I'm receiving the below error when trying to implement Execute SQL Task.
"The ROLLBACK TRANSACTION request has no corresponding BEGIN TRANSACTION." This error also happens on COMMIT as well and there is a preceding Execute SQL Task with BEGIN TRANSACTION tranname WITH MARK 'tran'
I know I can change the transaction option property from "supported" to "required" however I want to mark the transaction. I was copying the way Import/Export Wizard does it however I'm unable to figure out why it works and why mine doesn't work.
Anyone know of the reason?

I'm able to connect to the Oracle database to insert the data into multiple tables using OLEDB connection via Oracle Provider for OLEDB. However, i wish to create a transaction so that i'm able to rollback all the data in the case where the insertion fails in one of the table. May i know where should i start from?

I am trying to use sql transaction in foreach loop where I am passing 1 ID @ a time .I want to rollback only current ID.1st task in foreach is execute sql task with begin tran and next is data flow task with 2 source and destination for 2 different tables (if anyone fails then rollback from all tables). After data flow is another execute sql task with rollback tran on failure (logical condition on pipe is OR). The rollback works but only rollback 1 table although I want to rollback on current iteration ID of foreach from both tables.

Hi
Need a help for the below req.
I have a SP which calls another SP with in a Cursor. The main SP updated two of the DB tables. Based on the data passed from main SP the nested SP updates another two table.
What I want at the end of loop the transaction will be committed. In between if any point it fails means the whole transaction will be rollback.
I am using TRY & CATCH to handle transaction commit & Rollback . But I am getting below error
Error coming in SQL end is:
Transaction count after EXECUTE indicates that a COMMIT or ROLLBACK TRANSACTION statement is missing. Previous count = 1, current count = 0.
Please advise.

Hi,
I have a cursor that deletes records based on the values from another table.
I need to check if any error happens in the delete statement, then i need to roll back all the transactions and display the error message.
Else if there are no errors then i have to commit the tranactions.
How do i check for this and where do i put these conditions.. I need to apply this logic for other scripts too.
Please advise..
Thanks
Below is my query
=================================================
DECLARE Tempcursor1 CURSOR
FOR SELECT ID FROM SITE
DECLARE @ID uniqueidentifier
OPEN Tempcursor1
FETCH NEXT FROM Tempcursor1
INTO @ID
WHILE @@Fetch_Status = 0
BEGIN
DELETE FROM BaseTable
WHERE Id = @ID
DELETE FROM AddBASE
WHERE PARENTID = @ID
FETCH NEXT FROM Tempcursor1
INTO @ID
END
CLOSE Tempcursor1
DEALLOCATE Tempcursor1

I have a pretty simple SSIS package that fast loads a 100 million record table into a SQL Server 2008 table on a daily basis. This normally runs fine and completes in about 1 hour. As this is perhaps one of our largest running SSIS packages, about once every 2-3 weeks this SSIS will fail/drop connection. Once it fails, the large number of records will start rolling back. This rollback process can take 1+ hours so I cannot even restart the failed SSIS package immediately. This is a problem.
I am looking for a solution or option so I do not have to wait on that rollback to restart this particular, long running SSIS package. Is there an option/setting to leave the partial data set committed and not rollback? Then I could just restart the SSIS package immediately or set it the SSIS to auto-restart 1 time on failure. The first step in the SSIS does a truncate of the destination table.

When I write code for a multiple statements transaction do I need to check 'if @@ERROR > 0 ' after each SELECT, INSERT, DELETE or UPDATE statement so that the 'rollback tran' statement can be given, or SQL server will automatically rollback the transaction and we don't need to check for @ERROR > 0 ?

Hello:
I am implimenting the creation of sequence numbers .I use an insert proc on a table that generates the numbers using an identity field:
procedure usp_createidentity
begin transaction
insert into [tblOrderNumber] with default values
rollback ' done so no records in this table
select @OrderNumber = scope_identity()
I call this from another proc that inserts values into my order table:
procedure usp_Insert @OrderNumber int
as
SET XACT_ABORT ON;
BEGIN TRY
BEGIN TRANSACTION
EXEC usp_GetNewOrderNumber @OrderNumber = @OrderNumber output
INSERT INTO [dbo].[tblOrder] ([OrderNumber]) values (@orderNumber) ' inserts value from other stored proc
COMMIT TRANSACTION
END TRY
BEGIN CATCH
if (XACT_STATE() = -1)
ROLLBACK TRANSACTION
else
if (XACT_STATE() = 1)
COMMIT TRANSACTION
END CATCH
Here is the problem. When I run usp_Insert I get the following: Error 266 Transaction count after EXECUTE indicates that a COMMIT or ROLLBACK TRANSACTION statement is missing. Previous count = 1, current count = 0.
This refers to the usp_GetNewOrderNumber that is called inside the other proc as shown above.
The problem does not happen if I put each statement in usp_Insert in its own try/catch. transaction statements.
Maybe it has something to do with the rollback call in the usp_getneworder.
What do I need to do to get rid of this. problem and still run these within one try/catch trans statement set.
Thanks

I have a SSIS package that reads data from a dump table, runs a custom script that takes date data and converts it to the correct format or nulls and formats amt fields to currency, then inserts it to a new table. The new table redirects insert errors. This process worked fine until about 3 weeks ago. I am processing just under 6 million rows, with 460,000 or so insert errors that did give error column and code.
Now, I am getting 1.5 million errors. and nothing has changed, to my knowledge. I receive the following information.
Error Code -1071607685 Error Column 0 Error Desc No status is available.
The only thing I can find for the above error code is
DTS_E_OLEDBDESTINATIONADAPTERSTATIC_UNAVAILABLE
To add to the confusion, I can not see any errors in the data written to the error table. It appears that after a certain point is reached in the processing, everything, or most records, error out.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

Hello,
I recently joined a company that is having an issue connecting to SQL Server Integration Services on one of their production servers. When trying to connect via management studio, both locally and remotely, they receive the error below. The server is a 64 bit server and is using third party replication (Veritas).
It sort of sounds like the issue described in this knowledge base article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/919224. However, we do not have a problem creating maintenance plans. I'd just give it a shot but its a production server and getting approval to do anything that modifies the registry with the registry replication setup is a pain, so I'd like to determine if there could be another cause first.

Hi All,
Recently in an SSIS package I am getting the following error for a particular Data flow task.
Error: 2008-01-25 12:01:48.58
Code: 0xC0202009
Source: Import Datasynapse Data User Events Source [3017]
Description: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_OLEDBERROR. An OLE DB error has occurred. Error code: 0x8000FFFF.
End Error
Error: 2008-01-25 12:01:48.73
Code: 0xC004701A
Source: Import Datasynapse Data DTS.Pipeline
Description: component "User Events Source" (3017) failed the pre-execute phase and returned error code 0xC0202009.
End Error
Our guess is when the data size of User Events table is more it throws this error. If we try to transfer small subset of data it succeeds. What could be reason for this error?
Since this is very urgent, immediate response would be very much appreciated.
Thanks & Regards,
Prakash Srinivasan

I click on menu item SSIS and enable logging to my SQL Database (SSIS log provider for SQL Server). When I run the package it runs fine for the first time. Upon subsequent runs I get the following error.
[Log provider "SSIS log provider for SQL Server"] Error: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_OLEDBERROR. An OLE DB error has occurred. Error code: 0x80040E14. An OLE DB record is available. Source: "Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server" Hresult: 0x80040E14 Description: "There is already an object named 'sysdtslog90' in the database.".
It seems like I need to drop the table every time to avoid this error. Is there a way I can log all package logs to single table historically? Any weblink or tip is appreciated.
Thanks!

Hi:
I have rollback on one of the users. I tried killing
her process through Enterprise Manager and Query Analyzer,
but I still can see her process on the screen. However, her
login is grayed out after I execute the kill query.
I have encountered this problem several times, and the only way
I can get clear the rollback is by rebooting the server.
Does anyone have a sugeestion on how to clear the rollback
without rebooting.
Please advise if you have any suggestion.
Thanks in advance.

Hi All
A question on DTS ROLLBACK CAPABILITY.
Is it possible to setup a DTS pkg to roll back the loaded files if a step fails?
If a step fail records inserted by Data Pump to a table should be removed.
Is this possible? If so how can we achieve this?
Any advice is appreciated.

The code inserts into table TABLES. TABLES has a primary key.
If the insert statement has no error it should insert 'ROWS INSERTED' to table CONTROL and update table DATETRACKING else insert 'ROWS NOT INSERTED' to table CONTROL and do not update table DATETRACKING.
1- I will like to improve my code if it is possible.
2- Can I use a rollback?
