SQL Reporting - An Internal Error Occurred On The Report Server. See The Error Log For More Details. (rsInternalError)

Feb 6, 2006

I have created an RDL file programatically. When I execute the code I get the error as mentioned below:

Error: Sub report cannot be shown.
An internal error occurred on the report server. See the error log for more details. (rsInternalError)

When I copy and paste the code of RDL file into new RDL file and try to preview the output I get correct result.
Note: The new RDL file does not give any error if the output is seen using preview tab but it gives the error only when executed from report viewer or from internet explorer.

Any Suggestion/feedback is highly appreciated.
Thank You.

Reporting Error

Feb 28, 2007

Hi,

How i can hide the "error: Subreport could not be shown" message when record set returns null.

In debug window actual error is :

[rsRuntimeErrorInExpression] The Value expression for the textbox €˜textbox6€™ contains an error: The query returned no rows for the data set. The expression therefore evaluates to null.

Many thanks

Error Reporting From SP To .NET Code, How??

Apr 16, 2007

HeyASP.NET 2.0 + MS Sql Server 2005 Express (that version which comes with VS2005)This code below fails. The Delete method executes a stored procedure, but somehow this SP fails. The SP shown here is a short version of the actual SP. As you see from the code below, there are no way the Delete method can know if SP executed successfully. I assume I just could have returned @@error, but that just gives an error number, and not the description of the error??.. And how should I capture exceptions like these??  How should code this SP so it report the error??Any suggestions??public override void Delete(System.Guid id, int user){    using (SqlConnection cn = new SqlConnection(this.ConnectionString))    {       SqlCommand cmd = new SqlCommand("SendMessage", cn);       cmd.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure;       cmd.Parameters.Add("@id", SqlDbType.UniqueIdentifier).Value = id;       cmd.Parameters.Add("@user", SqlDbType.Int).Value = user;    }}
ALTER PROCEDURE dbo.DeleteMessage @id uniqueidentifier, @user intASBEGIN UPDATE table_A set column_A = 1 WHERE Id = @id; DELETE FROM table_B WHERE Id = @id; IF (@@error = 0)  COMMIT TRAN; ELSE  ROLLBACK TRAN;END

!!!! Reporting Services Error !!!!

Dec 27, 2004

I have installed SQL Server Reporting Services and I recieve the following error when I attempt to call the reportserver from the URL.

"Server Application Unavailable
The web application you are attempting to access on this web server is currently unavailable. Please hit the 'Refresh' button in your web browser to retry your request.

Administrator Note: An error message detailing the cause of this specific request failure can be found in the application event log of the web server. Please review this log entry to discover what caused this error to occur. "

In the event log, the following error is recorded..."

"aspnet_wp.exe could not be started. The error code for the failure is 80004005. This error can be caused when the worker process account has insufficient rights to read the .NET Framework files. Please ensure that the .NET Framework is correctly installed and that the ACLs on the installation directory allow access to the configured account. "

I have ran "aspnet_regiis -i" after installing reporting services...
I have validated that ASPNET has the correct permissions...
I have validated that ASPNET user account has not been lockedout...
I have restarted the Report Server service...
I have restarted the IIS service...
I even have restarted the server...

Does anyone have any other ideas that may help! Thank you in advance.

Error Reporting Customization

Feb 5, 2008

Hi all,
I was wandering if it is possible to customize the error messages in SQL Server 2005. I mean that I want to display some different infomation than those displayed when someone tries to enter a data that doesn't respect a rule in a table (for example a number instead of a string).
Is it possible?

Thanks million

Reporting Services Db Error

Mar 14, 2008

I am trying to configure a Report Server for my Reporting Services database. They are located on two different machines. I have two different error message which are essentially the same thing. First, under Database Setup when Verifying Database Version I have the message "The database version (C.0.8.54) does not match your Reporting Services installation. This version of the database cannot be upgraded. You must use a different database.

Second, when clicking on the Initialization link I receive "There was an error while switching panels. The most likely cause is an error retrieving WMI properties. The exception details are: The version of the report server database is either in a format that is not valid, or cannot be read. The found version is 'C.0.8.54'. The expected version is 'C.0.8.40'. To continue, update the version of the report server database and verify access rights. (rsInvalidReportServerDatabase)

Is is possible to have the Reporting services and Report Server on two separate machines? I thought at first that the reason we are having a problem is that the reporting services server is 32 bit and the report server is 64 bit but even when I try to connect to a 32 bit db server I receive the same error.

Thanks.

SQL Reporting Services Error

Jul 13, 2007

Hi there,

I am using Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services to generate the business reports. For my project I need to create one report. For this, at first I have created the

stored procedure ( we have to pass the values for the parameters in Stored Procedure ) and calling the stored procedure from the reporting services. I have given a name for

the dataset and retrieved the result set on executing ( by clicking on the '!' icon on the toolbar ). I have added the required parameters in the parameter tab section of the

dataset. I have refreshed ( by clicking on the refresh icon on the tool bar) to pop up the database fields from the select query of the stored procedure. This is where I am

encountering the problem ie When I refresh the dataset, the fields are not generated for the dataset automatically and whatever the parameters I have given in the parameter

tab section of the dataset are missing. This has been bugging me for past 2 days. Could anyone please provide me the possible solution ASAP.

Thanks in Advance,

Reporting Services Installation Error

Apr 16, 2004

I've just tried to install SQL Reporting services on my development workstation.

I was going well but suddenly I got an error that my SQL server instance is not supported.
I am running SQL Server 2000 desktop edition, service pack 3.0.

Is that true that is is not supported or it is just a bug in installation ?

Thanks

Reporting Services :: Divide By Zero Error

Apr 15, 2015

I have SSRS 2012 and have a report with an expression shown below.  I am getting an error of

"[rsRuntimeErrorInExpression] The Value expression for the textrun ‘Textbox133.Paragraphs[0].TextRuns[0]’ contains an error: Attempted to divide by zero."

Textbox 133 has an expression as shown below and I cannot figure out why I get the error because I thought the IIF would bypass divide by zero.

=IIF(Sum(Fields!PriorQty.Value) = 0.0, 1,(Sum(Fields!CurrentQty.Value) - Sum(Fields!PriorQty.Value)) / Sum(Fields!PriorQty.Value))
