Calculate Total Amount Of Order Details Based On Particular Order

Apr 10, 2014

I have a query that calculate the total amount of order details based on a particular order:

Select a.OrderID,SUM(UnitPrice*Quantity-Discount)
From [Order Details]
Inner Join Orders a
On a.OrderID=[Order Details].OrderID
Group by a.OrderID

My question is what if I wanted to create a formula to something like:

UnitPrice * Quantity - DiscountAmount Where DiscountAmount = UnitPrice Quantity * Discount

Do I need to create a function for that? Also is it possible to have m y query as a table variable?

Select Customer Last Inserted Order Details

Sep 15, 2007

Hi,

SELECT DISTINCT
TblOrder.CustomerUID,
TblOrder.OrderHiddenID,
TblPayment.PaymentAmount,
TblPayment.Result,
TblOrder.OrderID
FROM TblOrder
CROSS JOIN TblPayment
WHERE (TblOrder.CustomerUID = @IsCustomerID)
AND (TblOrder.OrderHiddenID = @IsHiddenID)

Northwind - Problem With 'Order Details' Table

Oct 29, 2007

Hi Friends

I faced a problem when using Northwind sample Database. On of the table in the database is 'Order Details'. I am unable to query on the table because of the space in the name ('Order'<space> 'Details') of the table. When I remove the space in the name, the reports associated in Cognos are not working properly. Let me know whether there is any purpose to put the name like that and if I want to see the data in query mode how it is possible.

Thanks in advance
Satish

Order Status

Sep 1, 2007

Hi all - am having trouble working out what would be the best way to do this (most efficient)I have written an order, despatch and accounts system.  To get a list of orders ready for despatch, I have written a query which calculates the amount of items ordered against the amount of items despatched from that order.  If there are any outstanding items, then this order is in the list of orders which are outstanding for despatch.
I am having trouble working out how to go about creating a list of orders ready do be invoiced... Orders that are ready to be invoiced can be completely despatched orders or part despatched orders.  That is to say that if an order is only half despatched, my client still wants to be able to raise an invoice against that part of the order.  I envisage creating a query which checks my orderline table to see if the item has been invoiced and creating the list from there.  But as the application is used more and more, this query will take longer to run?  ANy ideas?
Thanks.
Steve.

Order Status Like Webpage

Jun 18, 2008

We are an accountanting firm who wants to upload tax returns in the .pdf form for our clients. We want them to be able to login, receive that status of their return, and if completed download the .pdf. But what we cannot have is everybody having access to everybody's returns, it has to be exclusive to that client and their username and password. It also has to be a simplified process where once a .pdf is made, one of the employees will have administration access to upload the file to the website corrolating with a clients information. I'm assuming that would be done by a web application?? I have already set up a a login control, on the login.aspx page, along with the ASPNETDB.MDF through the ASP.NET Configuration tool. Also, I'm assuming the file naming process of the tax returns would fall into play somewhere?? I some how need to take the login information from the ASPNETDB.MDF and relate it to their PDF's. What I have explained is the major purpose of the site and if I could find the right help I would greatly appreciate it because I've been stuck on this road block for awhile.

Thanks,

Dynamic Order Status Column Function

Apr 7, 2008

I am looking for assistance coming up with a function (or maybe not a function if there is a better way) to make the Status column in my order table dynamic. The default value for new records will always be "1" to designate a quote. At this point the field is not dynamic. Once the customer confirms the order, the user needs to execute a command to change the status to "3" to designate a Confirmed order. At this point the field needs to be dynamic based on the shipping records. There are two order details tables. One for sales items and one for rental items. Each of these details tables has their own shipping record. the CheckInOut Tables are for rental while the Ship tables are for sales. So, if some (but not all) of the items in either of these order details tables has a shipping record associated with it, then the status should be changed to "5". If everything has been shipping, the status is changed to "4". If everything has been shipping but some items have been returned, the status is "6" if everything has been shipping and all of the RentalDetail items have been returned then the status is "7" and if there is any other combination of a variety of ships and returns, the status is "8". Also, at any time, the user needs to be able to execute a command to change the value to "2". once the value is changed to "2" the field stops being dynamic again.

Below are my tables creation commands.

CREATE TABLE OrderHeader
(
OrderID int identity primary key,
Status int,
StartDate datetime,
EndDate datetime
)--Use Type 1 = "Quote" Type 2 = "Cancelled" Type 3 = "Confirmed", Type 4 = "Shipped", Type 5 = "Part Shipped", Type 6 = "Part Returned", Type 7 = "Returned, Type 8 = "Mixed"
CREATE TABLE OrderRentalDetail

OrderRentalDetailID int identity primary key,
OrderID int FOREIGN KEY REFERENCES OrderHeader(OrderID),

CREATE TABLE CheckInOutHeader

T-SQL (SS2K8) :: Select Statement With Derived Order Status

Aug 28, 2015

Here is my requirement

Table 1 Order
order ID, Sales order ID order date, order type

Table 2 Order details
Order Details ID, Order ID, Order Stage

Table 3 Related Order details
Order ID(FK to Order ID), Related Order Details ID(FK to Order Details ID), Related Order ID( FK to Order ID)

Here is example

Table 1 Order
1, 1234, 2015-01-01, Refill
2, 1234, 2015-02-02, Extension

Table 2 Order Details
1, 1, Approved
2, 1, Approved
3, 2, Rejected

Table 3 Related Order Details
2, 1, 1
2, 2, 1

I have to Select Order, Order Details and Order Status

Order Status is determined from Order Stage as follows:

If, at least one order detail line(from Order Details and Related Order details table) is approved, that Order status=Approved.

For the example, Order Status of Order ID=2, is Approved based on order status for order details lines 3(from table 2) and order details ID 1 and 2 (from table 3)

How to combined order stage from table 2 and table 3 and then compute order status.

Create A View That Will Give Most Current Status (by Statusdatetime) Of Each Order Number

Jan 20, 2015

We are having trouble figuring out how to create a view for this scenario:

We have a status log table that holds an order number, statusdatetime, and statuscode. This table will have multiple status' for the same order number. I want to create a view that will give me the most current status (by statusdatetime) of each order number. This view would show: order number, statusdatetime, and statuscode.

Here is a sample of the data:

Order numberStatusDateTimeStatusCode
1234512/15/2014 15:00CREATE
1234512/15/2014 16:30CONFIRMED
4567812/16/2014 08:00CREATE
9876412/18/2014 12:00CREATE
9876412/19/2014 08:00CONFIRMED
4567812/17/2014 09:30CONFIRMED
4567812/19/2014 15:30IN-TRANSIT

So my view should result in :

Order numberStatusDateTimeStatusCode
1234512/15/2014 16:30CONFIRMED
9876412/19/2014 08:00CONFIRMED
4567812/19/2014 15:30IN-TRANSIT

XML Data To SQL Server With Multiple Orders An Multiple Order Details??

Aug 5, 2004

Hi all!

I'm trying to get some XML data into SQL Server but i ran into problem when inserting the data (multiple orders with multiple order details) using a single sproc. Is it possible, or do I have to do in some other way? :confused:

I simplified my example to this:
-----------------------------
--CREATE PROCEDURE sp_InsertOrders AS

DECLARE @docHandle INT, @xmlDoc VARCHAR(4000), @orderID INT

--DROP TABLE #Orders
CREATE TABLE #Orders
(
OrderId SMALLINT IDENTITY(1,1),
FkCustomerID SMALLINT NOT NULL,
OrderDate DATETIME NOT NULL
)

--DROP TABLE #OrderDetails
CREATE TABLE #OrderDetails
(
OrderDetailsId SMALLINT IDENTITY(1,1),
FkOrderID SMALLINT NOT NULL,
ProductID SMALLINT NOT NULL,
UnitPrice SMALLINT NOT NULL
)

Set @xmlDoc = '
<Orders>
<Order CustomerID="1" OrderDate="2004-04-01">
<OrderDetails ProductID="6" UnitPrice="19"/>
<OrderDetails ProductID="3" UnitPrice="11"/>
<OrderDetails ProductID="9" UnitPrice="7"/>
</Order>
<Order CustomerID="2" OrderDate="2004-04-12">
<OrderDetails ProductID="2" UnitPrice="24"/>
<OrderDetails ProductID="4" UnitPrice="13"/>
</Order>
</Orders>'

EXEC sp_xml_preparedocument @docHandle OUTPUT, @xmlDoc

INSERT INTO #Orders (FkCustomerID, OrderDate)
SELECT CustomerID, OrderDate
FROM OpenXML(@docHandle, 'Orders/Order', 3)
WITH (
CustomerID INTEGER,
OrderDate DATETIME
)

SET @OrderID = @@IDENTITY;

--INSERT INTO #OrderDetails (@OrderID, ProductID, UnitPrice)
SELECT @OrderID AS OrderID, ProductID, UnitPrice
FROM OpenXML(@docHandle, 'Orders/Order/OrderDetails', 3)
WITH (
ProductID INTEGER,
UnitPrice INTEGER
)
-----------------------------

All orders are inserted first which makes the use of @@IDENTITY incorrect (it works fine if you insert a single order with multiple order details). Since it was quite some time since I last worked with SQL I am not sure if am doing it the right way... :confused: :confused: Anybody out there who knows how to solve the problem?

Cheers,
Christian

OLE DB Consumer Templates - Updating DB With DynamicAccessor

Feb 26, 2008

Hello,
I'd like to use OLE DB consumer templates, but I have troubles with changing values in my test DB. I've created a simple MS access DB 'ZK2Test.mdb' with one table 'pokus'. This table consist of one column with number (short integer).
I can read values, thats works fine. But when I try to write something, it is not propagated into DB.
I call SetValue and Update on cTable object and every call returns S_OK. When I try to read value of first row after my write, I get my new value of first column. But after moving cursor somewhere else and back to first row, reading first column of first row returns again the previous value.

In code example is my attempt to change value 1 from first row to 421
Sequence of commands is (C1 means Column 1):

MoveFirst
GetValue(C1) = 1
SetValue(421 to C1)
Update()
GetValue(C1) = 421

MoveNext()
MoveFirst()
GetValue(C1) = 1

Could anybody please tell me, what is wrong?

Thanks for your answers

Code Snippet

CDataSource DTSrc;
CSession DTSession;
CTable<CDynamicAccessor, CRowset> cTable;

// Open DB
res = DTSrc.Open (L"Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0", "..\ZK2Test.mdb");
CHECK_RES(res);
res = DTSession.Open(DTSrc);
CHECK_RES(res);
CDBPropSet propset(DBPROPSET_ROWSET);
propset.AddProperty(DBPROP_IRowsetUpdate, true);
propset.AddProperty(DBPROP_UPDATABILITY, DBPROPVAL_UP_CHANGE | DBPROPVAL_UP_INSERT | DBPROPVAL_UP_DELETE);
res = cTable.Open(DTSession, L"pokus", &propset);
CHECK_RES(res);

// Move to first row
res = cTable.MoveFirst();
CHECK_RES(res);

dataPtr = cTable.GetValue(1);
x = *((SHORT*)dataPtr);
// Now the value of x is 1

x = 421;
if (!cTable.SetValue(1, x)) {
return FALSE;
}
res = cTable.Update();
CHECK_RES(res);

dataPtr = cTable.GetValue(1);
x = *((SHORT*)dataPtr);
// Now the value of x is 421

// Move cursor to the second row and back
res = cTable.MoveNext();
res = cTable.MoveFirst();
dataPtr = cTable.GetValue(1);
x = *((SHORT*)dataPtr);
// Now the value of x is 1 (the original value, WHY!?)

Can Data Analysis Done Using SQL Server 2005 Be Used In A Consumer Website?

Sep 4, 2006

I just have a simple question that can hopefully answer whether I should dive too deeply into Reporting/Analysis Services. I'm looking to run some clustering algorithms on user-inputted keywords on objects within my database (please see http://flickr.com/photos/tags/friends/clusters/ for an example of what I'm talking about). It seems to me that the various reporting methods that SQL Server provides would be an ideal, quick and easy way of providing this for my SQL Server 2005 database.

Can the reporting services provide this type of functionality? And if so, would this be scalable? I would want to be able to access this clustered data in much the same way I do queries across my database and would want them to be done quickly and efficiently.

Thank you for your help.

MovePrev After MoveToBookmark In OLEDB Consumer Templates Doesn't Work Properly

Mar 3, 2008

Hello,
I tried to use bookmarks in OLEDB consumer templates and I have problems with using MoveToBookmark. This method sets cursor position correctly on bookmarked row, but it seems to me it doesn't set the right cursor position in DB. When I call MovePrev after MoveToBookmark, I will not get previous row of the bookmarked row.
Simplified Example - I get bookmark of the first row, then move to the 3th row. Call MoveToBookmark (current row is no the first row). But when I call MovePrev I'will not get DB_S_ENDOFROWSET but the second row:

MoveFirst()
bk = GetBookmark()
MoveNext()
MoveNext() // Now I'm on third row
MoveToBookmark(bk)
GetData() - Now I get data from 1st row
MovePrev()
GetData() - Now I get data from the second row!!

All calls to OLEDB returs S_OK.
Does somebody now, whats wrong?

Thanks

DB Engine :: 2012 Database Stuck In Recovery Pending Status?

Jan 12, 2013

I have a SQL cluster which ran out of disk the other day.  I threw plenty more disk at the SAN.  However, 1 of the databases came back with Recovery Pending and has been over 24 hours.  I have tried to backup the database with no success.  I don't have a clean backup from the day it occured so would have a good amount of work missing.

Running a dbcc check returns the following:

Msg 945, Level 14, State 2, Line 1

Database 'sqldb' cannot be opened due to inaccessible files or insufficient memory or disk space.  See the SQL Server errorlog for details.

I have not tried a dbcc check with REPAIR_ALLOW_DATA_LOSS as there seems to be a high risk of losing whatever was going on.  how I can get the db back online?

Sep 24, 2014

I need to create a basic report that displays the userid, username, email, status and need to update the status column to enabled when we select any particular username. And the username parameter comes from the available users from the database. How to do this?

Do I need to mention the where clause where username=@username in the query or we don't need any

Also I need to get the available distinct usernames from the database while entering the parameter username

/*DECLARE variables to use IN queries*/
DECLARE @intErrorCode INT
DECLARE @ErrorMessage VARCHAR(MAX)
DECLARE @UserID INT
SET @ErrorMessage = 'Completed.'
SELECT [userid] ,

Also I need to create auditing that from before update and after update the accountstatus.
