How can I accomplish the above. I need to insert distinct column from TableA to RecordProcess and col1+'Tr' to recordprocessExt.I can do it with cursor. I don't know any other way.
Also, there are other columns in Table A. I am using sql server 2005.
I have a Job that creates .CSV files at predetermined intervals (the delimiter is a tabstop) and every 5 minutes I have to retrieve These files one at a time and Import them into the relevant database.
My solution was to create a list of the files and insert this list into a temporary table where a Cursor would extract each filename one at a time and insert that Name into a BCP Statement. The BCP Statement is constructed using dynamic SQL.
Here the Cursor:

Hi, it is few days I posted here my question, but received no answer. Maybe the problem is just my problem, maybe I put my question some strange way. OK, I try to put it again, more simply. I have few textboxes, their values I need to transport to database. I set SqlDataSource, parameters... and used SqlDataSource.Insert() method. I got NULL values in the database's record. So I tried find problem by using Microsoft's sample code from address http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.web.ui.webcontrols.sqldatasource.insert.aspx. After some changes I tried that code and everything went well, data were put into database. Next step was to separate code beside and structure of page to two separate files followed by new test. Good again, data were delivered to database. Next step: to use MasterPage, very simple, just with one ContentPlaceHolder. After this step the program stoped to deliver data to database and delivers only NULLs to new record. It is exactly the same problem which I have found in my application. In the ECASE table there is trigger to get the max value of case_id column in ecase based on project and increment one to that case_id value and insert into ecase table .
When we insert a new record to the ECASE table this trigger calls and insert the case_id column value.
When i run with multiple threads , the transaction is rolled back because of trigger . The reason is , on the project table the lock is happening while getting the max value of case_id column based on project.
I need to prevent the deadlock .
I try to do all insert-actions in one SP. But it doesn't work. I couldn't insert any values into the DB. Is this possible or the wrong way?

Attempting to build a report were you can place a specific code in the parameter field and it will return all row values based on that particular code. I have a similar report that works great, but the specific code is just in 1 column, the one I'm trying to create has the potential to have that code in up to 20 different spots. I have the report built, but the issue I'm facing is linking the parameter. Is there a way to link 1 parameter to multiple column options?
Here's an example:

Right now if I were to link the parameter to the Pend1 field, I would get every line I wanted that had Pend "123", but it would not include any of the lines where Pend "123" was in Pend 2, Pend 3, Pend 4, so on.
How would I link the parameter to more than 1 column so it would return all rows with a specific code no matter which Pend column it was in?

Is it possible to assign multiple columns from a SQL query to one variable. In the below query I have different variable (email, fname, month_last_taken) from same query being assigned to different columns, can i pass all columns to one variable only and then extract that column out of that variable later? I'm trying to checking my production table table_a against a working table table_b (which i'm downlading data to)Here are the collumns i have in table_a and table_bDescription | FundID (this is not my PK) | Money I'm running an update if there is already vaule in the money collumn. I check to see if table_a matches table_b...if not i update table a with table b's value where FundID match up.What i'm having trouble on is if there is no record in table_a but there is a record in table_b. I did tried the encryption on server "A" for database "AdventureWorks2012". Then I tried to restore to server "B". There was the certificate issue, and I thought "of course : it's encrypted ! Let's deactivate it". So here I go "ALTER DATABASE AdventureWorks2012 SET ENCYRPTION OFF".I look at sys.databases : not encrypted.I backup using no encryption, I verify using msdb.dbo.backupset : not encrypted.
I move my backup to my other server where encryption was never configured (so no certificate, nothing...), and I have the error :

I want to restore a database (from an encrypted .bak file) - but *not* over the live original if you take my meaning. Encryption is the standard AES-256 that comes with Sql Server 2014 btw. I don't want the original touched/altered in any way. Hi all,I have a table called Jobs, with fields PK auto increment job_id, job_name, date. I'm using the visual web developer, .net 2.0, sql server 2005.I'm trying to have an option in one of my forms that allows me to add Jobs for a specific time frame. Say I want to add a job called "JobOne" and that I expect this job to last 2 months, so I would like to add this "JobOne" from October 1st 2006 to December 1st 2006. Than in the table "jobs" I would see JobOne in October 1st, 2nd, 3rd... all the way to December 1st. I'm familiar how to insert single values from formviews, using sqldatasources but I have no idea how to insert something like this, so I was wondering if anyone out there could help.Thanks!

I have an exel spreadsheet with a very long list of towns. How can I import/insert that into my "Towns" table in sql express? I can't seem to find any way to import it and I'm not sure how to do multiple inserts.

What would be the best way to insert unique values into a table/unique column ?
I cannot make that table/unique column as indentity. Right now, I use a staging table with indentity column, insert rows then insert rows back to
final table.

I am trying to insert null values into sql server from my access from. I am using sql statement. But it says 'Syntex error in Insert statement'. When i remove null values it works fine? How can I insert null values into a table?

We recently had a problem with DB Mail. SQL jobs that sends an email succeeded but the email in the job fail to sent. There was a problem with the email server. The error is included. We fixed the problem with the email server. How can I get an alert when a DB Mail email fails send?

We are consolidating some old SQL server-environments from 'OLD' to 'NEW' and one of our vendors is protesting on behalve of the collation we use on our 'NEW' SQL server.
Our old server (SQL 2005) contains databases with collation SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS
Our new server (2014) has the standard collation Latin1_General_CI_AS
Both collations have CI and AS
From experience I know different databases can reside next to eachother on the same Instance.
The only problem could be ('could be !!') the use of TempDB with a high volume of transaction to be executured in TempDB and choosing for Snapshot Isolation Level ....
The application the databases belong to is very static, hardly updated, and questioned only several time per hour (so no TempDB issue I guess).

I need some clarification about adding file in to mirrored dataabse in primary server without downtime and breaking the mirror server.
In our environment we are using monutdisks in both the servers. in primary for ex we have F drive for data files under mount disk 3 in mirror server also we have same drive but in mount drive2.
As per my knowledge if it is same drives we can add the ndf files in the primary that will reflect on mirror. but in current situation i am confusing about mount points with different names.
