SQL Server 2014 :: SSRS - Reporting Website With Login Details

Is there a way to find all SSRS scheduled reports details such as (Report Name, schedule time, mail IDs configured, etc.)?
We have many SCCM reports on SRS, and manual work will take very long time..
I need to remove username and password when start SSRS website.

When I add the action to open a sub-report, how do I pass in the parameter values for the group that was selected? meaning if in row group- I have company name, and column group I have job title, when the count gets clicked, i need to pass in the company name for the row that was clicked along with the column group. How can I proceed?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI found an article on the CodeProject website named T-SQL MapReduce. I'm trying to duplicate the SQL code there into a SQL Server 2914 Developer Edition database I've got, and also the C# code using Visual Studio. I've defined the user data types fine (e.g.: word_t, words_t and so on), but I got an error when I tried to create the UDF dbo.mapper from the page. The error I got was:
Msg 102, Level 15, State 1, Procedure mapper, Line 5
Incorrect syntax near 'CALLER'.
The SQL code I used is straight off of the page; it looks like this:
create function dbo.mapper(@documents DocumentsWithAutoIncrementIndexTable READONLY, @sep nvarchar)
returns @t TABLE ( wordindex int, word word_t )
WITH EXECUTE AS CALLER
What have I done wrong? I'm guessing that the author has done something like left off a variable declaration or something like that. what am I missing?
Indicators are not displaying when I deployed the report in report server and access that report using browser. I have checked this in both Internet Explorer and Google Chrome browsers.
Current Version Of SQL SERVER is : SQL Server 2014 (SP1 + Cumulative update package 1 for SQL Server 2014 SP1) has been installed.
But in development environment (SQL SERVER Data Tools for Visual Studio 2012 ) these indicators are displaying properly using Preview section.
I am trying to automate the setup of SQL server 2014 Standard edition with SSRS. To avoid SSRS being setup using the default port 80 for the webservice and report manager url's, I've chosen to install SQL server with the setting RSINSTALLMODE="FilesOnlyMode" and then use powershell to do the final setup steps. To setup the ReportServer database, I use the "GenerateDatabaseCreationScript" method available in the "MSReportServer_ Configuration Setting" class.
This succeeds without problems however when I use my browser to connect to the web service or report manager url's, I get a "rsInvalid Report Server Database" and a "rsReportServerDatabaseUnavailable " error, respectively.Running the stored procedure named GetDbVersion in the ReportServer database returns "C.0.9.45". If I delete the ReportServer database and then recreate it database manually with the Report Services Configuration manager, the same stored procedure returns "162".
So it seems to me there's a problem with the GenerateDatabaseCreationScript but I can't find any information on this. How can I automate the setup of SSRS and ensure it does not use port 80? There are many manual solutions involving multi-step GUI solutions but the key for me is to automate this with powershell which doesn't appear to be possible.
I installed SSRS 2014 Reporting Services on a 2008R2 Enterprise server. When I try to subscribe to a report (also SQL 2014), the default rendering is MHTML. I want to change this default to EXCEL.
I updated the rsreportserver.config file and restarted SQL Server Reporting Service. Now, the default rendering for a subscription is 'XML file with report data' which is the first <Render> data element. If I change
<DefaultRenderingExtension>EXCEL</DefaultRenderingExtension> back to <DefaultRenderingExtension>MHTML</DefaultRenderingExtension>
And restart SSRS Service, the default subscription rendering is MHTML.

In SSRS 2014 std (on a win 2012 server) the report controls display incorrectly in IE11. The save and several other features display on multiple lines instead of one line unless you are in capability mode. Also works fine on SSRS 2014 entr on win 2012 server.
View 7 Replies View RelatedIs there any way to get SSRS 2014 report viewer to run in standards mode? We currently host SSRS report viewer in a standards mode IFrame. Seems to work fine for all browsers but IE8. In IE8, the report detail is missing.
I'm guessing that SSRS Viewer on IE 8 requires Quirks mode.
I noticed this article which states that SSRS 2014 Viewer only works in quirks mode.

How do you get the SSRS viewer to run on IE8 in standards mode?
Oracle and Teradata are able to capture the windows/client login that connects to their database with a functionnal ID.I've searched around and I don't think MS SQL can do this...I administer SQL 2014 server and also SAS Enterprise guide product. I've created sql server logins for several teams so everyone shares the same sql server login which is used to bind the SAS library to my SQL server database.
However, when looking at activity monitor, I can't drill down to which user is executing a particular query. I only see the SQL login which is share amongs 200 other folks. On the other hand, when they connect from SAS to Oracle or Teradata, I can see the shared login + additionally their windows NT login used to connect to SAS which is awesome....they can't fool me by using a shared/funcionnal ID....i still see who's using that ID...

View 5 Replies View RelatedHi All,
I installed SQL Server 2005 SP2 recently. After that when I try to
deploy a solution in SSRS 2005, I get a dialog box with title:
"Reporting Services Login". It has my server listed as the first row:
"http://localhost/reportserver" and then it has two text boxes asking
for Username and Password.
I checked my IIS settings and only Integrated Security is checked for
the Reports Server folder (and for the entire website). I tried to
change that to Allow Anonymous Access = Checked, but still the same
problem.
Any ideas?
Thanks! GB
I have 3 SSRS 2014 (Dev, UAT and Prod). I would like to change background colors of each environment and customize the title 'SQL Server Reporting Services' to ' SSRS Development'.
I prefer to implement both, a background color change and a title change. The reason for this is to clarify to end users which environment they are working with.
Where can I make those minimal changes in SSRS 2014.
I wanted to make a login for custom content on my asp website. I installed 2005 sql, gave it a named instance(sql34). I set the connections to local and remote for tcp only in the "surface area config", and made the tcp enabled in "sql manager". All of the sql services are started. So i open up the "server management studio" and it prompts me for a connection. I sellect "database engine" because thats what i installed. I typed the server's name in the "server name" and select sql server authentication for the "authentication", and use my username and password for the login.
Then I get a message cannot connect:
the default settings sql server does not allow remote connections(provider:named pipes provider,error:40-could not open a connections to sql server)(microsoft sql server, error:2)
What is the deal with this?
Another problem was i saw the sql express does not integrate with the real sql 2005. So how do i make mywebsite's web.config(express edition) to integrate for my real sql 2005 server?

I'm a newbie with SQL Server Reporting Services. I've played around with creating reports and I'm now ready to move on with calling reports from my C# .Net website. Does anyone know of a good tutorial to get me started? I'm specifically interested in building the SQL string on the fly using responses from the my website user and then using that string to populate the report. Thanks!

I've run into a new problem with SQL Server 2005 (2008 wouldn't work and 2005 works fine).
I have the database up and running, it fully works, connected and everything couldn't be better.
The purpose of this database is to run through an external game engine. When the Database and server are typed in it should connect. However it says the login details are incorrect, I have tried every login detail available that it should be and they won't work. It never asked me to create passwords in SQL Server so I don't know how to find them. I've once again exhausted google with this problem.
I've attached 3 screenshots showing whats set up, it working and the engine failing to login, it does find the database though.
How can I find the passwords for the users of the database? I've looked everywhere even on the master database.
Our company website runs off of Microsoft SQL Server. Someone tried changing the 'administrative' password but the way that they did it locks us out of the database.
Under Enterprise Manager there is a Security group, underneath here is a login. The person reset the password here on the login id that is the DBO for our website's database. Underneath the database in Enterprise Manager the dbo uses this login id. Where else does the password need to get reset in order for that login id to access the database? We cannot set it back to the previous password because it is unknown.
When we go to our website we get the following error:
Error Executing Database Query.
[Macromedia][SQLServer JDBC Driver]Error establishing socket. Connection refused: connect

I am playing around in a test environment with SQL Server 2014. I have a question about the default location of the report server databases when you have multiple report server instances installed on one server.
I did a very simple install of SQL Server 2014 with the database and Reporting Services in Native Mode (install only) features selected. Accepting the default locations, I ended up with the following locations as you would expect:
C:Program FilesMicrosoft SQL ServerMSSQL12.MSSQLSERVER
C:Program FilesMicrosoft SQL ServerMSRS12.MSSQLSERVER
Running the Reporting Services Configuration Manager, I created the Report Server database. After creating the Report Server database, the related files will be located below in the SQL folder as I would expect.
C:Program FilesMicrosoft SQL ServerMSSQL12.MSSQLSERVERMSSQLDATA
Next I installed another instance, which I called Test, of SQL Server 2014 like I did above. I now have the following folder structure the Test instance as I expect.
C:Program FilesMicrosoft SQL ServerMSSQL12.TEST
C:Program FilesMicrosoft SQL ServerMSRS12.TEST
Running the Reporting Services Configuration Manager, I select the Test instance and create the Report Server Test instance database.
My first thought would be that the Test instance Report Server database would be in the following location:
C:Program FilesMicrosoft SQL ServerMSSQL12.TESTMSSQLDATA
Instead this database is located with the default instance Report Server database:
C:Program FilesMicrosoft SQL ServerMSSQL12.MSSQLSERVERMSSQLDATA
We are setting up a new reporting environment for our client and as part of the deliverable I need to achieve the following two things.
1. Most of our reports are snapshot reports and all the data needed gets populated into transaction DB tables from a batch program. Some of batches run monthly and others on request, we use a scheduling tool to run these batches. For monthly running batches since I know when they run, I have scheduled snapshot report for the respective dates. But the batch that run on request have no fixed schedule so my question : Is there a way I can invoke or kick off a particular SSRS snapshot Report as soon as the batch completes running. For example if a on-request batch program finishes running today at 6PM , I would like to create a snapshot report as soon as the batch finishes running. Is this achievable ?!
2. As I mentioned above most of the reports are snapshot reports and client wants Report history of 10yrs. We have about 170 reports on the whole which run monthly/daily/yearly. Is there a best practice known in maintaining all the reports and where to store them?
We are using MS SQL Server Reporting Services 2014.
Ive successfully cloned an SSRS VM Server within a scale out deployment to REPLACE a current physical machine. This wasn't too difficult.
The issue im having now is in creating a new SQL 2014 Environment with 3 SSRS nodes. Ive taken the time to build one up. Changed all my config files, installed all components etc & tweaks needed within my company...
I have now hit a brick wall though. Ive cloned this first server twice to give me 3 nodes. This is a new environment so the issue I have is that the rsreportserver.config files all now have the same InstallationID. I dont have any existing nodes to overwrite these files with. So when I attach the nodes to the database they will update the keys table with the same InstallationID as the first node and none will work.
Any way to force the SSRS setup to re-generate an installation ID - by repair maybe? Or is this something I can manually just make up?
The SSRS website is slow when accessing it the first time after a period of inactivity (30 min. or longer). What could be causing this and how can I make it fast all the time.

I need to grab the value of the ReportFolder built-in global filed to a particular report on Report Manager, i.e., the full path to a particular report, when the user runs/executes the particular report, SSRS. Once I get this I need to process the path and get the Parent folder to the report and pass that to a stored procedure to do some business logic.
