SQL Server 2008 :: Balance Sheet Query Showing Wrong Amounts On VAT Accounts Only
May 21, 2015
I have one query which is pulling Balance sheet amounts from SAP Business One database. The query is giving the correct figures for the rest of the accounts except for the VAT Input refundable account 123600 and VAT Output Payable account 221400. The query sums up totals at Title account level(FatherNum) and the above accounts are the title accounts:
SELECT CAST(T0.TransId AS Varchar(30)) AS TransId, CASE WHEN t3.FatherNum IN ('100000', '350000') THEN '-3 OK' ELSE CAST(T0.TransType AS Varchar(30))
END AS TransType, CAST(T0.BaseRef AS VarChar(30)) AS BaseRef, T0.RefDate,T0.Number as Docnum, DATEPART(Month, T0.RefDate) AS JrnMonth, T0.FinncPriod, T1.Account, T1.Debit,
T1.Credit, T1.Debit - T1.Credit AS JrnAmt, ISNULL(T1.SYSCred, 0) AS SysCred, ISNULL(T1.SYSDeb, 0) AS SysDeb, T1.ShortName, T1.Ref1, T1.Ref2,

Hello Friends,
I have a doubt regarding balance sheet calculation in my Software. I am using a stored procedure for these calculations. I have some commands for calculation as given below:
/******************************************************************/
DECLARE @car_req FLOAT
DECLARE @amt_gen FLOAT
DECLARE @amt_shp FLOAT
DECLARE @amt_sho FLOAT
DECLARE @bal_gen FLOAT
DECLARE @bal_shp FLOAT

)
INSERT INTO #Temp (cargo_required, amount_general, amount_ship, amount_shore)
SELECT 5000, 1500, 1450, 1490
UNION ALL
SELECT 0, 3500, 3500, 3500

SELECT 7000, 4500, 4550, 4560
UNION ALL
SELECT 0, 2500, 2000, 2000

SET balance_general = @car_req - amount_general
,balance_ship= @car_req - amount_ship
,balance_shore= @car_req - amount_shore
WHERE rec_id = @tab_id
END
ELSE

SET balance_general = @bal_gen - amount_general
,balance_ship= @bal_shp - amount_ship

INTO @tab_id, @car_req, @amt_gen, @amt_shp, @amt_sho
END
SELECT * FROM #Temp
CLOSE temp_cursor
DEALLOCATE temp_cursor
DROP TABLE #Temp
/***************************************************************/
This is what acutally I am having in my stored procedure except the temporary table. The values which I am inserting here will get from my actual tables. What I need is to calculate balance. If you run this script you can see how the balance is calculating using the cursor.
I want an efficient way to calculate the same. I know cursor is not at all good option in stored procedures. Do you have any Idea to make this script in an efficient and simple way?
Thanks and Regards

I've just checked the properties of one of our DB's running on SQL2008 & the properties within SSMS are showing 0.00MB space available.
The DB is setup using the simple Recovery model & is being backed up nightly.
The Data file has been set at an intial size of 9449MB with Autogrowth by 10 percent unrestricted growth.
The Log File has been set at an intial size of 14199MB with Autogrowth by 10 percent unrestricted growth.
I have checked the SQL logs and no errors are being reported. There is 79.8gb available on the partition where the DB resides.

Several apps connecting to a SQL 2008 server show the users having a hostname of "Various" when doing an sp_who2 or looking at relevant DMVs.
I joined dm_exec_sessions to dm_exec_connections and was able to get the IP addresses and they resolve back to real clients. So why they'e not displayed and I see "Various" instead?

My FactEmployeeTable showing 13 rows of data related to employees, but i used a bridge table for connecting project and employee dimensions. In the ProjEmpBridge table i mapped only 6 employees data to the proj's data. When dragging projet name and employee name it is showing data related to 6 employees but grand total showing 13 as the result. I dont know why it is showing 13 instead of 6. Can anyone please solve this issue.

Hi
I installed RS 2005, SP1 and then the rollup fix 2153 however; if I run http://server/reportserver or view the reportserver log file, it shows version 2047 which is the SP1 version. I have added the tail end of the rollup hotfix log file which shows I have installed it.
Is this a known issue?

I've got a partitioned table where I am trying to switch the first partition into a staging table, merge the first boundary and later drop the file and the file group.
This is my starting point:
boundary_idBoundary_valuePartitionNumber
11/09/2012 0:002
21/10/2012 0:003
PartitionNumberPartitionRowsFileGroupName
1799AdtLog_Archive_201208
2300AdtLog_Archive_201209
After I switch partition 1 to a staging table I run:
ALTER PARTITION SCHEME My_ps NEXT USED AdtLog_Archive_201209;
and
ALTER PARTITION FUNCTION My_pf() MERGE RANGE ('2012-09-01 00:00:00.000');
I expect the 300 records from the former 2nd partition to stay in AdtLog_Archive_201209, however I get this:
PartitionNumberPartitionRowsFileGroupName
1300AdtLog_Archive_201208
2310AdtLog_Archive_201210
How do I make sure that the data stays in AdtLog_Archive_201209 file group?

I've configured log shipping to use for DR purposes. I'm concerned that the physical location of the secondary is mis-reported by SQL Server Management Studio.
Viewing the secondary location (with Studio DB_name Properties Files) shows the path of the primary DB (I expected it to show the path of the secondary).
This SQL command shows the correct/actual paths of both primary and secondary DB's when run on their host servers.
SELECT name, physical_name AS CurrentLocation, state_desc FROM sys.master_files
Is this just cosmetic?
Here is an Example of how the Studio shows the incorrect path for the secondary.
Example:
(Primary) servername=prodSrv, DBname=aquaDB, Actual_Path=G:aquaDB, SQL-studio-Properties-Path=G:AquaDB, sys.master_files Path=G:AquaDB,
Log shipped to
(Secondary / Read Only) servername=DRSrv, DBname=aquaDB, Actual Path=F:aquaDR, SQL-studio-Properties-Path=G:AquaDB(WRONG), sys.master_files Path=F:aquaDR

I cannot get a consistent answer as to how many domain accounts would be suggested in a SQL Server 2014 installation. Previously the recommendation was a separate account for each service to provide isolation and minimum permissions for each account. It seems from what I've read that a single domain account would have something added to make it unique from SQL Server's perspective. Several still advocate multiple accounts. I don't know if they are doing so because that's the way it's always been done or if there is still some compelling reason to do so. I don't want to create unnecessary accounts simply because something is "ideal."

Set up a trace with the events RPC:Completed, SQL:BatchCompleted, SQL:BatchStarting, and SQL:StmtCompleted.
When I issue the statement: SELECT * FROM XyzView there is nothing captured in Profiler. If I script out the view and then execute the select statement that defines the view, it does show up in Profiler.
I've tried adding a lot of the other events, i.e. SP:StmtCompleted and the various other StmtStarting events and the trace still does not capture anything.
Am I capturing the wrong events or is this known behavior? My goal is to see what the overhead is for using a view versus persisting the results of the view as a table and referencing that instead. The view in question is against static data, joins 9 tables, and is referenced a lot.
I can use the stats generated when I execute the select that defines the view but I still find this to be curious behavior so I assume I'm doing something wrong.

Peter Piper #Error #Error peterpiper@mycompany.com #Error
Donald Duck #Error #Error donaldduck@mycompany.com #Error
etc.
When I run the subreport directly, it correctly returns all the values:
Peter Piper 123-345-6789 Calgary peterpiper@mycompany.com T
Donald Duck 987-654-3210 Calgary donaldduck@mycompany.com F
Here are the details on SQL Server 2008:

why the #Error is showing up the the main report?

I have a relatively simple SQL Server 2000 database which I amquerying from a VB.NET application. The query is very simple, such asSELECT * FROM tblSystems. Let's say there are 10 records in the tabletblSystems. I expect to get 10 records from this query, and sometimesdo. But for some reason, I start getting 0 records from my app. If Irun the same query in SQL Server's Query Analyzer, it works fine. IfI reboot my machine, then it seems to work fine for a while, thenstarts giving me bad results again. I am running my app on the samemachine as SQL Server, although I can connect to my database remotelythrough my app, and I get the same results either way. Anyone seenanything like this? Was this fixed in a service pack (I'm using SP1,and don't want to install a newer one unless it's a known fix)? Thanks,Andrew

I have query that calculate a running balance, but I need to reset that balance when it reaches 240. Then start calculating the balance again from that value. For instance, let's see we have the following table:
YearAmmount
200049.95
200179.92
200279.92
2003114.99
2004120.00
[Code] ....
If I run the following query to get the running balance:
SELECT Year,
Ammount,
SUM(Ammount) OVER(ORDER BY Year ROWS UNBOUNDED PRECEDING) AS RunningTotal
FROM _YearlyTotals
I get:
YearAmmountRunningTotal
200049.9549.95
200179.92129.87
200279.92209.79
2003114.99324.78
2004120.00444.78
[Code] ....
I'm looking to reset the Running Total if it reaches 240, and continue calculating from there: Something like this:
YearAmmountRunningTotalAdjustment
200049.9549.9549.95
200179.92129.870.00
200279.92209.790.00
2003114.99240.00-84.78
2004120.00240.00-120.00
[Code] ....
Here is the code to create the table and insert data:
CREATE TABLE _YearlyTotals(
[Year] int NULL,
Amount numeric(18, 2) NULL
) ON [PRIMARY]
INSERT INTO _YearlyTotals([Year],Ammount) VALUES (2000,49.95)
INSERT INTO _YearlyTotals([Year],Ammount) VALUES (2001,79.92)

Hi ,
I am executing my query and writing it to an excel sheet by choosing "query" results to an excel sheet. It does not format them well. I have trimmed my fields too. There are about 10 fields in the database and I need to show them in the excel file all the ten fields adjacent to one another. Is there anyway I can format them other than the programming aspect.
Thanks

I'm in the process of migrating a lot of data (millions of rows, 4GB+of data) from an older SQL Server 7.0 database to a new SQL Server2000 machine.Time is not of the essence; my main concern during the migration isthat when I copy in the new data, the new database isn't paralyzed bythe amount of bulk copying being one. For this reason, I'm splittingthe data into one-month chunks (the data's all timestamped and goesback about 3 years), exporting as CSV, compressing the files, and thenimporting them on the target server. The reason I'm using CSV isbecause we may want to also copy this data to other non-SQL Serversystems later, and CSV is pretty universal. I'm also copying in thisformat because the target server is remotely hosted and is notaccessible by any method except FTP and Remote Desktop -- nodatabase-to-database copying allowed for security reasons. My questions:1) Given all of this, what would be the least intrusive way to copyover all this data? The target server has to remain running and berelatively uninterrupted. One of the issues that goes hand-in-handwith this is indexes: should I copy over all the data first and thencreate indexes, or allow SQL Server to rebuild indexes as I go?2) Another option is to make a SQL Server backup of the database fromthe old server, upload it, mount it, and then copy over the data. I'mworried that this would slow operations down to a crawl, though, whichis why I'm taking the piecemeal approach.Comments, suggestions, raw fish?

HiI have a VB.net web page which generates a datatable of values (3 columns and on average about 1000-3000 rows). What is the best way to get this data table into an SQL Server? I can create a table on SQL Server no problem but I've found simply looping through the datatable and doing 1000-3000 insert statements is slow (a few seconds). I'd like to make this as streamlined as possible so was wondering is there is a native way to insert all records in a batch via ADO.net or something.Any ideas?ThanksEd

Hello,Currently we have a database, and it is our desire for it to be ableto store millions of records. The data in the table can be divided upby client, and it stores nothing but about 7 integers.| table || id | clientId | int1 | int2 | int 3 | ... |Right now, our benchmarks indicate a drastic increase in performanceif we divide the data into different tables. For example,table_clientA, table_clientB, table_clientC, despite the fact thetables contain the exact same columns. This however does not seem veryclean or elegant to me, and rather illogical since a database existsas a single file on the harddrive.| table_clientA || id | clientId | int1 | int2 | int 3 | ...| table_clientB || id | clientId | int1 | int2 | int 3 | ...| table_clientC || id | clientId | int1 | int2 | int 3 | ...Is there anyway to duplicate this increase in database performancegained by splitting the table, perhaps by using a certain type ofindex? Thanks,Jeff BrubakerSoftware Developer

The server being used is a Intel Xeon E5310 Clovertown 1.6GHz 2 x 4MB L2 Cache Socket 771 80W Quad-Core 2U Passive Processor.
The problem is that this server is slowing down everytime about 1000 users log into a forum which the server is running. I think that the server should be able to handle this many users with no problems but I am not sure if that is the case.. The problem is probably something to do with the SQL of the server I am guessing. The server is not mine but I want to help the owner of the server as well as the users who are trying to access this forum but cant because of this server issue. If I was able to get the SQL would I be able to fix this problem? I doubt you need this but the server url is www.smashboards.com
I am fairly new to servers and have never really set one up myself yet. Forgive me for my lack of knowledge about them.
-Thank you!

I have visual studio 2005 and sql server 2005 with integration service installed on my machine. Couple of days ago, I installed visual studio 2008 professional. When I go to create SSIS project I dont see it in visual studio 2008. What do I have to do to make it appear in visual studio 2008 so that I can create SSIS projects.
Thanks.
