If not, what is it?
After installing MSDE(with SP4) and SQL Server 2000 SP4 Replication Components, the SQL Server 2005 Mobile Server Tools installation fails when running the System Configuration Check with a SQL Server requirement Error.
"You must first install the Replication Components for SQL Server 2000 SP 3a or higher or the SQL Server 2005 Replication Components"
Am I getting this error because I'm using the Desktop Engine version of the SQL Server 2000??
The installation SQL 2008 R2 Management Tools on a Windows 7 workstation fails with the error, The specified account already exists.

I have installed SQL Server 2005 Mobile edition and also the server tools.
I configured a website to sync with my mobile application. When I go t check the SQL server Mobile agent with this url:
http://localhost/MobileTest/sqlcesa30.dll i get a http 500 internal error
I am using remote desktop to access the machine, when I am directly on the machine there is no error I get the correct message in the browser
"SQL Server Mobile Server Agent 3.0"
Is access to the web site via remote desktop a problem?

Hello,
I want to load-balance my PDAs accessing my database to make a merge replication.
As I have one server with the SQL Server Mobile Server Tools installed, can I configure some of these PDAs to use another server with SQL Server Mobile Server Tools to point on the same Database server?
Is it going to work or will it generate problems?
Thanks for your help,
Ben.
In Server Explorer of VS .NET 2003, I tried to generate SQL script of the dbo.Portal (ibs)
but got
"To use this feature, you must install the client tols for SQL Server"
When I searched for Help, I've got
"1.Insert the MS SQL Server 2000 compact disc in your CD-ROM drive"
I installed and use MSDE and cannot recall the use of any CD for installation.
1)
Does it mean that I cannot install client tools from MSDE installation?
If not...
2)
I have installation of MS SQL Server200 Enterprise that cannot be installed on Windows Xp Professional that I use. Can I still install "client tools" from Enterprise Ed. for MSDE
Good day,Can SQL Server tools (QA, EM) can be installed on a client machine froma full SQL Server installation on a server? I can't find the CD.Thanks for your time.Eric
View 4 Replies View RelatedHi all,
Having massive problem getting the SQL Server 2005 Management Tools to install on a XP Professional (SP2) computer. So I have no SSMS, Profiler, etc. Neither the files are there, nor the icons.
The error in the dialog box is coming back with:
"A component that you have specified in the ADD_LOCAL property is already installed. To upgrade the existing component, refer to the remplate.ini and set the UPGRADE property to the name of the component."
The computer would have had SQL 2000 and SQL 2005 Express Edition installed at some stage but both were uninstalled before my attempting to install SQL Server 2005 Developer Edition. Build 9.00.1399.06.
After this dialog box the setup fails that component (Management Tools) then crashes, generating a CAB file with all the logs in the C:Program FilesMicrosoft SQL Server90Setup BootstrapLOG directory.
The log files seem to indicate an incompatibility between version of files installed and what wants to be installed.
Problem of course is that it's probably read this from the registry somewhere, the files physically do not exist.
So I have tried the following with no luck:
start /wait setup.exe /qb REINSTALL=SQL_Tools90
start /wait setup.exe /qb REINSTALL=SQL_Tools90 REINSTALLMODE=OMUS
start /wait setup.exe /qb UPGRADE=SQL_Tools90
start /wait setup.exe /qb UPGRADE=SQL_Tools90 REINSTALLMODE=OMUS
So then I had a look in the registry. Found Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Tools under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionUninstall{A30965BD-2D4D-45CE-8F04-6A6889818CF1}
Is was to deleting the entire subtree, so thought that if I rename the GUID value and even the name that might solve the problem and force an install.
Still no joy.
So any ideas on how to force an installation of the Management Tools. I then plan to install SQL Server 2005 SP2.
I do not think that installing SQL Server 2005 SP2 will reinstall the files, but I could be wrong.
So any suggestions on what to wipe from the registry, whether there is a later set of the tools that I can install separately, or how I can force a reinstallation of the tools. Or should I install SQL Server 2005 SP2 and hope it fixes it up?
Perhaps I should uninstall the Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Tools using MsiExec.exe /I{A30965BD-2D4D-45CE-8F04-6A6889818CF1} from the registry and then try to install them again?
TIA,
Victor
I am a complete loss, here is what I have tried. I uninstalled what I thought was Sql Mobile and downloaded and installed SqlMobile30DeviceSDKENU.msi. I have the following directory structure I have tried to install the files marked with <==== each time I have seen the pda tell me that SQL MObile 2005 was installed but no ISQL under programs and when I run ISQL on the PDA and try to contect to a database it tells me the provider is not found and that SQL mobile is not installed correctly.

According to the SSCE mobile docs If I reference System.Data.SqlServerce and deploy to either the device or the emulator VS2005 checks that the correct dlls are set as a function of deploying. Well I guess I don't need to tell you that is not happening.
Hi,
I have SQL Mobile 2005 server tools installed on my server and also my development PC. I started working with SQL Compact on a mobile application I'm developing so I downloaded the SQL Compact Server Tools and installed on my laptop and it added folders "syncSQL" to my "Program FilesSQL Mobile" folder. I used the configure web sync wizard to create a sync folder for SQL Compact and it added the file sqlcesa30.dll version 3.0.5300.0 to the new folder. The previous sync folders set up using SQL Mobile have version 3.0.5214.0 of the same file.
I then went to install the Compact Server Tools on my server (downloaded the file). When it was installing it asked if I wanted to repair or remove SQL Mobile Server Tools (it didn't do this on the laptop install). I selected "repair" and it apparently successfully installed. I checked the Program FilesSQL Mobile folder and there was no "syncSQL" folder. I created a new web sync folder and the version of sqlcesa30dll added is 3.0.5223.0.
My laptop is running XP Professional and the server is Server 2003. Both are running SQL Server 2005 SP2. It looks like it hasn't installed the server tools correctly on the server, what am I doing wrong? I'm also getting a lot of sync errors and wonder if it has something to do with Compact/Mobile incompatibility.
Some extra information: when I install the SQL Compact Server Tools on my XP Pro computer, the installer window title says "Microsoft SQL Server Compact Edition - English". When I run the same install file on Windows Server 2003 the window title is "Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Mobile SP1 [ENU] Server Tools". It seems to install different versions of the software depending on the operating system. Could someone from Microsoft please confirm that this is the case, and advise how I can get the correct SQL Compact Server Tools for my server.
Regards,
Greg
I have used the tool at this URL
http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/express/support/uninstall/#Tool
and *cannot* get SQL Server 2005 Tools Express Edition CTP to uninstall. I get the following dialog box:
"The setup has encountered an unexpected error in datastore. The action is Write_CommitFlag. The error is:Unable to write property into cache flagCommit Unable to write property into cache: "flagCommit" XmlRW Error: Failure loading xmlrw.dll CheckAllProcedures() returned 2."
Any ideas as to how I can work around this ?
I have tried several times to install
SQL Server 2005 Developer Edition (most recently from MSDN Disk
3097.1) I have tried to complete an uninstall before each
attempt.
I do get the warning about Minimum Hardware Requirement, but can find
nothing in the detail requirements to exclude my PCs configuration.
I have installed: IIS and .NET Framework 2.0
I have also used ..aspnet_regiis -r to register ASP.NET
I am, successfully, running Visual Studio 2005.
Why does the installation process stop there and what can I do next?
I have something called Configure Web Synchronization Wizard under my SQL Server 2005 Mobile Edition on my XP machine. My problem is that I need to install it on a Windows 2000 machine and I can't find the installation package for it. I installed SQL Server 2005, which installed SQL Server 2005 Mobile Edition, but I didnt' get the wizard. I also installed Visual Studio 2005.
Anyone know where it is?
I'm trying to install the SQL Mobile 2005 Server tools on a Windows 2003
Server with IIS & MSSQL 2000 sp4.
I've stuck .NET 2.0 on already, but the installer for the server tools
Sqlce30setupen.msi just goes straight to the last page of the wizard and says
the install was interrupted.
I've run the install with logging turned on and this is the last portion of
the trace. Can anyone shed any light on whats going wrong.

View 17 Replies View RelatedHi,
I am currently working on a project which requires reports that need multi-pass queries. I am currently using Crystal Report 8.5 and am not sure how to use multi-pass queries.
Here's some explanation about what I need :
A report has 10 different columns (counters). However, to get the values in all the columns, the filters (WHERE clause) are different for all the columns.
The only way I can think of doing this in Crystal Reports 8.5 is using Sub-reports (that will kill my performance) or then write stored procedures to populate an intermediate table on which the report will be based on.
Is there any reporting tool in the market that will help me pass multiple queries (with different WHERE clauses) in the same report.
I would appreciate your help on the above the earliest.
Thank you.

Hi,
I'm trying to re-install SQL Server 2000 Desktop Engine andSQL Server client tools. I have succesfully re-installed the desktop engine, but I am getting the following error message when attempting to re-install theclient tools.
"Setup has detected an existing client tools only installation.
Please use the maintenance mode to add client components"
Unfortunately the Upgrade/Add/Remove option is greyed out as
an install option.
I attempted the registry hive rebuild option and the install appeared
to succeed. However, I cannot access any tools (Enterprise Manager
comes up with the message "The selected file cannot be found").
At this point, the desktop engine appears in Add/Remove programs
Window, but no other SQL Server components.
Any help very much appreciated!

A quick Q for all the Sql Server 2000 beta testers out there. Does anyone know of any problems associated with using SS2000 Enterprise Manager with a SS7 backend running SP2? In particular, I'm keen to try out the Tsql debugger features, if they'll work with SS7.
