I'm using SQL Server 2012 Analysis services in Tabular mode and connected to Oracle Database and while importing, I'm getting below error after importing some rows.
OLE DB or ODBC error: Accessor is not a parameter accessor.. The current operation was cancelled because another operation in the transaction failed.
I couldn't decide where in the forums to ask this question.. So I hope there's someone here who can help or you could suggest where I might go.
I have a client with around 5 standard PCs in the office. They want an application to run the business and are trying to decide if SQL Server or Access is the best way to go. My suggestion has been SQL Server, considering the plans they have for the business and the software. But their main issue is the cost.
They don't currently have a Windows Server... Just a bunch of shared drives on win XP which suits them well. Can anyone suggest the database configuration they should be going for? Minimising cost is their main issue and they don't want to go through the trouble of setting up a full windows server.
Are there licensing and legal issues to install one of the workstations with SQL Server Express with a VB.Net application running on potentially 2 machines?
This function will return working hours between given 2 dates. This function assumes that the break is between 9:45 AM and 10 AM and that Lunch is between 12:30 PM and 1 PM. This function also assumes that the working hours are between 7:30 AM and 4 PM. There is a section for public holidays there. We have a table for that you might not so that piece needs to be fixed.

I need to be able to add minutes to a datetime value, which only cover working hours.
I have a holiday table as below:
Examples: (dd/MM/yyyy hh:mm) Date..........Description 01/01/2015 New Years Day 26/12/2014 Boxing Day 25/12/2014 Christmas Day 25/08/2014 August Bank Holiday
Our Business hours are 08:00-18:00 Mon-Fri (unless the day is in the holiday table)
I have tried to create a function to do this (fn_pp_AddMinutesWithinWorkingHours(@StartDate,@Minutes)) but I am unable to come up with a solution which factors in everything correctly.
I am trying to calculate the number of hours a device has been used and I cant find how. I need a query that calculated and does an average of the number of hrs used in a week.
I need only the count of databases that last fullbackup was older then 24 hours or null. and status is online. I have tried
SELECT Count(DISTINCT msdb.dbo.backupset.database_name) From msdb.dbo.backupset where datediff(day,backup_finish_date,GETDATE()) > 1 -- or is null and Database_Name not in ('tempdb','ReportServerTempDB','AdventureWorksDW','AdventureWorks') --online also group by Database_name, backup_finish_date
Tried using where max(backup_finish_date) < datediff(day,backup_finish_date,GETDATE()) .But get the aggregate in where clause error. get a count of databases with backups older than 24 hours not including the samples, report service, and tempdb. I would also want to put status is online but havent gotten the above to work so havent tried to add that yet.
declare @LastDate datetime SELECT @LastDate = max([LastUpdate]) FROM [exhibitor].[dbo].[blgBelongs] WHERE (([Table1]=@module1 OR [Table2]=@module2 )or ([Table2]=@module1 OR [Table1]=@module2 ) AND Exists (SELECT [Table1],[Table1ID] FROM [exhibitor].[dbo].[blgBelongs] WHERE table2=30 and table2ID=@dmn_ID))
Before I see @LastDate , I see this warning
Warning: Null value is eliminated by an aggregate or other SET operation.
In a t-sql 2012 query that will be updated in a stored procedure I am getting the following warning message:
Warning: Null value is eliminated by an aggregate or other SET operation. I would like to get rid of this warning missing without just turning off the warning messages.
I would like to change the sql so that it does not occur. The following is my new sql that generates the warning:
case when (coalesce(a.status,ae.status) = 'A') and (IsNull(ae.excuse, 'U') = 'U') and (IsNull(ae.code, 'DRC') = 'DRC') then
sum(DATEDIFF(minute,pm.startTime,pm.endTime)-coalesce(pm.lunchTime,0)-coalesce(a.presentMinutes,0)) else 0 end as DRCMinutes,
Hello,I need to create a column that will store hours bigger than 24. Forexample '25:00:00', '129:23:12', etc). That column will be used too, for perform calculations betweendatetime intervals: 'time'.In MySQL there is a datatype that perfect fits that necessity.Does anyone know what is the corresponding datatype in SQL Server? Thanks a lot!
I'm developing one leave application form in that I've declared "No of days"column as nvarchar type..If the user taking half(1/2) day leave then have to covert that 1/2 into 4 hours itseems..since I'm trying to display the table data on datagridview while displaying that half day in gridview again it has to conver 4 hours into 1.2 format..
My Table design: Create table Leave_Form ( Employee_id int primary key, Emp_Date date, Emp_name nvarchar(50),
Hello, I have this expression DATEDIFF(HOUR, startdate, enddate) which only shows the hours. I need to show the hours and minutes too , exp. 9.17. Any way to convert the expression to do this. The startdate and enddate fields are mm/dd/yyy hh:mms. I am using report builder.
I am trying to get this to work - but it only returns minutes & seconds:
Function Seconds2mmss(ByVal seconds As Integer) As String Dim ss As Integer = seconds Mod 60 Dim mm As Integer = (seconds - ss) / 60 Seconds2mmss = String.Format("{0:0}:{1:00}", mm, ss) End Function
Can anyone help me out? I am not that familiar with VB.
What is the proper way to ensure when pulling date between two getdates, that you include from midnight of the first getdate to 23:59 hours in the second getdate?
WD.WRKD_WORK_DATE and WD.WRKD_WORK_DATE between DATEADD(DD, - 11, GETDATE()) and DATEADD(DD, - 5, GETDATE())
I have the following code and the result set is coming out as nvarchar. So, when I create a report in SSRS, it is not formatting as a date.
, CASE WHEN isnull(cv2.Accepted,0)='True' AND cv2.Visit ='V2' AND cv2.StepNo='3' THEN 'Y' ELSE CONVERT(varchar,[dbo].[fn_Get_WorkingDays] (co.PlannedGoLiveDt, -10)) END AS 'System Verified'
Need getting data into XML format as shown in the last code block. The datatypes and table structures are pretty much fixed, but I can re-hash data into another Temp Table, CTE, etc..This is a server running SQL Server 2012, but I'd guess any version that understands FOR XML PATH should be fine.
Source tables and data if object_id('Tempdb..#Element1') is not null drop table #Element1; create table #Element1 ( [Attr1] varchar(10) ,[Attr2] varchar(4)
I am trying to find a solution to get the result set to fetch a particular string format from a table in my database, which has a column of NVARCHAR data type
INSERT INTO #ActivityComments VALUES('This is the study code for Field Phase S14-04932-01') INSERT INTO #ActivityComments VALUES('Phase reporting has the study S15-04931-01 which is obselete') INSERT INTO #ActivityComments VALUES('Phase running study code S14-04932-02 is not valid')
Based on the description below on average how many hours a month would it take to monitor and maintain the MSSQL Server databases?
Description of IT infrastructure. All Windows Servers and MSSQL Servers are up to date on patches and best practices.
Corporate site with 3 remote sites.
All remote sites have one DC and one MSSQL Server.
The corporate site has one MSSQL Server.
Replication is performed between the remote MSSQL databases and the corporate office MSSQL database.
There is no in-house DBA. All DBA services will have to be outsourced. I am trying to determine what is reasonable in budgeting for time involved for this service.
There is one project written in MS Access using Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) with the backend residing on these database.
The question is on average approximately how many hours a month would it take to monitor and maintain the health of the MSSQL Servers database by a MSSQL DBA. The DBA will not have to create any user reporting, queries, etc. Just maintain the existing MSSQL Servers database.
I am currently working for the Sybase to Sql Server migration project and have been able to test migrate few tables using SSIS. After migration, i was doing some data comparision and could see the date formats are different between Sybase and Sql server. However, there are no issues with data like day in sybase becoming month in Sql server except the formats are different.
Do I need to act on this date formats? Not sure if this would cause any issues in front end application that will consume sql server date data.
I am trying to load a fixed width text file using `Bulk Insert` and a XML format file. I have used the same process and XML file on another fixed width, except with less columns.
Error Msg 4857, Level 16, State 1, Line 16 Line 4 in format file "PATHCaddr.xml": Attribute "type" could not be specified for this type.
I am working on a code that will convert the query output into a html query output. That is the output of the query will be along with html tags so that we can save it as a html file.
The stored procedure that i have used is downloaded from symantec website and is working fine. Below is the code of that stored procedure.
/****** Object: StoredProcedure [dbo].[sp_Table2HTML] Script Date: 12/21/2011 09:04:30 ******/ SET ANSI_NULLS ON GO SET QUOTED_IDENTIFIER ON GO ALTER PROCEDURE [dbo].[sp_Table2HTML] ( @TABLENAME NVARCHAR(500), @OUTPUT NVARCHAR(MAX) OUTPUT,
[Code] ....
The code works fine and i am able to get the output with html tags. The problem occurs when i insert stylesheet in the code. I tried to enforce styles using a stylesheet for the table returned in my sql code, so that it will look good. below is the stylesheet code that i inserted between <head> and </head> tags.
If I run the procedure without the style sheet code, it works fine. but when i run the procedure with style sheet code i am getting the below errors.
Msg 105, Level 15, State 1, Line 98 Unclosed quotation mark after the character string '</table></body><'. Msg 102, Level 15, State 1, Line 98 Incorrect syntax near '</table></body><'.
[Code] .....
I checked the code and i am not able to find what is the mistake. I tried changing the quotation mark but it didn't worked.
Why am I getting message "A valid table name is required for in, out, or format options."
I used the syntax from a tutorial about bcp utility. I am trying to create a format file for flat file import and export.
My server instance is "stat-hpsqlexpress"
The database name is "STATRLO"
Owner is "dbo"
Table name is "PM-allactivity-emaillog_042315"
The bcp comand I am trying to run is:
bcp STATRLO.dbo.PM-allactivity-emaillog_042315 format nul -c -t, -f C:databaseActivity_c.fmt -S stat-hpsqlexpress - T

Yes I know the instance says sqlexpress...it was upgraded.
I.E. I WANT two columns C1# and C2#, where C1# contains data from 2015 and C2# contains data from previous year (2014). If 2015 data is not present, then C1# will contain data of 2014 and C2# will contain data of 2013.
The tables are what the tables are. Here is what I am trying to accomplish:
ID CODES DESCRIPTIONS -- ----------------- -------------------------------------- 01 Code1,etc Description1,Description2,Description3
I've found two different queries which return each code and associated description by ID in separate rows. Perhaps the next step is to aggregate from this?
I have data coming from a telephony system that keeps track of when anemployee makes a phone call to conduct a survey and which project numberis being billed for the time the employee spends on that phone call in aMS SQL Server 2000 database (which I don't own). The data is being returned to me in a view (see DDL for w_HR_Call_Logbelow). I link to this view in MS access through ODBC to create alinked table. I have my own view in Access that converts the integernumbers for start and end date to Date/Time and inserts some otherinformation i need. This data is eventually going to be compared with data from someelectronic timesheets for purposes of comparing entered hours vs hoursactually spent on the telephone, and the people that will be viewing thedata need the total time on the telephone as wall as that total brokendown by day/evening and weekend. Getting weekend durations is easyenough (see SQL for qryTelephonyData below), but I was wondering ifanyone knew of efficient set-based methods for doing a day/eveningbreakdown of some duration given a start date and end date (with theday/evening boundary being 17:59:59)? My impression is that to do thiscorrectly (i.e., handle employees working in different time zones, adjusting for DST, and figuring out what the boundary is for switchingfrom evening back to day) will require procedural code (probably inVisual Basic or VBA).However, if there are set-based algorithms that can accomplish it inSQL, I'd like to explore those, as well. Can anyone give any pointers?Thanks.--DDL for view in MS SQL 2000 database:CREATE VIEW dbo.w_HR_Call_LogASSELECT TOP 100 PERCENT dbo.TRCUsers.WinsID, dbo.users.username ASInitials, dbo.billing.startdate, dbo.billing.startdate +dbo.billing.duration AS EndDate,dbo.billing.duration, dbo.projects.name ASPrjName, dbo.w_GetCallTrackProject6ID(dbo.projects.descript ion) AS ProjID6,dbo.w_GetCallTrackProject10ID(dbo.projects.descrip tion) AS ProjID10,dbo.billing.interactionidFROM dbo.projects INNER JOINdbo.projectsphone INNER JOINdbo.users INNER JOINdbo.TRCUsers ON dbo.users.userid =dbo.TRCUsers.UserID INNER JOINdbo.billing ON dbo.users.userid =dbo.billing.userid ON dbo.projectsphone.projectid =dbo.billing.projectid ONdbo.projects.projectid = dbo.projectsphone.projectidWHERE (dbo.billing.userid 0)ORDER BY dbo.billing.startdateI don't have acess to the tables, but the fields in the view comethrough as the following data types:WinsID - varchar(10)Initials - varchar(30)startdate - long integer (seconds since 1970-01-01 00:00:00)enddate - long integer (seconds since 1970-01-01 00:00:00)duration - long integer (enddate - startdate)ProjID10 - varchar(15)interactionid - varchar(255) (the identifier for this phone call)MS Access SQL statement for qryTelephonyData (based on the view,w_HR_Call_Log):SELECT dbo_w_HR_Call_Log.WinsID, dbo_w_HR_Call_Log.ProjID10,FORMAT(CDATE(DATEADD('s',startdate-(5*60*60),'01-01-197000:00:00')),"yyyy-mm-dd") AS HoursDate,CDATE(DATEADD('s',startdate-(5*60*60),'01-01-1970 00:00:00')) ASStartDT,CDATE(DATEADD('s',enddate-(5*60*60),'01-01-1970 00:00:00')) AS EndDT,DatePart('w',[StartDT]) AS StartDTDayOfWeek, Duration,IIf(StartDTDayOfWeek=1 Or StartDTDayOfWeek=7,Duration,0) ASWeekendSeconds,FROM dbo_w_HR_Call_LogWHERE WinsID<>'0'
