SQL Server 2008 :: Creating Multiple Charts Based Off Of Main Chart

I have this main chart setup. It pulls data from a query based on the selected parameters.
I want to create multiple charts for every catagory in the result set.
On the main chart there is a catagory called "Missing".
I want a chart for this category to display when the main chart is loaded. So below the main chart it would show a chart for each of the categories on the main chart.
Basically this report returns information on a certain part number displaying its problem types. Then I want it to create other charts for each problem type displaying the problem sub-types.

With Report Builder, I created a basic chart using the chart Wizard..
I am wondering If I can create some 5 charts on a Single Page(Webpage), like a Mini Dashboard.
Can someone please guide me in this regard ?

I am using a matrix to display current and historical financial data. To do this, I am using 5 different datasets. Each dataset contains 1 row of data for a specific year for a specific account.
Now that problem I am having is displaying this data in a chart. When I create a new chart, it asks which dataset I would like to use. I do not want to use any specific dataset, I want to get chart's data from the matrix. Is this possible?

Hello,
I need to know what means are available to change the Minimum and Maximum Y-Axis scale values rather than leave them simply as they are in the properties.
Right now whatever min/max values I enter into the scale for the Y-Axis are unchangeable.
I need to be able to change the min/max scale values based on the value of the data at run time.
Any help is appreciated.

I am creating a program that will take a master database and create separate databases for class room training.creating my own app to do this since it will have other stuff to do.i will have a master database that i will need to create multiple copies of. 2-20 copies, it is about 7GB large. it is used in a classroom training course for our company software. it will also copy a folder on the server onto multiple subfolders.each computer in the classroom will access its own copy of the database/windows folders.
What i am looking for is a fast/reliable way to create the multiple database copies. then when the training class is over and a new one is getting started, we will run my program to reset everything back to start.Should i detach/copy/attach or create a master backup and restore it 20 times. What kind of user access pitfalls will i need to look out for.

My application uses 2 databases from 2 different server. When i create a report model in business intellegence development studio I can only create 1 datasource for each database, and 1 datasource view for each datasource. Then when I create a new report, I can only use one datasource.
Is it possible that my report can be built on more than one databases?

Hello,
Say there are 10 retail store locations that need to push their daily sales to the main server at the head office.
What techniques are used to accomplish this? I'd imagine the transaction rows would have to be some sort of a GUID.
What options are there? What techniques are used to ensure each stores orders have indeed been pushed to the main server?

I am trying to insert bulk data into main table from staging table in sql server 2012. If any error comes, this total activity is rollbacked. I don't want that to happen. I want to know the records where ever the problem persists, and the rest has to be inserted.

Hello,
I am attempting to create a line chart for a report.
Are there any detailed white pages that discuss this particular chart type in detail? So far most of the documentation I have seen fails to cover the extent of the properties available in a chart and the terminology is unfamiliar to me.
What I need to know is how to integrate the chart into an existing table and within a group, plus be able to change the y-band scale to match the particular data being returned by that grouping.
Is this something better suited towards a subreport inserted into the detail band or inserting a rectangle then the chart itself forgoing the use of a subreport?
Any documentation would be appreciated, step by step approaches would be even more helpful.

I have a Matrix table that expands to the right when choosing an amount of months to be shown. Under this matrix I have to Charts. The two charts are situated together, that is no space between them, and to the left of the report.
Now, if I choose a lot of months, say three years the matrix diagram will be huge to the right. The problem I have is that the second diagram, the one on the right, moves to the right depending on how big the report gets, and this is not good at all. The two charts are supposed to be all the way to the left.
How? Why does the right chart move?

Hi,
I am upgrading all my access reports to reporting services. One of my access reports, contains a chart which is set a a multiple chart (so I can see a chart of data for each day in the data set). Is it possible to do the same using the SQLserver 2005 chart component?....I cannot see an obvious button to press which makes a single chart a multiple one.
If this is not possible in vanilla reporting services, can anyone suggest a thrid party add-in that will rovide the functionality I want? (cheaply lol!)

I need to update multiple columns in a table with multiple condition.
For example, this is my Query
update Table1
set weight= d.weight,
stateweight=d.stateweight,
overallweight=d.overallweight

where table1.state=d.state and
table1.month=d.month and
table1.year=d.year
If table matches all the three column (State,month,year), it should update only weight column and if it matches(state ,year) it should update only the stateweight column and if it matches(year) it should update only the overallweight column

Greetings!
I would like to create a database for keeping track of payroll data for employees where the supervisors (job coaches) on our workshop floor can use a Pocket PC device to record the hourly employee data on the fly. Then at the end of the day, the supervisor can place the device in a cradle of some sort and synch the newly entered data into the main database.
I'm guessing that SQL Server Compact edition would be perfect for this type of task? Is that correct? Can someone give me recommendations on how to go about setting this up? What should I use as the main database? SQL Server? Access? Any advice is appreciated!

I want to display the total no. of Addition, Removals and Relocations during the past 3 months in a paticular Area.
I have written the query for this.

The query works fine and has been tested. Now I want to display this in chart format.
The display should be in a chart format, one for each area showing a bar for each RequestType.
I have placed "TotalCount" in the Data Fields section and ReqType in Category fields. How do I use the Filter to set an expression so that it displays the data in a seperate chart for each Area.
I tried using =Fields!Area.Value and set it to Area1 to display only Area1 values, however the preview shows nothing.
Plz help me out.

Hi, has anyone been able to implement something like this?
I have two data sets
1) List of all stores
2) Table containing the following fields: store, sales as of end of quarter, quarter end date
I am creating a graph that would track the trend of sales quarter per quarter for each store and would need to have an individual graph for each.
Is there a way to dynamically do this rather than creating an individual recordset for each store?

I am about to rebuild all my indexes on a database that is very heavily fragmented. In looking at the report, seems that 80% or more tables are 90%+ fragmented.
My understanding is that fill value value is used for performance reasons. Our shiny new backend SAN is 100% SSD. If solid state can provide a sub-millisecond response, is fill factor still necessary at the cost of additional space being used used?

I'm looking to build a report that is basically a series of line charts that is plotting a value over time. I can accomplish this one chart/dataset at a time, but I believe with 'List's this can be achieved in a more automated fashion.If I have some data similar to this:
Area_ID, Location_Name, DataValue, ReadingDate

I want the charts grouped by the Area_ID, and then each Location_Name is a Series in that chart. So in this example, I would end up with 2 charts (Areas 1 & 2), each have 2 series (Area 1: Site1, Site2 and Area 2: Site3, Site4)Is it possible to build this with a list? or do I need to structure the data differently?

We had a requirement that need to sum the data based on quater we will be having 12 months data in the system for an year suppose we have 12 records for 2014 year. jan month sales data should be same when we were in feb month it should sum jan+feb sales and should show in sales column whereas we were in march month it should sum jan+feb+mar sales, then same for next quater also apr month it wil be same value in may it should be apr+may in may sales value etc ....
We will be having date column values as 201401,201402,.....
How can we implement in sql sever performance should be good.

I am pulling down out of range values from a single table on one database to a different table on a different database on a different server (one i have full access to). Basically, it looks something like this:
id1 value1 prev_value1 value2 prev_value2 date prev_date
id2 value1 prev_value1 value2 prev_value2 date prev_date
id3 value1 prev_value1 value2 prev_value2 date prev_date
all the "prev"'s are null. I want to do one do one query that will get me the previous values and dates for each id from the original database. how to do this.

I have a table like the following (with much more data, but the concept is the same) with Dates and Actions for People and a column called Action with beginning Dates and end dates.

I need the query to be like this. The idea is to have the query grab the next 'END' not all Ends, which my attempts have done i.e. I get not just the closest end to the begin date, but ALL Ends with the same Person.
