SQL Server 2008 :: Query To Check Downtime In Production Lines
Feb 3, 2015
I'm trying to run a query to check the downtime in production lines, but if a line has assigned more than one cause for the downtime it repeat the info for each cause.
This is the code.
SELECT D.Line AS Line, D.ProductionLine AS ProductionLine, D.Shift AS Shift, D.DownTime, CONVERT(VARCHAR(10), D.DatePacked,101) AS DatePacked, AssignedDowntime, (D.DownTime - AssignedDowntime) AS NOASSIGNED,
R.Enviromental,R.Equipment, R.IT_Systems, R.Material_External,R.Quality,R.Material_Internal,
R.Method,R.PreProduction,R.People
FROM (
SELECT Line, Shift, DatePacked, SUM(Cast(Downtime AS INT)) AS AssignedDowntime,
[Code] ....
I'm expecting that if is more than one "Down Reason "it will include in the same line. At this moment if i have more than one reason it create a line for each one for example:
If i have a total Downtime of 50 minutes and they are assigned 10 for itequipment, 30 by testequipment and 10 assigned to quality issues i will have and output like this:
We are adding 4-5 indexes to one database and dropping 2 unused indexes. I don't have proper testing environment. How to monitor these indexes changes? Do we need to run any baseline but we don't get load all the time same load all the days
Production and development servers are on different domains and they do not trust each other. How do I import data from the table t1 from a database db1 in production and load it into table t1 inside database db1 in development?

To find continuous date, you look at the beginning date in row 1 and end date in row 2, then if no break in dates, row 2 beginning date to row 3 end date, if no break continue until last date There could multiple dates up to 12 which I have to check for "no break" in dates, if break, display beginning date of last continuous date.
I need a query to find out the server uptime and downtime of the server from MOM database, i don't know in which tables MOM actually stores this infomation.
I need this very urgently.
Thanks in advance
You can use this code to find out the information stored in the MOM tables:- ############################################################################ create PROC [dbo].[SearchMyTables]
Our database crashed this morning and went into recovery mode.how I can track the progress of the recovery to determine how long it might take? The error log shows that it started up all the databases, then shows the recovery messages fr the msdb database, then shows that sql server is ready for client connections. I don't see any messages about my database recovery or the number of transactions to roll forward or background. If i run the sys.sp_readerrorlog and search for my database name, the only line returned is the starting up database message.
I do expect the database to take a while to recovery as it is about 8TB, there is plenty of free disk space about 3TB.The database started recovery while a transaction log backup was running so that backup failed, the last transaction log backup was taken 2 hours before recovery started. The last full backup completed about 5 days ago. The transaction log backup occurs every 2 hours and is typically around 16GB.
i have 70 SQL database servers and i setup DB Mail on the 70 Servers, i want to know is there a way to find the status of all the jobs which i assigned the DB Mail and if its working/failing... is there a script i can run on powershell or SQL to find out that information
I am working now on optimization of an update query for a particular table and I want to measure the number of page splits after each update. How to check it?
I have groups of records in a table, and I would like to set a necessary condition on each group. The condition is that EXACTLY ONE of the records in each group has a flag field set to True (bit = 1). I can naturally write triggers for update, insert and delete events that test for such a condition.
Something along the lines of this condition:
(select count(ClovekAutoID) from TableOfClovekNames tCN where JeHlavni = 1 group by ClovekAutoID having COUNT(JeHlavni ) > 1) = 1In fact,
I tried this just on whim, but naturally, the SS engine told me to go roll my hoop, that subqueries are not allowed in constraint expressions.
I have to figure out the items that Legal Name implies individual but Legal Entity Structure indicates a incorporation type. In this sample, you can see Alexander, Justin N. is my target. But my problem is how should I use a query to figure out which one is a individual's name? How should I write a function to check the name format (Last, First Middle)?
Legal Name ////////////////////////////////////// Legal_Entity_Struct
S & H Farm Supply, Ltd.////////////////////////////Company F.M.Abbott Power Equipment,Co.///////////////Company Ray's Dixie Chopper, Inc.////////////////////////// Company Alexander, Justin N. ///////////////////////////////// Company Alameda Power Equipment, Inc.//////////////// Company
I also have a RESOURCES table of phrases (for translation purposes) similar to this:
res_id res_lang res_phrase AccessDenied en Access Denied
For some rows in the resources table I do not have all language codes present so am missing some translations for a given res_id.My question is what query can I use to determine the RESOURCE.RES_IDs for which I do not have a translation for.
For example I might have a de, en, cz translation for a phrase but not a pl phrase and I need to identofy those rows in order that I can obtain translations for the missing RESOURCE rows.
I need to create a script task in sql server 2008 R2 to check if a file exists in a directory. For example, to see if output.dat exist under c:results. If the file exists, then send out an email stating the file exists, if not then send out another email stating the file does not exists.I noticed there is a huge difference between the script task in sql 2005 and sql 2008 r2.
How can we monitor the all tables in all databases and send notifications to the team.Is there a way to check to find the no of rows and size of a table last month and find out growth % now
Hye all, running WHS 2008, I try to install SQL Server 2005 with reporting services, but on install, in "components to install" wizard, the reporting services box is hided. I can't check this box :/ Do you know whats wrong ? if anyone knows the problem, thanks in advance.
My SQL Server 2005 Database was down last night. From logs I can find out below details only.
Code Block Date 11/30/2007 1:01:34 AM Log SQL Server (Archive #1 - 11/30/2007 1:01:00 AM) Source spid4s Message SQL Server is terminating in response to a 'stop' request from Service Control Manager. This is an informational message only. No user action is required.
Now I want to find out root cause for this.Who has stopped this service. And If services was stopped automatically then which program/service is resposible?
So Please suggest me how to do root cause analysis for this downtime.
I have a process that restores a production DB, overwriting the existing copy each night. I'd like to keep the solution "up" for as long as possible. And this'll be more important if I want to update it in the day (where there are more queries) too. The nature of queries thrown at the system is that there are about 20 per hour, it's underpinning a reporting system, it's not an OLTP system.
It seems to me I could restore the fresh DB copy into a holding DB, then rename it to the production DB name at the end of the process. The rename process should be pretty much instant.
But I need to think about detecting and waiting for queries to complete on the prod DB, before removing/demoting it (actually, I though to rename it, then reusing it as the next copy to update).
Whenever I open a new query I see 3 vertical lines on the screen, from top to button. Did a full reinstall, and they are still there. How to get rid of them?
I have two servers: one production and one development. There is a third party query that runs on both servers. Yes, the query is poorly tuned - I cannot change it. In production, it runs in 54 minutes. In development, I have tried to let it run for days and it never completes.
Here's what I have tried so far:
Compared the settings of production vs. development. The settings are very similar - the development box is larger, 4 times more memory.
Max degree of parallelism is the same on both boxes.
No compression on both boxes.
The production server is fairly busy, the development server is empty - this is the only process running on it.
Plenty of free disk space.
Updated all statistics on all databases touched by the query on dev.
Indexing is the same on both boxes.
The development box is running MSSQL2012.
The production box is running MSSQL2008R2.
What I've noticed:
The query consumes a massive amount of CPU time.
HUGE number of reads (16 million reads for 10 writes according to sp_WhoIsActive)
Largest wait types are CXPACKET, SOS_SCHEDULER_YIELD and TRACEWRITE respectively. wait_typesum_wait_time_mspct_wait_timesum_waiting_tasksavg_wait_time_ms CXPACKET4142765580.7176307423.5 SOS_SCHEDULER_YIELD24146944.7532725530.0 TRACEWRITE19856343.914831338.9
For the following query, I am trying to fetch only one row (no duplicates) for each BL_ID based on the logic that if I have multiple rows for one BL_ID, then only the one which has the largest LEG_SEQ_NBR should be displayed and the other rows should be ignored.
I am using the below code get to the above logic:
ROW_NUMBER() OVER (PARTITION BY ITIN.BL_ID ORDER BY ITIN.LEG_SEQ_NBR desc) AS RowNum
select * FROM ( SELECT TMIS.[BL_ID] ,[POL_NAME] ,[POD_NAME]
I want to take this XML and put it into a table with CustomerId and MatchingSetId. With this SQL, each MatchingSetId gets assigned to each CustomerId instead of retaining the relationships in the XML.
I have a person table with 1 billion rows on it, partitioned equally at 10 million rows per partition. The primary key constraint is a composite of an identity column and ssn( char(11) ) with the partitioning column built on the SSN.
This is built on my home grown workstation:
Microsoft 2008 Server 64 bit, Microsoft SQL server 2008 64 bit, Intel 2.66 quad core, 8 gb ram, Os/ raid 1, data on 6 drives hardware/software raid 50, transaction logs on 4 drive raid 10, all drives sata II/ 3gb burst.
I have updated statistics on the table and I have 2 queries that give clustered index seek , one never comes back before I get impatient, the other comes back instantly, and the showplan looks the same for both queries.
SELECT *
FROM Person
WHERE PersonKey > -1 and SSN = '219-09-3987'
AND
SELECT TOP 100 PERCENT *
FROM Person
WHERE PersonKey > -1 and SSN = '219-09-3987'
Incidentally the query with the top 100 percent is the one that returns instantly.
I am puzzled
1) Why the estimated plan looks the same
2) Why a top 100 Percent query is faster than one without it
SELECT CONVERT(char(3), dbo.tblCourses.CourseDate, 0) AS Month, YEAR(dbo.tblCourses.CourseDate) AS Year, SUM(CASE WHEN a.AttendanceStatus IN (9) THEN 1 ELSE 0 END) AS [City CCG Attended], SUM(CASE WHEN a.AttendanceStatus IN (3) THEN 1 ELSE 0 END) AS [City CCG DNA], SUM(CASE WHEN a.AttendanceStatus IN (7) THEN 1 ELSE 0 END) AS Cancelled, gp.CCGRegion FROM dbo.tblGP_Practices AS gp INNER JOIN
[Code] ....
I wanted to add anohter column where it counts the results of the followign query:
SELECT dbo.tblPatient.NHSnumber, dbo.tblPatient.DateOfBirth, dbo.tblPatient.DateReferralReceived, dbo.tblGP_Practices.OrganisationCode FROM dbo.tblPatient INNER JOIN dbo.tblGP_PatientLink ON dbo.tblPatient.PatientID = dbo.tblGP_PatientLink.PatientID INNER JOIN dbo.tblGP_Practices ON dbo.tblGP_PatientLink.GPPracticeID = dbo.tblGP_Practices.GPPracticeID LEFT OUTER JOIN dbo.tblAppointments ON dbo.tblPatient.PatientID = dbo.tblAppointments.PatientID WHERE (dbo.tblAppointments.PatientID IS NULL)
Using a 32-Bit SQL Server 2008 Express on my LOCAL PC. I downloaded the Advantage 8.1 OLE DB Provider and created a linked server to a REMOTE Advantage 8.1 database server. There is no data dictionary on the Advantage server.
Here is my linked server:
EXEC master.dbo.sp_addlinkedserver @server = N'1xx.1xx.xx.1xx', @srvproduct=N'Advantage', @provider=N'Advantage OLE DB Provider', @datasrc=N'1xx.1xx.xx.1xxeccET', @provstr=N'servertype=ads_local_server;tabletype=ads_cdx;'--tabletype=’ADS_ADT’ (this test works too) EXEC master.dbo.sp_addlinkedsrvlogin @rmtsrvname=N'1xx.1xx.xx.1xx',@useself=N'False',@locallogin=Null,@rmtuser='adssys',@rmtpassword=Null
Testing the link succeeds with above. Using “ads_REMOTE_server” instead of “ads_local_server” and the test fails. Here is my problem, using the following queries will not work. Perhaps it’s a permissions issue? When I specify my local credentials for the remote server in the linked server it still does not work.
SELECT * FROM OPENQUERY([1xx.1xx.xx.1xx], 'SELECT * FROM ActType')
OLE DB provider "Advantage OLE DB Provider" for linked server "1xx.1xx.xx.1xx" returned message "Error 7200: AQE Error: State = HY000; NativeError = 5004; [Extended Systems][Advantage SQL][ASA] Error 5004: Either ACE could not find the specified file, or you do not have sufficient rights to access the file. Table name: ActType SELECT * FROM ActType". Msg 7321, Level 16, State 2, Line 2
An error occurred while preparing the query "SELECT * FROM ActType" for execution against OLE DB provider "Advantage OLE DB Provider" for linked server "1xx.1xx.xx.1xx".
I am trying to look into a query thats taking 5 mins to execute on our production. Its an LinQ generated 6000 Line SQL query that the dev team is trying to put into production without any testing. They want me to add indexes to the database( brand new) so that the query will run fast. The execution plan really looks weird. So Just as a starter I tried to tune it using the DTA and I am getting the below error. I am using a .sql query file as the input.
The minimum storage space required for the selected physical design structures exceeds the default storage space selected by Database Engine Tuning Advisor. Either keep fewer physical design structures, or increase the default storage space to be larger than at least 441 MB.Use one of the following methods to increase storage space: (1) If you are using the graphical user interface, enter the required value for Define max. space for recommendations (MB) in the Advanced Options of the Tuning Options tabbed page; (2) If you are using dta.exe, specify the maximum space value for the -B argument; (3) If you are using an XML input file, specify the maximum space value for the <StorageBoundInMB> element under <Tuning Options>
My question is what value is the maximum value that I should consider adding per recommendation (2) in the above error.
I wish to make a query with if condition Implemented in a database sql server 2008 R2.
I would like to set up a system FEFO (first expired first out) based on batch number based on the dates of Lapsed but since I struggle to put my request in place. The principle of my request is:
if amount of movement (QTEMVT)> = amount entered by the user via a user interface then withdraws the amount entered by the user in the batch (NUMLOT) the amount of movement of the item that lapses the first (execution of my request). else if amount of movement (QTEMVT) <amount entered by the user then the difference between the amount entered by the user and the amount of movement (QTEMVT) (execution of my request) and the following conditions: the amount of movement (QTEMVT) = the amount of movement (QTEMVT) of this item stored in my database and the amount of movement (QTEMVT) <> 0 by taking the difference of the item requested directly from the batch (NUMLOT) of the item directly after lapses.
Basically I want to set up an item management query based on batch number and expiration dates.
ps: QTEMVT = quantity of the item stored in my database NUMLOT = batch number items DATFABRIC = manufacturing date items DATPEREMP = expiry date items
Here is my request:
SELECT f.NUMLOT,f.DATFABRIC,f.DATPEREMP,f.QTEMVT FROM FAIRE f INNER JOIN mouvement m ON f.CODMVT = m.CODMVT INNER JOIN TYPE_MOUVEMENT tm ON tm.CODTYPMVT = m.CODTYPMVT INNER JOIN SOUS_SITE ss ON ss.CODSOUSIT = m.CODSOUSIT INNER JOIN SITE s ON s.CODSITE = ss.CODSITE
My query is pulling to many records becuase of the last join. This table can have multiple registration files for a computer. I just want the latest one or last one insert which is based on dttRegistration. I thought a top 1 select and order by would do it, but now returns no computer names.
