SQL Server Configuration Manager: Connection To Target Machine Could Not Be Made In A Timely Fashion

I have a SQL Server 2005 box that was moved from a domain environment to a non-domain environment and was never dropped from its original domain before moving over. Subsequently a new domain was created at the data center this SQL Server box now resides in. The machine was dropped from its old domain and joined to the new one.
All the while the service accounts were set to the local admin account. When I tried to start the Configuration Manager I got the message "Connection to target machine could not be made in a timely fashion.". I read some blog entries and tried changing all the service accounts to Local System and the error message still came up.
All of the SQL Server services run fine. It is just this management console that I cannot open. I wasn't with this employer when this box was moved to the data center so I do not know if it worked prior and there isn't anyone here that could give me its history.
I installed SQL 2005 Developer Edition on a Small Business Server 2003. It worked properly for a period of time. However, I cannot open the Management Studio today and it shows a message "Connection to target machine could not be made in a timely fasion.". Initially, I installed the SQL 2005 Evaluation Edition. After passing the evaluation period, I un-install the Evaluation Edition and then install the current Developer Edition. What's thing can I do?
Hello, I am not sure if this is the right forum. This is the first time that I have seen this error, No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it I have a web app that when some one inserts text in a text box and clicks a button it creates a new web page and a new table in the database. Up until this point it has always worked. A datalist returns the data. In the datalist there is a hyperlink that when clicked takes the client to the new webpage. But for some reason it is not working now and that is the error above. I am lost. Any help appreciated. Thanks Matt
I am working in a distributed environment, I verified msgs have been successfully send from server1 db1 to server2 db2, but I still get the following error msg from the sender server through SQL profile:
Connection attempt failed with error: '10061(No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.)'.
-> SQL Server 2005 Standard set as a named instance, runs as a local system -> SQL Server protocol enabled: TCPIP (configured to listen on port 1433 with use of dynamic ports disabled) -> Remote connections through the SQL Server Surface Area Configuration.
Server starts successfully.
But, I received the following error on trying to process a cube from BI studio is -
OLE DB error: OLE DB or ODBC error: Login timeout expired; HYT00; An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections.; 08001; TCP Provider: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it. ; 08001.
I have created an application using service broker.i have a source database which in a particular server say server A and want to send message to target database which is in another server say server B.

but when i am trying to send message from my source server to target server , i am getting the following error in sys.transmission_queue.

I am trying to start my SQL Server service and I get the above error. I am using Windows 7 32 bit. SQL 2008 R2 32bit. SQL has ran successfully for 2 years on this machine until a power outage the other night. Now I have this happening on two computers.
I have read every event viewer message up and down and searched Google for hours trying to find a solution. I have done so many things from changing dll's to reinstalling sql 2008 to trying sql 2012.
I uninstalled SQL2008 and installed SQL2012 and it had the exact same error message. It wont start that one process. I have read this forum and I see many instances of this issue being reported but none of them have been recent. I attempted to do everything the previous posts said to try and nothing has worked. I have tried to roll back using windows restore point, I have tried to change the servicespipetimeline registry edit in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControl. I have changed permissions.

I made a simple package that performs 2 Excecute SQL Tasks, one task does a select query on a SQL Server DB Table, the other task does a select query on an Oracle DB Table.
The package runs fine in BIDS when debugging, but when I deployed the package to a file system and added it to an sql server agent Job, it all went wrong ...
I tried the ms oledb dataprovider (ole db) for oracle but also the oracleclient data provider (ado.net) but the package always fails.

the OnError logrow for the package itself says almost the same.

Here's the deal.... I have a package the currently has an OLE DB Connection manager. I have an XML configuration file set up to acquire the connection string. That works fine. I have a package variable that contains the absolute path to the .dtsconfig file.
How can I get the connection manager to read the package variable (which has the path to the *.dtsconfig file) instead of the hard coded value?
Hello, I am new to SSIS. Could someone please tell me how to make the Connection Manager use the connection string from the configuration file? I am trying to have connection information set in one place for all the packages to use. I have already created a .dtsConfig file based on my existing Connection Managers. Do I need seperate dtsConfig files for each database?
I have just finished installing SQL 2005 Ent Edition on Win 2000 Adv Server, SQL2005 SP2, and SP2 Hotfix KB934458. After the installation, I could see and configure all services via SQL Configuration Manager and SQL Server Surface Area Configuration tools. This worked for a couple of days and now both configuration tools no longer detect SQL2005 components. SQL Server Surface Area Configuration issued an error that said "No SQL Server 2005 components were found on specified computer. Either no components are installed, or you are not an administrator on this computer. (SQLAC)". SQL Configuration Manager did not list any installed services. I don€™t know what caused this. Anyone has any idea? Please help! Below is the Installation Report which shows installed components.

I originally developed SSIS packages with the destination DB to be SQL Server 2005 for unit testing on my desktop. We are planning on deploying to Oracle. After changing the Provider and other attributes in the configuration file the package loads, however there are lots of issues. The primary one is that the mappings are gone. I'm not sure if that is the result of how the table names are stored "Oracle"."File" versus [SQLSERVER].[File] . Even after attempting to change the way the table names appear I still get the message "the external metadata column is out of sync with the data source columns". Then it lists all of the columns that need to be added.
Is there any way to accomplish this that you are aware of.
At one point in my package I call a simple web service that kicks off a process on a remote server using a Web Service Task . I need to be able to point the task at a test instance while I'm testing and a different one when it goes to production. The simple answer (you'd hope anyway) is to just store the ConnectionString for the HTTP Connection Manger in Package Configurations for TEST and PROD. I did this and when the package runs, the connection manager's connectionstring does get changed, but the web service task doesn't use this value. It uses the value defined in the WSDL file which in my case contains the URL for the TEST instance.
Am I missing something obvious? Do I really have to get the WSDLs from PROD and TEST and deploy both of them to the appropriate environment? What does the ConnectionString in the HTTP Connection Manager actually do then?

I've created an SSIS package to be loaded using my ASP .NET app. This package is kept within the application and loaded via Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Runtime.LoadPackage method.
My target machine does not have MS SQL Server 2005 installed. So what do I need at minimum to get this up and running? What components do I've to install or copy over?
I tried to copy just the class libraries across. I copied Microsoft.SQLServer.ManagedDTS.dll and Microsoft.SQLServer.DTSRuntimeWrap.dll into my bin directory but I got this error:

I installed Ms As 2005 and visual studio 2005 in the machine but i can see visual studio 2005 is working fine.but the problem is with analysis studio when i try to connecting to Analysis studio am getting error like - A connection cannot be made.Ensure that the server is running.
Please take me out from this hell. I created report using VS2005 Business Intelligence Project. It builds fine. I can also see data in the design time. But when I am trying to deploy it gives me this error.

I'm working through the SQL2005 Reporting Services Tutorial. When I try to deploy, I get the error "Connection could not be made to the report server." It appears that I do not have permissions to get to localhost/reportserver (I get a permissions error when just trying to get there directly from "run"). In another forum I saw several people having the same issue. One contributor said that the problem was solved for him by uninstalling SQL2005 and reinstalling using the local system account rather than a windows domain account. I tried that, but am getting the same error. Anyone know how to fix this?

I have sql server 2005 Business Intelligent studio on my machine and Report server on some other machine. I created one rdl file and tried to deploy it on the report server. I have checked the report folder name and everything. But the error mentioned in the subject is being thrown. Additional information is

Windows Server 2003 Standard x64 edition with Service Pack 1
SQL Server 2005 with .Net Framework 2.0 for 64bit machines.
I have a .Net application that uses assemlies that use COM references, so I have my application compiled with target platform x86 so that it can use COM Interop and can run in WOW64. All of my assemblies are compiled for x86 target platform.
We are using the same set of assemblies on 32bit machines and SQL server 2005 with 2.0 framework for 32 bit machines.
Now, I have one of my assemblies target platform x86, being used in SQL server 2005 on 64 bit machines using CLR. The assembly gets installed fine, but when I call the function I get following error on 64 bit machines only. 32 bit machines do not have any problem:

We are using the same exact steps but I get the above error in 64bit machines. I know if I had the asseblies compiled with AnyCPU, it works on both sql servers but then my application fails in 64 bit machines. If I compiled all my assemblies with x86 platform then application works but sql server functions stop working on 64 bit machines. Is there a work arount that I could use so that I don't have to create 2 sets of assemblies for application and sql server seperate.

We have build configuration setup for each environment that we automatically deploy to (DEV, UA, PROD 1, PROD 2, etc.) Â We've recently come across a scenario where one environment will now be running a different version of SQL Server than the others.
Is it possible to tie the Target Platform version to a configuration. Such that one configuration could target 2012 while another targets 2014?
I have an application ready to transfer to the web hosting server with MS SQL 2005. Database and tables were created with the VWD on the local machine (SQLEXPRESS). I am using MS SQL Server Managenemt Studio Express to create the SQL to add the local tabales and data to the hosting database. My connect to the hosting server is great. Problem: My connection to SQLEPRESS is good but it only allows me to map Database from this directory C:Program FilesMicrosoft SQL ServerMSSQL.1MSSQLData. I need to map to another directory as follows C:Documents and SettingsdflournoyMy DocumentsVisual Studio 2005WebSitescolumbushapps/app_data. So I can get to the tables I created locally. Also has someone put together a process to migrate from SQLEXPRESS (Local) to Remote or Production SQL 2005 or 2000.
For some reason, when opening up the SQL Server Configuration Manager for one of my SQL Servers, the 'Requesting data from WMI provider..' message stays there. It never gets the data. This is in regards to services management. Its not a big deal, because I can log on to the server to accomplish this, but it would be nice to do it from SSMS. It works for other SQL Servers. Has anyone experienced this before?
I just installed 3 instances of SQL Server 2005, installing the two named instances first and then the defaul instance third.
My configuration Manager only shows the two named instance services and the default does not show up.
Under Services in Computer Manager, it does show.
Any one run across this, and I would think it might cause some problems now that all the service configuration changes need to be performed in SQL Server Configuration Manager.
