How Do I Retrieve Table Properties In MS SQL Server 2000
Nov 29, 2004I have looked on google and haven't found a query (as of yet) to perform this function.
Essentially I am using VB.NET with Excel and have a mapping between a worksheet and a table in my database. I wrote an import function to pull the data out of excel and put it into SQL Server but I want to try catching errors before i do that.
What is the SQL query to get column sizes from a table. Meaning in a table I have column1 that is allowed a size of int(5). How do i retrieve that information from a query opposed to just looking at it in SQL Server EM??

The one limitation to remember is that it won't work with files on mapped drives; you have to use the full \<Server><Share><Folder1..Folder n><Filename> syntax. I'm trying to create a query against Tab1 so that it retrieves a recordset of Subcodes and definitions based on the contents of the Subcodes field for a record in Tab2. I've tried this using a subquery, as follows:

ASPNETDB Deploy With Users/Roles Security
Apr 10, 2007I have developed a site on my local machine utilizing the built-in security/roles provides by ASP.NET 2.0. I am trying to publish the web application to a production server. It will publish correctly, however the ASPNETDB is not recognized. The folder app_data is created with the proper database files. My question is how do I set this up to use the data I have created in this database? I've searched on how to accomplish this but haven't found any definitive answers. I have found ScottGu's blog to be useful, but I was wondering if there is a different way.
1 - Do I push the data to a SQL Server install via SQL scripts?
2 - Can I link to the ASPNETDB that is created locally on my machine?
3 - If I make changes to the application and re-publish, is there a way to keep from overwriting the ASPNETDB on the server?
I am a unsure of how the built-in roles/security works when you are ready to push something to production. If someone wouldn't mind pointing me in the right direction, it would greatly be appreciated. Any literature, advice, links, etc.. would be great.

Looking For Direction On How To Add 4000+ Users Into ASPNETDB Manually

I would like to know if it's possible to add around 4000 users into the ASPNETDB without adding them one at a time. I have to avoid using a "create user wizard" because this login is for a private online election only. The list of users is in an access database and looks like this:

Unfortunately, I don't have valid emails for all 4000 people, nor do I have the time and resources to collect security questions and answers so I don't know if this is even possible. Can you help me?

Multiple Users Of A Website Using Aspnetdb.mdf Database

In the past I had many customers using the same website each with their own domain name and their own database. To accomplish that, I used MS Access and placed each customers database in separate directories. I steered the customer to the correct directory using their domain name. I am now trying to accomplish the same thing using aspnetdb.mdf and other .mdf database files. I am using the aspnetdb.mdf database for membership, etc. I want the aspnetdb.mdf database file to be unique for each customer. Does anyone know how to accomplish what I was doing with MS Access using aspnetdb.mdf? Is there any way to have multiple web.config files each of which would be dedicated to a particular customer?

Connecting Users From ASPNETDB.MDF To A Shopping Cart And Order History
Jan 2, 2007I'm trying to figure out how to associate users in my ASPNETDB.MDF to create a shopping cart.IE: I have 3 tables, for a list of existing orders, list of products, and list of specific orders.The idea is for users who've signed up with the built-in user creation control, can then place orders from the shopping cart, and view their existing previous orders. This would normally be done with a unique UserID # to associate orders with specific users, however I don't BELIEVE there's anything like UserID's associated with each user in the ASPNETDB.MDF, it just uses usernames as the unique identifiers right?Anyway I'm not sure I'm explaining what I'm trying to do perfectly and I apologize, but I don't think it's an un-common problem I'm having. Basically I'm trying to avoid having to have existing ASPNETDB users create a sort of SECOND user that would associate them into a seperate Customers table, it seems like extra user steps that shouldn't be necessary.

I need to filter out my data according to the dimension's properties' value
For example, if I have only single value parameters, I would do:

However, I have no idea how to handle it if Parameters!Country is a multi-valued parameter.

A current owner… who is the user or player of the game and has that Super Avatar– we associate the link to USERID to know the person.
SuperAvatars can be fathers or mothers of Mega Avatars.
-MegaAvatars are the children of SuperAvatars…. They also have an ID UNIQUE NUMBER NOT NULL PRIMARY KEY to indentify them.
A magic power – it can be a ‘Leader’ or ‘Sheep’…
A ‘parent’ – parent is the number identifying to know to who Super Avatar belongs.

What’s the problem?
We have to insert manually the data from USERID to CURRENTOWNER as we didn’t match or link CURRENTOWNER from SUPERAVATAR Table to USERID from USER Table with a SQL CODE.
What happen if we have thousands of USERS that they register to this game…? We will never know to how belongs that SUPERAVATAR but if someone do it manually can spend a year.
I am trying to fix this problem …. I add in SUPERAVATAR TABLE ‘CHECK’ in currentOwner..

The last number is the key it is the income.
In another table we have an income limit table setup that would have the low, medium and high settings for the range.
For instance it may have 11400 as the elimit attribute and say 22000 as the vlimit attribute.
Then in the fourth table we the description that can be linked back to the income limit table via the hinclimit attribute. In this case the desc attribute would be ELI for elimit and VLI for vlimit.
So I want to take the income compare it to the income limit table and then return the description
The output would look like this :
29226 128 20577 Almukhtar, Khadijah M 4242.00 eli
26574 128 17980 Archie, Mary 20218.00 vli
I just not sure how to reference the income limit table without the foreign key in the from statement. When I just add it it returns 6 rows for each person (number of rows on the income limit table)

Sep 20, 2007I am attempting to create a stored procedure that will launch at report runtime to summarize data in a table into a table that will reflect period data using an array type field. I know how to execute one line but I am not sure how to run the script so that it not only summarizes the data below but also creates and drops the table.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I want to get the first 2 columnns from the "dbo.Samples" table and the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th columnns from the "dbo.TestResults" table. I think I can create a new "dbo.Report" table with the 7 Columnn Names, and retrieve the data of SampleID and SampleName from the "dbo.Samples" table and put them into the "dbo.Report" table. But I do not know how to retrieve the data of Unit, Acetone, Benzene, Trichloroethene, and Xylenes from the "dbo.TestResults" table and put them into the "dob.Report" table formatted and presented in the above blue-colored table. The following is my T-SQL programming plan:
