SQL Server 2012 :: Editing Report Server Facets?
Jun 11, 2014
I am trying to edit the 3 facets found under Report Server while logged onto the server as an administrator. This is one of 3 (supposedly) identical Report Servers (Windows Server 2012 Standard - Microsoft SQL Server 2012 (SP1) - 11.0.3128.0 (X64) ) and the only one experiencing an issue. The images below show what happens when I try to change the facets to TRUE and their original values. Incidentally, when first hitting the facets, they are not set to true even though the config file has all 3 values set to true.

I am building a bunch of packages on our new server and all was going well until I edited the project using the client tools on my PC. I now receive the below error if I try to execute any of the packages on the server (all is still fine on the client). I have scoured the net but I don't seem to be able to come up with a solution. I have tried altering the folder & object permissions for my login (that created the project on the server and edited using the client) but I still get the error.

I am going to migrate a SQL server 2008 r2 reporting server into a newly installed reporting server SQL server 2012 sp2.
So this is a side by side upgrade. Both of the original and new server are standalone SQL servers without sharepoint.
And they also have db engine installed on the same servers which only have reportdb and reporttempdb.
step by step migration reporting server from 2008 r2 to 2012?

Because of the way in which a specific piece of code is written, I'm bound into using a WHERE clause for a report generation. Each Inspection generates a unique Inspection Number. Any re-inspection created from that inspection is assigned that Inspection Number and appended with ".A", ".B", ".C" and so on.
The problem is this: Each row's Primary Key is the "InspectionId" in "dbo.v_InspectionDetailsReports". I need to return not only the data related to that particular InspectionId, but also the data related to any previous related inspection. For example, if I have a main number of CCS-2012 and three re-inspections, CCS-2012.A, CCS-2012.B and CCS-2012.C, and I report on CCS-2012.B, I need all the data for CCS-2012, CCS-2012.A and CCS-2012.B but NOT CCS-2012.C.
I would prefer to not have to do everything in a WHERE statement, but my hands are a bit tied.
The "SELECT * FROM dbo.v_InspectionDetailsReports WHERE . . ." is already hardcoded (don't ask).
SELECT *
FROM dbo.v_InspectionDetailsReports
WHERE ( RefOnly = 0
OR RefOnly IS NULL
[code]...

I am seeing select * from sys.sysprocess where blocked<>0 is always the report server
ReportServer.dbo.GetSessionData;1 is blocked by ReportServer.dbo.WriteLockSession;1
We have different reporting servers using same database.
Is it require to rebuild indexes on report server and report server temp db on daily basis?

I have some software (written in Delphi 5) which has been working forseveral months without a problem.I have been given a copy of the database on our development server(SQL 7) and have pointed the software to this. So, nothing has changedwith the software. In theory the servers should be the same. However, if I try to make a small change to any record (as I would onthe 'live' system), I get an error stating that another user isediting the record. Now, I'm the only person with access to thisserver. So am I stopping myself I wonder ?If I create an ODBC connection to the database through Access 2000, Iget the same error. I feel I can reasonably assume that the softwareis not at fault.I'm sure it's something SQL based, whether it's an error orconfiguration difference, but I'm stuck.I've checked who is locking/blocking, and yes it will show me ashaving the record open, but this is me attempting to edit the recordso I would expect this.I can edit the table directly in SQL, but it takes 30 seconds or more, freezes EM and then allows the change. Table info below :if exists (select * from sysobjects where id =object_id(N'[dbo].[PostReceived]') and OBJECTPROPERTY(id,N'IsUserTable') = 1)drop table [dbo].[PostReceived]GOCREATE TABLE [dbo].[PostReceived] ([PostID] [int] IDENTITY (1, 1) NOT NULL ,[Type] [varchar] (100) NULL ,[ClientsName] [varchar] (100) NULL ,[DateReceived] [datetime] NULL ,[EnteredBy] [varchar] (100) NULL ,[AssignedTo] [varchar] (100) NULL ,[DateAssignedTo] [datetime] NULL ,[Adviser] [varchar] (100) NULL ,[TargetDate] [datetime] NULL ,[CompletionDate] [datetime] NULL ,[Completed] [bit] NULL ,[KeyAccount] [varchar] (100) NULL ,[Notes] [text] NULL ,[Specific1] [varchar] (20) NULL ,[Specific2] [varchar] (20) NULL ,[Specific3] [varchar] (20) NULL ,[Specific4] [varchar] (20) NULL ,[Specific5] [varchar] (20) NULL ,[ToDelete] [bit] NULL ,[EnterUser] [varchar] (20) NULL ,[Returned] [bit] NULL ,[ReturnDate] [datetime] NULL ,[ReturnReason] [varchar] (87) NULL ,[PrintAdviser] [bit] NULL ,[EmailAdviser] [bit] NULL ,[EmailSM] [bit] NULL ,[EmailRegionManager] [bit] NULL ,[ReturnText] [varchar] (150) NULL) ON [PRIMARY] TEXTIMAGE_ON [PRIMARY]GO(Yes I know about using Identity in the key, but it's on my list tochange before anyone says anything).

Hello!
We have a SQL Server table that needs to be maintained by the actuarial department. Therefore, I was going to have them make changes to the table using something easy like Microsoft Access 2000. When I go into Access and create an ODBC link to the table, I cannot change the data. (i.e. The insert new record feature is greyed out.) I CAN change the data via Enterprise Manager, so I don't think it is SQL Server security. Any other ideas?
Thanks,
Sharon

I have the following query that will serve as a basis for SSRS report
SELECT TOP (1000) d.Project_Name, d.Status, d.Country, d.Region, p.Period, p.Quarter, p.Year, d.Brand, d.Store_Opens_Actual, d.DA, d.DPN, d.StoreNumber,
CONVERT(VARCHAR(10), CASE WHEN ISDATE(d .Store_Opens_Actual) = 1 THEN d .Store_Opens_Actual WHEN ISDATE(d .Store_Opens_Forecast) = 1 AND
ISDATE(d .Store_Opens_Actual) = 0 THEN d .Store_Opens_Forecast WHEN ISDATE(d
[Code] ....
This returns a dataset, that I need to convert into a PIVOT table that should look like the attached spreadsheet.
Having trouble writing the PIVOT table query. I feel like I am missing something conceptually as I am not doing any summing or aggregation. I don't know if dynamics SQL is the solution here or which route to take. I don't know if there is such things as PIVOTING without aggregation. CROSS TAB came to my mind as well.

Is thisfeature still around? Seems like I have to go into the query anaylizer likemode to edit a view now. I am a total newbie to version 2005. Are there anyoptions I can set to make it behave the old way? All feedback isappreciated.TIA,~CK

I have a sql server 2005 database with Delphi 2006 in the front end and for querrying and reporting we use MS Access 2003 by connecting to this database via ODBC connection. I recently found out that the SQL Server 2005 data connected thus can be edited (updated) from MS Access. I do not want end users to modify/update the SQL Server 2005 data from MS Access while I also want them to have the ability to insert/update/delete rights using the appropriate application interface. For now, I am handling this by creating a user id that is not permitted to update, insert and delete and using the same account in the ODBC. Is there a way in SQL Server 2005 you can control insert/update/delete rights for all users that will be applicable only in the ODBC mode?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I am trying to create a calendar style report that will have 12 months (as columns) and store opening listing in rows. I have created a matrix, but the problem that I have is that the store opening listing displays in the right period, but they are not in any order. I would like to have the openings always on top, right under the header in the matrix. Now I have them scattered randomly all over the matrix. I tried numerous way of sorting and that does not work.
I am attaching a sample of what I would like to accomplish (months are columns).

Hi -
I got through the installation hoops for SQLEXPRESS Reporting Services in Vista and set up the default configurations in Report Services Configuration. I can explore the default directory for "Reports" in IIS7, but I can't browse in IE. I get the "The report server is not responding. verify that the report server..." message in the browser. This is after I migrated the app per the initial http 500 error using the preferred method - %systemroot%system32inetservAPPCMD.exe migrate config "Default Web Site/Reports".
I'm running Vista Ultimate, VS2005, SQLEXPRESS SP2. I've tried running IE as admin and also I've disabled UAC from gpedit.msc - ...Windows SettingsSecurity SettingsLocal PolicySecurity Options and unchecking UAC.
Thanks,
Mike

***SSRS 2000 ISSUE***
Hi All
Recently, several of our users have started to experience issues with hyperlinks in a report. I have created a textbox added navigation and selected the report to 'jump to' and the users are getting this error:
The specified server url does not link to the report server for this report manager or is not in the correct format
I have changed this to a an url but the error persists - there is nothing on google or MSDN that i can find which relates to this error so im kinda stuck with this one! The error is not affecting all users, just a small subset of them. Each of the users has different AD rights with one of them being a Domain Admin so i dont think it is a security issue.
the hyperlink which is being built is this :
http://<SERVERNAME>/SQLReports/Pages/Report.aspx?ServerUrl=http%3a%2f%2f<SERVERNAME>%2fReportServer%3f%252f<SERVERNAME>%252fS<REPORTNAME>
*obviously the <SERVERNAME> and <REPORTNAME> are not real server or report names - im just being cautious by not including this detail on a forum post.
Report manager is installed on several machines as part of a webfarm but this has not caused any problems in the past (i have over 200 reports under my belt thus far)
....Anyone have any ideas?

The problem is somebody has moved the database and changed some acounts and now I can not either get any report from the server or install my changes for reports. I used to run this commando to install changes for reports:

here is the error message i get when i try to install:
System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: The report server cannot open a connection to the report server database. The logon failed
when I browse to http://IpAddress:32808/reportserver I get following:
The report server cannot open a connection to the report server database. The logon failed. (rsReportServerDatabaseLogonFailed) Get Online Help
Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password.
at IIS Manager for default web site Enable Anonymous Access is checked and on the database server and the web.config file use same account and password.
but I heard that somewhere there is encrypted password that i have to change it too.

The error happens on Reporting Service version 9.00.3017.00 (the version we are running in Production). The Reporting Service and its database are actually resided in the same physical server. Can any one help?
Thanks!
