On localhost this application works fine but when I put on remote server. I am getting following errors. For both localhost and server, I am using same remote sql 2000. I will appreciate any help.
Thanks,
Arif

odbc_pconnect() [function.odbc-pconnect]: SQL error: [Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] System resource exceeded., SQL state S1001 in SQLConnect
we got the error with access 2000 database and PHP as prog. language .
we created dsn for the connection.
reboot solves the problem. but we need another solution better than this.
I am using VB.NET 2005 and set up an ODBC connection via ODBC.ODBCConnection to a MDB database. Therefor, I use the "Microsoft Access ODBC Driver (*.mdb)".
When I set up a ODBCCommand like "ALTER DATABASE..." or "CREATE TABLE..." and issue it with the com.ExecuteNonQuery() command, I get an error from ODBC driver, that a SQL statement has to begin with SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE or DELETE.
How can I use DDL statements via ODBC?
I would appreciate if you could help me to use ODBC for that - no OLE, no ADO.
Hi guys! I am using SQL 2005 and I wonder why I am encountering the error "[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]Syntax error or access violation" everytime I am trying to create stored procedure with temp table and table variable. See my code below with temp table.
Any thoughts will be appreciated!
CREATE PROCEDURE DBO.SAMPLESP (@DETAILS AS VARCHAR(8000), @ID AS VARCHAR(15))
AS
BEGIN TRANSACTION
CREATE TABLE DBO.#TEMPTABLE { ASSET VARCHAR(50) }
DECLARE @INSTINSERT AS NVARCHAR(4000) SET @INSTINSERT= 'INSERT INTO #TEMPTABLE(ASSET)' SET @INSTINSERT= @INSTINSERT+ @DETAILS
EXEC sp_ExecuteSQL @INSTINSERT
INSERT INTO InstDetail (TrackNum, ASSETID) SELECT @ID, A.ASSE FROM #TEMPTABLE A
DROP TABLE #TEMPTABLE
IF @@ERROR != 0 BEGIN ROLLBACK TRANSACTION RAISERROR('There was an error in here', 11, 1) RETURN END ELSE COMMIT TRANSACTION
when I was sending 50 simultaneous connections to the web services, I got these 2 errors: - "1[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][DBNETLIB]SQL Server does not exist or access denied. "
- "An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections. (provider: TCP Provider, error: 0 - A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.)"
Everything worked fine if I ran 10 simultaneous connections. I am using Microsoft ACT to load test the web service. The database is SQL Server 2000. Any idea about why this is happening?
Hi! Today we installed our ASP.NET Application on a 64-bit server for the first time. We got the error 'Unable to find entry point named 'InterlockedIncrement' in DLL 'kernel32.dll''. This error comes when we make a database query using Microsoft.Data.Odbc. I think it does not run on 64-bit machines. Does anybody know something about this? KaaN
I want to use SQL Server to query an Access Database with about 40,000 rows of data. If possible, I don't want to upsize the database because others need acess to it in the ACC97 format. Is there a way to use ODBC to connect to the ACC97 database so that I can use the SQL query capability of SQL server to query the database.
I know access allows you to write some SQL queries but I need the power of the SQL server and now it is a matter of curiosity because I've been searching for this answer for about 8 hours.
Hello I am developing a web application that will allow users to upload a .mdb file and from that file I need to populate an SQL database. I know the table name of the .mdb file, but I am unclear how to structure my data access layer correctly. How do I pull data from the .mdb file and once I have it how do i populate the SQL database?Any advice would be greatly appreciated.thanks!
I attempted to use SSMA to migrate a 2000 file format .mdb into SQL Server Express (and, as I've just purchased VS2005 Pro, into SQL Server Developer Edition).
The file is actually a backend, so nothing to migrate other than tables.
After several runs during which I received (and fixed up) some errors, the process runs smoothly with no errors or warnings, until it comes to the last step; migrating the data itself.
Data migration into 'parent' tables works fine. However, wherever I have data in a table with a foreign key relationship to any of the aforementioned 'parent' tables, it refuses to migrate it. The text of the error message will be very smiliar to the following (from the log):
[Datamigrator: Error] [464/7] [2007-09-23 14:18:54]: Exception: The INSERT statement conflicted with the FOREIGN KEY constraint "Branch$CompanyBranch". The conflict occurred in database "DPMTest", table "dbo.Company", column 'CompanyID'.
There is nothing wrong, so far as I can determine, with the relationships involved.
I can insert data into the tables using any of the following methods: 1. Directly in Access, in the source backend. 2. Using the original Access frontend application, attached to the source backend. 3. Using VB.Net forms I am developing, in the 'upsized' database. 4. Directly in the Management Studio, in the 'upsized' database.
None of these four methods complains in the least about the relationships which SSMA balks at.
Dear All,Access adp on sql-server 2000After upgrating to A2003 updating data with 1 perticular combobox causes theprogram to hangs without any error-msg.Traying to change te combobox recordsource i get this error:This version of Microsoft Access doesn't support design changes to theversion of Microsoft SQL Server your project is connected to. I have developed an application in C#, and it uses both a SQL server database, and as part of its operation it opens up a Foxpro database. I am using Odbc to connect to the fox pro database and everything wortks just fine on my devleopment machine. However when I deploy my application I am getting the following error text when ever I create the form that does the Odbc work.
************** Exception Text ************** System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.Data.Odbc, Version=1.0.3300.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. File name: 'Microsoft.Data.Odbc, Version=1.0.3300.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089'
I have absolutely no clue why I am getting this error. I have insured that the latest MDAC was installed ( it is XP Pro so no updates there ) I have made sure that I have the latest Fox Pro Odbc driver installed as well and I can create the DSN just fine.
Can anyone point me where to look next ? Im truly stumped here.
I am getting the error message as "DIAG [00000] [ODBC Access Driver 52.1.150.0] -26 Driver not capable (-26)" at the time of retrieving the catalog infromation by SqlTables methode. it is shown "?" as catalogname but this not supported by odbc access driver. can you please help out how can i resolve using C++ code in SqlTables methode.
I have a query that executes just fine except that it won't recognize varchar(255) ( or any other value within the () ) and if I leave it off like this: varchar, then it executes but it leaves that value as 1 and that is just not very useful for my purposes. This also happens with anything else that requires () to add length such as char(), or nvarchar(), etc... Any ideas?
If you are running a different version of Microsoft SQL, it is your responsibility to state what version you are using (for example, SQL 2000, service pack 2). If you don't include information about what version of Microsoft SQL you are using, we'll assume that you are running SQL 2005 and the answer that we give you may or may not work with the version of Microsoft SQL that you are using.
Kudos to r937 for reminding me to include this version information in our FAQ

How do I get DDL for my tables? (http://www.dbforums.com/showthread.php?t=1212452#post4527532)
I have a Login that I setup in SQL Server 2005. The only database roles given to the login are db_datareader and public. On SQL 2000 these permissions are sufficient to allow me to setup a read only ODBC connection using this login and creating an import table in Access. When using the login in SQL 2005 and creating an import table, I am able to edit the underlying data, something I am not able to do with a SQL 2000 ODBC connection. Is there something in SQL 2005 that I am unaware of that would allow this login to modify (update) the table?
In order to add a data source by using ODBC Administrator, programmatically i am using SQLConfigDataSource. Thus calling SQLConfigDataSource with the fOption set to either ODBC_ADD_DSN for creating a new DSN.
Following is the stattement specified in the source code. where type_of_driver = "Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)"; and parameters contains the data source source credentials information such as DSN, UID, PSW, FIL, Description, DataDirectory,DEFAULTDIR and DBQ all separated by "
