Getting old favourite message 'Out of Memory' when running a horizontal clustered chart with Category: 200 items Series: 200 items per Category.URL... 'By default, the report server sets WorkingSetMaximum to the amount of available memory on the computer. This value is detected when the service starts.'
The report has been tried on 3 large servers with 30GB & 60GB memory. The report runs on a 2008 install but not a 2008R2 install. We've created a test report that simply generates a series of data 1-n for Category and 1-n for Series where n can be set by parameter - so the issue is not to do with the volume of data or the processing required by SSMS. The report runs if the data is output to a table rather than a chart - so the issue appears to be with rendering the chart.
The chart is rendered when the Category has 200 items with a Series of 150 per Category. The report fails with Category 200 items and Series 200 per Category.
I need to manage the height of an horizontal range bar chart inside a SSRS 2012 report.
In my report, I've a filter to read a particular data set. So, I could select five data rows or ten data rows or twenty data rows and so on. I'd like to maintain fixed the height of the horizontal bars while the number of data rows changes.
A customer would like to show speech bubbles with a short text above some bars in a bar chart (similar to the image shown below). Is this possible with SSRS?
We developed some of the chart reports. It is working fine when we preview the reports in the solution itself. After deployment to reportserver, when we access the same report, It is showing empty rectangle box (border of chart body). We have already checked data source/ Dataset mapping for the report.
I have a scatter chart in SSRS (SQL Server 2012, Visual Studio 2010) that is producing the following:
There are five data points on there, however the result set I am using has 10 rows (a 'Completed Date' of datetime and a 'Lateness' integer whose values can be positive or negative.
This is the Dataset and the results it produces:
SELECT DISTINCT TOP 10 a.ACTIVITY_NAME As [Activity Name] , ad.COMPLETED_DATE As [Completed Date] , ad.DAYS_LATE As [Lateness] FROM ACTIVITIES a JOIN ACTIVITY_DATA ad ON ad.ACTIVITY_ID = a.ACTIVITY_ID
[code]....
How can I tell SSRS to show every data point in my chart?
I have a large SQL 2012 table containing survey details. The number of questions vary in each survey and can range in number from as little as 10 questions to a maximum of 50.I need to adapt my crosstab code below to include a CASE statement that outputs a column (Q1, Q2, Q3 etc) representing the questions up to a maximum 50 questions (Q50) and to place the answer under the corresponding question column within each survey. Ideally I want to avoid having to write 50 CASE statements in my code. I chose the CASE statement method as I understand that the PIVOT option isn't as flexible,I have included some test data and the output should look like this:
I am currently trying to write a query that pulls a summation of item specific data from sales orders. For simplicity's sake, the column structure can be something like the following...
Item#, PoundsDuringWeekNumber (this would be the current week number out of the 52 weeks in a year and the pounds of the item during that week)
However, those are not going to be the only 2 columns. The idea of the query is that the user would be able to provide the query a date range (say 2 months) and the columns would then morph into the following...
Item#, PoundsDuringWeekNumber (current), PoundsDuringWeekNumber(current - 1), PoundsDuringWeekNumber (current - 2), etc. etc. PoundsDuringWeekNumber(current - 8)
Initial ideas where to create a function to execute the summation of the pounds during the date range of the week in question and execute it across the columns, but with the indeterminable number of columns, the query would not know how many times to execute the function.
I have SSRS report that has around 80+ columns. I have requirement where in dynamically hideshow columns in report based on user selection. I could able to do it by setting expression for "Visiblity" property and having report parameter thro' which columns to display can be choosen.
My problem is 2 points
1. fox example if columns 2 and 4 to be hidden, then there is an empty column between 1 and 3 and 5 columns. How to avoid this
2. When i export to PDF / Excel these spaces prevail.
i created the 1 report with pie chart ,but i am unable to display the values in the pie chart region inside the each colors
i am displaying the marks of a studnet ,but here
just like for each region we need the value HOW TO SET please help me in the properties or else (WHERE ?) ------------------------- 10 (red color) ------------------------- 30 (green color) --------------------------------
I have a stored procedure which returns a result set as follows:
(Headers)Total,WV1,WV2,WV3,WV4,WV5..... (Example data) "Some total name",1,2,3,4,5.....
The WV1, WV2, WV3 column names will be different depending on parameters passed to the stored procedure. In other words, the column names or number of columns aren't fixed (apart from "Total").
What I would like to be able to do is to just force SSRS to use the column headers supplied by the stored procedure as the column names in the report.
I have created a ssrs report using ssrs-2012 that contains 2 tables 2 pie charts and 1 line chart. But I am unable to see 2 pie charts and and 1 line chart after deploying the rdl in sharepoint server.
Why I am not able to see those charts, or sharepoint server will not support charts at all.
I need find out the number of columns in flat file before i process that particular file.I have file name in @filename variable and file path is @filepath variable. But do not not that how i will check the column name in before i will process that file.
@filePath = C:DatabaseSourceFilesCAHCVSSourceFiles And i am using for each loop container to read the file one by one and put the file name in @filename variable.and my file name like
Now what i have to do is i need to make sure that ID,Name,City,County,Phone is there in flat file.if it is not there then i have to send mail to client saying that file is not valid.I need to also calculate the size of flat file.
I have created an area graph. My requirement is the following:-
When the user moves his mouse over the graph on different points, the values corresponding to that points should be shown as a tool tip or as a textbox value.
Any idea to capture the values in the graph(Category,Series and Data values) and display them in a textbox or tool tip in a SSRS chart?
Is there a way to specify how many bars to display on a bar chart? And if the data set has more than the specified number of bars, then display another bar chart (on the next page) with the remaining bars?
I am trying to create a graph that consists of a bar chart and line graph - both to appear on the same graph.
They will show different information, but will essentially come from the same dataset.
So far I have not been able to achieve this and it would seem that you cannot mix chart types. This is very disappointing given the plaudits associated with this product.
Can anyone restore my faith in this product by telling me that the above is possible and, if so, how do I go about it.
we have a requirement that, when we click on the multiple series bars in a SSRS chart, it should drill through that chart and the detail report should filter based on these x axis and y axis of the bars selected.
As far as my knowledge, we can drill through the chart by selecting single series bar at a time in SSRS. Is there any way to acheive this multiple drill through of a chart.
When I export the report in excel format the chart is displayed as picture. I want it to be displayed as editable chart.Does Office Writer work in this situation and did anyone use Office Writer to accomplish same type of problem. Is there any other method or product we can use instead of the office writer.
I have a Pie Chart report that works well until Users discovered that when values are 0% or less across the chart, the Legend returns NaN. How do I format the Legend to return 0% instead of the NaN that Users do not want to see. Below is my express for the Legend Property="#AXISLABEL" & " - " & "#PERCENT{P0}".
series group : city (DimGeography.City) filtered by (DimGeography.StateProvinceName = "London")
I am getting different lines for different cities of London. That's working fine. But the requirement is i need to display one more line in the same line chart depicting/showing the sales for the "London" state as well.
Does anyone know if there is a way to dynamically set the chart type (i.e. pie, line, column, etc.) for your report in SSRS? I want the customer to be able to chose which type of chart they'd like to see.
I've looked all over the Internet and can't find anything.
Any help would be appreciated. Alan
Clarification: I guess I should clarify a little. I am using an ASP.NET 2.0 page written in C# and using a ReportViewer control.
More Clarification: The ReportViewer displays an rdlc.
I am currently designing a SSIS package to integrate data into a data warehouse fact table. This fact table has about 70 columns among which 17 are foreign keys for dimension tables.
To insert data in that table, I have to make several transformations and lookups. Given the fact that the lookups I have to make are a little complicated, I have about 70 tasks in my Data Flow. I know it's a lot, but I can't find a way to make it simpler. It seems I really need all these tasks.
Now, the problem is that every new action I try to make on the package takes a lot of time. At design time, everything is very slow. My processor is eavily loaded each time I change a single setting in one of the tasks, and executing the package in debug mode takes for ages. If I take a look at the size of my package file on disk, it's more than 3MB.
Hence my question : Are there any limitations in terms of number of columns or number of tasks that can be processed within a Data Flow ?
If not, then do you have any idea why it's so slow ?
I have a table of Customers & their data in about 20 Columns.
I have another table that has potential Customers with 3 Columns.
I want to append the records from Table 2 onto Table 1 to the Columns with the same names.
I've thought of using UNION ALL or Select Insert but I'm mainly stuck on the most efficient way to do this.
There is also no related field that can be used to join the data as these Customers in table 2 have no Customer ID yet as they're only potential Customers.
Can I just append the 3 columns from Table 2 to the same 3 columns in table 1?
Hello,I need a clarification on the mechanism of sql server fetches recordsto memory (buffer)Example: A Table ( Table1 ) having 10 Columns(column1,column2,column3,column4 etc)When SELECT column1,column2 FROM Table1 is executedWhether all columns are trasnferred to the server memory from the diskOR only column1 and column2 are read from disk to memory .My assumption is that, entire page (8K) containg the rows with all thecolunmns are transferred to the memory and from the memory the selectcolumns are displayed .Please confirmThanksM A Srinivas
In my Chart I have to keep the angel of the category field fix to 90 degree. When I do this the format of the Label does not look quite right.
I expect Below : I can work Out dd and mm positions ..what I am concerned about the date direction because of which its not quite readable. I have tried many format in label format but it is not giving expected result.
When I place an image WITHIN a chart, it appears in the correct location in DESIGN mode, however, when I preview it, my chart renders...and then the image renders NEXT TO the chart. I can't get the image to display WITHIN the chart area.
