SPLIT RANGE Partition Error

Hello All,
I am using SQL 2005 SP2. I have a table partitioned on date range. I am trying to SWITCH, MERGE and SPLIT partitions.
My SWITCH and MERGE work great. When the SPLIT query is executed, an error 9002 is thrown....
"The transaction log for database is full. To find out why space in log cannot be resued, see log_reuse_wait_desc column in sys.databases."
Below are more details...
- All SWITCH, MERGE and SPLIT are executed in one TRANSACTION.
- After SWITCH and MERGE, I execute a query set the partition scheme "NEXT USED [PRIMARY]".
- Finally i execute SPLIT statement.
Could you please tell me where am I going wrong?
Any help would be appreciated.

I am trying to implement a sliding window on a table in SQL Server 2005 but i am having some problem.
I have two tables, "Letture" and "LettureStorico". The first one receives data on a few seconds basis, some thousands of rows each day. The second is the historical record and should store all the records till midnigh of two days before, that is, if today is November 21st, LettureStorico stores rows till November 19th 23.59:59.997.
At some time during morning of each day i want to run a stored procedures that takes the records older than midnight of two days before in "Letture" and switch them as a partition in "LettureStorico"
Here's what i do:

Every morning i run a stored procedure that, after dropping the check constraints (i'll recreate the at the end), does the following:

Till now, everything is working as expected.
Now, when i try to run the same Stored Procedure " a day later" (NewBoundary moved on 1 day) i receive, when i do the "ALTER PARTITION FUNCTION PartizioneLive() SPLIT RANGE (@NewBoundary)" i receive a 7707 error message:
"Msg 7707, Level 16, State 1, Line 1
The associated partition function 'PartizioneLive' generates more partitions than there are file groups mentioned in the scheme 'schemapartizioneLive'."
How is this possible if i used the "ALL TO [PRIMARY]" and specified which file to use next as in (1) ? Why all this succeeds the first time (when i have 3 partitions) but not the second (again i have just three partitions, i checked) ?
Someone can help me on this, please ?

Is it possible to show the number of rows and the range for each partition in a table ?
This shows me the range but not the row count per partition

Using SQL Server 2008 R2
I'm trying to create a report and chart for a a manufacturing resource's activity for a given period (typically 30-90 days)
Jobs are created for the length of the run (e.g. 4 days). If the weekend is not worked and the above jobs starts on a Friday, the resource's activity needs to show 1 day running, 2 days down, 3 days running without the production scheduler having to make it two jobs. (A job can have multiple interruptions due to downtime). I have the jobs' schedules in one table and the downtimes in another (so think of the downtime as a calendar table--non working hours). Unusually, the end time is supplied with the downtime factored in.
So I need the query to create 3 datetime ranges for this job: Fri running, Sat,Sun down, Mon,Tues,Wed Running. Been going round in circles on this for a while. i'm sure there's an elegant way to do it: I just can't find it. I've found several similar post, but can't apply any to my case (or at least can;t get them to work)
Below is some sample date and expected results. I hope the explanation and example data is clear.

Let's say if the date is 01/01/2015 till 01/01/2016
I want split these dates monthly format wise and then use them in variable in cursors to loop
For an example Monthly date should be 01/01/2015 and 01/31/2015 and use these two values in 2 variables and make a loop until it never ends whole date range which is 01/01/2016

I am trying to make a custom task. The custom task has one input, which i map to externalmetadata column in the task and one output.
When i run the task it fails with this error ( I am putting the whole SSIS message)

Hi,
I'm getting an error that reads "The conversion of a char data type to a datetime data type resulted in an out of range value data time value"
for the following view sql:
CONVERT (datetime, System . dbo.zStatus.MyDate)
MyDate is a char(8)
Any suggestions?

Getting the below error msg on my conditional split. I changed the error output to ignore errors and that keeps the error msg from appearing (and everything seems to work normally), but why would it evaluate to NULL?

Modify the error row disposition on the output to treat this result as False (Ignore Failure) or to redirect this row to the error output (Redirect Row). The expression results must be Boolean for a Conditional Split. A NULL expression result is an error.

A little puzzle with this Error - Status and PropertyType fields do not allow nulls while other columns do ( there are about 20 columns in original expression but left out for simplicity - these are created the same way ). Any ideas how to solve it?

I have a report that is using the following expression for one of the fields:
=Split(Fields!FromAccount.Value, " ")(1)
The format of the number is xxxxx-xxx xxxxxxxxxxxx
So the function is to grab the second section of numbers after the space. The query for this report can bring back 1 to many results which equals one to many pages.
I have an issue where the query returns three results. The first page will display the correct number, the second page displays #Error and the third displays the number.
When I run the query from Management Studio I see the numbers are as follows:
xxxxx-xxx xxxxxxxxxxxx
xxxxx-xxx xxxxxxxxxxxx
xxxxx-xxx xxxxxxxxxxxx
Note the first and and last lines have extra spaces which I thought would be the cause of the problem though I would've expected the #Error to appear on the first and third page rather than the second one.
When I remove the extra space for the first and third number all three pages display their values correctly.
However, there are many, many numbers in the table that have one to two spaces. These numbers are from a spreadsheet that is imported biweekly. So it was either I fix the spreadsheet before every import or I come up with a new expression to check for one or two spaces. This is what I came up with:
=IIF (Fields!FromAccount.Value.Contains("Â "), Split(Fields!FromAccount.Value, "Â ")(1),Split(Fields!FromAccount.Value, " ")(1))
Now, the first page displays the number correctly while the second and third page displays with the #Error. Basically I want to say if the value contains two spaces then split at the two spaces otherwise split at the one space.

Hi all i have setup merge replication with one publisher and 3 subscribers
The replication worked fine for about 2 months then i recieved the following error on all my subscriptions
The Publisher failed to allocate a new set of identity ranges for the subscription.
This can occur when a Publisher or a republishing Subscriber has run out of identity
ranges to allocate to its own Subscribers or when an identity column data type does
not support an additional identity range allocation. If a republishing Subscriber has
run out of identity ranges, synchronize the republishing Subscriber to obtain more

I am embedding the ReportViewer in an aspx page and the report comes up fine, but when I press the "Next Page" or "Last Page" buttons, I get the error: "Page navigation is out of range".
The application has session state turned off.
The problem occurs whether or not the viewstate for ReportViewer is turned on or off.
How can I fix this problem?

I am unable to migrate any DTS packages, from a SQL Server 2000 package, from a structured storage file, or from a DTS package imported into SQL2005 (Developer Edition, 32 bit). I've a report whose columns are returned from a stored procedure. Now I want to display the report based on a date range. The date field is Received. It's in dbo.master. I have a need to select rows where values in a column are within a range AND ALSO the first row that is highest (MAX) but just UNDER the range. For example:
