Jun 20, 2006Does SQL Server 2005 come in any MSDN subscription packs? The content list isn't generally comprehensive and all the subscriptions seem to come with SQL Server 2000.

Email Subscriptions: Changing From Address For Different Subscriptions On Same Server
Jan 18, 2007I doubt this is possible, but can someone think of a way to change the email address used for sending report subscriptions based on the report or subscription?
It's a need that I've heard from a number of different clients. Scenario: a company has one reporting services server with reports running from numerous departments. Report subscriptions are sent to internal and external email addresses and there's a business need to use different "from" addresses based on the report (or audience).

Subscription to "Transactional Publication with Updateable Subscriptions" works only one way. Changes take effect on subscriber, but the subcriber is unable to update data on publisher.
I have Sanpshot Agent process running under SQL Server Agent service account with login 'sa.' All agents are running at the Distributor (Publishing Server.)
The subscriber is unable to connect to the Distributor using the SQL Server login.
Following is the error message I get:

One Or More Subscriptions Have Been Marked Inactive. Drop And Re-create All Subscriptions For This Node...

We periodically get the following message in our three server peer-to-peer transactional replication environment:
"One or more subscriptions have been marked inactive. Drop and re-create all subscriptions for this node that are failing with this error."
What causes a subscription to be marked inactive? What properties or settings can be adjusted to minimize or eliminate this occurrence?
Everthing seems to be running OK and then we get the message. It afflicts the higest change volume publication on our slowest overseas server.

I get the above error which I noticed is a solution in the forums for SQL Server 2000 but I am running SQL 2005 SP2. I can send an email subscription with a Link only but I can not send an email subscription along with a report. Sounds like the same problem??
My system is running in a DMZ and I am attempting to email outside that DMZ, I'm running on a MS Server 2003 Service pack 1
Can this be the same problem??

Having a problem with email subscriptions in SSRS 2005 running on Win2003 server. The email subscription is attempting to email an excell attachment of the report. The report uses a shared data source with stored credentials. Configured email in Reporting Services config manager to use SMTP server OurServer.OurDomain.com Even wrote a test vb.net program to send email using that SMTP server and was successful - yet Reporting Services subscription fails with following error:
Failure sending mail: The report server has encountered a configuration error. See the report server log files for more information.
Combed the Reporting Services error logs but found nothing pertaing to email - SMTP - Subscriptions or anything close - I'm stuck but we really need this as I am emailing 3 reports daily by the manual process of running the reports - exporting to excell - and emailing - UHG!!

Impersonation Error With File Share Subscriptions In RS 2005
Apr 9, 2008When publishing to a file share using Reporting Services (no service pack 2 yet) the following error occurs:
Failure writing file NewFile.mhtml : An impersonation error occurred using the security context of the current user.
I have tried publishing to both Windows XP and Server 2000.
The Reporting Services box is Server 2003.
Publishing account is Local Administrator on both Reporting Services and target boxes.
Logon Locally has been granted on both Reporting Services and target boxes.
Any thoughts?

Does anybody have experience with e-mail distribution using Data Driven Subscriptions?
I want to build the following:
I have a table with names and e-mail addresses of people in my data warehouse. This table changes over time, more people will be added and data (for example e-mail addresses) can change.
I made 1 report that I want to mail to all the people in the table. This report contains 1 parameter; the e-mail address of a person.
So basically it€™s quite simple: I want to e-mail all the people in the table a personalized (by the parameter) report each month.
Can anybody tell me how I can achieve this with SSRS 2005(SSEE)? I know how to make a data driven subscription but how can I make one pending on the data in a table?
Any help would be appreciated. I will write a blog about this when I've done it so your input will not get lost.

Report Server Subscriptions - Job Owner
Jul 23, 2005Hi,I am trying to setup a subscription but I keep running into problems.I setup the subscription fine, I see that it creates a job in SQLServer. It shows a specific domain account as the owner and I can'tfigure out why. The problem is that this account is in a differentdomain and it's having problems authenticating when it runs. I did usethis account for the services and whatnot when I originally set it up,but I've changed the account that SQL Server and SQL Server Agent rununder, but it still uses this account as the owner. The only otherthing I can think of is that the database owner ofSystemCenterReporting is still this account. Is this why it's listingthis account as the owner of the job? HOW To Pull Merge Subscriptions In SQL Server 2000 Using Stored Procedures ??? (URGENT)
Dec 15, 2005I've successfully carried out pull subscription using Wizard in SQL server 2000.
But NOW its the time to deploy the project & I've to do it programatically........
i tried to use the default stored procedures like "sp_addmergepullsubscription ", "sp_addmergepullsubscription_agent ", "sp_reinitmergepullsubscription ", with respective parameters.
Then using replmerge.exe i tried to execute the batch file But could not succeed......
Can anyone guide me from the Basics ??? (i knw the Replication Architecture its heirarchy....but have NO idea of performing it Programatically......!!!!!!!!)
by BASICS, i mean......how should i execute the resp. stored procedures with what parametes & the order i should follow in order to successfully pull a merge subscription in SQL server 2000.
if a Sample code is mentioned as example, would be better for me to understand....

May 15, 2006We are running Reporting Services on an Application server, side by side with a web application. The server exists outside our corporate domain due to the fact that our external vendors need access to the application (not the reports). Our web app uses a third party mail system to funnel the application email thru our corporate exchange server. Since Reporting Services is not connected to our domain, it can not authenticate to send reports via e-mail subscriptions. I am looking for alternatives to make this work from outside the domain.

However, when I go to http://localhost/Reports/, I can see my reports uploaded, but the subscription links are not available. In Properties, I cannot see "Execution" either.

I have generated a report and uploaded that report to reporting services. It works fine. I have created a subscription for the same report and scheduled the job to run the report. The report is not running.
I have tried the same report in different server and it works there.
I have sql server 2000 and sql server 2005 installed in the same server. I am using sql server 2000 reporting services but 2005 database. Will that creates a problem?

Jan 24, 2008Per BOL, I can assign the following task to a role, and if I give role to SSRS user, they can see ALL SUBSCRIPTIONS. If so, WHERE do they see the ALL SUBSCRIPTIONS? Will they show when selecting MY SUBSCRIPTIONS, or some other way?

I am full rights admin on the box, and yet to find way to see ALL SUBSCRIPTIONS as well.

writing to file share also but the subscription I created to write to file share was not fired. I checked with log files but could not find any errors regarding the subscriptions. Can you please help me on this?

Nov 23, 2007At the moment, the only way (that I know of) to test a subscription seems to be to schedule it a few minutes ahead in time and wait for it to happen. Dies nayone know if there are plans for and "Execute" or "tTst" button? It would be nice to have one.

Help! After searching through the forums and the web in general, I cannot find a reference to this problem. On a new SBS 2003 R2 server, with a clean install of SQL Server and reporting services, I have reporting working fine except that the reports have no Subscriptions tab visible. Also when I go to "Site Settings" and "Manage Shared Schedules", I get an error:
"The feature: "Scheduled report execution" is not supported in this edition of Reporting Services. (rsOperationNotSupported)
Interrogating the SQL Server, I find that the edition is reporting as Workgroup, which should have scheduled report execution.
Please help as this is a big problem for this server deployment.

I need to get rid of all subscriptions (including cleaning up all associated sql jobs) for RS 2000 and 2005.
We have hundreds of reports , going through them 1 by 1 is not an option.
When i look at the system tables, i join Subscription to Catalog, but i find reports with subscriptions in the system tables but when i go to Report Manger there is no subscription for the report.
In a nutshell , how can i see all valid subscription for all reports in RS, how can i delete all of them and make sur eall sql jobs associated etc are deleted.???

Where in the backend database can I find who a subscription was sent to? I know in the report server database the subscripitons table has a description and last status field, but these fields are cutting names off when the list is large. Is there any other place where this information is stored?

Can't Creat Subscriptions
May 11, 2006We're new to SQL Reporting Services and have a new SQL 2005 server.
I'm having a problem activating scubscriptions.
- "New Subscription" is greyed out in Server Management Studio.
- Subscribing via the browser, even as the Content Manager, allows you to fill in the form for the subscription but then reports the following error;
"The current action cannot be completed because the user data source credentials that are required to execute this report are not stored in the report server database. (rsInvalidDataSourceCredentialSetting)"
Any suggestions?
Found the problem.
When configuring the Data Source the "Impersonate the authenticated user after a connection has been made to the data source" button should be off.

Sep 6, 2006I'm working with SQL Server 2005 Developer Edition and am trying to set up a new subscription to a database I created using Management Studio. In the step where you are prompted to choose the Subscriber Type I only have two options: SQL Server 2000 and SQL Server CE.
Why don't I have the options to choose SQL Server 2005 and SQL Mobile 2005?
