SQL Server 2012 :: Local SSIS Package Run And Export Data Except In Job
Jun 23, 2014Using server 2012 on local machine, I created an SSIS package that will execute in integrated services and Visual Studio solution but will not work when creating a job. Other solutions work well except when exporting data. The program pulls data from query and exports into .csv file. The messages I get are -
Data flow task 1:error:destination- Stage.csv failed the pre-execute phase and returned code 0xC020200E
and
Data flow task 1:error:Cannot open the datafile "pathStage.csv".

I have done some fairly basic things with SSIS before, but I have now got a requirement where I need to send an email to a particular email address if a table (NewSubjects) has any data in it, can anyone give me any pointers on how I can achieve this with SSIS.

Why Do I Get The Following SMTP Email Error In A SSIS Package
Mar 2, 2007I am running a SSIS package under a trusted account and I am running into a problem when I am executing a email task. The error is an operation timeout which was reported in the log. I am using windows authentication on the connection manager. Other email task configured the exact same way run correctly in the same run. Also when I execute task from BIDS the email is sent. Is there a bug in SSIS which would cause this behavior or some kind of exchange server configuration issue? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Greg

Jun 22, 2014I create a package that has a foreach loop container, inside the FE container the is a dataflow, script task and a file system task, on the outside of the FE loop I have a SQL execute SQL task. I had it working then it just stopped. Been looking to see why but can't see why, is there something I missed. I changed the onError script task event handler, to propagate = false, because the last file in the source directory is being written to until 11:59 pm and is locked, and I get error file is being used by another process. I am at a loss as to why it would just stop working.

1) if I changed the flat file values and name in source variable AND the table name should be also changed based on variable value .

Sep 18, 2014I have a 2010 SSIS package where I am reading csv files with different fields and formatted data, I have created separate packages for each file and I am formatting the data to fit the final destination tables data elements, I've been instructed to create 7 separate packages to read each file and the format the data from the 7 csv files, and insert into their table tbl1, tbl2, tbl3...etc then, I'm taking a execute sql task and wanting to insert the tbl1, tbl2, tbl3...etc into destination table that will be the final table for all reports and other uses.
1- should I create a ID?
2- these files will be read once a month
3- I want to append the data, not drop and recreate each run,
4- It's 2012 SQL and 2010 SSIS
Each csv file is in a different format, some have 15 columns, other have 8 I have to parse the data, in SP to align with the fields in the destination table.
5- Can I force RowID to be the next auto gen number from tbl1,for the start of insert for tbl2, then last row of tbl2 for insert of tbl3???
SSIS Package Not Using Configuration From SQL Server Table

Hello all,
I have an issue with my SSIS package not using the package configuration specified in my SQL server table. This is a simple scenario where I need to move data from a csv file to a SQL server table.
I have 2 connection Managers - one for the location of CSV file and another for the SQL database connection string. I chose to Enable Package configuration. Two configurations -
a. Environment variable to store the database connection string.
b. SQL server table configuration for flat file connection manager.
The location of the CSV file is dynamic..so the idea is to change the path as and when needed in the SQL table.
No errors..everything works fine except that the properties of the flat file connection manager is not being pulled from the SQL server configuration table. It uses the location I had specified during design time.
How do I force the SSIS package to use the configuration specified in the SQL table always.
I've been spending a lot of time on this with no success. Please help..

Jan 26, 2006I have two SSIS projects each with different packages. I have setup the packages with configurations stored in a SQL Server table in MSDB. When I create the configuration on the second project it overwrites all of the first projects configurations. Is there a way to to get two different project configurations stored in the same SQL Server table? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The issue I am having is that when I preview the flat file after selecting it as the datasource, some of the data that have the numeric file format are showing up as non numeric, for instance the value -1,809,575,682,700 is being viewed as ""1 and the package is giving a conversion error.

The package runs fine in debug mode.When i tried to run the same from SQL server agent it failed to aquire the connection. The OLEDB provider does not contain too much of information , ( connection string, initial catalog, blank user name and password).The same package executes successfully if i run using dtexec in BAT file.But if i use the dtexec in sql server job step as operating system command and try to run, the job will fail reporting " can not aquire the connection".

I am familiar with using Merge Join to combine the two tables (H & S in this case), but I'm not sure where I can use the ISNULL in the manner described above. Is there a way to do it in the Merge Join? Do I have to do it after the Merge Join?

I created a SSIS package which will generate an output file and place it on a remote fileshare location which will look something like this
\RemoteServerNameRemoteFilePath
The package is executing fine when I am executing it through BIDS or through execute package utility and writing the output file to remote file share location.
I created a SQL job for the package and ran the Job. Then, its throwing an error saying

Example:
Staging Table Name: TableA_satge (# of rows - millions)
Main Table Name: TableA_main (# of rows - billions)
Note: Staging table may have some data same as the main table.
Currently I am doing:
- Load data into staging table (TableA_stage)
- Remove any duplication of rows from the staging table (TableA_stage)
- Disable all indexes on main table (TableA_main)
- Insert into main table (TableA_main) from staging table (TableA_stage)
- Remove any duplication of rows from the main table using CTE (TableA_main)
- Rebuild indexes on main_table (TableA_main)
The problem with the above method is that, it takes a lot of time and log file size grows very big.

Would it be best to use an FTP Task or Execute Process Task (to call the batch file)? Jun 18, 2015We had a scenario where we used to run the Process from front end thru application. on the back ground the the process call the SP & from there it calls the SSIS package then again to SP.
after SSIS package ran succesfully it will be updated on a table with sucess then call the SP & deletes the entry from the other table but in one scenario Package was success but the entry was not getting deleted as the process takes almost 2-3 hours loading 60 millions records. but the process was running in SQL 2008 but once we upgraded to SQL 2012 its not working for one application. its not returning any error as timeout also. we tried changing the server level setting for remote query time out also to 0 but no luck .

I'm using SQL 2008 Februar CTP and trying to use SSIS for Data Source as described in http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms159215(SQL.100).aspx.
I've created SSIS package and preformed steps described in http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms345250(SQL.100).aspx (after fixing version to 10.0.0.0).
Now I got next error when trying to add SSIS DataSource (in Report Designer - Visual Studio):
Error messageThe data extension SSIS could not be loaded.
Please help.
