I have a data that with month values ranging from jan 2012 till july 2013 with some values associated with it.
I want to generate months automatically after july 2013 till december 2013 in sql something like the below one:
Is there a way in sql to do this?
I do appreciat your help, I want to run a store procedure which will show 6 months . I do not know how to write the procedure, here in the notion in my mind, I want to be able to pass an input parameter (month) to the procedure which will then run a query to show 6 months prior the input parameter month, how can I do that, thanks for your help

I am pulling down out of range values from a single table on one database to a different table on a different database on a different server (one i have full access to). Basically, it looks something like this:
id1 value1 prev_value1 value2 prev_value2 date prev_date

all the "prev"'s are null. I want to do one do one query that will get me the previous values and dates for each id from the original database. how to do this.

I have a table with dates and values and other columns. In a proc i need to get the result as Month and the values for all the months whether or not the data exists for the month.

What I want to do is to add more columns to the query which show the difference from the last month. as shown below. Example : The Diff beside the Sum_Stores shows the difference in the Sum_Stores from last month to this month.

The problem i run into is that in thesituation where two or more people have the same point value i need thecalculated rank column to display the same rank number (i.e. 4th orjust "4") I'm not sure how to to take into consideration the previousrow's point value to determine if it is the same as the current onebeing evaluated. I need wanting to assign a group ID to the data based on consecutive values. Here's what I need my data to look like:

You'll notice that there are only two values in DATA but whenever there is a flip between them, the GroupID increments.

I am pulling three columns with the same names from 8 different tables. What I need to display the date, machine & test name and count how many times a test was run on a machine for that date. I have a feeling this can be handled by SSAS but haven't built an analysis cube yet because I am unfamiliar with how they work. I was wondering if this is possible in a simple query. I tried to set something up in a #Temp table. Problem is the query takes forever to run because I am dealing with 1.7 Million rows. Doing an insert into #temp select columnA, columnB, columnC from 8 different tables takes a bit.
I have a table with PO#,Days_to_travel, and Days_warehouse fields. I take the distinct Days_in_warehouse values in the table and insert them into a temp table. I want a script that will insert all of the values in the Days_in_warehouse field from the temp table into the Days_in_warehouse_batch row in table 1 by PO# duplicating the PO records until all of the POs have a record per distinct value.

How can I update Table 1 to see desired results?
The objective is to identify orders where an order fee has been applied incorrectly. I have multiple orders per customer, my table contains an orderID and a customerID. Currently if the customer places additional orders before the previous orders have been closed/cancelled, then additional fees are being applied.
Let's say I'm comparing order #1 to order #2. I need to identify these rows where the following is true:-
The CustID is the same.
Order #2 has a more recent order date.
Order #2 has a FeeDate Before the CancelledDate of Order #1 (or Order #1 has no cancellation date).
So in the table the orderID:2835692 of CustID: 24643 has a valid order fee. But all the subsequently placed orders have fees which were applied before the first order was cancelled and so I want to update the FeeInvalid column with a 'Y'. The first fee will always be valid.
I think I understand why the code I am trying doesn't achieve the result I want but I can't figure out how to write it correctly. Below is one example of code I've tried and also code to create the table and insert some test data.

I found why the April month i didn't get the $20 because the startdate of my perks CTE '2014-04-03'. If it is '2014-04-01' then i will get the expected output.
But i should not change the the date on perks. How to neglect this date issue and consider the month instead to get the expected output.

I've SSRS sales report to which I need to pass the dates for previous month's start date and end date which I am able to pass using below code. I have a ssrs report which has a parameter start date.i have made 12 columns acc to client req which i cannot change:

These columns are dynamic acc to start date for which i have used this exp for first cell:
=monthname(month(Parameters!Startdate.Value),true) and for next 11 cells accordingly.
These 12 columns are grouped quaterly which i have made statically again for clien req which i cannot change so they are grouped staticaly by me in report like:

I am stuck on a query where I need to display all the month year values even if the corresponding count_booking values are NULL. The requirement is to display the 13 month year period from current date.
For e.g. if the date exists in the current month then starting from May 15 go all the way back to Apr 14.
My current query works in terms of displaying all the 13 months if the count_booking values exist for all the months. However, if some months are missing the values then those months don't show up.how to display all the months even if the values are NULL ? Query below:

I have the sample data below and like to show the void loss per month basis as below:
1) Allocate the amount from voidloss column between months based on voiddays:
for example for propcode 3698 the amount 13,612.56 needs to be divided between September and October based on the VoidDays. i.e of the 39 voiddays, 25 where in September and 14 in October hence 8726 will be allocated to September and 4886.56 to October
2) After allocating the amount sum the amount by controlgroup and total the voiddays per month. It will be great if we can divide the voiddays between months and sum them by controlgroup as well.
So in the end result we should have

I have a RS Matrix element where I am attempting to genrate an expression that uses a value from a previous column. I have had no luck so far...
Here's a brief example of the matrix that I am using:
=Fields!MonthName (my one and only Column Group)
=Fields!ProductName =Sum(Fields!Count) =DifferenceExpressionInQuestion
I gotta use a Matrix since the number of months is dynamic.
In my test, I have 12 month columns. Under each Month column is a subordinate Count and a Difference column. In the Difference column, I want to calculate the difference in the Count columns relative to the previous month (if the Count for Jan is 15 and the Count for Feb is 27, then Feb's Difference column should be 12).
So, I am stuck trying to generate an expression for the Difference column. This expression needs to refer to the Count of the previous month.
RS's Previous() function cannot be used in a Matrix (because that's the compiler error that I get when I try to use it).
Does anybody know how to do this???
Do I have to use custom code to do this???
If I can't do this calculation in a matrix, then what good is it???

I am working with a stored procedure that needs to roll up a week number column once a week - columns are numbered 1-10, 1 being this week, 2 being last week and so forth
Once a week the 10th column is deleted, the 9th becomes 10, the 8th becomes the 9th and so forth and the 1st is calculated the week numbers are getting all screwed up - and we think it's because one statement starts before the one before it completes the statements go like this:
delete theTable where week_num=10;
update theTable set weeknum=10 where weeknum=9;
update theTable set weeknum=9 where weeknum=8;
and so forth
is that the reason? is there any way not to start one statement until the one before it finishes?
