I have a T-SQL Statement Task to create table every time the package run. It doesn't return error but it doesn't drop the table either. The data is appended every time. The code is working fine in SQL server query window.
IF OBJECT_ID (N'M020_Vendor', N'U') IS NOT NULL
DROP TABLE M020_Vendor
GO
SET ANSI_NULLS ON
GO
I am trying to have my old DTS packages working on SSIS. The first basic package I have, simply copied all tables/views and sp from one database to another one, quite like a backup/restore.
I converted this DTS package onto dtsx, tried to run it in VS2005, and it appears that the package just bcp from source to destination without dropping the dest table first.
I have checked that the parameter dropObjectsFirst was set to 'true' and ExistingData was set to 'replace'.
From the profiler, it seems that the data is appended each time in the table.
I am sure there's a small workaround to make that package working!
I have an environment with MS-SQL Server 2014 and always-on availability group configured (on 2-nodes).
I'm writing a Powershell Script which removes the database from the availability group (on the primary server) and then SHOULD drop the database on the secondary Server.
That works most of the time, but not always...
When it fails I get the error message:
Cannot drop database "Customer_2" because it is currently in use.
When i check the secondary DB-Server (sp_who2) while the script is running, i see that there is a process for the DB "Customer_2" with Status="background", Command="DB STARTUP" and LastWaitType="REDO_THREAD_PENDING WORK".
As soon as the script fails, this process for "Customer_2" disapears.
This happens always only on the second database in the availability group.
Why is the process still there, even after I removed the database from the Availability Group on the primary node.
If I remove the database from the availability group manually, the "background" process on the secondary node for that database disappears..
I have this script in my database, but it always gives 2054 rows back and if I actually DO change something it doesn't even notice...
UPDATE a SET a.[omschrijving]=SP.[omschrijving] ,a.[verkoopprijs]=SP.[verkoopprijs] ,a.[gewijzigd]=getDate() FROM [artikelen] a LEFT OUTER JOIN [Hofstede].[dbo].[sparepartsupdate] SP ON a.PartNrFabrikant = sp.PartNrFabrikant WHERE ((A.omschrijving != SP.[omschrijving]) OR (A.[verkoopprijs] != SP.[verkoopprijs]))
I have a non-clustered index on a table. If I rebuild or reorganize it in SQL 2005, the total fragmentation percent reported by properties/fragmentation on the index stays at 33%.
Why doesn't the fragmentation go to 0% ?
If I totally drop/create the index, starts even higher, but beorg or rebuild simply goes to 33%. This even if using with use temp db for sort option.
I created a simple SSIS package that takes a Flat File Source (CSV file) and Imports it into a OLE DB Destination ([TestCSVImport].dbo.Table1). I have other CSV files I'd like to import, but I don't want to import entries where column "ordereID" (PK) are the equal. Just want to import the new data found in the CSV files. I tried adding a Lookup in-between the Flat File Source and the OLE DB Destination, but I'm not sure how to accomplish only importing new data.
After the incremental process and full process, SSAS doesn't drop the index files #.xxx.fact.map and #.xxx.fact.map.hdr in the file.0.dim folder. We now have all the versions from 3 to 5000 sitting in the folder. The DBA team only found this when the disk is running out of space recently.
We've already check the account running the SSAS has local admin to the server.
Is there any config setting that might cause this issue? If not, what could it be causing this issue.
I'm inserting from TempAccrual to VacationAccrual . It works nicely, however if I run this script again it will insert the same values again in VacationAccrual. How do I block that? IF there is a small change in one of the column in TempAccrual then allow insert. Here is my query
INSERT INTO vacationaccrual (empno, accrued_vacation, accrued_sick_effective_date, accrued_sick, import_date)
Hi,I found this SQL in the news group to drop indexs in a table. I need ascript that will drop all indexes in all user tables of a givendatabase:DECLARE @indexName NVARCHAR(128)DECLARE @dropIndexSql NVARCHAR(4000)DECLARE tableIndexes CURSOR FORSELECT name FROM sysindexesWHERE id = OBJECT_ID(N'F_BI_Registration_Tracking_Summary')AND indid 0AND indid < 255AND INDEXPROPERTY(id, name, 'IsStatistics') = 0OPEN tableIndexesFETCH NEXT FROM tableIndexes INTO @indexNameWHILE @@fetch_status = 0BEGINSET @dropIndexSql = N' DROP INDEXF_BI_Registration_Tracking_Summary.' + @indexNameEXEC sp_executesql @dropIndexSqlFETCH NEXT FROM tableIndexes INTO @indexNameENDCLOSE tableIndexesDEALLOCATE tableIndexesTIARob

Hello all, I have two mult-value parameters in my report. Both of them working with selecting one or more values. But, when I test using "(Select All)" values for both parameters , only one parameter works. The "available values" for these two parameters are both from the data set.
select distinct ProductType from Product order by ProductType
We are just looking to move to SSIS 2014 from 2008R2 however we have a number of packages which write to Sharepoint lists. The SHarepointDestination doesn't seem to work in VS 2013, any solution other than buying a third party connector.
I'm trying to create an SSIS package that will do a straight data copy between databases. The problem is that the underlying schema of the origin may change and the requirement is that the transfer be table driven. i.e. the tables that are copied are listed in a table and there should be no human intervention when the schema changes.
I'm moving data between SQL Server and SQL Azure, so backup and restore doesn't work. Has to be an SSIS package.
What's the best way to deal with a changing schema in an SSIS package? Can I delete and rewrite the underlying XML for any tables that change? Do I need to do it programmatically with C#? Do I need to create the package from scratch each time?
I have a job that runs an SSIS package. The job seems to be able to run through the package successfully, but at the end it errors out saying "The binary code for the script is not found. ...". The script referred to is at the beginning part (not the very first step) and should already be run.
The thing is, I can manually run this package on the server or visual studio without any problem. Also this job has been run on a regular basis without any issues on our old SQL 2008. I'm migrating this to Amazon Cloud SQL 2014.
Together with this package are other two very similar ones. They all work fine. I just can't figure out what can be wrong with this one.
Previously same records exists in table having primary key and table having foreign key . we have faced 7 records were lost from primary key table but same record exists in foreign key table.
I have a legacy table which name contains non-printable characters (CHAR(31), to be more specific). The non-printable character is beside a underscore, and I've discovered that the shortcut CTRL+SHIFT+_ shoots the CHAR(31) character (which means "US" - Unit Separator). The previous developer should've hit by mistake this combination, and created the table with this weird character on it.
When we issue a SELECT command against the table, it returns results. But when we try to issue any DDL to it (DROP, sp_rename, etc), it simply doesn't work.
Examples: DROP Table_Name; raises "Msg 15225 - No item by the name of 'Table_Name' could be found in the current database 'MyDB', given that @itemtype was input as '(null)'". sp_rename 'Table_Name', 'NewTableName'; raises "Msg 102 - Incorrect syntax near '_Name'".
I already duplicated the table with the correct name, and have corrected it on the referenced objects (SP's, Views etc). The remaining step is just dropping it from the database. when we copy+paste from SQL Server to Notepad++, it shows the hidden chacacter ("US") on the middle of the table name, beside the underscore.
I have an SSIS package authored in SSDT for VS 2013 that cancels itself immediately after validation completes and execution commences. This behavior occurs when executed either in VS 2013 or from within SQL Server. No error messages are thrown in either the debug window or the log output (log is capturing everything). The only thing that occurs differently on this package as compared to another package I am able to execute successfully is that a command line window briefly flashes when the package cancels itself—but it is gone so fast I cannot read it. The last several lines of the debug output are as follows:
----------------- Information: 0x40043006 at Merge Info, SSIS.Pipeline: Prepare for Execute phase is beginning. Information: 0x40043007 at Merge Info, SSIS.Pipeline: Pre-Execute phase is beginning. Information: 0x402090DC at Merge Info, All Users CSV [2]: The processing of file "C:...AllUsers.csv" has started. Information: 0x400490F4 at Merge Info, Lookup Org [47]: Lookup Org has cached 957 rows. Information: 0x400490F5 at Merge Info, Lookup Org [47]: Lookup Org has cached a total of 26719 rows.
[Code] ....
What circumstances an SSIS package would cancel itself without throwing any errors?
i m not able to start the SSIS service on my laptop . IT gives error saying SQL server integretion service 11.0 service on local computer started and then stopped . some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or program
i am not able to start SSDT . it gives error
microsoft visual studio is unabble to load this document to desigen integration service package in ssdt , ssdt has to be installed by one of these edition of sql server ; std enterprise, dev,or evloution

We are currently using 2008 environment. We do have an SSIS Package running. The package used to run everyday and take the production server full backups and restore into the another server. Then do some delete commands and do some updates in that database on that server (We have some sensitive data other than Production we have to run that scripts in any environment). After run all those delete statements another team will read the data from that database.
We are planning to migrate to 2014 and set up always on and use the replica as the source. In this case how the package will work?
How to change that SSIS package. With the 2014 always on we are directly reading the data there is no backups to restore then how to run the delete statements?
I am quite new to SSIS but managed to build a package which imports text files in to SQL. The text files are generated after users complete a manufacturing process on a machine.
The SSIS package is stored in the SSIS catalog and currently a SQL Agent tasks runs every evening to import new files that have been created during the day. Users have now requested the ability to run the import process as soon as they have finished their manufacturing runs as they may want to query the data to looks up stats etc.
What is the best way to do this considering all of the users are not SQL guys and wont have direct logins into the SQL Server or access to SQL Server Management studio. They will have access to the PC where the files are generated, so I ideally I need a batch file which they can just execute to import their new files.
I have seen lots of things on the web about running dtsexec but as the package is stored in the SSIS Catalog, how can I execute this remotely?
We've recently upgraded to SQL Server 2014, and are now using SSIS integrated with Visual Studio. We have a SSIS project which contains about 20 packages which are nested in Sequence Containers and executed concurrently. These packages have been set up as project references.
The problem is that when I press the start button to run the packages, they all light up green reporting completion before the data has finished loading into the SQL database. If I press the stop button without waiting a sufficient length of time, then not all of the data gets loaded. i.e. a certain number of rows will be missing from some of the SQL tables.
If I click through to the individual package items and check the data flow progress while running, some of the data flows appear to hang at a certain number of rows without ever reaching completion. The number of rows indicated in the data flow is incorrect - i.e. it will count up to ~150,000 and stay there indefinitely in the running state, when in actual fact there are ~500,000 rows to load.
To clarify, the main package will show all items green and display the "Finished: Success" message in the log window, however when I drill through to certain packages in the set, they'll be stuck in the yellow running state, with no way of knowing whether they've actually completed or not.
My current workaround is to just wait a certain length of time before pressing the stop button. This bug doesn't seem to inhibit rows being loaded - it just incorrectly identifies the point when the load finishes, causing people to terminate the load prematurely.
This issue only occurs if I run the project from the main package container. If I execute the child packages individually, they correctly report the number of rows being loaded and light up green once complete.
The following error occurred when trying to connect to 2012/2014 SSIS Server using SSMS remotely. Local connection works fine.Using the info from below link does not resolve the problem. Permissions are granted through DCOM. If this cannot be resolved, packages will have to stored on filesystem instead. URL....Connecting to the Integration Services service on the computer "" failed with the following error: "Class not registered".
This error can occur when you try to connect to a SQL Server 2005 Integration Services service from the current version of the SQL Server tools. Instead, add folders to the service configuration file to let the local Integration Services service manage packages on the SQL Server 2005 instance.
