all stores, i.e
(8+10+14+4+2 =38),
then use column #SALONS AUDITED to calculate the last total, e.g.
%AUDITED dean : 4/38
= 10.53%; lani : 5/38 = 13.16%; vette : 7/38 = 18.42%, etc

If I have some mdx I'm using in reporting services like this:

The column names are unique to the day of month- which means when I use a table to display this in reporting services, the field names change dynamically when the date parameters change which means the table stops working.
I'll post this in reporting services too but I thought maybe I could alias the column names in mdx shielding the reporting services table from changes in dates.
What do you think? Would a matrix be more flexible in this case?

I already have a row visibility on the details group which is toggled by the Sum(Case_Load) Text box.
What I would now like to do is some columns to the right where the field is part of the details group but the column is only visible when it is toggled by the Sum(Case_Load) Text box.
I keep getting the message that "Toggle items must be text boxes that share the same scope as the hidden item or are in a scope that contains the hidden item, and cannot be contained within the current report item unless current grouping scope has a Parent"

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have tried to freeze the leftmost column of my report , by seetting the fixedheader proeprty to 'TRUE' For that column. The columns gets frozen. I also set the background color of that column to 'WHITE' Color. However, when I try to scroll left or right, the next columns seem to overlap to the first column...

i created a layout in visual studio 2005 with the proper dimensions to print on an Avery 5160 label sheet (3 labels across and 10 down)
in the Body properties, i set Columns to 3, ColumnSpacing to 0.125", and Size 2.625" (W) & 1" (H).
i created a list table with a text box of the same dimension as the Size in the Body.
the thing is when i go to preview the report in visual studio, it just shows all the data but only in one column, but if i click the Print Layout button, it shows all 3 columns, then when i print it, it works! so i assumed that this was just the way visual studio handled the data. no big deal...
the problem is when i upload this to the reporting services on our local intranet and run it from the reporting services, it shows only one column (the left most only) and prints that way too; it's almost like i need a Print Layout button on the reporting services (which there isn't one).
is there something that i need to set so that it will print in 3-column form from the reporting services so people can print on label sheets?
i hope this makes sense. also, i tested this on the same printer just to make sure it wasn't hardware.
I am trying to use SSRS to allow users to select any one or several columns from a set of cascading parameters which will then do a "data dump" of the contents of the selected columns for "export".I know how to do cascading parameters, but I am having problems coming up with a way of using the parameters to dynamically build a matrix which has as its columns the list selected in the parameters. I need the user to choose WHICH columns will be displayed. There could be 1, 2, 3, up to 50 columns.

Also need to remove the "/"'s. This is all dependent on where a "/" is found. Been beating my head for a while and getting nowhere.

Can we build a report like the one shown above . Basically the columns will be on vertical columns and values of the columns will be next to it ? I know there is matirx control but it is for multiple columns .
In business objects we have separate control for this but in ssrs we have 1 table control and another matrix control. I think i need to modify matrix control to achieve it...
I have SSRS report that has around 80+ columns. I have requirement where in dynamically hideshow columns in report based on user selection. I could able to do it by setting expression for "Visiblity" property and having report parameter thro' which columns to display can be choosen.
My problem is 2 points
1. fox example if columns 2 and 4 to be hidden, then there is an empty column between 1 and 3 and 5 columns. How to avoid this
2. When i export to PDF / Excel these spaces prevail.
