SQL 2012 :: Query With Three Tables?

I currently have a query that uses three tables [Table1, Table2, Table3]. Each table only has two columns: Group and something else. I want a query that gives me the group and those three something else.
Table1: Group and Info1
Table2: Group and Info2
Table3: Group and Info3
Query: Group, Info1, Info2, Info3
The groups never repeat in a single table.
However, the groups are not identical in every table. I want the groups to never repeat twice: All the groups should appear if they are there at least once in one of the table, and provide Info1, Info2, Info3 (blank if it's not there in its table, filled if it is).
That should be a fairly simple query, I just can't seem to make it work so groups don't repeat.
Little visual example.
Table1: Group - Info1
1 - a
2 - b
4 - c
5 - d
Table2: Group - Info2
1- aa
3- bb
4- cc
Table3: Group - Info3
5- aaa
The query would give me this:
1 - a - aa - ""
2 - b - "" - ""
3 - "" - bb - ""
4 - c - cc - ""
5 - d - "" - aaa

I need to make a query that counts installed developer software for all our developers (from the sccm database), for licensing purposes. The trick here is that a license should only be counted once per. developer and that should be the highest version. But in the database, the developers can have different versions of the software installed (upgrades) on the same computer and they often use several computers with different software versions.
So for example: A source table with two developers

I have created a query using cursors that give me the correct result, but it's way to slow to be acceptable (over 20 min..). I also toyed with the idea of creating some sort of CRL proc or function in C# that does the logic, but a SCCM consultant from MS said that if I create any kind of custom objects on the SCCM SQL Server instance, we loose all support from them. So I'm basically stuck with using good old fashioned T-SQL queries.
My idea now, is to use a CTE table and combine it with a Temp table with the software and a rank. I feel that I'm on the right track, but I just can't nail it properly.
This is how far I have come now:

I want to insert TABLE 1 into TABLE 2 with a query that will auto increment to COL4 looking like this:
COL1 COL2 COL3 COL4
b b b 343
a a a 344
c c c 345
d d d 346
e e e 347
AAA BBB CCC 348
QQQ WWW EEE 349
AAA SSS DDD 350
WWW EEE RRR 351
BBB BBB BBB 352
I know this can be done easily by just altering the column to have an auto-increment datatype, but I currently cannot do that at this moment.

I have two tables table1 and table2 and having a common column "col1"
When i ran the following query
UPDATE table1, table2 SET col1=FALSE WHERE id = 1;
getting the following error
Error Code: 1052 Column 'col1' in field list is ambiguous
id column exist in both the tables and need to update both the tables to false where the id is equivalent to 1.
how to achieve this in single query?

I am trying to run an update statement against a vendor's database that houses HR information. If I run a regular select statement against the database with the following query, it returns without error:

I am assuming I am receiving this error because it doesn't know where to find QUDDAT-INT? How can I fix that?
The "QUDDAT-INT" column houses the employee number. So in the case of the SELECT query above, I am testing against a specific employee number.

i need a query to return the top 10 tables in each database on a server. have used EXEC sp_msforeachtable 'sp_spaceused ''?''' which returns what I need for one db but I need it to loop through and gather the info for all dbs on server. maybe need cursor not sure. for reporting reasons i would like to include the name of the server and name of database.

I am using the following select statement to get the row count from SQL linked server table.
SELECT Count(*) FROM OPENQUERY (CMSPROD, 'Select * From MHDLIB.MHSERV0P')
MHDLIB is the library name in IBM DB2 database. The above query gives me only the row count of table MHSERV0P. However, I need to get the names, rowcounts, and sizes of all tables that exist in MHDLIB librray. Is it possible at all?

how do I get the variables in the cursor, set statement, to NOT update the temp table with the value of the variable ? I want it to pull a date, not the column name stored in the variable...

I have two tables. I have three columns DEPARTMENT_NAME, LAST_NAME, JOB_ID.
DEPARTMENT_NAME is from table 1.
JOB_ID and LAST_NAME are from table 2.
I would like to count the number of employees for each DEPARTMENT_NAME and I want to be displayed DEPARTMENT_NAME, LAST_NAME, JOB_ID. But all I can do is to find the number of employees for each job_id. One DEPARTMENT_NAME has more than one JOB_ID.
Here is my code:
SELECT E.JOB_ID, D.DEPARTMENT_NAME, COUNT(E.LAST_NAME)

I have one database with several tables in it (table 1, table2, table3). In each table is two colums (colum1 = a number (201220) and colum2 = a number (0.50). Now, both tables will have rows with the same data in colum 1, but colum two will have different numbers (different prices). My goal is to run a query that will compare both colums in all three tables, take the lower of the three based on colum 2 and spit out the row. Obviously, this would output all rows (around 175k). The point is to create a least cost spreadsheet (csv) file based on evaluating all three tables.

I have 3 tables , Customer , Sales Cost Charge and Sales Price , i have join the customer table to the sales price table with a left outer join into a new table.
i now need to join the data in the new table to sales cost charge. However please note that there is data that is in the sales price table that is not in the sales cost charge table and there is data in the sales cost charge table that is not in the sales price table ,but i need to get all the data. e.g. if on our application it shows 15 records , the sales price table will maybe have 7 records and the sales cost charge table will have 8 which makes it 15 records
I am struggling to match the records , i have also tried a left outer join to the sales cost charge table however i only get the 7 records which is in the sales price table. see code below

I would like to do a dynamic audit for the tables ( columns which needs to audited will also change dynamically). For example,
I am having 3 tables, table1 table2 table3
User can select Table 1 ( col 1, col3, col4) and Table2 ( col 3 and col 5).
I want to achieve this functionality without any triggers or output clause, so only one option which is left is "ChangeDataCapture" ( to my knowledge). So i did a small POC. The problem here is, system captures all the field data even though value doesn't change, for example,

1 IND INDIA
Update TableA
Set CountryCode = 'INDI', CountryName = 'INDIA'
Where CountryId = 1
On running the above query, CDC stores the value for both the columns, but i don't want this. I only wanted to store the CountryCode value alone.

I have decided to use Wufoo online forms so collect evaluation data from my clients. Each form will have different type of data.
For example
Form 1 might have:
Client id, name, user id, comments
Form 2 might have:
Client id, name, user id, address, comments, telephone number
Form 3 might have:
Client id, name, user id, comments, date of birth, email address
Each form can have over 20+ data types which can be all different to other forms.My question is: What is the best way to store all the data into sql server without creating new columns of new data types everytime a new form is created in wufoo.

I don't want to do a backup/restore routine as there are collation conflicts on the 2008 server.I've created the database and tables on the 2012 instance and now I want to transfer the data from the 2008 instance to the 2012 one.
The 2012 instance has a linked server to the 2008 instance.I was trying to use sp_MSForEachTable (I know, it's old and will probably disappear shortly) but that doesn't seem to work properly because some of the columns have an Identity field set up.
Some of the tables have upwards of 10 million records in them and are quite sizeable.how I can achieve the transfer without a back-up/restore?

I have two tables tbl1 and tbl2, which I do a full outer join between tbl1 and tbl2 on recordId field. The recordId field is not a key in either of the tables.
If there is one row each for a recordId 123 in both tables, the select query would return one combined row.
If tble1 had two rows for recordId 123, and tbl2 had one row for the same, it would return to rows repeating the data in tbl2.
If tbl2 had two rows and bl1 had one row, it would return two rows in output repeating the data in tbl1.
Is the above correct? Would the result be different if it was an inner join instead of full outer join?
Is it ever possible that one of the two records with recordId 123 will be dropped from the result?

I have this task, I have to copy from one database into a remote all record which contain a specific value into a specific column. (the remote Db destination tables are already created)
I have already identified all tables to copy (about 3000 with 60Milions of records), now how to implement the most performing way to copy records.
If most performing, the destination database can be placed on the source Sql instance, I can move the database on the destination instance after I have copied all records.

I have two tables, INCIDENT and PEOPLE
INCIDENT has two fields, ID and Date
PEOPLE has three fields, INC_ID [foreign key to INCIDENT.ID], PersonIteration, Complaint
There is always only one incident, but there can be one or more people involved in each incident.
I'd like to retrieve incidents, but have it include information from all involved person on one line.
No matter how I have tried to join these tables, I am ending up with one record each for each person involved in an incident, like so
ID PersonIteration Complaint
1 1 Head
1 2 Neck
1 3 Shoulder
I would like to join in this fashion:
ID PersonIteration1 Complaint1 PersonIteration2 Complaint2
1 1 Head 2 Neck
Is there any way to do this?

We are using partitions and all the table are properly aligned as per the partition keys. When this particular sp, which is inserting data to a table from a different table based on the partitionkeys is called by Web UI where threading has been applied, dead lock appears.
Let me make it more clear.
ThreadOne:
Insert into table A(partitionKey,BatchId,...)
select * from table B where partitionkey = 1
ThreadTwo:
Insert into table A(partitionKey,BatchId,...)
select * from table B where partitionkey = 2
I can see sometimes it gives deadlock for this procedure, not sure about the reason, as far as I guess since the tables are partitioned and escalation is set to Auto the deadlock should not occur.

1. Take a subset of data from about 100 tables that have multiple references to other tables in this group of 100 from a first DB.
2. Insert the above data into a second DB, a database that already has data in the 100 tables, while maintaining the correct references.
As a general approach, the best way I can think of doing this is as follows:
1. Create mapping tables for every ID that is referenced in a different table (OldID NewID)
2. Insert the old data into the new table and output the OldID and NewID into the mapping table.
3. Use that mapping data to make sure all tables that use those IDs have the new IDs in DB2.
This approach is extremely labor intensive both on initial implementation and would require a fairly substantial amount of work to maintain going forward.

I'm using SQL Server 2012 Enterprise Edition, and i Enable CDC to started the service.
I've set up CDC on multiple tables, and I see them (under system table)
While the database backup (export file 'BAK'), and imports I do not see the tables of the CDC.
1. Condition restore / backup is full.
2. Carried out an attempt to copy the MDF & LDF files (replace them), to no avail.
How to back up data of these tables.

I was just looking at an SSIS package someone else set up and I went into one of the execute SQL tasks and it is calling a stored procedure to truncate a table. There are a lot of places that tables are truncated within this SSIS package. But each one the 'database', 'owner', and 'table' name are hard coded.
Like this: exec dbo.uspTruncateTable 'dbname', 'dbo', 'tblname'
Of course there are different names, just changed for an example.
Here is the code in the Stored Procedure.
CREATE procedure [dbo].[uspTruncateTable]
@nDatabase varchar(255),
@nOwner varchar(255),
@ntable varchar(255)
as
declare @sqlString nvarchar(max)
set @sqlString = 'Truncate Table ' + @nDatabase + '.' + @nOwner + '.' + @ntable

This just seems like an unneeded step, just code the 'truncate table dbname.dbo.tblname'.
