SQL 2012 :: Run Job With Dtsx File Error If Have Connection Of DB2
May 23, 2014
I create a ssis package with have connection DB2 (I install ibm_data_server_client_win32_V97 in server) in sql2008 (run ok). I deployment in SQL 2012. When i run with Visual Studio or run direct package (*.dtsx). File run OK.
But, i run with job have a error as below.

I run with user full permission. I run job success with dtxs no contain DB2 connection. Do you have a this case?

I have a bundling package that runs about 20 other packages. It has been working fine for a while but a couple of days ago it fail with the following message,
Error 0x800706BE while loading package file "D:PackagesToradSales.dtsx". The remote procedure call failed.
I´m running the SSIS packages in an 64-bit environment.
When i run it from sql server data tools on the test box it runs fine. However when i run it from the ssisdb directly i get the below error.
reload table tablename1 from Excel file:Error: The "filetoload.Outputs[Excel Source Output].Columns[Product]" failed because truncation occurred, and the truncation row disposition on "filetoload.Outputs[Excel Source Output].Columns[Product]" specifies failure on truncation. A truncation error occurred on the specified object of the specified component.
reload table t from Excel file:Error: There was an error with filetoload.Outputs[Excel Source Output].Columns[Product] on filetoload.Outputs[Excel Source Output]. The column status returned was: "Text was truncated or one or more characters had no match in the target code page.".
I experienced a weird error while deploying my SSIS package. After running the manifest file, i noticed that one of the configuration file's path was not updated in the dtsx file. My solution has 8 packages and almost every package has 2 configuration files. Except 1 file every other config file's path is being updated. Has anybody experieced such a problem?
My target is to make a job which executes a dtsx package.
I made a simple dtsx which executes a simple "Execute SQL task", added a connection into the connection manager, using sql authentication.
I test the dtsx from bids: runs ok.
Package protectionlevel is set to EncryptSensitiveWithUserKey
Then I build the solution, connect to Integration Services, right click on the MSDB folder, import package.
I select: Package location = File System
Package path is the built dtsx file, and I don't select any Protection level (not sure here). now I see the package under MSDB. Right click > Run Package > Runs OK
I create a job now:
New step of type SQL server integration services package, package source = SSIS package store
If I run the job I get this error.

Problem: ColA (Source) Rounding error to PARTY_NO (Destination) I have a field of text of in a flat file that the flat file connection manager Source picks up correctly €œ70000893€? However when it gets the OLE DB Connection Destination the data has changed to 70000896. That€™s before its even Written to the database. The only clue that something is wrong in the middle is the great Data viewer shows the number as 7.000009E+07 Other clues looking at the data it appears there is a rounding error on only the number that dont end in 00 ColA (Source) PARTY_NO (Destination) 71167300 71167296 70329000 70329000 70410000 70410000 Any ideas people? Thanks in advance Dave
I have a job that runs a dtsx package (containing an infinite loop). What I want to do is set up a schedule to start the job at 8am and stop it at 5pm. The scheduling GUI doesn't give this kind of option (caveat: that I can see).
Ok, I'm actually adding a SSIS job to my job agent on my test SQL server. Noticed that when I go to my job agent --> add new job, under the steps option, I click new. this then takes me to the new job step window. When I select
Type as SQL Server Integrated Services, I then see some new tabs at the bottom of the form. Under package source I can select File System, SQL Server, or SSIS Package Store, then I have to select the location of the dtsx file.
So my question is, since I can select the actual file (package) I want to run from here, do I really have to import a package to the file system or MSDB under the SQL Integration Services on the server?
It appears to me that its kind of the same thing.
I'm new to this SSIS, SQL DB work, so I'm learning as I go. . . .
This is the situation: I've a dtsx package wich creates a tab delimited txt file from a sql server 2005 databasetable. Now this all works just fine. But what I want to do is that the user can choose the destination path of that created txt-file. Right now I've declared the path when I created the flat file source.
On the net I found that a config file for a dts package (sql server 2000 - Dynamic Property Task) could do the trick...
How dow you schedule a file(.dtsx)(I think it is a package) that was created in the SQL Server BI Design Studio to run? I can locate the file I created in SQL Server Management Studio and see it in the right hand pane and even edit it. I can run it in the Design Studio, but cant see how to do that in Management Studio nor how to schedule it.
This is my first attempt at recreating a DTS package using SQL Server tools instead of the Legacy conversion wizard, and I think my brain has overheated. I just cant find it on the Management Screen or the Design. I am also not searching correctly anymore on books online because I cannot find it.
Thanks for pointing me to where I need to go or do.
I am having trouble with a dtsx package to truncate a table, then insert the contents of a .csv file. The package is being executed off the local filesystem, reading a csv on the same file system, and inserting into a remote SQL 2k5 server. If I run the package alone in BI it will run perfectly, if I implement the package into a console app in visual studio, it will trunc the table, but will not insert any of the data in the csv file. When running from DtExec I recieve the following error on the CSV portion after the table is truncated:
Code: 0xC00470FE Soure: Data Flow Task DTS.Pipeline Description: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_PRODUCTLEVELTOLOW. The product level is insufficient for for componenet "Soure - My_File_CSV" (1).
I have tried all the work arounds I can find without any luck. All help will be appreciated.
I need to process a 2012 Excel file. In SSIS Connection Manager, I am only given an option until Excel 2007 version. When I use this in my connection for Excel Source, I am prompted with this error when I attempt to select the name of the sheet:
"Could not retrieve the table information for the connection manager 'Excel Connection Manager'.
Failed to connect to the source using the connection manager 'Excel Connection Manager'"
So I've seen articles outlining how to execute a package in VB and how to pass variables along to the package, which is great.
But I'm wanting write a VB.NET app that will read the xml in a .dtsx package, looking for the available variables (and datatypes) that need to be passed to the package to configure it properly. Anyone done this? Is it best to use parent package variables? Or another type of configuration?
When looking at the xml of a .dtsx file, I can see a variables section that could be parsed... is there anything letting me know what is required versus optional? How do I know the datatype that I need to pass? Any help would be appreciated...
I'd need an help because I'm stucked!! I have to import an Excel file into my DB. The Excel file is made by 2 worksheets but I need only one and inside this worksheet I have to loop through the columns and for each column I define a Data Flow that trasform the data as necessary and then insert into the table.
I started with a "Foreach ADO.NET Schema Rowset Enumerator" with connection=excel file and the schema was set to "Columns" but the loop go also through the worksheet that I don't need..
after 4 hours of tries I'm lost... Someone could give me an advice? ThankX Marina B.
When I execute the RSExecutionLog_Update.dtsx, I get an error saying "The task "Set Time period" cannot run on this edition of Integration Services. It requires higher level edition". I am using the Proffesional Edition of SQL2005 and the Integration Services Version is 9.00.1399.00. I have configured the target database RSExecutionLog correctly. Wat could be the problem?
I am creating my first SSIS package, simple, I read a file, a computation and then write it to an excel.
I am getting the message: "Test connection failed because of an error in initializing provider." The database is NOT remote. My computer is slow though. after about 10 or 15 seconds after clicking the button to test my connection, I get the message and much more. The message asks me if the instance name is correct. I don't know what this would be. This message is on the first task, reading the file (finding the file).
The last sentence of the long message is: "Named pipes provider: Could not open a connection to SQL Server (2).
My question is: Why am I getting this message and what do I need to do to resolve this problem?
I had encountered an error on SSIS its not allowing me to create any new packages. Below is the error message. Please do help be out. This problem had occurred on my server machine

I have a situation where a tab limited text file is used to populate a sql server table.
The tab limited text file comes from a third party vendor. There are fixed number of columns we need to export to the sql server table. However the third party may add colums in the text file. Whenenver the text file has an added column (which we dont need to import) the build fails since the flat file connection manager does not create the metadata for it again. The problem goes away where I press the button "Reset Columns" since it builds the metadata then. Since we need to build the tables everyday we cannot automate it using SSIS because the metadata does not change automatically. Is there a way out in SSIS?

I can run a package that has flat file connection... I can run it withoutany erros in BI studio.. but I am keep getting the above erro after I depoly the package and run as a sql agent job.. I just can not figure out why I am getting this error.. any Idea.. please help..
When the data is transferred from source to destination (replace not append), the data in one field in one table is incorrect. Both source and destination tables have the same number of rows (8493). The ProductID field data range at the source is from 58958 to 73008. When the table is copied the ProductID field data runs from 1 to 8493.
What would cause this skewing of data?
This happens on brand new dtsx packages and this only happens in one field out of 5 different tables.
We have a DTSX in which parallel threads are processing ETL. There is a Final step in the DTS to do cleanup tasks. we are getting the following error after ETL completes. This is not consistently reproduced.

I am developing one SSIS package to migrate an Oracle Database to SQL Server 2005 DB through ODBC. My problem is with configuration. I have to use configuration file so that in production environment the end-user must be able to change the user credentials to connect both database servers. I am trying xml configuration file. When I try to use xml configuration, my odbc connection is giving error. But if I disable the configuration through "Package Configurations Organizer", it works fine. Using an XML Editor I checked the .dtsconfig file and entered both passwords for the both connections.
I tried logging and below are the few text from log file related to error.
Code Block User:Diagnostic, Nebu, BLRDOMNebu, DestOdbcConnection,{E3535ED4-1D21-41B9-9796-E9F5B47FFD5B}, {6820E259-18FF-4FCA-B820-73EE931D2095},12/17/2007 8:16:39 PM,12/17/2007 8:16:39 PM,0,0x,ExternalRequest_pre: The object is ready to make the following external request: 'IDbConnection.Open'.

I am using Protection level = EncryptSensitiveWithPassword for the package.
I am trying to enable the FileStream in SQL Server 2012 Enterprise Edition. I can successfully enable "Enable Filestream for Transact-SQL Access" but I am unable to enable "Enable Filestream for the file I/O access". Due to this I am unable to open the folder location of the filetable.
I am using vs 2010 to write my dtsx import scripts.I use a script component as a source to create a flat file destination file.Everything have been working fine, but then my development machine crashed and we have to install everything again. Now when i use the execute package utility to test my scripts i get the following error:
Error system.NullReferenceException: Object refrence not set to an instance reference.
In PreExecute section TextReader = new system.io.streamreader(" file name") In the CreateNewOutputRows: dim nextLine as string nextLine = textReader.ReadLine
[code]...
is there something which i did not install or what can be the error?
I am having some issues with dts packages i have migrated using the package migration wizard.
One of the connection managers points to an execl flat file source.
I have not altered anything after the package migration, the conenction manager is using Native OLE DBMicrosoft Jet 4.0 OLE DB Provider.
When i test the connection i get the following error :
"Test connection failed becuase of an error in initializing provider. Cannot start your application. The workgroup information file is missing or opened exclusively by anotehr user."
Ok i am 99% sure this file is not being accessed by another user, the rest of the error is greek to me. Looking on the net for this error it has to do with access database security and having to sertup htm pages for IIS, i cannot findanything on this error relating to ssis connection manager.
We are struggling to add an extra column to a Dtsx package. The package essentially compiles data into a table and then exports the data to a series of Spreadsheets. So far I have ended up doing the following: -
-Creating a new Folder for the Spreadsheet Templates, copying the existing spreadsheets into the new Folder and then added the new Column. -Creating new Connection Managers in the Package to connect to these new templates. -Adding the column to the various data flow tasks so that the new column is converted and then exported (data type is varchar(30), conversion type is Unicode text stream [DTNTEXT]).
Everything validates when we compile the dtx package. However when we run the package we are getting the following error: -

Hi, I got this error in a Flat File connection manager, it was saying that the last column caused the disk I/O Buffer overflow, whereas the last column contains 188 characters at max.
